Hi All, I was searching online for Arabic tutorials and found shariahprogram.com. After going through some videos I found it to be a good way of learning Arabic. But the problem is that they are teaching Arabic through tafseer of Quran. This is what I am concerned about. Should I go through and enroll in their 2 year course or not. Waiting for some honest replies. Regards

I've read the Qur'an several times over since I converted. I think I'm just going through a moment of weakness because of certain life circumstances like Bigmo said. Deep down I believe it is the Truth I just wasn't ready to face the Truth because of things I'm dealing with. That weakness and unwillingness to accept Truth manifested itself in doubt. And I let my dad borrow my copy of the Qur'an while he is working out of the state because he's recently decided to get involved in the faith since my conversion. My mom said in the 30 years she knew him she never once saw him pray or fast until I converted so maybe 1 good thing has come. Only thing is I can't find the other Qur'an in the house lol he said he left it on the bookshelf and I can't find it...

Can I just ask, as long as you're comfortable with it, where are you currently based? I have spent a relatively large amount of time (considering I am a heterosexual woman) with gay (particularly Muslim) men in many personal and social settings as I have had a number of friends, who were, inadvertently, gay and Muslim. I haven't found my experiences to be the same as yours. Of course, I am not a part of that circle, but I have spent a lot of time within it and I have met some really nice people. After all there's good and bad everywhere. lol I am now in Canada but I was raised mainly back and forth between egypt and KSA.... How was your friends experience different this I gotta know O.....

Salaam all, Once i was praying for my team, and my friend for the opposite team. Lets say, we are two very good people. My team lost. His team won. You ask yourself, why? why god u did this to my team. Your above said reminds me of 527. Please check you will know why one's prayer is answered and why not other's. Are you saying that Rabb an-nas as not a possesive construction? Salaam Thanks Huruf, I am not, its a genetive case not only just possesive. In genetive case there could be other relationship between nouns. It is better described as annexation. However, due revision again of this verse. I have improved understanding of preposition "be" with word Rabb to mean "about" which makes lot more sense in the context. (One use of "be" is to express adhesion). I thank you for this. Surah 1141 Reflect and then express in your words that, I seek protection from the state of commotion about my Rabb. (Sustainer, Foster, Maintainer and Accomplisher.)

Covenants/pledges/vows would all be similar. I would think that there is a difference between you making a statement of doing something, and pledging to do something. However, we should fulfill what we say.... O you who believe, why do you say what you do not do? Most abominable in the sight of GOD is that you say what you do not do. Well brother, you should use the Conditional tense/phrases , would, could, should, maybe, we will see, i understand, i'll try, God willing etc.... Instead of tying yourself down with a pledge, make an exit for yourself and be conditional Well as I stating Covenant and pledges are quite different cause covenant is an engagement between two people while pledges are just the one person engaging. Well as for those verses, that would create a problem if the verses mean any ol casual talk where you say "sure i'll ask him" but eventually forget and such or simply don't take as much. Or how about Terms of Service agreements where you gotta agree to for example not upload some copyrighted picture on Facebook and such even though everyone already does it? Otherwise these verse seem like quite the burden especially since elsewhere it is always referring to not breaking covenants and oaths and such. Oaths as I said I know involving saying you will do something in the name of God while covenants you don't but I assume it requires something to confirm its imporance like a handshake, saying the word "I promise" as people regularly do here and such. But simply any saying seems a bit out there and quite impossible to go by in a religion that isn't suppose to be a burden O_O I would think more figure this refers to the covenants, oaths and contracts.

You need to back up whatever you claim with Quranic verses and how you interpret them. I have not seen you provide any process of how you formulate any idea regarding the Quranic verses. That is because you have never asked me for it.

The context was the issue of slandering women and accusing them of sexual misconduct, especially adultery. A very sensitive and sometimes fatal issue in Arab tribal societies. Unfortunantly men get an easy pass on this but not the women. The Koran doe snot seperate but Arab societies do especially the tribal ones. It could be that the verse is talking about those who swore that the ones who got involved and supported these accusations would be could shouldered and ignored by them. Maybe the Koran is saying they should forgive the ones who were tempted to either believe or participate on the rumor and gossip. Salam, Yes, this is what parwez has provided in his exposition of the Quran; 2422.(Now that the episode is over, you too should consider it to be a bygone affair. Let it not leave behind any effect. We are fully aware of the feelings of those who have been directly or indirectly hurt by this accusation.) In their hearts they must have a lot of bitter feelings against the accusers, but the incident which has been put behind by Allah now stands closed. (You should also forget it; and wipe off its traces from your minds.) It should not be that the affluent and generous, who have been helping their near ones who cannot earn enough for themselves as well as the muhajireen, should stop doing so. You should also not swear to stop monetary help for anyone who was unfortunately involved in this incident (saying that in future you shall have nothing to do with them). This should not happen at all. (On the contrary they should forgive and leave the dust behind. Just consider If this was a lapse on the part of anyone amongst you, would you not desire Allah?s protection against its evil effects? This is exactly what these people desire. So just put yourself in their position and think about the treatment you would have wished for; then give them the same treatment. This is why Allah has incorporated the provisions of protection and nourishment.)

