Peace, I propose a separate section that can be a 'lounge' or general discussion area rather than having the general forum here cluttered with these discussions. This would allow a freer area to discuss events of daily life, and significant things for us, discoveries etc. It would promote a friendlier atmosphere amongst participants. I was surfing the web and found the following interesting group of people who are beard and moustache enthusiasts http//www.worldbeardchampionships.com/ Here are some photos of the winners and champions http//www.worldbeardchampionships.com/Gallery/gallery.html Interesting that there were no mullahs amongst the contestants. 1400 years of beard growing should have made them clear leaders in this. lol Just kidding.

Peace to all I am not sure how many of you are member or visitor of 19.org forum. It has been home for me and many other like this one. This forum has been down for last few days due to technical difficulties of server and is told to be back soon GW. Loosing such forums like this one is a big loss for members when they loos hours of time for preparing their article and posts. I am not sure how many of us saves their writing in heir pc for backup. But is not easy to sort them out for search . Any serve can be shut down as their salutation change with economy unless to have a back up in administrators pc . Recovering the forum with another server usulay takes more time. However I came to this conclusion to refresh the forum and ask for assistance from few embers of 19.org which the response was positive. With consultant with one of administrator which is full of energy and is new in this forum ?idmkhizar? we concluded to open a category offering a forum for members of this forum , 19.org and Quranist O Line to have their section with full control to moderate it. You can copy and past your important discussion post into your own forum and people can discuss there too.. We are backing up the forum regularly and keep it up to date. The active members of this forum with longer period of membership are quite welcome as our capacity is limited and we are not another Yahoo. For now ?idmkhizer ? is in charge for registering your forum . In absence you can contact other administrators as well. Please do not hesitate to contact him by PM in this forum You can visit the forum here. http//www.y19.net/phpBB2/index.php bahman Peace.

Slaves Unity in people will bring down any corrupt system. Fighting is enjoined on you, and it is an object of dislike to you; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know. Quran 2216 Day after day, year after year, our people whether Muslim or non-Muslim, black or white, are victims of a global mass holocaust. Inside prison walls, locked in steel cages, our people made nameless, just a number on Babylons slave list. We hear of their situation and do nothing. We see them struggle and do not offer them a hand. May Allah curse those who turn away. You shall believe in Allah and His Messenger, and struggle hard in Allah's way with your property and your lives; that is better for you, did you but know! Quran 6111 When someones Mother is murdered and maimed, that is your Mother that has been killed. When someones sister is beaten and gang raped, it is your sister that has been raped. As the minds of our children inhale the plague of wickedness; evil is triumphant. When bombs are dropped on the homes of our siblings, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, evil is triumphant. So long as we do nothing; evil will forever remain triumphant. And (as for) those who strive hard for Us, We will most certainly guide them in Our ways; and Allah is most surely with the doers of good. Quran 2969 Day after day, year after year our people sit in a prison wondering if there is a God. Praying there will arise a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong. Day after day, year after yearnothing. May Allah reward 10 fold those who fight when directly oppressed. May Allah reward 100 fold those who fight for the oppressed, when NOT directly oppressed. As we lean back in our recliners and play video games; the oppressed in prison prostrate on their faces praying for Allah to help them. As we pile up food and provision in our homes; the war torn victims of the world prostrate them selves in the dirt asking Allah for food. As we enjoy the comfortable luxuries and materialism that pours from the whore of Babylon; the plagues of HIV and other man-made poisons slowly eat away and consume the mind, body and spirit of our family. Those who believed and fled (their homes), and strove hard in Allah's way with their property and their souls, are much higher in rank with Allah; and those are they who are the achievers (of their objects). Quran 920 We have been given a choice to fast for the sake of Allah. Others starve because they have no choice. We have been given knowledge and the keys to the Kingdom; others remain locked in the Pit of Satans prison. EVERYDAY we hear of wars and rumors of wars. Those with eyes to see and hears to hearhear the cries of slaves in bondage. We are without excuse this day and age. With modern technology we can see the atrocities every time we turn on the T.V. EVERYDAY we hear of murder and war. Everyday we hear the laughter of the Babylonian whore. Everyday believers are killed. Everyday the devils sharpen their sword. And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits. Quran 2190 Those who fight for power, glory and fame, are the furthest thing from Islam. Fight the oppressor to save the oppressed, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, for the sake of love, for the sake of Allah. Those who oppress and call themselves Muslims, are the furthest thing from Islam. Those who wage war to cause division, are the furthest thing from Islam. So long as we remain prisoners of race, culture and divided religion, we will continue to be slaves, oppressed. We can drive down the road of almost and state in America and see cows in fences getting fattened up waiting to be slaughtered. Although to most this is an everyday occurrence and completely normal; these cows are slaves. Born and raised in bondage, these cows have learned to accept their situation, not realizing the horror that awaits. We are merely reflections of these cattle. Born and raised in bondage, we do not see ourselves as slaves. We have become comfortable with our materialistic lifestyles. As long as bombs arent dropping on OUR heads, as long as WE are not being invaded, raped and slaughtered, we continue to forsake our siblings throughout the world that DO have bombs dropping on their heads, and ARE being invaded, raped and slaughtered. Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong and these it is that shall be successful. Qur'an 3104 Remember the Mothers crying at their childrens graves as they pray for their childs soul. Remember the innocent prisoner as he has been sitting in his cell for the last 50 years, staring at the wall, giving up hope in Allah. Remember the starving children that are so weak they cant swat the flies that eat away at their open wounds. As we sleep with full stomachs warm in our beds, too lazy to get up in the middle of the night for Tahajjud prayers, remember the Mujahid as he watches the terrain while his comrades sleep. We must make a stand and fight for truth. This will not be an easy fight. Hardship awaits. Through hardship we will find Heavens gates. On this journey through life we will experience heart-breaking atrocities, and learn even our own brother can betray. And they sold him for a small price, a few pieces of silver, and they showed no desire for him. Quran 1220 How could we know good unless we know evil? Now that we know evillets crush it. Whoever brings good, he shall have better than it; and they shall be secure from terror on the day. And whoever brings evil, these shall be thrown down on their faces into the fire; shall you be rewarded (for) aught except what you did? Quran 2789-90 http//www.taliyah.org

Ashura A Time for Direct Action By Abu Jamal "Every day is Ashura and every land is Karbala." - Imam Jafar As-Sadiq (as) Islam is a revolution. Islam is not a safety-net for the masses, to keep tucked away as spiritual insurance in the event that iniquitous come to face the consequences of their deeds. Islam is an active, vibrant way of life; the Din. Islam is not a religion for those content to listen to a speech that pats them on the back and allows them to feel contented until their nagging conscious deteriorates the callous placed over their heart. Islam is not for those with such a covering over their hearts, enjoying them so much ease at living a life of inaction and complicity in the face of a world ridden with injustice. Islam is a revolution. Those who are Muslim are called in the Qur'an and Ahadith the "Shi'a," the "Partisans" of Muhammad (sal) and his Family, the Ahl al-Bayt. Those who are Muslims are ones who "Submit" to the Will of Allah, even in the face of dire oppression and seemingly terrible consequences. For the Muslim, Faith, Love and Servitude of Allah are the primary goals of living one's live. Concern is given to personal comfort, safety and the like. However, when faced with the Islamic obligation to "oppose evil and enjoin what is right" then it becomes the moral imperative of all Muslims to take a stand in the face of the opposition, no matter how uneven the odds may seem. For unlike the kaffirun, we as Muslims, have a Power on our side that not even all the forces and legions of Shaiytan could muster any true competition against. Allah is the best of Knowers and the best of Planners. Enacting the Will of Allah does not always guarantee comfort, safety or ease in this world, but it promises us fulfillment of our Master's wishes, and Paradise in the Hereafter. If Allah chooses that we should die in the hands of the infidels, or that we should be imprisoned in the cages of Babylon, then this is Allah's Plan, and by it we shall be saved. And through this, the whole world shall be elevated - in time - to a state of Islam. For the Muslim, there is no doubt as to the Reality of this. The Shi'a There is no god save Allah, there is no religion save Islam, there are no believers save the Partisans of Allah, Hu's Prophets, and the Ahl al-Bayt. This is affirmed by both Sunni and Shi'a Ahadith. To be of Allah's "Partisans" or "Shi'a" means to be an active "Participant" in the revolution of Islam. Islam is not Faith for the bystanders who would wish to sit by and cheer on the Mujahidun. Islam is a revolution. It is a testimony to the craftiness of the deceiver (Iblis) that throughout the past 1,400 years we have seen the rise and fall of so many kaffirun masquerading in the name of Islam, while carrying out the most grievous oppressions in the name of our Holy Faith. From the time of the betrayal of Imam Ali (as) - when even some well meaning Muslims were turned to the fire of their nafs - to Mu'awiyya, the Khawarij, and the Umayyads all the way to the Salafi/Wahabi acts of terror perpetrated against our own Muslim brethren and sistren, Shaiytan has throughout these centuries elected his emissaries of kufr to wage internal war within the