Teach by the Offerings of The Lord. o Gravity of ALL Teachings, Thank you. How deep in the breast can you see the Love and Light waiting for thee? The Love is in, so when you look out you see the continuum of insight. Continuum of Presence is the Essence. Polish your mirror so that it returns Light from where it begins to where it ends. You become becoming in being of the Bliss of the One with no end nor beginning. You are being of Lord. In HIS Likeness, from the beginning to the end. Praise be to HIM. The ALL-Wise Infinite Beyond Genius of Love and Might. Why do you use words when they have no use anymore? Except to follow the bliss of the Lord, and the spaces shine with HIS light, Golden and White. o Lord, i Write and you Notice. i Follow and You bless. i Bliss and you Love. i Love and you Give. i Give and You Forgive. Isn't your Mercy my Life? isn't your Creativity my speechless bliss? am i not in your Likennes? i am not i know. but i Am YOUR Word. Your Light. YOur Presence. Your Guidance. Your Love. Your Beauty. Your Generousity. Your Teaching. Your Everything. Praise be to YOU, and Your Peace be upon me. And everyone who sings Glory of Thee. And those unaware, please show some light. So when they see, may go beyond mind. o God. i have No Words. My letters are trembling in your Presence. The mount Sinai cannot stand anymore. But you're Glorious as Always beyond. Beyond beyondment is your Bliss. The Word INFINITE seems small when your Presence shows the Essence. i Am in You. Please be in me, so that i Live Glorifying Thee. o Lord, the Edge of my sword. Be my essence, so i Shine in your Presence. o AllMighty, AllWise. Teach me o Teacher of ALL teachers YOU have designed. Aren't people ashamed to talk Creativity, when all they need is Findability? Of your Blissful Guide. So anyone becomes really noone. Full of Fullness Beyond Comprehension. hension tension goes away. You heal where anyone cannot. And i notice, what You allow. Praise be to you, My ALL-Wise, Infinite Beyond Genius and Power. Peace, Rinoni

The Earth talks. The earth talks the talk of the silence. It holds everything. Yet it's moved from the Void of nothing. Everything it holds are what can it handle from the Core. The Core is really moving. Not the Earth. The earth is isolated from the Atmosphere. It deals with translations. Everything looks as it isn't. Atmosphere of Consciousness. You look at the Earth. And it holds so many things. But when you look from beyond skies. Not many are blessed to look at the earth from beyond. The shinning beauty in fullness. Shines and shines. Shines and Enlightens. There are 6 billion earths here. Each one with the own atmosphere and gravity. Some with no core. Flying without trajctory. Some with the Clear Sky and Enlighening Light. Following the Bliss. Some in the space between the clouds. Some in the snowing rain. Everyone somewhere spinning. Some far away from light. Some trying to go nearer that they should. But everyone seeking something. Some look and look and don't see. Some see but don't look enough. Many hear and don't listen. Some listen while not hearing. What's this Clear mess? Didn't the Lord match the Gravity of Each Soul towards the Centre of All Blessing? Or you think you can spin by the own desire. Very good. Keep spinning. But you're not rotating. Grace is missing there where the face is not shinning. Shine or shine not? That's the question any Earth should talk about the answer of not being. Be-ing. Engineer of Certainity is One whose throne cannot be reached by the sight. But when the trajectories are closed. And when light is no more available when it was before. Many will see the unseen. And someone's compass will match with the map of Reality. Reality. What is it? Is is the Water on the Earth. Some are Crystal Clear. Some are polluted by the ignorance of the intellectual wc. Don't you see? What you couldn't before? Or you look without hearing. And you think without being able to. Don't think. Let the Gravity of your Trajectory spin your grace toward the Waiting Face. There is no face more shinning than when everything gets in the right place from the left side. The prisoners of time are dead. The prisoners of letters are alive in their polluted atmosphere. How many light beams it takes for you to put the glasses of Reality? How many Eagles does it take you to teach how to fly in the Clear sky? How many many does it How. Stories are myths of uncovering the covered. Open your chest to the Surrender of Love. It's One GOD, you're One Earth. And have One Core. One on One. Each in the Own Trajectory in Architecture of the Lord. See? Hear? Think? Because it's your Responsiblity. Praise be to GOD. The Lord of The Worlds. Peace, Rinon Hoxha - Ustahi
  • The Plight of the Hypocrites

Peace to all, The articles that I have write are targetted primarily for Sunni/Shia/Qadiani and any other sect. Because I think readers here may too benefit from it, Im posting my new article here. The Plight of the Hypocrites The term "non-Practicing Muslim" is very often used by ignorant people who have not grasped true faith as described in the Qur'an. Those who consider themselves "practicing" freely use the term as well as the group being referred to by the term. This term is used to describe a group of large number of people who have an Arabic name and have parents who are considered Muslim, but openly do not lead a life endorsed by Allah's religion. These people lead a life, not guided by Allah and His Book, but by their own whims and desires. They indulge in all forms of deeds without observing any of Allah's limits, purely to satisfy their own self. They never think of Allah or the existence of the Hereafter. None of their deeds are done with the intention of gaining the Paradise of Allah in the Hereafter. In short, they prefer the life of this world over the Hereafter. However, when asked about their religion, they would reply that they are Muslims, without much hesitation. Though deep inside they are very much aware of their irreligious state, they