umm..I believe it is referring to the activities as the WORK of Satan...so I would say it is it. You are avoiding his work. I could be wrong. The answer is already presented in 591 Satan's plan is to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer will you not then abstain? So you can see what the plan of satan is • Make people hate each other • Keep people from remembering God • Keep people away from salat Intoxicants and gambling can be used for those things. All matches can be used to burn down buildings but not all matches are used for crimes. So if a person's usage of intoxicants/gambling fulfils any of the criteria above then it is forbidden without a doubt (the bad). If it does not then it is halal without a doubt as there is no reason to prohibit it (the good). We know that the bad outweighs the good. We forbid the bad and we promote the good because this is the way of God. God does not permit evil, and God does not prohibit goodness.

Salam You hit the nail on the head student of Allah. The majority of there arguments basically based on premises which are either unfounded or impossible to prove/disprove. I find it a waste to do rebuttals myself because i admit i do tend to get drawn in to the circular reasoning and is never ending after a point i just give up because they rely on you to spoon feed them. this not an admission of defeat but acknowledgement that the arguments become never ending when alot of assumptions are made and distracts from the underlying point on whether the original premise is true or not. i have one issue which really hasnt been addressed by those who promote hadith following to be compulsory. It is stated in the Quran it is the criterion and the majority of sects believe this to be true. the issue then arises when you say they hadiths are needed to understand/explain the quran. this makes the hadith the criterion because a criteria does not need explanation. so the issue for them to work out is. the hadith is the criteria or the quran is, it cannot be both unless they beleive the hadith and the quran are one which however all sects know they are not one and same. i hold firm the quran is the criteria. So if someone wanted to truely convince me that hadiths are compulsory they will have to disprove and discredit the quran as a criteria only way to do this is to prove as a stand alone book it contains contradictions/misinformation. No sunni/shia etc has yet done this. this is a very slippery slope for them. Readers also need to be aware that supposed missing information and vague verses is not a contradiction or a valid argument for hadiths becuase that is an assumption and false premise (if they truely hold the quran to be a criterion and number one source of islam) that stuff is missing, a criteria by definition does not lack information therefore alot of the arguments available to them go out of the window Majority of argument against quran only position are based on supposed lack of information in the quran. this premise is what needs to be addressed and arguments are miraculously cut down when they realise that the quran lacking information is a subjective opinion on there part and cannot be proved using the quran itself and therefore not a strong foundation to base arguments on. my studies so far have bought me to the conclusion that hadiths are not compulsory, however if people feel a need to use them do not make them compulsory for others to follow. plus the argument that we need hadith to understand arabic is invalid and hopefully does not need be explained why. this argument i have heard countless times. what has not understanding arabic got to do with hadiths bieng compulsory ??? o. sorry for the random rant, got carried away P

Salam Bigmo i know, i was speak with you in the other thread! ;D look i have a problem it seems there are two theories monotheism as first = the Polytheism is a distorted form of monotheism = possibility for a 'first god over the other gods' Polytheism as first= the Monotheism ist like anything completly new as Revolution (like in your Video introduction in the AT) What i understand, when Wahabi says, there is shirk in worship, they believe the first, i.e. monotheism was first and the polytheism can be a little bit monotheistic ( D i didn't think so) with a 'first God=ALLAH) that is the claim from them the pagans from Mecca know ALlah. (what we see in the Quran) what you say is (that the Polotheism was first and) the monotheism is something else, i acknowledge this and think it's quite logic. It comes together with the message of the quran. Just then i don't understand WHY THE PAGAN SEEMS TO KNOW ALLAH? so maybe because Allah , this word means really 'not a God' , but that our Rabb, the al Rahman want say, I AM NOT A GOD LIKE YOUR GODS, I.E. BESIDE THEM. I AM THE REAL CREATOR IN THE HEAVENS AND ON THE EARTH. one other point you understand that they take their monks as God , because they following them in their false interpretations, i.e the rabbis hide the bible maybe, but the monks? also? And so the sunnis take also their scholar as God for the fact, that they put the word of the prophet over the word of Allah? I see dua as the ultimate form or worship and its also proof of faith. o.k but how to make dua for a dead science or prophet is not against of ALLAH? is this not clear against of monotheism? i can pray 1000 years to prophets or dead scholar or or, it's for nothing. how this is not shirk?? or it's only useless?? and how sheiks can say it's a valid form of worship?? o nope (i hope you understand my bad English, sorry) Salam