Ummah to degrade it and pervert the Qur'an to say what their itching ears want to hear. Shi'a Islam - the Only Islam that Allah or Hu's Messengers ever spoke of - takes the Path of Truth, the Path that sometimes brings us face to face with the oppressor, and demands that we bring an end to his reign of terror, or we die as Shuhaha (Martyrs/Witnesses) in our attempts. And Allah will bear Witness to the Truth through our shed blood. For even as the letter "Mim" is as a seed, a single sperm cell, so too through the Seed of Musa (as), Muhammad (sal), Mahdi and Masih shall the blood of the martyrs - from the Righteous Abel (as), to Yahya (as), to Ali (as), to Husayn (as) to the Mujahidun of today and into the reign of Imam Al-Mahdi - be poured over the Seal of the planted Seed of Islam. And in this very generation, we will see the fulfillment of the rule of Imam Al-Mahdi as that Seed breaks forth through the Seal placed over it by Muhammad (sal), and blossoms into a Tree of Life, nourished and fertilized by the blood of those slain in the name of Truth and Justice. "The history of Islam follows a strange path; a path in which gangsters and ruffians from the Arab, Persian, Turk, Tartar and Mongol dynasties all enjoyed the right to the leadership of the Moslem community and to the Khalifatate of the Prophet of Islam, to the exclusion of the family of the Prophet and the rightful Imams of Islam. And Shi'ism begins with a "No"; a "No" which opposes the path chosen by history, and rebels against history. It rebels against a history which, in the name of the Qur'an, Kings and Caesars, follows the path of ignorance, and in the name of tradition, sacrifices those brought up in the house of the Qur'an and the Traditions! "Shi'ites do not accept the path chosen by history. They deny the leaders who ruled the muslims throughout history and deceived the majority of the people through their succession to the Prophet, and then by their supposed support of Islam and fight against paganism. Shi'ites turn their backs on the opulent mosques and magnificent palaces of the Khalifats of Islam and turn to the lonely, mud house of Fatima. Shi'ites, who represent the oppressed, justice-seeking class in the Khalifatate system, find in this house whatever and whoever they have been seeking." - Dr. `Ali Shariati, world renowned Sociologist and follower of Shi'a Islam. Notes Taken from the book "Red Shi'ism vs.Black Shi'ism" Ashura In the month of Muharram 61 AH (approximately, the 20 of October 680 AD), an event took place in Iraq at a place known as Karbala on the bank of the river Euphrates. A large army which had been mobilized by the Umayyad regime besieged a group of Shi'a numbering less than a hundred and put them under pressure to pay allegiance to the Khalifat of the time and submit to his authority. The small group resisted and a severe battle took place in which they were all killed. The leader of the small band of men who were martyred in Karbala was Husayn (as), son of Ali bin Abi Talib (as) and grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sal), the Seal of the Prophets. Husayn (as) was the son of Fatima (as) the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (sal). The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sal) once said regarding his grandson "Husayn is from me and I am from Husayn. May Allah love whoever loves Husayn." Notes Ibn Majah Sunan, Hadith 144. As well " the chief youths of Paradise." Notes Ibn Maja, Sunan, Vol. 1, p.44, No. 118. And "He who has loved Hasan and Husayn has loved me and he who has hated them has hated me." Notes Ibn Maja, Sunan, Vol. 1, p. 51, No. 143. With the passing away of his brother Hasan (as) in 50 AH, Husayn (as) became the leader of the Ahl al-Bayt, and consequently the third Imam of the Muslims. He respected the agreement of peace signed by Hasan (as) and Mu'awiyya, and, despite the urging of his followers, he did not undertake any activity that threatened the peace with the undeserving Mu'awiyya. Rather he continued with the responsibility of looking after the religious needs of the people and was recognized for his knowledge, piety and generosity. An example of the depth of his perception can be seen in his beautiful du'a on the day of Arafat, wherein he begins by explaining the qualities of Allah, saying "(Oh Allah) How could an argument be given about Your Existence by a being whose total and complete existence is in need of you? When did you ever disappear so that you might need an evidence and logic to lead (the people) towards You? And when did You ever become away and distant so that your signs and effects made the people get in touch with you? Blind be the eye which does not see You (whereas) You are observing him. What did the one who missed You find? And what does the one who finds You lack? Certainly, the one who got pleased and inclined toward other than You, came to nothingness (failed)." Kaffir Yazid was the son of kaffir Mu'awiyya and grandson of kaffir Abu Sufyan - the arch-enemy of the Prophet Muhammad (sal). Mas'udi writes that Yazid was a pleasure-seeking person, given to drunkenness and filthy living. Small wonder that Husayn's response to Yazid's governor, when asked to pay allegiance to Yazid was, "We are the household of the Prophethood, the source of Messengership, the descending-place of the Angels, through us Allah had began (showering Hu's favours) and with us Hu has perfected (Hu's favours), whereas Yazid is a sinful person, a drunkard, the killer of innocent people and one who openly indulges in sinful acts. A person like me can never pledge allegiance to a person like him..." Notes Sayyid ibn Ta'us Maqtalu'l Husayn, pp.10-11 The revolution of Husayn (as) was an Islamic movement spearheaded by one of the greatest leaders of Islam. The principles and laws of Islam demanded that Husayn (as) act to warn the Ummah of the evil situation which it was in, and to stand in the way of the deviating ruler. As Husayn (as) himself remarked when he left Madina for the last time, "I am not rising (against Yazid) as an insolent or an arrogant person, or a mischief-monger or tyrant. I have risen (against Yazid) as I seek to reform the Ummah of my grandfather. I wish to bid the good and forbid the evil." Notes Al-Khatid al-Khuwarazmi Maqtalu'l Husayn ,vol.1, p.88 Husayn (as) was warned not to go to Karbala and face kaffir Yazid. Western historians have considered his moved to continue on, in spite of that warning, to be of the gravest political folly. Yet few apart from the Shi'a have recognized the motivation of his actions, and noted the preciseness with which they were carried out. In this is the Message of Ashura The Message of Ashura Husayn (as) was killed on the battlefield as he did Sajdah. His head was removed from his body on the plains of Karbala, mounted on a spear, and paraded through villages and towns as it was taken to Damascus and presented at the feet of Yazid. To the kaffirun he looked, and looks, like a fool. This is because to the temporal-minded man his actions of self-less devotion to the cause of Allah seem fruitless since he gained nothing physically, and lost everything of this world on account of devotion and service to Allah. However, it is more than abundantly clear that Husayn (as) was aware of the dangers that he would certainly encounter in Karbala. Clearly Husayn (as) had in mind a certain strategy to bring about a revolution in the consciousness of the Ummah. It is clear that Husayn did not try to organize military support, nor to even fully exploit the military strength which was already available to him. In fact he specifically asked his supporters to abandon him as he headed for Kufa. All of Imam Husayn's (as) actions demonstrate that he was fully aware of the reality that mere military conquests are temporal victories that do nothing to change the hearts or consciousness of mankind. In time another power will be mustered of greater strength and it will topple the empire before it. Truthfully, in the rising and falling of nations are many signs for those who reflect. If Husayn (as) would have accepted the iniquitous manner of Yazid's lifestyle then this would not merely have been an acceptance of values and norms contrary to the Din of Islam, it would have detrimentally impacted the Ummah for all time to come. Yazid's manner of living would have come to prevail and be accepted by Muslims who would have thusly reverted to the wickedness of those who Muhammad (sal) came to and reformed. It would have, in short, undone what Muhammad (sal) and the Imams before Husayn (as) had done. Husayn (as) was no ordinary man. Like the other Imams and the 14 Infalibles, he was endowed with a perception clearer than those not of his station. An average man would have turned away when warned. He would not have risked being killed in the manner that Husayn (as) was killed. At the very least, even if the man were a courageous man, he would have taken the advice of his uncle Ibn Abbas and left his family and newborn child behind. Yet Imam Husayn's (as) vision was clear and he strove onward with his family accompanying him. Aware of the nature of the tyrannical kaffirun pitted against him, Husayn (as) knew that upon his own martyrdom, his family would be captured and taken as prisoners of war, from Kufa to Damascus. This caravan of Muhammad's (sal) own flesh and blood in captivity would publicize the message of Husayn's (as) martyrdom, and ultimately of the path to Hell which the Ummah was being led down by the Umayyads. Just as Imam Husayn knew, these things came to pass. As he begged the infidels to spare his infant son, and to permit his son some water to drink (as both women and children among Husayn's people were being deprived of such resources by the Umayyads), these demons shot an arrow through the throat of his son, the great grandchild of the Prophet Muhammad (sal). Husan (as) fought diligently against this horde of devils, but his strength and perseverance was overcome by the shear mass of them. Eventually he was dealt a final blow, and decapitated along with the others among him. Their heads were then placed upon spears and paraded in a procession as the oppressors returned from their battle. Among the captives taken were Zaynab (as) the sister of Husayn (as) and Ali ibn Husayn (as), the only surviving son of Imam Husayn (as). As prisoners of war, they were taunted and were it not for Zaynab (as) who protected the young Ali ibn Husyan (as), then Ali (as) too would have been killed then and there. As it was, the head of Husayn (as) was struck on the lips with the cane of Ubaydu'llah. Some of those witnessing the scene were intensely moved by this disrespect and satanic moral indifference. One is recorded as speaking up to say "Remove your cane from those lips, for, by Allah, many times have I seen the lips of the Prophet of Allah on those lips." Notes Al-Mufid, Al-Irshad, pp. 227-8 (Tr. Pp. 364-5) Also quoted in Majlisi, Bihar al Anwar, Vol. 45, p. 116. Some Shi'a histories have a similar episode occurring when the head of Husayn reaches Damascus and is hit by Yazid. Just how badly the Ummah would have been effected if Imam Husayn (as) had not made this momentous sacrifice is difficult