like to think of themselves as modern Muslims by not getting involved with religion in any serious way. Due to this, they are unaware of Allah who created them. If they were truly Muslim as they claim, they would have always been mindful of Allah, doing good and obeyed all the Qur'anic commandments. Though the true religion has suffered from many of its so-called followers portraying it as a backward way of life, this is not the reason why these people do not adhere to the religion of Allah. As stated before, they lead their life in that heedless way because they want to only satisfy whatever their inner-self desires, and whatever the Satan whispers to them. They are not interested in the thought of worshipping Allah or doing what is good for their Hereafter. It took the whole Qur'an, consisting of some several thousand verses to explain the characteristic of the true Muslim. Anyone who does not fit with Allah's strict definition of who a Muslim is cannot be a Muslim in Allah's sight. Allah has defined the word 'Muslim' in the Qur'an. Briefly, it is a reference for the sincere Believers who work for the Hereafter by doing good and avoiding evil for Allah's sake alone. Even etymologically, the word it self means a person who submits. In the Qur'an, the Muslim is someone who submits to Allah and His commands in the Qur'an. Muslims have other attributes in the Qur'an, for example, ?Righteous Ones? and ?The Good-doers? among many more. That is why there can be no such person as a "non-practicing Muslim" as the term is a contradiction in it self. In fact, these people are not an undefined group of people in the Qur'an. In the Qur'an, they have been identified in Surah Al-Bakarah which reads "There are some people who say, 'we believe in Allah and the Last Day', when they really do not believe. They seek to deceive Allah and those who believe, but they only deceive themselves, though they are not aware of it" (Qur'an 28-9) The disbelieving people or "non-practicing" people identified above actually do not lead a psychologically happy life either; the Qur'an states that only in the remembrance of Allah do the heart find peace and satisfaction. ?Those who have faith and whose hearts find peace in the remembrance of Allah, only in the remembrance of Allah does the heart find peace.? (Qur?an 132 Only those who love and fear Allah will receive the gift of true peace and contentment. Yet they try even harder with gaining more wealth, children and friends to gain peace and satisfaction which cannot be achieved this way, all while as they deceive themselves to be Muslims just as stated in the Verse. There are also so-called Muslims in the majority, who perform outward rituals of worship and put on a certain mannerism and dress-code, yet do not grasp the existence of Allah in His true measure. The Qur'an states in Surah An-Nur, actions of so-called ?non-Practicing Muslims? as well as all self-proclaimed disbelievers in chasing happiness are like a person chasing a mirage for water in a desert. When he thinks he has reached water, he finds nothing there, only Allah, who repays Him for His disbelieving way of life with the punishment of Hell. "But the deeds of those who disbelieve are like a mirage in a desert the thirsty person thinks there will be water but, when he gets there, he finds only Allah, who pays him his account in full - Allah is swift in reckoning." (Qur'an 2439) Surah Al-Bakarah mentions people who deceive themselves into thinking they are people who submit to Allah when they really do not believe in Allah and the Last Day without harboring doubts in their hearts. We must not forget that this includes all those who assume they are religious because they perform outward acts of worship but have no deep fear of Allah nor any of the supreme wisdom from the Qur?an. These are also deceiving themselves into being "Muslims" together with the so-called non-practicing Muslims. This is because they do not have the necessary state of mind of a Believer. They are incapable of grasping true faith and way of conduct due to their distancing themselves from the Qur'an - the only Book which explains true faith to the Believers. The true Believer treads the path of righteousness cautiously in his words and deeds. Allah has reserved a special term in the Qur?an only for hypocrites ? ?those with a disease in their hearts?, and He warns the true Believers not to fall into the ways of these people. All people striving to be Believers must make sure they do not develop this disease in their hearts while not obeying those with it. The true Believer can identify these sorts. Salat prayer and fasting are not enough to prove that a person is a real Believer, only when one's speach and deeds consistantly match the upright model of a Believer matching Qur'anic morality can one be considered a Believer. On the Day of Judgment, Allah will judge in His supreme wisdom all sorts of people. For us to know on earth which group will emerge victorious in the Hereafter and be rewarded with the eternal Garden, one has to turn to the Qur?an ? the only Book of Guidance from Allah to mankind, as Allah states ?, ?Get out, all of you! But when guidance comes from Me as it certainly will , there will be no fear for those who follow My guidance nor will they grieve ? those who disbelieve and deny our Revelations shall be inhabitants of the Fire, and there they will remain.? ? (Qur?an 238-39) Let us ask ourselves, what sort of a person are we in the sight of Allah? Are you the kind of sincere Believer who is knowledgeable of the Qur'an and works only for the sake of Allah in every moment of your life? Does every single word and deed of yours bear the motive of earning the paradise of Allah and is it in compliance with the Qur?an? Do you know what the Qur?an says? These are very important questions as only the true Believers will enter the ever-lasting Gardens of Allah - those who are truly worthy of Paradise, the sincere Believers in Allah and the Last Day who adhere to the morality of the Qur?an.

