I do not think muslims in Spain used the word "masjid" for mosque..nor any muslims at that time. The word is "jame3" jame3 qortuba; jame3 alnabi; jame3 demashq; jame3 lazhar...some of the oldest mosques. During the Crusades, Egypt was the main country used to enter the Middle East, next to Byzantium/Turkey. It is also the one where the most areas were under Christian control. Salah-alDin kicked them out when he fought for the Egyptian Mamluk ruler, which he deposed later. The Mamluks/Egyptians ruled most of the northern area of the Middle East during the crusades, including Palestine. It could be a plausible source for the pronunciation of meskit/mosque. The leap from masjid to mosque is too big, even as a mocking joke, the leap from meskit to mosque is only dropping the 't/d'. But it just my own theory. Salaam

Well I dont know where you got "aliens" from.... but maybe other "bashar" were those who came before homo sapiens? and adam and eve were the first homo sapiens? Quiet possible, imo. Or that we existed before the creation of adam. This could be how the malaika knew our behavior.

I think you have misunderstood me. By males having a natural "wider duty of care" I meant "wider duty of responsibility" than females, when it comes to providing for the family/household. Does anyone wash their hands after they have touched their feet? I am funny about this. I have to wash my hands after I have touched a bin, or the toilet lid or my keys or money. I think I am germ-a-phobic I always do. it dosn't mess up the ablution. You don't even have to do ablution in a certain order IMO. as long as you fulfill what's asked and don't afterwards nullify it by the ways it is described. peace

I understand what you are saying, but the idea was that if, as you say, 4 people were living in the house, then they use 4 times the services than one person in the house, which sounds fair to me. But your opinion and mine was the reason for the whole argument about it. I'm not sure it can be resolved into right or wrong, which is why it grew into riots. Both sides had their point. The point the mullah is making that, instead of causing a quarrel the women should agree with her husband and pray at home. Thus he is not worried for her safety, because god as made it his responsibility to care for his wife. Think logically. K I am thinking logically, why should men be more important?
