I know about Hajj and shaving babies heads on the seventh day. I'm talking about shaving it as a tonsure. There is no hadith that commands it. In fact the hadith says that Mohammed had long hair and that the armies of the Khawarij had shaven heads. But anyone who wears a turban today is smooth as an egg. I brought this up because I found a photo of a Naqshbandi Shaykh from India (I think it was India and not Pakistan) and he had long curls hanging out of the back of his green turban and one of the Flickr comments asked why he would wear his hair like a kafir, etc. Shaykh Kabbani and Shaykh Nazim both have shaven head so this guy really was the odd man out. It's gotta be the headgear.

Salaam Nabster, the Jews of Israel are absolutely nothing to do with the ancient people of Israel, the decedents of the biblical Jews would in all likely hood be the Palestinian people, who later became Muslim, the vast majority of modern Jews are Ashkenazi Jews, people who adopted Judaism, they estimate at least 80%, even more concentrated within Israel. Their genetically eastern European, they adopted Judaism in the middle ages, does this give these people a right to other people property, as you suggest? Yes I agree.

Salaaman all brothers & sisters, Please allow me in. I believe 6118, 6119 & 6121 is all about animals, inshaAllah. Cause, when it clearly says "And why should you not eat that on which the name of God has been mentioned, when He has fully detailed to you what has been made unlawful; except what you are forced to? Many misguide by their desires without knowledge; your Lord is fully aware of the transgressors." 6119 Now we can see what are unlawful that has been detailed in AlQuraan. Please have a look at 2173, 53, 6145 & 16115 as follows 2173 "He has only made unlawful for you that which is already dead, and the blood, and the meat of pig, and what was dedicated with to other than Allah. But whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression, then there is no sin upon him. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful." 2173 53 "Forbidden to you is that which is already dead, and the blood, and the meat of pig, and what was dedicated to other than Allah, and that which has been strangled, and that which has been beaten to death, and that which has fallen from a height, and that which has been gored, and that which the wild animals have eaten from except what you managed to rescue, and what has been slaughtered on altars, and what you divide by the arrows of chance. This is wickedness. Today the rejecters have given up from your system, so do not be concerned by them, but be concerned by Me. Today I have perfected your system for you, and completed My blessings upon you, and I have approved submission as the system for you. So, whoever is forced by severe hunger and not seeking sin, then Allah is Forgiving, Merciful." 53 6145 "Say I do not find in what is inspired to me to be unlawful for and eater to eat except that it be already dead, or running blood, or the meat of pig - for it is foul - or what is a wickedness, dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression, then your Lord is Forgiving, Merciful." 6145 16115 "He has only made unlawful for you what is already dead, and the blood, and the meat of pig, and what was sacrificed to any other than Allah. But whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression, then Allah is Forgiver, Merciful." 16115 If you look closely, inshaAllah, you will find it is all about meat or animals. The most beautiful part of these verses are "Allah is Forgiver, Merciful" in all the 4 verses, Alhamdulillah. You can understand why this has been mentioned. Then, in the very next aayat i.e., 16116, there comes a warning 16116 "And do not say, as to what your tongues falsely describe This is lawful and that is unlawful; that you seek to invent lies about Allah. Those who invent lies about Allah will not succeed." 16116 I hope inshaAllah, the animal is clear. If it is not clear enough, then lets take another look at 6118, 6119 & 6121, inshaAllah. If you think that these aayaats are referring to all foods, it is not possible for everyone to survive in this world. I live in India, here grains, seeds, cereals, vegetables, fruits, all has been cut with Pooja on the day of harvest. The farmers do some rituals in the name of their Hindu gods before they cut it. In such case, people living in India has to grow their own food. Because, as it is said in 6119? 6119 "And why should you not eat that on which the name of God has been mentioned, when He has fully detailed to you what has been made unlawful; except what you are forced to? Many misguide by their desires without knowledge; your Lord is fully aware of the transgressors." 6119 It does not mean that you can take the name of Allah on any food and have it. But the name of Allah has to be taken by someone on it, because, we cannot grow our own foods, fruits, veggies, etc. then slaughtering animal ourself, which is not possible for every person. Nor you can eat anything dead, which is already Haraam, just by taking Allah name on it by yourself. Now how to take Allah's name on them? 2236 & 37 may help us understand the procedure, inshaAllah. 2236 "And the plump livestock, We have made them for you to be among the symbols of Allah; you will have benefit in them. So mention the name of Allah upon them in succession; then, once their sides have become still, you may eat from them and feed with them the poor and the needy. It was thus that We have made them in service to you, that you may be thankful." 2236 2237 "Neither their meat nor their blood reaches Allah, but what reaches Him is the righteousness from you. It was thus that He made them in service to you, so that you may glorify Allah for what He has guided you to, and give news to the good doers." 2237 Again taking the name of Allah is clearly mentioned in 2236 that only refer to animals. To clarify more we will have a look at 6141 in comparison with 2236. 6141 "And He is the One Who initiated gardens; both trellised and untrellised; and palm trees, and plants, all with different taste; and olives and pomegranates, similar and not similar. Eat from its fruit when it blossoms and give its due on the day of harvest; and do not waste. He does not like the wasteful." 6141 If you notice, giving its due on the day of harvest is mentioned, but taking or mentioning the name of Allah on it on the day of harvest is not said. It may clear the picture that taking name of Allah is said only on animals. I hope this may help you understand something more, inshaAllah. But please do your own research to understand it better. May Allah guide us all towards the correct path. Khan 6141 is not about dietary laws, but sadaqat. We are to mention God's name upon all food that we eat, not just meat 6119 Why should you not eat that (anything, not just meat) on which God's name has been mentioned, when He has sufficiently detailed to you what has been made forbidden; except what you are forced to? Many misguide by their desires without knowledge; your Lord is fully aware of the transgressors. 6121 Do not eat (anything, not just meat) from what God's name has not been mentioned, for it is vile. The devils inspire their supporters to argue with you; and if you obey them, then you have set up partners. Mentioning God's name upon our food is not about "blessing" it or anything like that - it is about remembering God. This is to be done in all instances of eating - not just before the consumption of meat.