for one to gauge. For the very simple fact that his efforts were ultimately successful, we can only know that the Ummah would have deteriorated and become rotten with corruption far sooner than had. As it is, the Prophet Muhammad (sal) has told us that Islam would deteriorate after the 12 Imams, and specifically would resemble Islam in name only by this current era. For example, in Sahih Muslim, Jabir says, "I heard the Prophet say, 'Islam will always be dear until twelve Khalifatun and successors." Then he said something which I did not understand. I asked my father and he said, 'The Prophet said, "They are all from the Quraysh." Notes Sahih Muslim, Kitab al-amanah, bab al-mal tih 'l-quraysh "There Apostle of Allah said "There will come a time for my people when there will remain nothing of the Qur'an except its outward from and nothing of Islam except its name and they will call themselves by this name even though they are the people furthest from it. Their mosques will be full of people but they will be empty of right guidance. The religious leaders (furqaha) of that day will be the most evil religious leaders under the heavens; sedition and dissension will go out from them and to them will it return." - The Prophet Muhammad (sal) Notes Ibn Babuya, Thaqab al-Amal, quoted in Majlisi, Bihar al-Anwar (old ed.), Vol. 13. p. 152 Remembrance of Ashura Imam Husayn (as) is regarded as "chief of the martyrs." There is no doubt that the tragedy of Karbala, was a criminal and satanic act on behalf of the murderers. However when we reflect upon the nature and action taken by Imam Husayn (as) at Karbala, then we realize that he represents a conscious confrontation and a courageous resistance for righteousness, for Truth and Justice. The whole Ummah had failed to stand up to kaffir Yazid. They had succumbed to his will, and deviation and regression towards the pre-Islamic ways of Arabia were increasing. Inaction in this situation would have meant the end of Islam. Thus Husayn (as) took upon himself the responsibility of the whole Ummah. The greatest tragedy of Ashura is that one who stood up for the noblest of causes, the defense of Islam, was cut down in so cruel a manner. It is for this reason that the sacrifice of Husayn (as) is commemorated annually throughout the Muslim world on Ashura. For all Shi'as this is, without a doubt, a time of mourning. Allama Iqbal says in his Baqiyat "I am one who weeps at the plight of the Martyr of Karbala. Won't the reward be given to me by the Keeper of Kauser?" - Imam Ali (as) The commemoration of Ashura on the 10th of Muharram every year serves to remind us of the sacrifices of the Ahl al-Bayt, but as well, to remind us of those who stood by and did nothing as the ways of kufr continuously encroached upon the path that was paved by the Prophets and Imams before their day. Many spend the time of Ashura in a state of weeping and inflicting injuries upon themselves, as an act of empathy with the wounds of Imam Husayn (as). But this is not the nature of Islam. Islam is a revolution. There is no need to weep for the dead who have passed on from the oppressions of this world. The tears that we should shed are that some, even most, stood idly by as these atrocities were carried out. Even today, so many Muslims are oppressed throughout the world and next to no one intervenes through taking DIRECT ACTION against the oppressive forces. "Shi'ites take their slogans from the embodiment of the tribulations and hopes of the masses of the oppressed. Aware of the rulers, and in rebellion against them, they cry out- 'Seek the leadership of Ali and flee from the leadership of cruelty. 'Choose Imamate, and stamp 'cancelled,' 'disbelief' and 'dispossession' upon the forehead of the Khalifatate. 'Choose justice, and overthrow the system of paradox and discrimination in ownership.'" - Dr. `Ali Shariati Notes Taken from the book "Red Shi'ism vs.Black Shi'ism" Shi'a Islam is characterized, if by nothing else, by the fact that we as Shi'a do not hold that the majority is incapable of going astray. Even if there was only one single believer upon the face of the Earth, and the rest of the masses were kaffirun masquerading as Muslims, then Shi'a Islam holds that this one individual would alone be following true Islam. It is this revolutionary notion that endangers the status quo. This is a status quo of both western forces of Ad-Dajjal, and also of so-called "Islamic" complicity. This is not a difficult reality for the Shi'a of Islam to see in the face of masjid after masjid being erected at the hands of Wahabi and Salafi kaffirun. The kaffirun seek complicity. Islam is the primary target of Ad-Dajjal, not only because it is the Truth, but also because it is an active revolutionary Truth, that will not back down or cower in the face of oppression and global deceit. Islam is the enemy of Ad-Dajjal because so many within it extol the virtues embodied and promulgated by the Holy Imam Husayn (as). In the face of so much oppression of Muslims and non-Muslims alike, in the face of liars and infidels in the seats of ruling power of the Ummah, in the face of lies, slandering, and blasphemies against the Ahl al-Bayt and their Shi'a, in the face of the fulfillment of Prophecies relating to the era of ad-Dajjal's reign and the immanence of Al-Mahdi's Rise, so many Shi'a brethren and sistren are still content with the "black Shi'aism" of excessive mourning, and of inflicting injury upon themselves and their children! This is madness! Ashura is a time of mourning, and more importantly a time of mobilization against the ruling oppressive powers of the global empire of Dajjal. Ashura is a time of "Red Shi'aism," the Shi'aism of the martyrs! Ashura is a time when we should make certain that we are among those who take a stand and fight along with the Imams. For the day of the Imam's Rise is only as far away as we allow it to be. "If our Shias would be firm on their promises wholeheartedly, our meeting would not be delayed". - Imam Al-Mahdi (as) "Sahl Ibn al-Hasan al-Khurasani who was one of the followers of Ahlul- Bayt in Khurasan (a province in Iran) came to Medina to meet Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (as). Sahl al-Khurasani said "O son of the Messenger of Allah! You are of the Imams of Ahlul-Bayt. What prevents you from getting your right (i.e., the rule) while you find more than one hundred thousand Shi'a who are ready to fight for you?" The Imam (as) asked him to sit down, and then ordered to turn on the oven that was in the house. After the oven became very hot and turned red, the Imam (as) said "O Khurasani step into the oven and sit in it." The Khurasani said "My master, O son of the Messenger of Allah! Do not punish me by fire and make it easy for me." At this time, Harun al- Makki (ra) entered the room, and after the greetings exchanged, the Imam (as) told him to put down his shoes and to sit down inside the oven. He did so and the Imam (as) started talking to Sahl about Khurasan as if nothing has happened. After some time, the Imam (as) said "O Khurasani stand up and look inside the oven." Sahl looked into the oven and saw Harun sitting cross-legged inside the fire. Then Imam al-Sadiq (as) asked Harun to come out of oven and he came out healthy with no burn or injury. At this time, the Imam (as) asked Sahl "How many individuals do you know in Khurasan like this man?" Sahl replied "By Allah, not even one." The Imam (as) confirmed his saying and said, "We do not rise at this time when we do not even have five helpers (like him). We know better about the proper time." Notes al- Bihar, v47, p123, Hadith #172; also in Manaqib by Ibn Shahr Ashub Even in Imam Sadiq's (as) day there were not even 5 of such Shi'a which we necessary for his Rise. The Ahl al-Bayt tell us that for Imam Al-Mahdi to Rise there must be 313 of such Shi'a. This is a fundamental necessity. We, Brothers and Sisters, are all that is delaying the return of Al-Mahdi. So let us gather our senses and our numbers. Let us reflect upon the meaning of Ashura, and let us finally stand up and wage this Jihad al-Akbar. Instead of cutting our own flesh on Ashura, let us cut the flesh of the wicked. Instead of beating ourselves, let us come together and beat those tyrants who murder without facing consequences of their actions in this world. And let us know, that like the Holy Imam Husayn (as) before us, if we are caught in this Jihad then we will fight until we can fight no more, and when we die we will die a glorious death that took with it the strongholds of iniquity in this world, and secured our reward in Paradise. "Remember Ashura, to humiliate the ruling group who call themselves the inheritors of the traditions of the Prophet, for the remembrance of it will prove that they are the inheritors of the killers and murderers of the Prophet's family. It will show you a path of action, and provide an answer to the recurring question "What should be done?". It will help you to decide on the best agenda for the struggle against the rule of tyranny. It will avoid allegiance to cruelty. It will provide a pattern for the unbroken continuity of history. It will declare an unending struggle between the inheritors of Adam and the inheritors of the devil. Ashura reminds us of the teaching of the eternal fact that the present version of Islam (in1972), is a criminal Islam in the dress of tradition, and that the real Islam is the hidden Islam, hidden in the red cloak of martyrdom." - Dr. `Ali Shariati Notes Taken from the book "Red Shi'ism vs.Black Shi'ism"

