To accept the supremacy of anyone or anything except the Qur?an is ?shirk? and to follow any law excepting this law is shirk. (1699-100) 1699-100 do not say what you are saying, please clarify. Did the angels commit shirk by bowing to Adam (230)? Is God commanding shirk at 547? Negation of God?s absoluteness is Shirk Not surprising you didn't provide any reference for this one. What does "absoluteness" mean in this context? Absolute power? Authority? Or do we all have to become pantheists?? Acceptance of God?s son is Shirk. If I said we are all God's children, would that be shirk? If so, why? If not, why not? One who make his/her ego and the religious leaders his/her God and follow them instead of the Laws of God commit Shirk.........B{o}asting means to speak with excessive pride about one?s own possession or accomplishment. If one is boastful, in what way is that different from making one's own ego a god, and thus committing shirk?? It is certainly hinders one?s own progress in his life. It is a weakness not a Shirk therefore, believing that ?boasting? is a Shirk in itself is a Shirk. Of course, Allah does not like boasters but such a minor sin deserves Allah?s forgiveness and is eliminated by reframing from (Kabair) major sins. So if I don't murder, I merit God's forgiveness from my "lesser" sins? Is that right?

@confused, Are your views/beleifs/understanding based on teachings of the Koran or based on culture, tradition, what we have been told is Islam and practiced by people? The moment you think about God, you establish connection. Sura 2186 - the moment you call upon God, He is near. You can make a connection with God anytime, anywhere. Yes, salat is a way to make that connection with God but it has been turned into ritual, basically a tradition, or a habit obsessing over numbers and form than the intended purpose. Salat is prescribed as it has been before for reasons as explained by God. How many people you know who pray 5 times and then in between making their connection, fornicate, lie, hurt, backbite, disrespect, oppress, unkind, uncaring, untrustworthy, etc.. The fundamental of Islam is belief in God and in the life hereafter and attaining piety. A good muslim or practicing muslim is someone who does good works, is a good person. If you don't do salat that doesn't mean you are not a muslim or a practicing muslim. There is Islam per God and then there is Islam according to men.

Say I do not control any benefit or harm for my own soul except as Allah please; and had I known the unseen I would have had much of good and no evil would have touched me; I am nothing but a warner and the giver of good news to a people who believe.? 7187-188 (The Day of Judgement is sudden, and therefore there can be no ?warning signs?. Quite clearly he did not know the future, and he could not guide himself past following the Revelation. How then could we expect him to guide us?) ?Say I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your god is one Allah, therefore whoever hopes to meet his Lord, he should do good deeds, and not join any one in the service of his Lord.? 18110 (If Prophet Muhammad is only a mortal like everyone else, then like everyone else he cannot tell the future.) ?Men ask you about the hour; say The knowledge of it is only with Allah, and what will make you comprehend that the hour may be nigh.? 3363 (i.e. the Messenger did not actually know the signs of the End Times.) ?Say I am not the first of the messengers, and I do not know what will be done with me or with you I do not follow anything but that which is revealed to me, and I am nothing but a plain warner.? 469 (The Messenger had no mission past delivering the Qur?an. He did not bring any other Revelation, and nor was he an explainer. This ayah rules out any ahadith describing ?intercession? (and there is quite a number!). Any hadith where the plight of Messengers or people is described should henceforth be discarded, especially those describing Muslim conquests.) ?Do they then wait for aught but the hour that it should come to them all of a sudden? Let us look at the purpose of the ?Night Journey? ?And nothing could have hindered Us that We should send signs except that the ancients rejected them; and We gave to Samood the she-camel-- a manifest sign-- but on her account they did injustice, and We do not send signs but to make (men) fear. And when We said to you Surely your Lord encompasses men; and We did not make the vision which We showed you but a trial for men and the cursed tree in the Quran as well; and We cause them to fear, but it only adds to their great inordinacy.? 1759-60 ?And He revealed to His servant what He revealed. The heart was not untrue in (making him see) what he saw. What! do you then dispute with him as to what he saw? And certainly he saw him (perhaps Gabriel) in another descent, at the farthest lote-tree; near which is the garden, the place to be resorted to. When that which covers covered the lote-tree; the eye did not turn aside, nor did it exceed the limit. Certainly he saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.? 5310-18 Muhammad received a major sign (additional but complimentary to the Message) just as the previous Messengers did. He may have received more Qur?anic ayat (signs) whilst on this journey, but it is clear that the purpose here was to see Paradise (although barely visible). This is the trial for us to see whether we care or believe. To say he received knowledge of the future is contradictory to the prior ayat listed, and innovates on the purpose of these signs. If he did receive extra-Qur?anic knowledge of the future, one must explain how this affects the ?Qur?an-alone? position.

Greetings and Peace, all group Are you sure that there is only one (true) path? 426 GOD wants to clarify for you and guide you to the paths of those before you, and pardon you, and GOD is Knowledgeable, Wise. 1412 "And why should we not place our trust in GOD, when He has guided us in our paths. And we will be patient to the harm you inflict upon us. And in GOD those who trust should place their trust." 2969 As for those who strive in Our cause, We will guide them to Our paths. If we follow it, then it would mean that is one path, but then you have to remember the people of the book and other monotheists who God also says can enter heaven, thus how there are multiple paths of religion. My understanding is that cheese produced under the major labels -- i.e., the large scale cheese manufacture -- you can fairly figure is made with synthesized or other-than-mammal source rennet. If you want the highest confidence you can have practically -- without making your own cheese/s --, you might go with kosher cheeses. Because of pork avoidance, I do my best to avoid gelatin, which is in so many grocery items, besides in so many OTC and other medicine capsules. In my area there is sold only one brand of yogurt without gelatin, and that brand without gelatin is much more costly. From time to time I buy a small container of that brand, from which to culture much more yogurt, which I then freeze over blended fruit in serving size portions. My household is not within practical proximity to any halal or kosher meat markets. We use a lot of eggs, cheeses, and seafood. Of other meats, we use only beef and chicken, but not so much of them, and we generally stretch these meats through large quantity recipes. When we have burgers we use the textured vegetable protein type, and of those available we much prefer the ones that are not meatlike in taste and texture. They cost a bit more than burgers of ground beef, but we like them much better than beef ones. They make for more convenient cooking and cleanup too, and they have far lower fat content than beef ones. I do not think that God's guidance means for those of us in this general time and place -- our general circumstances -- to be so burdened in having proper diet. We thank God for our provisions and acknowledge the sacrifice of other creatures' lives to provide us with food.

Salam, Upon closer examination I would say there are only 3 gods mentioned in 7123, as the last three names "Yaghouth, Ya3ouq, Nisra" are joined together in a way to indicate they are the same god. The last three names seem to describe a "Sphinx" with mixed animal features. 7123 And they said "Do not abandon your gods. Do not abandon Destroyer, nor Fertility, nor Lion, Stallion and Eagle."

Salaam AW If I was texting I would either use IA or 'God willing', depending on who I'm texting to, but I tell you, saying insha'Allah works so well in a muslim country. Tourists often use greetings like salaam but when one says insha'Allah you will see a smile on people's faces as they know you are muslim, and it engenders a feeling of brotherhood regardless of language or sects.