I guess it depends on the situation for a business. In the scenario I described earlier, it is definitely hoarding and condemned. If the business, for whatever reason, must hold on to certain financial assets, goods, etc. then I guess it is plausible for it to hold on to them, but that is much less the case then the former scenario. Let me talk about general hoarding... The Quran puts a balance to spending "in the cause of God". You're not supposed to go over the top and you are not supposed to be stingy. Remember that in 934 hoarding is contrasted to spending in the cause of God. 2195 Spend in the cause of God, but do not throw your resources to disaster. Do kindness, for God loves those who do kindness. Read this too 7018 Who hoarded and counted/withheld. 7019 Indeed, human being is created anxious. 7020 When adversity touches him he is miserable. 7021 When good touches him he is stingy. 7022 Except for those who bond/follow closely 7023 Who always maintain their bond. 7024 Those who set aside part of their wealth. 7025 For the seeker and the deprived. What follows is that saving money for future (financially-deprived) times does not equate hoarding. Rather, much like ribaa (usury), it is contrasted to spending in the cause of God (giving money/resources to the needy). Those who have enough money, and withhold a portion of it from the needy, are hoarders. Well said. Considering how 934's part about hoarding, it seems its not really referring to hoarding on its own as sinful but rather not paying charity and instead hoarding it as such which also seems further elaborated on in those verses you provided and what you also have said ) Thus its simply in the end about what you pay in the name of God to those of whom are listed you can pay to and if you are stringy on that then its sinful and not the hoarding part of it. It might be better to remember 'kafir' translates in essence to anti-God. Nope it doesn't.. "Kufr" translate to "Those who hides / covers" / "Those try to cover / hide the truth".. The anti of Kufr will be "Those who reveals" / "Those who try to reveal the truth".. The Kufr in Muhammad/Jesus/Abraham times are those who are 'deeply religious'... Among them are high-priests, priests and their (blind) follower... Jesus was convicted to death by "Council of Ulema" and so does Abraham.. both were convicted to death on "Blasphemy Case". Muhammad perhaps received a fair share of death threat from those religious folks.. The Kufr benefited from the lies spread within society and try to do anything include terror, torture and murder to hide the truth and maintain the status quo.. Although they used the terminology like "To maintain the unity of the ummah" or "To protect the believers from shaytanic influence", "To stay true to the path and traditions as set out by our holy/glorious ancestors" etc.. etc.. Principle #1 Truth doesn't need any protection, it just need to be told.. And remember; the "Kufr" on Jesus and John case is a monotheist as well... If you did an objective comparison on how the religious behave from those times and now.. you'll find not much of a difference.. By the time a person is old enough to consent to marriage they are more than old enough to understand the nature of God. So where you might want to start is to ask them if they believe God can be the truth. On contrary I believe those with the purest understanding of the one true God are those who are just being born into this world.. You have to understand their modus operandi first and foremost. The true measure is how liable are they to hold themselves to quranic standards of self - do they stay away from the major evils? The modus operandi of religious people or those who tries to cover the truth is to maintain the 'existing condition' (status quo). Because they gain benefit ($$$,Power and Influence) from the existing condition.. Plus an atheist is more a kafir/mushrik than anything else. If God is defined as a "Sky God" looking down below upon earth.. I myself is an atheist of such god.. I'm also an Atheist of Marduk, Latta, Uzza or other odd deities.... Salam / Peace

I suppose Islam is a smoke screen in hiding their true identity. Unfortunately sheep are plenty in the homeland and following their hoca's is so easy. Now the question comes as to how you were helped up? Is it thr natural laws of the world that God created that gave you opportunity to bring yourself up and thus why God gets credit for the help? And therefore the lack of interference from those who cause a disturbance weren't there to wreck it? the pain of betrayal was too much to handle feeling so paralyzed. taking my friend's suggestion, i turned to God to help me give the strength as i knew that i could't rely on my strength alone to over come. knowing that God was with me 24/7 helped when i would wake up in the middle of the night and various times during the day feeling mixture of emotions. i could have gone into depression, turning into an angry, resentful, bitter, distrustful, negative person. but i chose to listen to God. when i was angered, i worked on forgiveness. i relied on God to help me with my hurt/anger/pain. all that negative energy weighs you down and are toxic to the system. this is where prayer and reliance on God helped. i asked God to help me heal realizing that i had to let go of my anger both towards me for trusting and towards the person for betraying that trust. the choice was for me to make - let satan drag me down to the emotional abyss or hold onto God to pull me up ridding me of all the negativity. i chose to take God's guidance from the koran incorporating His characteristics of being caring and compassionate instead of hating and condemning. i chose to care about the person who hurt me as when you hurt others, you only hurt yourself. and it made me feel better. God tells us to make friends out of enemies and how to fight evil with goodness. being good to the person who hurt me can only lead to good outcome for my own soul and per chance for the other person as well. and so, this is why i feel and believe without any doubt that all credit goes to God. i am better as a result of God.

I have hard copy of Lughat-ul-Quran by G. A. Parvez. It is transcription of Lane Lexicon in Urdu, slightly abridged with a dozen or so deviations only where he wanted to project his notions. He seldom made use of his translated Lughat while writing Mafum ul Qur'aan and Matalib Qur'an. Neither he had any desire in following the Arabic Grammar-morphology and syntax while writing his own thoughts under the Ayah of Qur'aan. He is perhaps the worst translator of Qur'aan since nowhere he adheres to the Arabic Text of Qur'aan.