THIS IS LIFE Do you have any doubt? THE WORLD IS NOTHING BUT INFORMATION A person entered into the world while he did not know anything ? all he knows today is from this world. The only access a human being has to the world is by the senses and the brain. All his feelings (subjective as well as objective) must be channeled through the nervous system before a person is conscious of it. All human problems and all the solutions are sought, recognized and applied through the brain. All human motivations are channeled through the brain. The brain (and consequently consciousness) is an enhancement to life. Plants are alive but unconscious. Plants regulate the material forces by the process known as life. Animals manipulate life by the process known as consciousness. Human beings manipulate consciousness by the process known as ?SELF? through al-Aql. Consciousness is nothing but Information. All that a human being is aware of is information and it is his world. PAIN AND PLEASURE While a human being did not enter the world with any information in the mind, he did come with the potential to learn ? a potential which is put into action as he enters the world and which does not cease to be utilized until death. Every human being learns from the cradle to the grave (attentively or inattentively). Information is channeled to the Mind where it is tagged with either pain or pleasure. Information that is not tagged is irrelevant and therefore not perceivable. Pain and Pleasure are inborn and the tagging is done automatically (attentively or inattentively). All human feelings are made up of pain and pleasure (physical as well as mental). If there is any word much talked about but less understood, it is Pleasure. How much we talk about it but almost unaware of what it is? When one talks of enchantment, expresses joy or feels high, he is indeed experiencing pleasure. When we want people to sympathize with us or to share in our sorrow and joy, it is because we want to have rest of mind and would want to swim in an ocean of happiness. In a nutshell, we want to feel the presence of love at all time or simply said, we want to be pleased. LIFE IS NOTHING BUT LOVE Our life is a life of Relieve and Entertainment. All our activities in life, ranging from our quest for material necessities up to mental wealth, are motivated by the urge to be relieved of discomfort (whether physical or mental) and/or to be entertained - a relieve from lack of love and a rejoice over the presence of love. No human being can survive without love. No conscious creature can survive loneliness; and it might be by this that all conscious creatures can be said to live as communities. Pleasure can best be described as the Beloved which the Heart craves for. When it comes to the conscious level, it is experienced in conjunction with the resultant love. Therefore, the various facets of pleasure we experience in our life is made possible by the kind of stimulus that is involved. Pleasure meanwhile, is either physical or mental or combination of the two. Physical pleasure is that kind of pleasure that appears to come from outside our mind while mental pleasure is within our mind (i.e., subjective). Pain, like Hatred, is designed to protect Pleasure. WILL-POWER There are three lines of authority in a person The first is the internal regulatory activities like the reflexes, instincts and the activities of the brain and the hormones. The second is the Mind which is responsible for all conscious activities and the habits. The last is the SELF which takes care of the intentions and decisions. Naturally, a person is confronted with streams of information so long he is alive. Some of the bits of information are channeled to the mind and so a person is conscious of them. The mind handles information better (or it is expected to handle it better). The information to the mind is automatically tagged and stored or retrieved and modified based on the beliefs and thoughts. Beliefs are the deduction derived from the earlier information. Thinking is manipulation of the information to improve the quality or to increase the quantity. The heart expresses love for any information that is tagged with pleasure and rejects any that comes with the tag of pain. This is also a natural process. Desire or an urge is based on this. The Mind as the seat of the tagging or modification is also the seat of battle between the competing forces. There are sometimes conflicting desires or desire versus decision. The Attention span (also known as the working memory) has to reach certain critical stage before it can be divided into two - this is incidentally how a person becomes an adult mentally. An adult, with the extended attention span, has the ability for the first time to watch the process of thought as it takes place. It is like a computer that monitors itself through what is known as multitasking (running of more than one process concurrently). Al-Aql, as an inborn, comes with a natural tag of pleasure. It is what makes a rational thought attractive to the heart. Thinking is a process of comparing, contrasting and computing. Every human being naturally thinks (attentively or inattentively). It is by the process of thought that the bits of information are organized into beliefs. The self has the ability to focus the mind but not without the support of the heart. The self (without al-Aql) is totally overwhelmed by the Heart. The ability to see the process of thought (and consequently the emergence of al-Aql) is what creates the conflict of which a person has to choose whether to become rational in life or to remain blinded in thought. The only control a person has over his life is his thought. The thoughts are responsible for feelings and the feelings are in control of all conscious activities. Keeping and focusing of al-Aql is the work of AS-SALAAT. The keeping is known as AZ-ZIKR (Remembrance). It is a process whereby the DECISION and FEELINGS to remain rational and just in one?s life is brought back to the mind from time to time so as to regulate the process of thought. The ability to decide and focus attention on the decision is what is referred to as the Will-Power.

Salaam, I posted a question in the Marriage and Divorce category pertaining to concepts of sexuality. I'm not sure if it belongs there, so I will post the link here as well as pose the question. peace, http//www.free-minds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3172 " Okay guys. I have a few...ahem...detailed questions about sexuality and Qur'an. From my knowledge, the Qur'an has put very few limitations on sexuality within legal marriage. Alright...here it goes, ya'll. Okay. First of all, I am a firm believer that in between the Left Perspective and the Right Perspective, there is the TRUE perspective. From being exposed to Christianity and Sunni Islam, I have seen the far right. So I wanted to take a trip on the left side of things. First, let me preface with the few Qur'an verses pertaining to marriage and sexuality that I know. Please feel free to add more if you know of any. . Prohibited for you (in marriage) are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, the sisters of your fathers, the sisters of your mothers, the daughters of your brother, the daughters of your sister, your nursing mothers, the girls who nursed from the same woman as you, the mothers of your wives, the daughters of your wives with whom you .have consummated the marriage - if the marriage has not .been consummated, you may marry the daughter. Also prohibited for you are the women who were married to your genetic sons. Also, you shall not be married to two sisters at the same time - but do not break up existing marriages. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. . Also prohibited are the women who are already married, unless they flee their disbelieving husbands who are at war with you. These are GOD's commandments to you. All other categories are permitted for you in marriage, so long as you pay them their due dowries. You shall maintain your morality, by not committing adultery. Thus, whoever you like among them, you shall pay them the dowry decreed for them. You commit no error by mutually agreeing to any adjustments to the dowry. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise. . Those among you who cannot afford to marry free believing women, may marry believing slave women. GOD knows best about your belief, and you are equal to one another, as far as belief is concerned. You shall obtain permission from their guardians before you marry them, and pay them their due dowry equitably. They shall maintain moral behavior, by not committing adultery, or having secret lovers. Once they are freed through marriage, if they .commit adultery, their punishment shall be half of that .for the free women.* Marrying a slave shall be a last .resort for those unable to wait. To be patient is better for you. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. "If you deem it best for the orphans, you may marry their mothers you may marry two, three, or four. If you fear lest you become unfair, then you shall be content with only one, or with what you already have. Additionally, you are thus more likely to avoid financial hardship. " (Quran 43) "You can never be equitable in dealing with more than one wife, no matter how hard you try. Therefore, do not be so biased as to leave one of them hanging (neither enjoying marriage, nor left to marry someone else). If you correct this situation and maintain righteousness, GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful." (Quran 4129). 2222-223 ....ye may approach them in any manner, time, or place ordained for you by God. For God love those who turn to him constantly and He love those who keep themselves pure and clean....your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how you will..... So, with all of that said, lets look at some scenarios, shall we? Can two cousins get married? God said that men can have their women any way they please, anytime, and anyplace. Okay. Is it alright for a married couple to have sex in public places? 3.Does a married couple have to have intercourse in private? For example, can married couples have sexual intercourse in the same space at the same time? Can people of the same relation (i.e. brothers, sisters, sister in laws, brother in laws, etc) have sex in the same space at the same time ( I ask this because the Qur'an does say that women are allowed to relax their dress code when you are around relation and, if taken literally, does that mean we can walk around topless in front of relation? Also, I am not insinuating that the couples can have sex with one another). Is anal sex allowed in marriage? So, yes, the above question are definitely going against the "moral fibers" of marriage and sexuality as we know it in Western and traditionally Islamic societies. However, from a submission standpoint, I think that the aforementioned scenarios are worth pondering. Okay. So what's YOUR verdict? Got some more scenarios? Throw them in for analysis. peace

AT-TAQWA DECISION AL-IMAN A human being, as a child, lives a traditional life; an imitative life; an unguided life. Environment and Training are of no effect to this situation. Every child is naturally misguided. A misguided person is a person who does not live his life. No child can live his life. A child has no power to decide over his life. Decision is the power to choose a way among the conflicting desires. For a child, the dominant desire overrides other desires. A child has no SELF. The self is the decision. The decision (al-Iman) is to be determined to win the heart over to al-Aql. This is the struggle and it is not a joke. It is the readiness and the determination to always adjust to the truth no matter how bitter it might be. It is the readiness to always take a rational decision in issues. It is the decision to avoid being a traditionalist. It is the decision to fight and gain control over oneself. Childhood is meant to train a person in the basic skills and some fundamental facts of life. There is no doubt that to realize this childhood objective, one needs some basic tools (more importantly) language, and arithmetic. A person must take the decision to be in control of his heart. The decision is 'al-Iman' and the preservation is 'at-Taqwa'. Both al-Iman and at-Taqwa are not inheritable. Every human being is deceptive and exploitative save a Muttaqi. PRESERVATION AT-TAQWA To plan and move on the path of al-Iman is known as moving on the straight path ( &#1614. A Muslim has to constantly bring the decision to the mind in order not to forget. As-Salaat is designed to help a Muslim remember his decision and therefore remain guided. What a good prayer to ask Allah to preserve one onto the right path at every time of Salaat! A decision that is not remembered is a decision that is never