so, a confused woman, sees a woman wearing black sheet on TV, reads the wiki page and finds the truth! say, it is real. what about reading, analyzing, thinking, ... how does a sudden decision based on an outer appearence make any story fascinating? My husband has told me on numerous occasions that if someone gossips about the other, they're taking the other's sin (decreasing the amount). That doesn't make sense to me now that I've been reading more Qur'anic based articles and the Qur'an itself.... unless I haven't got to that part in the Qur'an.? I thought everyone is responsible for their own sins ... and if you gossip about someone you're just creating sin for yourself? Has anyone heard that before? Australian man jailed for nine years over DIY jihad manual SYDNEY -- An ex-airline worker was jailed for nine years in Australia on Friday for producing a do-it-yourself jihad manual including how-to guides on bomb-making, assassinations and shooting down planes. peace, Whilst not a short easy to read summary, it is actually quite a tough read, but you may wish to struggle through the book 'coherence in the quran' by mustansir mir. It is quite cheap to buy. It is written like an academic thesis, hence the tough read, but it is safe to say it significantly shaped my thinking of chapter structure and linking themes throughout them. It has been discussed a little on the forum, by myself and member mquran http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=10431.0 It does not cover all chapters.

If we agree with this line of thinking that there was another revelation other than the Quran than this means that the daily words and actions of the prophet were divine and hence he could be considered God himself. I know this is absurd how could a man be divine but the same goes for the contention that there was another wahi. This in a logical sense could only happen if the prophet was divine himself and that his words were also tantamount to that of God. Maybe we should say that he is the son of god so it will be easier for those that maintain that there was another wahi. So in this case we can conclusively say that the first revelation is from the father and the second from the son. Hadith were simply the interpretations of the earliest scholars of Islam and may as well include the interpretations of the prophet as well, but by the time they were written down much corruption had occurred through hearsay and malicious intent of the adversaries of Islam. Hadith should be treated as a historical document containing the interpretations of the earliest Muslims albeit with some corruption involved. It is totally a fallible document from which we can learn a lot about the earlier times but to say that it is infallible and should be treated as a law is only a possibility if we can raise the prophet to divine himself.

And yet, I believe that if you went to sunniforum (or any other similar board for traditional Muslims), you would come across a lot of people who are brainwashed into believing that waging war against the disbelievers is part of Islam. At least that is my impression so far. I'm not saying all of them, but they are not just a tiny and negligible minority. I disagree. I think most Sunnis believe that war should only be undertaken defensively, since this is stated in the sunna... Allah knows best...

Shirk is not an 'internal experience' only, if you're implying that is. Shirk is also not disconnected from other 'sins'. Shirk is the source of other sins. If one didn't have shirk, one would be like Ibrahim who is 'mukhliseen lahu ad-deen' (i.e, totally without shirk). We need to identify the mushrikeen for the sake of situations such as in 9/1 which contains the phrase 'min al-mushrikeen' and requires the reader to identify who these people are. Of course, in no way am I agreeing with traditional concept of shirk and mushrik either.

In regards to your endnotes on Jesus, I have a background as a former Christian Minister and find your endnotes highly reasonable and truthful in nature. Would like to see stuff added to endnotes dealing on findings from the Dead Sea Scrolls which sheds a lot of light on Jesus. Such as that he was just trying to reform Judaism based on there forms of worshipping God and being materialistic rather than spiritual. Keep up the good work and I hope your emails work out. By the way I use to send material and some information on Jesus to Jacobvichi Simcha and James Cameron who did that documentary on the Jesus Family Tomb in which they got slammed by the Christian fundamentalist for making that documetary. just a quick question, doesn't the word 'Injeel' in the Quran refer to the biblical gospels alone? Not necessarily. The Qur'aan says that Allah gave Jesus the Injeel (i.e. Evangel), He didn't give it to his disciples. Jesus never wrote any part of the Biblical gospels, so they couldn't have been what Allah gave to him... Some people say that Jesus was actually given a physical book, while others say that he was given the message that his disciples wrote down...

Wa Salaam Justice, I think you are missing something, the verse informs us that this covenant was taken from the prophets so excluding Muhammad from the covenant will definately exclude him from the prophets which will violet 3340. And for your information Muhammad was included in the covenant as detailed in 337. And for the title "messenger of the covenant" I doubt if you will believe it since maybe you have some explanation for this ayat 24. You know what I mean right? I understand what you're saying, but you also have to look at the complete context of the passage. The verse Q. 381 is not a self-standing passage, it's is directly in line with the other surrounding verses. The passages before it are speaking of the Jews and Nazarenes, telling them to serve Allah alone and practice Islaam (which they were taught in the scripture). Then, verse 81 says that a messenger would come confirming the book that these people ("ahl al kitaab&quot had received, in the forms of the Torah and Evangel. After that, verse 84 says that the people declared that they would accept Islaam and all the prophets equally. What's necessary to note in that verse is that Muhammad is not mentioned anywhere; only the Jewish prophets are mentioned, the prophets of the Jews and Nazarenes... Then, even after this, verse 86 says that these people rejected the messenger, saying they disbelieved after believing. This is because they accepted Islaam in the past (in the forms of Judaism and Nazarenism), but they later rejected Muhammad and the Qur'aan. Read Q. 381-91, and you should understand the entire context of the passage and who this "messenger" would be... Like I said, Muhammad is not excluded from the assembly of prophets, but 381 is not giving a quote from Allah to the prophets; it's a quote from the prophets to their people. The people were told to believe in and support the coming messenger, who would verify the (at that time) existing scriptures... If this is referring to Allah talking to His prophets, then how can Abraham, Noah, Jesus, Moses, Muhammad, David, or Solomon believe in and support a "messenger of the covenant" in our days? All those prophets are dead, at least on our plane of existence. There's no way they could believe in and support a messenger now.