Do not talk about The GOD if you haven't found your SOUL. It is then that you may consider what beyond mind is. It is. o Lord, be my Eternal guest in my body. Let me be your Eternal guest, until we are strangers no more. One in one. Immersed and Complete. By your Decree, as you wish. My Lord. My Beauty. My Love Beyond Mind. If i try to reach your with my mind, you reach me from my SOUL. Isn't your System Perfect? Perfect beyond Comprehension. I look at the stars and see your Shine. I Look at the Moon and see your beauty. i look at the sun, and cannot look anymore. Your metaphor teaches by Reality. And what is Reality one can asnwer only after reaches the own Soul. Your part in me. The Cause of my Life. i Love GOD Beyond Mind. You taught me Teaching. You taught me what i didn't know. You taught me to unknow. You taught me your Way, my Infinity. So much light and so little words. How can i describe you my Lord? Pour the Ocean of your Wisdom through my SOUL, so that i can Complete Completion. By Your Decree. Aren't you the ALL-Wise One? The One who teaches by Example. And then feed the poor mind in your Presence. i Am poor, and you are Rich. Enrich my SOUL o my Lord so that i can live by your Word. My being sings your meant song. And the arrangement unfolds with the orchestra of the Universe. The Universe that in your Presence becomes Limited. You are My ONLY Teacher my Lord. And all the rest in whom you've shined your Light. You are that you are. Peace, Rinoni

Is the example of Paradise; that the righteous have been promised with rivers of pure water, and rivers of milk whose taste does not change, and rivers of wine that are delicious for the drinkers, and rivers of strained honey, and for them in it are all kinds of fruits, and a forgiveness from their Lord; like that of those who abide in the Fire, and are given to drink boiling water that cuts-up their intestines? ?Bring forth your witnesses who bear witness that God has forbidden intoxicants.? And do not say regarding what your tongues describe with lies ?This is lawful and that is forbidden;? that you seek to invent lies about God. Those who invent lies about God will not succeed. ?Shall I seek other than God as a judge when He has sent down to you this Scripture fully detailed?? Those to whom We have given the Scripture know it is sent down from your Lord with truth; so do not be of those who have doubt. And from the fruits of the palm trees and the grapes you make wine and a good provision. In that is a sign for a people who comprehend. Kings and leaders should not get drunk or even want to drink. Drinking makes you forget your responsibilities, and you mistreat the poor. Beer and wine are only for the dying or for those who have lost all hope. Let them drink and forget how poor and miserable they feel. But you must defend those who are helpless and have no hope. Be fair and give justice to the poor and the homeless. ?Roam the Earth and see how was the end of the criminals.? There is no sin upon those who believe and do good works for what they eat if they are aware and believe and do good work, then they are aware and believe, then they are aware and do good; God loves the good doers. And if you ask them ?Who sends down water from the sky, thus reviving the land after its death?? They will say ?God.? Say ?Praise be to God.? But most of them do not understand. ?O My servants who believed, be aware of your Lord.? The devil only wants to cause strife between you through intoxicants and gambling, and to repel you away from remembering God and from the communion. Will you be deterred? ?Who has forbidden the nice things that God has brought forth for His servants and the good provisions?? ?They are meant for those who believe during this worldly life, and they will be exclusive for them on the Day of Resurrection.? It is such that We explain the revelations for those who know. ?Have you seen what God has sent down to you from provisions, then you made some of it forbidden and some lawful?? ?Did God authorize you, or did you invent lies against God?? ?I do not ask you for any wage, nor am I a fraud.? ?It is but a reminder for the worlds.? ?And you will come to know its news after awhile.? And do not uphold what you have no knowledge of. For the hearing, eyesight, and mind, all these you are responsible for. O you who believe, why do you say what you do not do? It is most despicable with God that you would say what you do not do. God loves those who fight in His cause as one column; they are like bricks in a wall. And be patient, for God does not waste the reward of the good doers. ?Bring forth your witnesses who bear witness that God has forbidden intoxicants .? If they bear witness, then do not bear witness with them, nor follow the desires of those who deny Our revelations, and those who do not believe in the Hereafter; and they make equals with their Lord! Pay attention and try to understand what I mean. The food that you put into your mouth doesn?t make you unclean and unfit to worship God. The bad words that come out of your mouth are what make you unclean. Every plant that my Lord in heaven did not plant will be pulled up by the roots. Stay away from those Pharisees! They are like blind