taken. Planning and Execution A Muslim (knowing the target) plans to meet the target. It is like a business man who sets out for a target. A normal person evaluates his present situation, looks onto his target in life, and then draws a gradual but steady program to meet the target. As the program has to be realistic, so he has to be determined to execute it. What is the use of a program that is not executed? They call it ideal! Contemplation, Study of al-Qur'an, Learning, As-Salaat, Az-Zakaat, and As-Sawm are designed to assist a Muslim in planning and execution. Assessment Every human being has just a heart and a mind. It is not possible for any human being to watch himself while he is active. Assessment is a process whereby a person looks onto his activity by bringing it back to the mind. A person can only assess what has already taken place. The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate ones activities to see whether he has been acting according to the program and to evaluate the successes and the failures. Programs are designed on expectations which might just prove out to be wrong. Living a practical life is the test of ones knowledge and progress. Life of permanent seclusion deprives a person of this opportunity and it is therefore irrational. A Muslim does not live a secluded life because he needs the society to test his progress. There is no problem with temporal withdrawal to assess and plan against the future. It will be a good suggestion to give 1/3 of ones wakeful time to active at-Taqwa. Self-accounting is known as . As-Salaat and all other practical activities of life are designed to help in taken account of oneself. Most of us today are regulated by the society. Let us be out of sight and our behavior is different. A Muslim lives a realistic life and he is regulated by al-Aql. A Muslim fears none and seeks the pleasure of none but Allah. 'La ilaha illa ' is the peak of knowledge. When you anchored yourself to it, you become free to explore the world and do whatever you like with life. As life keeps the body from disintegrating into ordinary matter, at-Taqwa keeps the heart from being assimilated into the careless and misguided society. In the same way that a leper has to be vigilant to prevent any damage to his body, so a Muslim has to be vigilant over his heart. What more, the heart is not fixed with a strong alarm like pain to outrightly sound alarm at the point of deviation. To keep fit, at-Taqwa is indispensable. A person must be very selective of friends and be serious with his life. There should be no permanent friend or enemy. At-Taqwa determines who becomes and remains a friend or enemy. It is good that one reserves a day (at least) in every month during which he is cut from all activities and concentrates only on himself. It would be the time to take account of all the activities throughout the month. It is easier during every Salaat to look onto the activities before that Salaat. It is a good habit to asses oneself weekly. Life is not a joke it is just the opportunity we have to determine our faith. Periodic assessment of oneself gives a person an opportunity to gain a deep insight into the making of life. The drama becomes more evident as one travels on the vertical axis of life. The higher a person goes up the tower of life, the better view and understanding. The person who can bring the universe into focus would no doubt understand some underlying wisdom which is not evident to an ordinary person. Now that the ball is on the field, it is either a person watches it closely or a slight negligence and Satan has scored a goal. One should be careful of all suggestions that enter the mind. The soonest a deviating suggestion is rejected the better. You have been warned! Anybody who does not associate with you on the basis of at-Taqwa is a potential Satan and a threat; one should be vigilant of such persons. The purpose of at-Taqwa is to preserve us against the negligence of the majority. In the Hereafter, this is not a necessity because there is no joker in al-Jannah.

Focusing On Nothing By Aboo Jamaal "Has not the time yet come for those who believe that their hearts should be submissive when remembering Allah and what has come down of the Truth?" Al-Qur'aan, Soorah 5716 In this modern age the Mu'minoon have seen a fulfillment of signs and prophecies with exponential acceleration and unfolding. With any such signs come great expectations from those who see them. With this comes increasing speculation on "what will come next." Each culture and religious tradition holds their own expectations of prophets and figures from the past who will return to usher in an era of peace and Messianic Consciousness. No matter what cultural or religious tradition, the outcome is relatively the same Jews in many cases living in hypocrisy and opulence, whilst setting a place at the table for Ilyas, Christians in many cases living in hypocrisy, yet praying for the return of Christ (who they imagine will warmly embrace them), to magically wisp them away into the clouds to their "home in the sky," Muslimoon also living in hypocrisy in many cases, and inaction in the face of brutality and injustice facing their brothers and sisters. Instead of rising to the defense of the oppressed, of the raped, of the tortured and murdered (at the hands of both their own regimes and others), they raise their arms to the sky and wail for the return of the Mahdiy to save them from the oppressors; a job which we are ALL charged with. As it is written in the Book of Allah "Fighting is prescribed upon you, and you dislike it. And it may happen that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that you love a thing which is bad for you. And Allah knows and you know not." Al-Qur'aan, Soorah 2216 In Truth, all any of us know there are lots of lesser "A'mmah" - like Imaam Khumayniy, like Moosaa-s-Sadr, like so many who have come and gone before - and the 12th Imaam is guiding from the Realm of Hurqaliyyah, from the Barzakh; manifesting his actions in accordance with the Will of Allah THROUGH these lesser "a'mmah." So people are not the focus, for we see the Imaam through peoples actions. Thus, because we see the Mahdiy and the Maseeh through peoples actions we do not need to worry about how Allah chooses to manifest them to fulfill prophecy. We are told time and time again through Ahadeeth that various A'mmah were charged with the mission of rising to political power, of BEING the Imaam al-Qaa'im, but because of certain occurrences in accordance with freewill, on the behalf of their disciples, this did not happen in their life time. Many of their disciples undoubtedly got discouraged and lost faith, falling away like chaff. This proved an indication of their motivation in the first place. They were originally so committed to their Imaam because they believed that "their" expectations would be met shortly. Their intentions, while pure in some regards, were tainted by the rijs of the nafs. Once hope was lost for immediate victory, then their commitment staggered. Similarly, with regards to the followers of Imaam al-Husayn, when he faced certain PHYSICAL defeat (yet spiritual victory) on the battlefield of Karbalaa', so many fell away and refused to join him. Only 72 true Mystic Warriors (Mujaahideena Aarifeen), remained true to the Struggle and faced the enemy head on no matter what. These were the true urafa, these who were not disillusioned with promises of easy victory within their immediate grasps. Instead, they focused on the long term spiritual vision (shuhood) for victory, and because of this they saved the core of Islaam to be passed down and remembered for generations to come. To focus on the short term hypothetical victory, to focus on those who you believe or expect will be able to offer you this short term victory on a silver-platter, is the height of istidraaj. To focus on these things makes us focus on that which is not important if we are truly doing what we need to do. Such things primarily becomes important, even central, to people when they cannot make up there minds whether to choose action or inaction, resistance or complicity "Should i join this group or should i just sit at home chatting online, or going to the masjid and never getting involved in the local or global community to bring about the conditions that are necessary for the Rise to take place? If this individual leading it is so and so, then i will join. If not then i will not." Their action becomes contingent upon their speculation and their hopes and desires to see prophecy fulfilled through the people they see the Mahdiy and Maseeh working through. But this is Istidraaj and that is why they cannot decide to join and work together without having their short sighted speculations confirmed. To the Palestinians, to the Iraqis, to the Chechens, to the people in the barrios, ghettos, refugee camps and shanty towns, no one cares who the Mahdiy is or Maseeh is. This is simply not part of their reality; they cannot afford for it to be. Suffering and poverty is their reality and it is a product of comfort that affords people the luxury of speculating on the identity of people who they do not need to worry about, as this is in Allah's hands. The Hadeeth tells us that when our Imaam disappears from sight, then expect relief to come from beneath our own feet. That is all we need to focus on relief, faraj. The masses speak of faraj coming in their 'ad`iyyah through the Imaam but we are not to expect this. We are told by the tenth Imaam al-Haadiy to expect faraj to come from beneath our own feet, not from beneath his. "If your Imaam goes into occultation, expect freedom from grief (to come from) beneath your feet." Bihaaru-l-'Anwaar, 51, p. 161 It is istidraaj for people to fixate on an individual and to try to correlate them with their expectations. For ultimately we are to fixate on Nothing, and the Mahdiy, `Iysaa or anyone else is equally nothing as much nothing as the computer which this is being typed on or whatever "you" think you are looking at this on. Thus, to focus on any of these things as "real" or important in and of themselves is the epitome of distraction. Even in the case of Aayatullaah Khumayniy there were people who suspected that he was the Mahdiy. Many will virtually attack you if you don't call him "Imaam" thought it is an acknowledged reality that he was only a lesser imaam, an Imaam of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. But what he was or wasn't is not the point. What people saw was the Primordial Imaam manifesting through his ACTIONS, and for that reason, speculation emerged regarding his identity. Regardless of this, he should not be the focus for the true `Urafa. For them, it is the Truth manifest THROUGH him that should be the focus ALONE. That was the focus of both his teachings and his actions in a regional manifestation of the Eternal Revolution of the Mahdiy. To the `Urafa the objective is to be aware of "our" Existence as Nothing. It is not to "become Nothing" as we are already Nothing regardless of whether we are awakened to this realization (tahaqquq), or asleep within the illusion of duality. Our objective and only desire is to stop this charade of "self-hood;" to stop pretending that "you" or "i" am anyone. This is what our focus has to be, not because it is "our" desire of the nufoos, but because it is THE WILL OF ALLAH alone, and for that reason the desire is pure and stems from the Divine. This realization is the objective. Neither the Mahdiy nor `Iysaa can force this upon us. They cannot force our eyes open. For when one is slumbering in a deep sleep and someone turns on the light, this light, this noor is blinding due to the suddenness of it. The sleeper will shut his eyes tighter than ever, or cover his head with a pillow. He will not gain any more interest in waking up, getting up and living. He will still want to sleep and he will do whatever it takes to block out the Nooru-l-Haqeeqah, the Light of Reality, that is being shined upon him. The Light on its own will not suffice to wake someone up if they are sleeping within darkness. For although Aayatu-l-Kursiy tells us that the Truth is MANIFEST from falsehood, there are still plenty who refuse to see this clear manifestation. No, rather the Light will have to permeate the entire region until the very particles of the sleepers body are energized, with his testosterone rising with the sun itself, causing his internal circadian rhythms to provoke his awakening, naturally and in accordance with the Way. This will not need to be forced, it will happen as a matter of Nature. When we tire we sleep. When we are rested and ready, we awaken. If we awaken prematurely then it is not true awakeness, but sluggish, drunkenness of mind. We are told not to approach Salaah in such a manner, for this very reason. If one awakens in sluggish drunkenness then their awakeness will be short lived. They will seem awake for a while, but then will return to sleep as a matter of the course of Nature; for they were never truly awake. It is for this reason that the eleventh Imaam al-`Askariy is reported to have said "When the hearts are active, confide in them; and when they are reluctant, bid them farewell." Brothers and sisters, this Revolution is not a revolution of guns, knives and bombs, but guns, knives and bombs will be found in any modern battle. The weapons employed are incidental to our Revolution. We are not a Revolution of the gun. The gun is a tool. If you want to eat food that has been sealed within a can, do you focus on the can opener? If you want the milk from a coconut, do you focus on the hammer or blade with which you open it? Of course not, because these things are incidental. Our Revolution is the Revolution of the Mind, the Evolution of the perfected human being, the insaan al-kamil; an evolution to unending awakenness. This Revolution will not be won in 7 years, nor in 9 years, nor in 19 years, nor in 40 years, nor in 309 years. This Revolution is a perpetual journey that is unrelated to individual manifestations of that Revolution in the course of battle with the forces of evil, both internal and external. When a murderer charges towards us with a gun or a knife to kill or harm us or someone else, we do not seek to kill him, we seek to STOP him. The means which we use are the means that are necessary to stop him. If that requires merely shouting to him authoritatively then al-hamdulillah, so be it. If that requires fighting him or shooting him, then al-hamdulillah, so be it. The objective, however, is not to focus on the means. The objective is what is the focus at hand. The objective in such a case, is to STOP him. If he stops after an authoritative shout, then so do you. You do not then fight or kill him. If you are forced to punch or kick this man and he falls down, then you have stopped him. You do not then kick him and kick him and kick him until he is dead or severely injured. Your objective was to stop him by any means necessary. Once he stops, so do you. If you are forced to shoot him, then you shoot him and if after a few shots he stops but is still alive, then you too stop. You do not unload your magazine into his wounded body. What kind of hatred is that to be found within the heart of a Mu'min? You stopped this man out of love; love for whoever he was going to harm, love for him so that he did not incur the consequences of the actions he intended (and in so doing sink deeper into the torment of Jahannam), and most importantly love for the Will of Allah. Your love which provoked the defense was pure. However, if in that defense you become engrossed in the means, engrossed in the means you are employing to stop the attack, then you have become distracted from the initial Love which caused you to defend so righteously to begin with. May those with eyes to see, see and those with ears to hear, hear the meaning of this. For our Revolution is not a revolution of the means. It is not a revolution of guns, knives and bombs. It is not a revolution of spokesmen and leaders, of A'mmah and shuyookh. Ultimately, it is neither a Revolution of the Mahdiy or `Iysaa. It is a Revolution of awakening to the Roohullah within us ALL; the Rooh which Emmanuel awoke to, and just as Emmanuel awoke to it we ALL need to awaken to it because we are ALL this Rooh. That is the ONLY reality of "Self-hood." For this reason it is written that on the Day of Judgment (Yawmu-d-Deen), Iysaa will say to those on his right hand, "Come, enter the Kingdom. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was sick and you visited me." Then Iysaa will turn to those on his left hand and say, "Depart from me because I was hungry and you did not feed me, I was thirsty and you did not give me to drink, I was sick and you did not visit me." These will ask him, "When did we see You hungry, or thirsty or sick and did not come to Your help?" And `Iysaa will answer them, "Whatever you neglected to do unto one of these least of these, you neglected to do unto Me!" Oh brothers and sisters, can this be any more clear? Will you then turn away after Truth has already come to you? These words are not new, but old. What we wish for our brother should be that which we wish for ourselves. For the very least of these are ultimately the same "self" as us ALL; with the same undivided Rooh within them all. To disdain our brother is to disdain our-Self. To harbor a grudge against our brother is to harbor a grudge against our-Self. Our anger should not stem from personal feelings, but from objective Truth. When we know someone has done something wrong, then the wrongness by nature upsets us just the same as an incorrect magnetic combination will repel, just the same as incorrect circuitry will short out and blow a fuse. Our anger is not at a "person" who does not exist, but rather at the actions manifesting through the particular thoughts within the Construct of Allah's Universal Divine Mind. For this reason it is narrated that Zurareh narrated that Imaam al-Baaqir said "The closest thing to become a kafir is to remember your believing brother's with the intention of blaming him in the future." Mishkaatu-l-'Anwaar fee Ghuraari-l-'Akhbar The Lamp Ninche for the best Traditions Page 262 Hadeeth Number 499 For the closest thing to kufr itself is to harbor such animosity towards your brother when he has sought rectification, and to keep account of his wrongs. Allah is Love itself in its purest form, and as `Iysaa al-Maseeh said, Love keeps no account of wrongs. It is written that Muhammad prayed "O Allah, show me the things as they are." Mirsaadu-l-`Ibaad, p. 309 And it is narrated that Imaam Ja'faru-s-Sadiq has said "Live and act as if you can see the hereafter with your own eyes." Mishkat at ul-Anwar fi Ghurar il-Akhbar Page 282 Hadeeth Number 556 So let us pray that we see things as they truly are. Let us pray that we live and act as though the Akheerah is observable with our own eyes. Let us stop focusing on the means, and focus on the objective, the goal. Let us stop docking our boats at this port and that, tying the boat up, and searching through the town for men who do not exist any more than "we" do, anymore than the boat, dock or water does. Nothing alone is real. There is NO Reality but Allah, La Haqeeqaha-illaa-llah. Do you not consider the words of `Iysaa al-Maseeh? When his own Hawaariyyoon came to him, one by one, and asked him if he was the foretold Mashiach, what did he say? Did he say "Yes 'I' am?" Did he say "'You' are very smart to realize this, and that is why i called you to this work?" No, of course not. "Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, 'Who do people say I am?' They replied, 'Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.' 'But what about you?' he asked. 'Who do you say I am?' Peter answered, 'You are the Messiah.' Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him." Mark 827-30 When he miraculously healed the sick through the sciences which the people had little knowledge of, what did he say? Did he say "Tell your friends 'who' did this for 'you'?" Did he say "These are signs of Allah for you to know who 'i' am, so go and tell others?" No, to the contrary, he said "Go your way, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them." The testimony was a testimony of the Truth having changed the lives of those healed; that they not just be healed in body, but healed in soul, transformed in spirit. Through this transformation a testimony would be offered, not of the "identity" of al-Maseeh, but rather of the transformation that Allah, al-Haqq, had in their lives. All the while they were told NOT to focus on, or tell others that they might focus on, the means by which this spiritual transformation had taken place. This is the epitome of humility, and awakeness in the life and actions of the Roohullah 2,000 years ago. It is because of this realization of the futility of focusing on the non-existent identities of this thought or that within the Construct of the Divine Mind that Yahyaa said the "i am NOT" or "Ani AYN" when asked if he was the return or raja` of the prophet Ilyaas "And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he said, 'I am Not.'" This was a double-edge answer. For on one hand he was negating any identification with the nafs as "this" thought or "that" within this realm of Dunyaa, this Universal Construct of the Divine Mind, and at the same time he was affirming his Existence as Nothing alone. This can be our only approach if we are to avoid istidraaj at all costs. This is essential if we truly wish to awaken from the dream. For though Yahyaa denied any such identification of his nafs with "this" figure or "that," it is written thrice that Iysaa claimed Yahyaa was in fact this raja "For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if ye will receive it, this is Eliyahu, which was for to come." Matthew 1113-14 "But I say unto you, That Eliyahu has come already.... then the disciples understood that he spoke unto them of John the Baptist." Matthew 1712-13 "But I say unto you, That Eliyahu has indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him." Mark 913 For Sheeah this becomes particularly relevant since the doctrine of raja of certain persons, including those who have physically died in this Thought-Realm of the Dunyaa is considered a part of the Sheeiy aqeedah. Consequently, as certain signs and prophesies are fulfilled at an ever increasing rate, many will become side tracked with the fulfillment of these signs, will dock their boats, enter into port cities and seek to identify the figures which they anticipate. Miracles and signs are the same thing in Islaam. They are Ayaat. A miracle in Islaam does not denote that the Natural Order has been ripped apart at the seems. It means that we have been given signs, probabilities, and according to the 12 A'mmah, these signs are often themselves subject to the Badaa' of Allah's Will in its natural ebb and flow within the Construct of Allah's Infinite Mind. Aliy ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ishaaq ibn Muhammad from Aboo Haashim al-Jafariy who has said the following. "I was in the presence of Aboo-l-Hasan after the death of his son, Aboo Jafar. I thought to my self like wanting to say, 'The two; Aboo Jafar and Aboo Muhammad at this time are like Aboo-l-Hasan Moosaa and 'Ismaeel, the sons of Jafar ibn Muhammad.' At such time Aboo-l-Hasan turned to me before I would say anything and said, 'Yes, O Aboo Hashim, Allah applied Badaa' in the case of Aboo Muhammad after Aboo Jafar, a fact that was not known for him. In the same He applied Badaa' in the case of Moosaa after the death of 'Ismaeel as an issue that through which his condition came to light. That is what you thought to yourself. Even though people of falsehood may dislike, Aboo Muhammad, my son will be the succeeding Imaam after me. With him is the knowledge that he will need and with him is the means of Immaamah (Leadership with Divine Authority)." 