Peace I just gave the verses so that you can take the time to make up your own mind using God's words. I think the verses I gave you are very straightforward. The ones you gave seem to be translated in ye olde english and have a lot of words in brackets. I'll look up the verses and read the verses that come before and after them and let you know my opinion. Keep reading and studying and don't give up. It might seem easy to give up and just listen to scholars all your life but that won't benefit you in the afterlife. bravo wisw words.

Peace, If your country does not have relations with Israel, its better to keep it that way. In any case if you haven't seen this documentary, watch it, then ask yourself does your country need to add to its problems by establishing normal relations with Israel? http//video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6604775898578139565

Peace Edip Are you going to broadcast any of them. When I contacted you earlier this hear about broadcasting our Quran Conference in South Africa, you referred me to someone who suggested we use ustream.tv .It works really well. I'm sure everyone here would love to watch it live. You can also record it while broadcasting so that it's available for those who miss the live broadcast. Good Luck Imraan

I note the following list, which gives us a glimpse of those who aren't muslims. And from that, it seems like some here behave like the folk in the above list. So... what do we do about that? Peace, Respectully. I'd say that a Muslim is a person who follows The Quran. Person who doesn't follow The Quran is not Muslim, in my view, God knows best. Besides, people change. God bless you all. Peace.

True, but the Qur'aan mentions this prohibition and removes it. That's why the ONLY foods prohibited in the Qur'aan are the ones mentioned, along with the wisdom of the ones from the previous scriptures. For example, the Qur'aan doesn't forbid eating another human being (even though it's pretty disgusting!). So, does that mean it's okay to eat people, engaging in cannibalism? The Qur'aan never removes the prohibition against bestiality; therefore, I think it still stands... well, technically, you aren't allowed to kill people, so slaughtering people for their flesh would be prohibited. secondly , the only situation where one might be forced to cannibalise would be in situations of starvation, where people are stranded. See this story http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R_v_Dudley_and_Stephens#Facts_of_the_case I'd argue that even though they had no right to kill him, I am not sure that they had no right to consume him if he had died naturally from dehydration. Of course I don't think it's ok to eat people, but that's because that is considered disgusting in most societies, including the one I come from. Some societies, I remember watching on National Geographic, have a long standing tradition of eating the flesh of their dead to keep their spirits alive. It's called necro cannibalism to distinguish it from homicidal cannibalism, which is not allowed since, in the Quran, taking the life of a person is like killing all of humanity. The same can't be said for the following group. http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aghori#Cannibalism

As for belH who is confusing EGO with REASONING you have one of the biggest egos here, since you are challenging hundreds of the Quranic verses encouraging us to use our reasoning and not following anything blindly. Ironically, you are using a lousy reasoning to promote your crusade against God's greatest gift to humanity reasoning faculty. Peace, Edip Peace all, Edip, stop acting like a kid by criticizing without reading. Read again and tell me how your criticism is related to my post? 1967 Does men not remember that We created him before, when he was not a thing? 1967 Yes, we should always remember that "YOU WERE NOTHING Before being born", when arguing about God's CLEAR Messages. And when our limited brain fails to grasp the wisdom behind One of our Lord's Law, then we should always say WE Heard, and We Obey. Do not let your Ego makes you think that your Logic is immune from failing, and let it not prevent you from saying "WE Heard, and We Obey", when you don't understand the wisdom of your Lord. Finally, Ask Him to grant you the Wisdom, so you may not struggle in understanding his messages. Peace If your reasoning made you delete two qurainc verses, 9-128 & 129, then do not call it reasoning, rather, it is your Satanic Ego.

Edip, I would be very interested in hearing more from/about Jewish Muslim rabbis, or other Jews who accepted the Quran and kept their culture. This sounds like a very good thing to me and any information would be awesome! Thank you!

2144 verily we see the turning of thy face towards the heavens and verily we shall turn thee to the Qibla that you deisre so turn thy face towards the Sacred Mosque. Prophet Muhammad had a desire to have his focal point of prayer towards Allah in a certain physical direction that he called scared mosque dome of the rock to make his leadership and Koran remembred in this physical reality. We humans exist in a physical reality so our beliefs have to be translated into the physical world which are Just symbolic and have no real effect on beliefs. All stones and energy prostrates to Allah. So even if we pray towards a stone , we are in fact prostrating towards allah with the stone. We are praying to allah with the stone. wherever we are all particles and space and time are prostrating to allah all the time. 2272 not upon you is their guidance but allah guides whom he wills and whatever you spend in good , it is for yourselves, and do not spend but for Allah. And whatever you spend in good, it will be repaid to you in full, and you shall not be wronged. Focal point towards allah is the guidance so all works such as charity and spending and physical prayer and beliefs of the heart are towards allah's face.

Because "fake" ratings are made in some places. I got a pro racing game and it has ratings of M. o Salam All, I think parents should play the games first and then rate them themselves so they can decide to let their children play with or not laugh