people leading other blind people, and all of them will fall into a ditch." Don?t any of you know what I am talking about by now? You surely know that the food you put into your mouth cannot make you unclean. It doesn?t go into your heart, but into your stomach, and then out of your body. What comes from your heart is what makes you unclean. Out of your mouth come evil thoughts, vulgar deeds, stealing, murder, unfaithfulness, deceit, indecency, envy, insults, pride, and foolishness. All of these come from your heart, and they are what make you unfit to worship God. ?I do not find in what is inspired to me forbidden except that it be already dead, or blood, or the meat of pig, for it is foul; or what is corruptly dedicated to other than God.? O you who believe, do not approach the communion while you are intoxicated, until you know what you are saying. O you who believe, do not forbid the good things that God has made lawful to you, and do not aggress; God does not like the aggressors. O you who believe, intoxicants, and gambling, and sacraments, and fortunes are foul tools used by the devil. You shall avoid him so that you may be successful. And obey God and obey the messenger, and be aware. If you turn away then know that it is the duty of the messenger to deliver clearly. They ask you about intoxicants and gambling. Say ?In them is great harm, and a benefit for the people; but their harm is greater than their benefit.? And they ask you how much they are to give, say ?The excess.? It is thus that God clarifies for you the revelations that you may think. It is not smart to get drunk! Drinking leads to fights. Do not destroy yourself by getting drunk, but let the spirit fill your life. O you who believe, obey God and obey the messenger, and those in authority amongst you. But if you dispute in any matter, then you shall refer it to God and His messenger if you believe in God and the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for knowing. And the word of your Lord has been completed with truth and justice; there is no changing His words. He is the Hearer, the Knower. ?I am but a warner; and there is no god besides God, the One, the Supreme.? ?The Lord of the heavens and the Earth, and everything between them; the Noble, the Forgiving.? Praise be to God the Lord of the worlds! I am of those who submits.

Now I am at the very place where he lived.. Coincidence? I do not believe in such things. Hope to meet some of you very soon over there. Peace

Peace, I was wondering if anyone has any tips on getting to grips with the relevent Arabic needed to understand the Quran. I tried using the 'burquan' website, but my knowledge is just too poor to understand the words and their roots etc. I am pretty sure not all of you are Arabic scholars/Arabic speakers but have implemented successful policies in order to understand the Quran and have become very knowledgable. Wanna share your secret!!!! Roshan

Salaamun ALL This isn't for the members here, but for new comers. This thread was lost during the server problem. 1965 ... so worship Him alone, and remain steadfast in His worship Dost thou know any whose name is worthy to be mentioned SIDE BY SIDE with His?" (Btw, the proper term is not 'worship' but 'serve.) As this verse indicates, it is shirk, to mention ANY name SIDE BY SIDE with His. You will notice that, in Al-Qur-an, Allah, never mentions His name and the name Muhammad, side by side with His own. Allah, however, does say He and His "Messenger", NOT Allah and Muhammad or Allah and the Prophet. The following verses, ayat 2131 in particular, gives he proper declaration of submission 318 There is no god but He 318 That is the witness of Allah, His angels, and those endued with knowledge, standing firm on justice. 318 There is no god but He, the Exalted in Power, the Wise. You will notice that, Allah, mentions "There is no god but He, yet, there is NO mention of..."and Muhammad is His Messenger", did Allah forget to mention that? 2.124 And when his Lord tried Ibrahim with certain words, he fulfilled them. He said Surely I will make you an Imam of men. Ibrahim said And of my offspring? My covenant does not include the unjust, said He. 4.125 And who has a better religion than he who submits himself entirely to Allah? And he is the doer of good (to others) and follows the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and Allah took Ibrahim as a friend. "Our Lord! make of us Muslims, bowing to Thy (Will), and of our progeny a people Muslim, bowing to Thy (Will); and show us our place for the celebration of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in Mercy); for Thou art the Oft-Relenting, Most Merciful. "Our Lord! send amongst them a Messenger of their own, who shall rehearse Thy Signs to them and instruct them in scripture and wisdom, and sanctify them For Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise." And who turns away from the religion of Abraham but such as debase their souls with folly? Him We chose and rendered pure in this world And he will be in the Hereafter in the ranks of the Righteous. Behold! his Lord said to him "Submit (thy will to Me)" He said "I submit (my will) to the Lord and Cherisher of the Universe."

