Easy bmbmm! In my study of politics i have come to an understanding that one of the better political sysyems and close to a quranic ideal would be 'anarchy'. Now before you fall off your lap-top,i will define 'anarchy. This word is from greek and could be translated as 'no leader, or no law'. The word has been misrepresented in some cases to mean violence and no law at all,but this is not what anarchy is about. In short anarchy is a system were there is no external authority(ie arbitrary government) except natural law.(ie individuals conscience) So an individual is free to decide what to do(within the limits of not harming or infringing the rights of others.) In the writings of anarchists some writers stress that man 'naturally' has an inclination to do good to others and in the abscence of government(eg people dictating to them) they will choose beneficial deeds. Some anarchists state that all government is harmful because it imposes its opinions and restricts freedom. An example of anarcy would be a liberal family,everybody is free to eat and express opinions and do as they wish without a ruler/dictator,as long as there actions do not harm the other members of the family. If there is a dispute a solution can be discussed(shura) and try to be agreed on or at least the dispute nullified. In some examples of islamic history any person could contest and over-rule the decision of a khalifa,this is like an example of anarchy. Too much power in too few hands can be very harmful. In the scientific community scientists thrive when they are independent and respected,not always when they are constrained by external authority and fear of cutting of funds/government pressure etc.. The basic principle in islam is 'there is no authority/guide except god'. Obeying any government in contradiction of what is right violates this. However this then begs the question' what is meant by god?' However that is for another thread....

peace Idolfree when v sleep the spirit is gone, we are out of the physical body but in different state known as sleep, maybe! ? we will sleep till the judgement day after death. if thts how it is then the NAFS is always alive, i.e. the power (not physical), the will, our ability to feel not body feel. we dream when v sleep, the nafs not inthe body but we do feel everything like real. the state/dimension is different. could it be after death we experience a quite sleep or filled with bad dreams or good dreams ?

G'day and Peace, The answers to your original four questions can be found in the Quran. I shall attempt to answer 3 & 4 because they make up the bulk of your earlier discussion. Is hell literally fire? Many of the descriptions in the Quran are allegorical, i.e. not literal. The Quran says this explicitly; "He sent down to you this scripture, containing straightforward verses - which constitute the essence of the scripture - as well as multiple-meaning or allegorical verses..." 37 There are numerous verses giving allegorical descriptions of heaven. Here is one; "The allegory of Paradise that is promised for the righteous is this it has rivers of unpolluted water, and rivers of fresh milk, and rivers of wine - delicious for the drinkers - and rivers of strained honey. They have all kinds of fruits therein, and forgiveness from their Lord. (Are they better) or those who abide forever in the hellfire, and drink hellish water that tears up their intestines?" 4715 Given that hell is mentioned right along with the allegorical descriptions of heaven, we should assume that they are also allegorical. How do we know that heaven and hell are real destinations? They are real destinations because we are told over and over that that is where we are 'destined'. (1797) As you said yourself, we either die and their is nothing, or we die and there is something afterwards. I think what you may really be asking here is, what is the nature of these destinations, physical or spiritual? I am of the opinion that heaven and hell are physical realms, though not necessarily made of the same physical materials that we know of in our universe. The reason for my opinion has mainly to do with verse 704; "The angels, with their reports, climb to Him in a day that equals fifty thousand years." This suggests a real distance in physical terms. Whether there is physical suffering in addition to spiritual suffering in hell, I am unsure of. However, it would appear that spiritual suffering is definately on the cards.

Peace NoProgressive, I completely understand what you mean. There are numerous places in the Quran that tell us that nothing, not even an atom's weight is out of God's control. How are we expected to comprehend and accept something like that, when it seems very much that we ourselves are "in control" and "responsible" for everything humans have a hand in on earth? I too believe that God could, if He wanted to, use His divine powers and directly intervene in something. For example, as you mention ?make someone pregnant despite the use of condoms and The Pill (and isn't this what we're expected to believe occured with the virgin birth of Jesus Christ?? and also say for example changing the answers one has written on a test paper to be correct and therefore effecting a passing grade. However, IF God does do this sort of thing, I am of the opinion it occurs very rarely. So, I prefer to look at the issue in one or both of these ways; (1) God has created everything, and has set everything in motion. He has "inspired" everything to grow, move, evolve and act in precise ways such that His desired events?however small?happen. This "inspiration" was given to the very first creations (of everything) and then things continued/have been passed down since time immemorial. Moreover, all of this was planned, designed and decided before any creating began (as the Quran informs us). (2) God created everything, and then continually "inspires" it as time and life go on. Another angle which I tend to mix in with either of the above; In understanding how God might be in complete control of everything I tend to look at it in terms of everything following a "system". A system which has obviously been designed and implemented by God. By "system" I mean that all His creations adhere to mathematical, biological and a myriad other laws and are living/working/operating inside within the entire universes, and by virtue of this, everything is under God's control. For example; You breathe automatically. God's system. You choose not to breathe for a few moments. God's system. (That you can choose, is part of your spirit/mind/body's design) You feel pain when pricked by a needle. God's system. Your heart beats. God's system. So, in essence, everything does exactly as God has designed it. And therefore, He is "in control" of everything.

Peace zenje and all. That is an interesting point you have brought up about other people perceiving 'information' as an attack on there beliefs. I however suggest we try to speak respectfully and go out of our way to listen to and understand people(within our limitations). We should also try to get over this labelling,eg non-believer,believer,sunni,etc. How about a theory that states that we all have elements of good and bad in us. When does belief cross over to unbelief and vice versa? I see the quran being used to stop thinking and to justify ones viewpoint,while we should realise that we do not have a monopoly on the truth. Hi Sumra, in what conditions a nikah is accepted like the father's agreement from the girl's side I dont think a Nikkah is only valid with the bride's father's agreement. All u will need for a registered marriage, will be 2 witnessess. But then the procedure of civil marriage will depend on the country where u r residing. is hugging, kissing allowed b4 marriage... is meeting secretly a major sin? Sex before marriage is prohibited. So, any physical intimacy that is likely to lead to sex is best avoided. whenever i n my bf meet v get a bit outta limits but v kinda feel bad abt it ltr thinking that allah mite get angry with us... U might wish to reconsider this coz, Life or even the relationship is not all about sex or just physical attraction. v cant disscuss it with our parents cuz in my case this isnt a right time n this mite create probs in da house... dats y i'm avoidin to get this matter infront of my parents... How old are you? And how old is ur bf? i n my bf decided to get our nikah done without our parents knowledge n whn the rite time for our marriage comes n inshallah after our parents agree then v get get da nikah done again... so i just wanted to know whether in such a case a nikah is allowed or not? Maybe I am reading this wrong... 4631 "O our people, respond to God's caller, and believe in Him. He will then forgive your sins, and spare you a painful retribution." (PM translation) ...but this Aayat does seem to be saying that "GODS CALLER" (I'm assuming the Prophet Mohammad by the surrounding Ayats) has the power to forgive sin. Thoughts Please. And We did not send any apostle but that he should be obeyed by Allah's permission; and had they, when they were unjust to themselves, come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Apostle had (also) asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful. But no! by your Lord! they do not believe (in reality) until they make you a judge of that which has become a matter of disagreement among them, and then do not find any straitness in their hearts as to what you have decided and submit with entire submission.