'Usoolu-l-Kaafiy H 856, Ch. 75, h 10 As freewill exists, so too does Badaa', which is ultimately the Freewill of Allah. Thus, signs are for us to take notice of, but not for us to become distracted by. When we are on a journey there are signs placed to mark the way for us. These signs are to be noticed, but not focused on. If we focus on them while we continue on our journey then we will endanger ourselves and others. We will bend our necks backwards, always focusing on the past, and never the present. Nothing could be more of a hazard. Similarly, if we are not to wreck then the only other solution is for us to pull off to the side of the road, to look at the sign and then flag down those who are also on their journey, get them to pull over and merely focus on the signs. Brothers and sisters, how then will we continue our journey? No matter what we see, no matter what happens, our focus is to be on the Infinite Nothingness of the Reality, and the Reality is Allah alone. There is no Reality save Allah. If our focus diverts elsewhere, then we have grown tired and returned to bed to go back to sleep in the dream world of duality and illusion that tells us that "we" are "this" and "that" and seeks to delude us with the insanity of identifying the non-existent with titles and names, coded to fit our cultural and religious expectations. Imaam al-Mahdiy is NOTHING, Iysaa al-Maseeh is NOTHING, everything that you see is NOTHING, so then focus upon NOTHING and not the illusion of "something." It is only when we do this that we can truly be considered awakened. And when we do this we will realize that it does not matter if Al-Mahdiy or Iysaa EVER return, for "they" never existed in the first place. It is only then that the words of Imaam al-Haadiy will truly be understood by the `Urafa, that "If your Imaam goes into occultation, expect freedom from grief (to come from) beneath your feet." http//www.taliyah.org

Salaams, For those who really ,trully, want to find out............ In which countries of the world did Prophets arise? According to Islam/submission, God sent prophets to all nations on earth, at various stages of their histories. The Holy Quran says "And for every nation there is a messenger." (1047) "And there is not a people but a warner has gone among them." (3524) In which of these Prophets of God do those who submit have to believe? Those who submit have to believe in all the prophets and messengers of God, equally, without distinction, wherever they may have appeared. In the Holy Quran (2136, 285, and 384 etc.) it is stated clearly "We make no distinction between them". Did any Prophets appear other than those mentioned in the Holy Quran? Certainly. The Quran itself tells us that it has mentioned only some of the prophets (see 4164). Since prophets appeared in every part of the world, and there were many in each nation, to make a full list of names is impossible. Those who submit have to believe in and respect all the prophets, whether named in the Holy Quran or not. It is well?known that Those who submit believe in the Israelite Prophets, including Jesus. How do they regard the great figures of other religions, such as Krishna, Buddha, and Confucius? It is quite obvious from the teachings of the Holy Quran that, as God sent Prophets to every nation, and quite a large number of them appeared all over the world, the ancient founders of these other religions too would have been Prophets and messengers of God. In fact, wherever there are people following a sacred scripture older than the Quran, their religious founders mentioned in those Books should be accepted by Muslims as true prophets of God. It has been suggested that Buddha is mentioned in the Holy Quran by the name Dhul?Kifl, meaning man of Kifl, where Kifl is the Arabic form of the name of his birth-place Kapilvestu. What did the Prophets teach? They all gave the same basic teaching that man should worship God, and God alone, and do good to his fellow?beings. Of course, the language of the teachings differed according to the nation and the time in which a Prophet appeared. In the Holy Quran, the teachings of all Prophets are in Arabic, and the Prophets and their true followers are those who submit to God. See, for example, 2131-133 and 5111. This refers to the fact that the fundamental teachings given by all of them were the same - submission to God and peace with fellow human beings. So if the the prophets to every nation taught basically the same concepts ,but we all know they have been corrupted over time and turned into rituals and the like ,the concepts must still exist in each nation but have been covered over with a lot of man-made garbage-So/But/And thus must be possible to see the concepts if and when we remove the rituals? And I think then we should know the answers to what salaat,hajj,slaughtere.t.c really aught to have been. Why not try doing an exercise and see what you come up with ,with respect to countries you are basically living in,Thanks,Salaams.

Peace all, I've been visiting the site more frequently over the summer holidays here and have found understandably a quite different place than what I remember it. One or two posts on the Bahai faith got me searching some of their official websites and history. What became clear was the claim that at least two individuals 'the Bab' and 'Baha'ullah' allegedly received revelations from God. I read the kitab-ul-aqdas which is the holiest of holy text for the Bahais on their web site and was met by a text which was clearly limited in time (it talked about kings of Germany and Constantinople for example) - and a book which attempted to codify rituals rather than lead people to signs and awareness of God. I knew then it was a false book brought by a false prophet. I then thought deeply on what revelation really is especially in the context of the Koran. Now even though I've read it many times - opening the book randomly never ever ceases to amaze me in terms of the arguments it presents which completely convince the believer that these are revelations. How do I know? Because I wondered whether one could write something similar - how would one come up with the subject matter and decide what to write. If you've never done the thought experiment then I suggest that you do - it's a lot harder than what you think or expect. I know that many people here understand what I am conveying but nevertheless I wanted to share this with you all. I found the following very interesting in my most recent reading 1094 If you have any doubt regarding what is revealed to you from your Lord, then ask those who read the previous scripture. Indeed, the truth has come to you from your Lord. Do not be with the doubters. 1095 Nor shall you join those who rejected GOD's revelations, lest you be with the losers. These verses are highly important and indicate the nature of revelation. The nature of the "you" might be understood to be the audience of the revelations. However the "you" in these verses to my understanding applies to the messenger himself. Thus the stories of the messenger actually seeing an angel (Gabriel) let alone conversing with such are falsified by these verses. The messenger was just as liable to doubt and therefore implies that the revelations are coming to him from a non-tangible source. I'll be studying this more as my understanding grows. Peace.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and glad to be here with progressive muslims. I've found an article about death of the believers (from www.quran-islam.org) and I have some questions about it "The fate of all genuine believers who die in tragic circumstances (e.g. fire, drowning, air disasters, etc) is not any different from the manner in which the life of Jesus was ended on earth. God takes their souls just before the actual accident happens so that they do not suffer the pains of death. There are a number of Quranic verses which confirm this truth." It claims that Allah takes souls of believers before they burn, drown or death strikes them. This doesn't make any sense. How can someone die before burning? After the initial death, the righteous do not die. Instead, they go straight to heaven after their life on earth comes to an end. "Do not think that those who are killed in the cause of God are dead; they are alive at their Lord, being provided for." 3169 "Do not say about those who are killed in the cause of God, "They are dead." For they are alive, but you do not perceive." 2154 "They (the believers) do not taste death, beyond the first death, and God spares them the retribution of Hell." 4456 "(At the time of his death) he was told, "Enter Paradise." He said, "Oh, I wish my people knew. That my Lord has forgiven me, and made me honorable." 3626-27 "The angels terminate their lives in a state of righteousness, saying, "Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise (now) as a reward for your works." 1632 Then what about judgement day? are we just going to be told where we are going to or go straight to it? "On the other hand, the disbelievers know at the moment of death that they are destined for Hell. The angels beat them on the faces and rear ends (850 & 4727), order them to evict their souls (693), then "snatch their souls"791" What about this ayat 036.052 They will say "Ah! Woe unto us! Who hath raised us up from our beds of repose?"... (A voice will say) "This is what (Allah) Most Gracious had promised. And true was the word of the messengers!" This ayat proves that disbelievers won't believe anything until they are raised up for judgement day. And my last question are you afraid to die, how do you think it feels like to die?