And no question do they bring to thee but We reveal to thee the truth and the best explanation (thereof). 15.1 Alif Lam Ra. These are the verses of the Book and (of) a Quran that makes (things) clear. 262 These are the verses of the Book that makes (things) clear. 271 Ta Sin! These are the verses of the Quran and the Book that makes (things) clear 282 These are the verses of the Book that makes (things) clear. 432 I swear by the Book that makes things clear 16.64 And We have not revealed to you the Book except that you may make clear to them that about which they differ, ind (as) a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe. 16.89 ...and We have revealed the Book to you explaining clearly everything, and a guidance and mercy and good news for those who submit. 638 ...Nothing have We omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end. 2530 Then the Messenger will say "O my Lord! Truly my people treated this Qur?n with neglect." CLEARLY, then, for those who say they BELIEVE what Allah SAYS, these verses should put to rest for good any notion that Muslims are required to perform a ritual prayer/salat. If a ritual prayer was/is required, then Allah would have CLEARLY detailed, from beginning to end, exactly how to do a raka/ritual prayer.

Salam, Are you a Muslim or one who submits his/her whole being to God? If so, there is no Islam beyond La ilaha ilaa Allah or there is no god except God. Here is the support for this Surely, those who believe and those who are Jewish and the Christians and the Sabians; whoever believes in God and the last day, they neither worry nor shall they grieve. Qur'an, 262 Assuming you bought that, here is your free piece do good, according to your heart-- not what anyone else says. There is not one law in the Qur'an that you already don't know. Every guiding post in the Qur'an is already in your heart, if you stop and stand still... and listen. Now, how do you do good? By, of course, believing ALL of your actions will be held for/against you at a 'later' day. Hence questioning whether everything you do is right or wrong, following your heart. Easy, eh? Why complicate things by going over stupid details? Cheers cool

Peace all, I am trying to understand why would God Almighty, the One and Only, swear by the 'Day of Resurrection' and by a 'blaming (accused) soul', as understood by various interpretations as follows (taken from Quran.org) 075.001 YUSUFALI I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; PICKTHAL Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; SHAKIR Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. KHALIFA I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 075.002 YUSUFALI And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit (Eschew Evil). PICKTHAL Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). SHAKIR Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. KHALIFA And I swear by the blaming soul. Note that Yusufali makes somewhat sense when he interprets to quote that God is calling us to witness the Day of Resurrection (751) and again in 752 when God is calling to witness the disgraceful soul on that day (perhaps the one who disobeyed God in the first place, ie. Iblis), without God swearing. Perhaps these verses could have been misinterpreted or misjudged altogether. Can anyone please further enlighten?
  • ALLAHU AKBAR, IS SHIRK AND SO ARE THE FIVE RITUAL "PRAY

SALAAMUN ALL I may posted this earlier, but a couple of my threads were deleted during the recent server problem. Anyway, Allahu Akbar, is shirk and so are the five so-called ritual prayers/salats. Allahu Akbar, is mentioned repeatedly throughout the Muslims 's day and all through the so-called ritual prayer/salat this same slogan is repeated time and again, yet, NOWHERE in Al-Qur-an, does Allah refer to Himself as Akbar. To say Allahu akbar then, is to commit shirk, because it isn't His name, hence, Muslims, for all intent and purpose, must be calling on something other than Allah. With this in mind then, the Messenger, could not have not have lead anyone in any ritual so-called prayer/salat, because he could NOT have called Allah by any name other than what He authorized in Al-Qur-an. Here are some very important questions you must ask yourself. If you answer them truthfully, then any confusion about this issue or whether or not you should do some ritual salat/prayer, will be immediately cleared up. Do you believe in Allah? Do you believe what Allah says? Do you believe Allah is perfect? Do you believe Al-Qur-an is perfect? Do you believe that Al-Qur-an is... a. complete? b. fully detailed? c. leaves nothing out? If so, Where does one find a complete/fully detailed raka from beginning to end? Where does Allah state that, His Din, is based on "five pillars"? Where do you find the names of the five so-called ritual prayers (show me ASR salat in Al-Qur-an)? Where does one find the "ablution" as Muslims currently practice? Where does one find the word...wudu in Al-Qur-an? Why does Allah tell you to? Wash face; 2. hands; 3. arms to elbow; 4. wipe your head.; 5. wipe feet up to ankles, and you do this Carefully wash his hands; 2. Rinse and clean his mouth; 3. Rinse and clean his nose; 4. Wash his face; 5. Wash his arms up to the elbows; 6. Lightly brush his hair; 7. ears with his wet hands; 8. Wash his feet up to the ankles. Don't you obey Allah, so why the additional items in your..wudu, did Allah forget to mention them, do others know better than Allah? There is no wudu and there is no ritual prayer.

