Peace Enquirer, You stated aply this concept to muslims(ie the division into what we believe(islam) versus what we do(our deeds)),are we not creating artificial and arbitrary divisions by saying muslim/kafir? I think the terms are a matter of fact. They are well definined within the Qur'an. However, the usage of such terms can certainly be artificial and arbitrary. I don't think these terms were taught to us so that we can go around labelling people. They are taught to us so that we may reflect upon them, understand them, and apply them to our own lives. The "us vs. them" mentality is certainly a thorn in the side of all religions, although I wouldn't call it the majority voice of any group, only the loudest voice of most groups. Shiekh, riba means only increase ,not interest . he says that interest is a fair trade . 841 You should know that anything you gain, then one-fifth shall go to God and the messenger, and the relatives, and the orphans, and the poor, and the traveller. You will do this if you believe in God and in what We revealed to Our servant on the day of the Criterion, the day the two armies clashed. God is able to do all things. the 20 percent of any profit belong to the eight categories above . we are supposed to keep only 80% . now if someone consumes the 20 % , then he is consuming the RIBA (increased) . 2275 Those who consume the riba, they do not rise except as the one who is being beaten by the devil out of direct touch. That is because they have said "The Trade is like The Riba" While God Has made the trade lawful, and He has forbidden the riba. Whoever has received understanding from His Lord and ceases, then he will be forgiven for what was before this and his case will be with God. But whoever returns, they are the people of the Fire, in it they will abide eternally. here M. Shiekh makes the point that interest is trade , and those who consume riba claim that the trade (a specefic trade called "interest") is like the riba(the increased) . that is , Allah has made interest lawful , and has forbidden riba (the increased 20%). what do u think ?

What about the respect to parents. As in the Quran mention the difficuty the mother gone through. So under this circumstances does the respect go to the surrogate mother or the real mother? hello logically speaking, any caring mother or acting as amother must be respected and honored the prophet for example was breast fed by other women and I'm sure as read from the history records that he respected them and honored their names after they died it is loyality thingy and has nothing to do with religions indeed, however what i found that most humans fail this important principals of caring for the parents and never speak to them in contempt, very rare to happen bro peace be with you

Peace jhamza and all. Take a look at the hadith sections on the forum named; a) 'lets make a list of revolting hadiths' & b) 'can the hadiths be wrong'. These two sections contain a long list of hadiths which if taken literally can lead to a lot of harm. shock shock Peace all. Salaam gclandcp, Yes I understand that salaat doesnt always mean prayers,but it referring to our commitments in prayer to Allah in the surahs I am referring to.. We are to be commited to Allah at all times,so why would Allah tell us to just be commited to him at different parts of the day,it doesnt make since.We are to be commited to Allah in Prayer at appointed times.. SalahA devote form of spiritual communication between man and Allah.The most popular form is Prayer. Salam JHamzah, Prayers2,3,or 5?Tradition says five and I see 5 in the Quran as I have said on other posts.Yet some only see 2 or 3..The Quran should be clear or it doesnt matter. From verse 1187, you should know that solat is not ritual prayer. There are a lot of places in the Quran where you cannot translate solat as ritual prayer like 9103. As for me solat is our commitment as a human. Everything God create have their solat. For the bees, their solat is to pollinate the plants, wasp their solat is to control the population of the bees, trees is to produce oxygen and food, fly to clean the dead animals etc. Regards.

Salaams all, Thanks for the replys,so they are diffenitely pagan in origin..then that leaves me with the question.. Does Allah state any where in the Quran that its a sin to take or use things of pagan origin(not other gods or idols),for religious or non religous use????

590 O you who believe, intoxicants,and laziness, and the altars of idols, and the games of chance are abominations of the devil; you shall avoid them, that you may succeed. I believe we should avoid intoxicants and gambling and pagan altars and a lazy lifestyle.. But I dont think Allah forbids medications,,we just should be aware that we are not over medicated or that we are not misusing our medications,to the point that we get addicted to them.