HUMAN BEINGS ARE THE KINGS AND QUEENS OF ALL CREATURES. There are various creatures in existence that can not be compared to human beings in size and population. Some are stronger and some have exceptional abilities. Nevertheless, the rational sense (al-Aql) that human beings are known with put human beings above all other creatures. The world is guided by human rational sense. Allah communicates only with the rational sense. HUMANITY IS NOTHING BUT THE HEART. Human being is a conscious creature. An unconscious person is as good as dead. The value of the body is measured against the Mind. Consciousness is guided by the Heart. Without an urge, there is no motivation of the mind and therefore there is no consciousness. A person falls asleep. A human being does not engage in a voluntary act until there is an urge. A person, once engaged in an act, does not stop until there is satisfaction. The cycle of Desire and Satisfaction is what directs all our conscious activities. An urge (desire) is based on Love and Hatred. Therefore, life is nothing but Love and Hatred. The Heart is the seat of Love and Hatred. AL-ISLAM IS NOTHING BUT AL-IMAN AND AT-TAQWA. Al-Islam is a guide for the Heart. Allah does not look at our body and possessions but our Hearts. The best of human beings in the sight of Allah is the best of them in Heart. Al-Iman is the decision to live a rational life while at-Taqwa is the preservation of that decision at the attention. Decision is the choice of self among the various and often conflicting urges. Attention is the Working Memory where all conscious activities are processed and then stored accordingly. Keeping Allah and the Hereafter at the Attention is the work of at-Taqwa. Al-Iman is the revolutionary decision that a person takes to become a new person at adulthood. It is the first step in instilling al-Aql in the heart. It starts at adolescence when a person begins to gain awareness that there is the other side to life. The choice of either al-Iman or al-Kufr is based on individual 'Will' and not the environment or the up-bringing. At-Taqwa is the preservation of al-Iman. Foremost among at-Taqwa is AZ-ZIKR (&#1585 which is to keep the decision alive. AS-SALAAT ( ) serves this purpose. The implementation of the decision naturally follows. The replacement of al-Hawa with al-Aql in what is known as the greater struggle ( .) One can not remain stagnant if not he falls. This is also known as Good Deed ( &#1577. Self-assessment is the next. One has to take account of himself to assess his progress periodically. A persons present day must always be better than yesterday. This is AL-MUHAASABAH (&#1577. One has to be vigilant if not he will slip from the way without realizing. We should understand that Satan is tactful and gradual in pursuing his goal. AL-IMAN As an Adolescent goes through the struggle to uncover the reality of life, he soon discovers and realizes that there is the Hereafter. He now feels a sense of awareness but not without implication he is now confronted with a conflict The conflict to adjust to the new reality in defiance of his Hawa or to remain with al-Hawa and damn the consequences. Al-Iman has various meanings depending on the context in which it is used. Among the meanings are; Awareness, Faith and Decision. Our concern here is that of Decision. Decision is the intended choice that a person makes out of conflicting options. The person who does not have options can not be regarded to have decision. Children generally do not have the ability to decide; they simply submit to their desires. At Adolescence, human beings begin to have the ability to have a say in the kind of life they live. It is this ability that creates the conflict and confusion found among the Adolescents. In our case here, it is this ability that calls for a decision concerning whether a person is to submit totally to or to rebel against . A person prior to adolescence had lived a life based on fallacious beliefs known collectively as al-Hawa. It is due to the new mental capability that he is able for the first time to asses and decide a way for himself instead of just trying to cope with life as it had been. This however, is in sharp contrast to the simple and seemingly free life that he had lived. Instead of just submitting to the desires, he now has to regulate the desires in line with his rational thoughts. The decision is whether to undergo this strenuous endeavour and wait for the fruit or to continue to enjoy the deceptive life regardless of the consequences. The valences are equal. It is whether to take shelter in the temporary shade or to be patient to reach home where there is the permanent shelter. If he chooses the rational way, he is said to have al-Iman if not he is a Kafir. This al-Iman however, must be based on awareness if it is to be meaningful and must be preserved by at-Taqwa. Allah guides those that have taken the rational decision to Himself by the process of the life itself. The formula is simple. Test your hypothesis by practicing it until it is confirmed to you and you move forward. In that way, a person grows in awareness. As this struggle continues, the Heart is purged of fallacies till the time when the Heart completely conforms to the self and there are no worries again. It must be mentioned that as this traveler moves along the path of guidance, he is repeatedly confronted with encounters of which he has to decide. If he remains determined on his positive choice, his iman is reinforced if not, it is weakened or even abandoned. It is not where one started his journey but where one is and where he died. Successful are those indeed who died with the positive choice. It is very easy for a person to decide to become a Muslim as any tragic even could trigger that (i.e., send someone into his real self and make him to take the right decision). Our problem however, is the preservation of the Decision. It is easy said than done is a popular saying. The Decision that a person takes to avoid the reality is known as al-Kufr. A person that decides to compromise between the reality and falsehood has committed ash-Shirk. The person who is yet to decide is still a child. A Human being has a brain and a heart. The brain is the centre where all conscious information is processed. The heart is the centre of meaning, feeling and actual awareness. The heart is the focus of life. Allah does not look at the body or wealth of anyone but the heart. The information a person has must always be differentiated from the actual meaning of the information at heart level. Put in another way, the information must always be differentiated from how the person actually feels about it. There is one nature and one truth and our assertion is that al-Islam is this truth. This must be practically seen to be so in real life. A person must be completely convinced and fully aware of al-Islam before he can be regarded as either a Mumin or a Kafir. wants a person to love (worship) Him out of conviction and no more. A person who is yet to be fully convinced of al-Islam is a Jahil. AL-OURAN IS SIMPLE, CLEAR AND ENOUGH Al- Qur'an contains the direct words of to human beings. These words do not bring any new nature or reality into existence instead, they explain the existing reality, which a person can feel and confirm. We say (meaning, has said the truth). How could we have confirmed? The Qur'an is complete, self-explanatory and sufficient. Among the things that make the Qur'an complete is Obey and learn from the Prophet. Learn from the prophet because human beings are often blinded from seeing the clear truth due to selfish desires. Put in another way, the Prophet (and by extension, the Imams) are complete manifestations of the teachings of the Qur'an (at various time). Obey the prophet because human beings exist as a community and a community needs a just leader that must be obeyed. This is where the importance of al-Hadith comes in. But al-Hadith unlike the holy Book is not free of adulterations. The Qur'an, instead of being sent through Muhammad, is sent along with Muhammad. Allah says Obey Allah and obey the Prophet. Therefore, the Qur'an is accessible and meant for all human beings as direct communication from to mankind. If we can take the pain to attach a booklet to our products and make the contents very simple and clear, we should expect to be ahead of us in simplifying His message and making issues very clear so that common people can understand. The goal is the understanding dont forget. The Qur'an is very simple and clear but where truth is bitter, it becomes incomprehensible. AL-QURAN AND AMBIGUITY Language is human invention and it is as imperfect as the inventors. Allah has to communicate to us in our language because the goal is to create understanding in us. This necessitates that Allah sets down clear and unambiguous parameters upon which all the contents are interpreted. By this, the words of become very clear despite the defects of the language. Among these parameters are that Allah is absolutely Just, Powerful and All Knowing. The Qur'an is meant for the understanding of every human being not just the prophets and the Imams. The idea that the holy Book can only be interpreted through al-Hadith is restricting al-Islam to al-ahadith alone whereas the prophet ordered that we hold onto the Qur'an and the Ahlul-Bait together. The holy prophet and Imams made it very clear that their words must be weighed and judged according to the Qur'an to verify their validity. The prophet went further to say that if anything is reported of him and it is against the reality, it must be thrown away because he could not have said anything that contradicts the reality. WHO GOES TO HELL? Allah is absolutely just and no one will go to hell until it is determined that he is fully aware and convinced of the truth but chose to rebel against it. Actions are therefore judged according to the intention behind it. Since we do not know the intention of people for certain, we cannot conclude that this or that person will go to hell except where it is explicitly stated by Allah. Meanwhile, we have all the right to condemn the activities of a person as abominable. We also have the right to judge on the apparent evidences available to us but true judgment lies with Allah That is a community that has gone for it is what it earned and for you is what you earn and you shall not be questioned concerning what they use to do. The faith of a person is not determined by what the earlier generations chose to do. However, this does not mean that we should not learn from their experiences and failures. The idea that if Ali had become the first Caliph, the situation of the present Muslims would be better is completely false. We should always remember that Allah is sustaining Iblis. The whole idea is to give us a choice in our life. THE BRAIN The brain is the greatest asset that any human being has. Human beings are insignificant compared to other delicate or mightier creatures of . It is the brain that put human beings above all other creatures. Therefore, any attempt to prevent a person from using the brain is to be regarded as the worst crime. The prophets were sent to do the opposite. They take us from darkness into light and then discuss with us. CONCLUTION Al-Islam is not a traditional institution. It is awareness. Awareness is not inherited. An Adult has to see and make his own decision. The choice a person makes in life about al-iman is not determined by his nature of parenthood neither does his choice affect that of his generation. Again, we are talking of the justice of Allah. Do not forget, Allah has no relatives - nearness to Him is determined by the choice an adult makes in life and in this, all human beings have identical opportunities.. Al-Islam does not belong to anyone anyone who chooses the path of Allah becomes the custodian of it. Everyone is responsible for himself and judgment would only be based according to the level of understanding of the individual. In al-Islam, there is no blind imitation. The holy Qur'an warn us not to accept what we do not understand. This however, does not mean that we should not seek clarification for things that we do not understand well.