Salaamun The following is her attacks on The Qur-an Only Advocates and myself. This is from www.understanding-islam.org Tajmaha Starting Member Saudi Arabia 24 Posts Posted - 09/26/2003 132321 Creation32, Dhulqarnain has no agenda except to attack Islam. The "Quoran Only" is a fancy name but it is just a mask to lure inexperienced Muslims, those who take others at face value. In reality the "Quoran Only" is nothing but a Satanic cult with the purpose of attacking Islam, and what better way to do so than to use the Quoran to fulfil that vicious purpose. Dhulqarnain and his partners don't care what the Quoran has to say about their claims, as you must have clearly realized. Their aim/target is to replace certainty with doubt. If they managed to turn at least one member in any forum from believing in the role of Muhammad (PP&BBUH) and thus from performing the rituals of Islam then that is a great success/accomplishment to them. So that they then can leave the forum, confident that that person is going to continue their hideous job, and so on. You can check how Dhulqarnain is continuing his vise now on the following forums http//forums.about.com/Islamic1/start http//www.free-minds.org/forum/ Take a look at what he once wrote on this forum , http//forums.about.com/ab-islam/start/?lgnF=y, revealing one of his cult's main strategies *** The corrupters of the bible didn't need to take out "big verses" to be effective/ meet their objectives to lead men astray, to truly be effective is to simply create....DOUBT, of which they have done a remakably good job.. *** !!!!!!! That was Dhulqarnain's legacy. On that particular forum, I fought Dhulqarnain tooth and nail when everybody else chose to put him on the ignore list and spare themselves the headache. And of course it goes without saying the sort of words he used to attack me. The moderator, unexpectedly, chose to be quite about it this time ( She kicked him out once before and put a block on him but because her identity is known to everybody and because Dhulqarnain is the way he is, as nothing can possibly stop him from committing a criminal attack against anybody, she, for her own safety, I believe, decided to open the door once again to him and to remain completely silent over his horrendous attitude. Between him and I, it was nothing less than a war, not to mention his straight-out-of-Hell partner, Aisha(AYM2) who is toying with the Quoran in such an unprecedented way. So they were two against me...yet I chose to fight for the sake of one member, yusuf (YOSEF121), who was, surprisingly, drifting to their side. I couldn't imagine that he would fall for their deceit. Sadly and diappointedly, he did. Now he is one of their main advocates! There is plenty to tell, but I just wanted everybody to be aware of corruptors like Dhulqarnain and not to make the same mistake I made once when I believed that Dhulqarnain is a true Muslim. I couldn't imagine, because of my limited experience, that he was actually Satan under cover. Ronnie did more than good when he ended Dhulqarnain's membership. Ronnies's patience and tolerance as well as his last move are all to be applauded. Salam all, Can anyone explain to me the seeming discrepancy between 3953.Say ?O My servants who transgressed against themselves, do not despair of God's mercy. For God forgives all sins. He is the Forgiver, the Merciful.? and God does not forgive that partners be set-up with Him, and He forgives what is beside that for whom He wills. Whoever sets-up partners with God Has indeed invented a great sin. Peace, Tony

Editorial Returning to the true Islam Dr Mahathir Mohamad Sept 23, 2003 Text of speech by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, yesterday. I HAVE chosen to speak on a very sensitive and controversial subject, "Islam and the Ummah Re-examining and Reinventing Ourselves in the Face of New Challenges". I hope I don't touch any raw nerve by doing so. First, does Islam need to be re-examined? To determine whether it should or should not, we have to understand the fundamentals of Islam, the original Islam as brought and preached by the Prophet, and see whether there is any difference between this Islam and the Islam that we believe in and practise today. We cannot change the fundamentals of Islam or we will be changing the message and the teachings of Islam as brought by the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad. We will, in fact, be changing the religion of Islam. And it cannot then be Islam any more. All we can do is to determine whether the Islam of today has deviated due to the interpretations of the fundamentals in order to suit changing circumstances. We cannot and must not accept a "New Testament" for Islam. Islam changed the feuding Arab tribes into a united, highly organised and sophisticated people who built a great civilisation which lasted 1,300 years. But today, the followers of Islam, the Muslims, are no longer the great people they were in the early years of Islam. The great Muslim civilisation has almost disappeared and the Muslims today are looked down upon, oppressed and humi-liated, their religion said to be a terrorist creed, propagated by a terrorist prophet. Yet we know from the Quran that the Prophet brought glad tidings to the human commu-nity and promised good to those who accepted Islam. And we always pray to Allah for good (hassanah) in this world, and good (hassanah) in the akhirat. The prayers by Nabi Adam Alaihissalam on his arrival on earth in Surah AlBaqarah, verse 201 clearly stated that he asked "Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the hereafter". Can we honestly say that the situation of the Muslim in this world today is good? It certainly is not. And if it is not, is it because of Islam, because of its teachings? Or is it because changes have been made to Islam so that it is no longer in accordance with the original teachings of Islam. Changes occur to everything over time. All religions change over time. All ideas and values change over time. The Christian religion, for example, has changed and changed again until the early Christians must find it impossible to reconcile their Christianity with that practised today. The sins of yesteryear are now no longer sins, so much so that even the priests can indulge in them openly. The same things happen to the ideals of egalitarian ideologies. The French Revo-lution was supposed to be about liberty, equality and fraternity, but no equality was accorded to the aristocrats. Over time, the ideals of the Revolution evolved into socialism, communism; and then to the Dicta-torship of the Proletariat, the dictatorship of a few in the communist regimes. Millions were killed during the evolution of the egalitarian ideas of socialism and communism. Eventually, the ideals of liberty, equality and brotherhood were made convenient excuses for denying them to those opposed to the communist elites. Today, we are seeing the same thing happening to democracy. It has become an excuse for applying sanctions, denying food and medicine, and finally to war against innocent people, killing and maiming them, invading and occupying their countries. The wishes of the majority are negated by the veto of one, even as it talks about pro-moting democratic processes. And we can expect more changes to the application of democracy until a dictatorship of demo-cracy eventually destroys the great ideals. As with the communists, the wheel would turn full cycle. Clearly, it is not just Islam which needs to be re-examined. All the religions, the ideo-logies and the value systems of the world's human community need to be re-examined. But we are, of course, concerned today with the religion of Islam. Is it the religion that the Prophet preached or is it different? If it is, then is it responsible for the sad state of the Muslims today? Or is it because the religion has been changed that it cannot deliver the good that was promised? Is it true as some would have us believe that what the Muslims suffer today have been pre-ordained by Allah and Muslims will just have to endure it? Is it true that they will enjoy heaven in the next world because of their sufferings on this earth? The Quran says that all that is bad is from us and all that is good is from Allah. So we must conclude that the present miserable fate which we suffer, our oppression by others and the denigration of our religion is due to us, not pre-ordained by Allah. If that is so, then we must find out what we have done which is wrong, which is not in accordance with the teachings of Islam, and has brought misfortune upon us. We have to know this and in knowing we have to correct ourselves and return to the true Islam so we may once again be blessed by Allah. Islam as all Muslims know is not just a religion, a belief in the one God, Allah, in His Prophet. It is not just about the performance of certain rituals, the avoidance of sins. Islam is a way of Life Addin. Islam governs every aspect of the life of the Muslims. It guides their behaviour and everything that they do, as individuals, as a community. But is our way of life today Islamic? Many of us believe that by the Islamic way of life we must wear certain dresses, keep a beard and cover our body or awrat. But this is not everything as a way of life. Some Muslim reformers then began to question the orthodox views of the Muslim scholars. They wanted to "modernise", to emulate the Europeans. Some went so far as to believe that only by discarding Islam and becoming secular could Muslims regain their pre-eminence. They achieved very little success in the face of strong opposition by the influential orthodox scholars. The problem was that some of the reformers were too much influenced by the European concept of the separation of state from the church. It may be possible in the Christian context. It is not possible in the Muslim world. Islam is a way of life and a way of life cannot be compartmentalised into spiritual and material. Everything that a person does is part of a way of life. Certainly, the system of government of a country and its development is a part of the way of life. It is entirely possible to be Islamic even if a modern administration or system, including democracy, is adopted. It is possible if we go back to the fundamentals of Islam. The problem is that Muslims tend to emphasise and venerate the form rather than the substance in the practice of everything. Even in mo-dernisation they look for the form. Thus, clothing to cover the body is translated as the wearing of the Arab dress. That the other forms of dress, including the now universal coat and trousers can also cover the body is regarded as being of no merit, unIslamic. Reading to acquire knowledge is interpreted as reading to acquire Islamic religious knowledge only. Defence of the ummah is interpreted as veneration of the ancient weapons of war. Perhaps this sounds too simplistic. But what is one to make of the neglect of learning and defence in the Muslim world? Must Muslims forever buy their weapons from others, some of whom may be their enemies? Surely, they must have indigenous capacities to invent