Salaam all. I remember reading somewhere that science is a way for us to know God and to know about all of the amazing things that God has created and given to us. In this way I embrace science and I don't feel threatened at all by findings like Higgs boson. I just don't understand yet what it really means - and in fact it's not fully understood by the men and women who've been working for so many years to find it either. That doesn't make it bad or wrong. Re. Stephen Hawkings - didn't he actually bet that the god particle would never be found? Correct me if I'm wrong about this. Btw I don't think the fact that its called the god particle should even enter into what we, as muslims, think about this finding. It's a name. Also, regarding whether science is corrupted or not personally I have a good deal of faith in science - but I certainly don't put all my faith in it. It's a great way to know how things work (as mentioned, to know Gods work and Gods creations). Findings do change regularly, it's true. But that is part of why I put some trust in it. It is self-correcting in that way. I do distrust supposedly scientific studies that are financially backed by corporations. A good example of this is with studies on certain medications - I think it's shocking that they are even able to get away with that I also find it really frustrating when people with a scientific background forget that science does change at times - it's a process. It's almost as frustrating as people who believe in God and so refuse to accept scientific results. Selam crustinpeace , I totally agree with you. I personally feel that science is a very good explanation (not in all ways) on his universe works and the basis of it. Science doesn't disprove God but essentially does the opposite. I studied Physics for A-Level and found it very fascinating and beneficial to understanding key concepts of the world and how incredible God made things from nature to the basic constants of forces. I do think though that sometimes there may be an excess of hours put into finding out certain things which sometimes have a lower priority as such things like cancer, aids and other detrimental diseases. But regardless science enhances our understanding of life by simply doing as God requested which is to explore his creation(s) . Peace all peace

Selam Edip Great interviews, specially liked the one with the imam. When cornered he really had no clue and running away was his animal instinct. I guess 1746 outlines exactly what these people will do when cornered! Well done, I enjoyed watching it. Peace

The Qur'an does state it is arabic, but I sometimes think that maybe the arabic language was chosen because of the nature of the language, and how it will last, and not be twisted...but then again I am not sure why is the Qur'an in arabic...as arabic is a difficult language...and seeing those weird language arguments makes me feel, how was the Qur'an supposed to be a universal message?. That is a problem with for example Dr.Rashad's claim, he stressed prayers have to be spoken in arabic, I am an arab and I find that (AT THE MOMENT, i am still looking) unfair....I get to say things as I understand it while others have to say things they do not understand? And mind you some words, are so uncommonly used, that I need to look at a arabic-arabic dictionary my self, to make sure. Salaam NevaShiva, Wow wow wow!!! You made me a global trip. I simply asked a question. Yes you are correct bro when you said I am not looking for "In the name of God". I don't know what you found in wiki, if you like please share the link what you found. I strongly believe that beside Arabic language AlQuraan also based on patterns, styles and designs that make others easy to understand it. This is how it is a universal message. Back to question, there is no mentioned of "ISM" in BismiAllah. You can see all other instances having alif when it talks about ism. For example, please check 6118,119,121, 2228,34,36,40 2436, 616. There are many more examples then why alif is missing in BismiAllah? My Allah increase us in knowledge and guide us to His true path pr mmKhan

Perhaps "good deeds" in general are distinguished from the specific sin of disobeying God and the Messenger. but as 414 already proved that same line stating one will go to hell for doing such sins is also available for that verse that talks about all sins. Thusfore why it almost looks like we have a contradiction. So far i'm leaning towards this all meaning without the use of good deeds to tip the sale in your favour and cleansing these sins.

Salams The warning has been given about religious clerics/monks/chiefs (etc), consuming people's money illicitly. Luckily we have such terminology now.. it's called "Scam-Artists"... Those clerics, priests, monks are very good at drama play... Salam / Peace

Hi Aryan, How are you doing? I would say I agree with Student of Allah. I mean I only kill them if I have to. Otherwise, I respect their nature and let them be. My Lilyana (age 8 ) feeds the ants....lol I told her about Solomon and she shares a potato chip or two. As long as they stay outside, we are all friends. Now big hairy spider, even if innocent...... I have to think about that one. More like, "Oh hubby, get in here now and get this thing out of here!" All said in a high pitch scream and a little dance. Hi Indelwyn, how are you too XD Very good and true there ) course ironically Spiders are more harmless than regular roaches (unless its the poison type P) but thanks ) I like your pic. Is that an anime character? Haha yes and no. The character is Phoenix Wright from the amazing video game series called Ace Attorney. Even so the game plays out like an anime and there are mangas and a movie based on it too D been playing the games since I was your age ) Well, if they're going to harm you, then an idea is that better to harm them than them harming you... Solomon was about to kill a bird 2721 Just try to find natural alternatives/remedies to kill bugs ok? Like Borax or something. I normally just kill them with a napkin P the only time I use pesticides are when there is an infestation like bed bugs (stupid downtown living) where otherwise its pretty hard to get rid of. I go by the dictionary definition. Which is??