and produce their defence needs themselves. To do this, they must learn science, mathematics, technology and the rest. Far from regarding the pursuit of these subjects as not as good as the study of Islamic theology, it should be regarded as an ibadah, which should gain merit for the individual and merit for the community. But to focus on the defence of the ummah will need political stability and economic wealth. And so Muslims must learn to restrain themselves and to make what ever system of government they adopt, work. Democracy is compatible with Islam. The Prophet did not create a dynasty. He left it to his followers to choose from among themselves a leader, a Khalifah. It was only later that the Muslim dynasties were set up. One can say that a system where the leader is chosen by an electorate, regardless of his antecedents, is much more Islamic than otherwise. Having been elected, a leader must care for his people, for the ummah. And caring means ensuring his people will have food, clothing and shelter and be secu-red from domestic or foreign ag-gression. If the fundamentals of Islam are adhered to, there should not be conflicts and wars between Muslims. The fundamentals cannot differ. Muslims are brothers. This is fundamental to Islam. But we are hardly brothers to each other. We are ready to accuse each other of being apostates and we are ready to kill each other. Islam means peace. We wish peace upon each other. This is also fundamental to Islam. We only fight against those who attack us, be they Muslims or non-Muslims. When the enemy sues for peace Muslims must respond positively. But we are doing none of these fundamental things. Today, Muslims are labelled as terrorists. We don't think that it is justified. We may be right. But the fact is that we are killing people because of our anger regardless of who we kill, regardless of the consequences. Admittedly, we are desperate and outgunned and there is very little else we can do to defend ourselves against the injustice perpetrated against us. But should we just lash out indiscriminately, killing innocent people, including those who sympathise with us? Shouldn't we stop to think, to plan and to strategise with ultimate victory as our goal? Is it impossible to do this? If we think rationally, we must admit that it is possible. What have we got after almost 100 years of fighting? Nothing. Even our anger is not assuaged. We are, in fact, getting more angry. If we think, then we must realise that our present predicament is not pre-ordained by Allah. It is entirely due to our own doing. We have neglected and misinterpreted the teachings of Islam. When we should be acquiring knowledge which can help us ward off the attacks against us, we reject such knowledge. We rely merely on praying to Allah for help when Allah has said in the Quran that we have to help ourselves first before He will help us. We have not helped ourselves, not in the right way as prescribed by our religion. We do not have a need to reinvent Islam. Islam is perfect and is for all times. The present age does not make Islam irrelevant. It is relevant if we stick to the fundamentals, if we interpret them correctly. The problem is with the interpretation of Islam. It has not only divided the ummah but it has made the ummah practically illiterate, incapable of dealing with even the simple problems of governing ourselves. The fundamentals of Islam are still relevant. We must go back to the fundamentals, to reading in order to acquire knowledge, to the brotherhood of the Muslims, to the way of life as pres-cribed by Islam, to the substance of the teachings of Islam in the Quran and the verified hadith and not to the forms of Islam or the weak unverified hadith. Islam is still the perfect religion. It is the Muslims who are not perfect, who have allowed themselves to misinterpret Islam, to deviate from the teachings of Islam. Muslims must correct themselves and it is they who must change, not through discarding Islam but through going back to the true, the funda-mental Islam. The fundamentals of Islam are good. The early Muslims who succeeded in building the great Islamic civilisation must be fundamentalists, for the numerous and contradictory interpre-tations of Islam had not yet emerged to confuse and confound. The Prophet brought to us only one religion of Islam. Today, there are hundreds of Islams. We have to go back to the one Islam brought by the Prophet. We must do so as thinking Man, not as emotional Man. We can face the challenges of our times not by giving vent to our anger, our frustrations and our bitterness. We must instead use the brain, that thinking capacity that Allah has en-dowed us with. We take stock of our assets, we plan and we strategise. And Allah has endowed us with riches beyond imagination. We have certain strengths, which we must identify and apply with wisdom. Above all, we must reduce the en-mity between us, if not completely, at least selectively to face the threat against us. There is no magic in the successes of our detractors. We can do what they can do. But we have to rid ourselves of the baggage of history and focus comp-letely on the problems we face today. And, Insya Allah, we will overcome the challenges without losing our faith or deviating from the fundamental teachings of Islam. We must certainly re-examine the Islam that we practise. We have no need to reinvent it when facing the new challenges of today. But we must certainly correct the wrong interpretations of Islam if we are to overcome the threats and humiliation that we face.
