Allah shs us how to live our life in quaran but i jus wanna ask 1 thng..if a girl wears wht she wanz 2 lik a jeanz and a top is it wrong lik i mean 2 sae Allah vil punish hr cuz mny times i hv read if we don follow Allahz words Allah vil punish us..is it lik v cnt live our own life or v cnt do or wear wht we wan plz clear my doubt hs Allah imposed thngz on us??? Where in the Quran does it say you are not allowed to wear jeans and a top? Or rather, where does it say you have to wear the clothes you are told to wear? Allah will punish you on judgement day for the things you have done which you know is wrong. If you search the Quran and find nothing about wearing jeans, then how can Allah punish you? Mind you, that doesnt mean you can leave the house looking like a skank. You still have to wear clothes that are modest. If u feel jeans are modest, then what is the problem? And no, he has not imposed things on us. He has given us guidance how to be good humans

Sorry sis for the assumption I made about you leaving sunnism and getting sick and all. Sorry to hear about your discomfort. Eventhough we might have a difference of opinion about what the crime is (you said homosexuality versus I say definately not) there is something that we all can agree upon. Namely what all these "crimes" have in common. So far the only thing I can see is that they all in some way deny Allah or peoples freedom to believe in Allah. The lewd people of Lot denied him as a prophet of Allah, the people stopping people from doing the Hajj would have been stricken down if not for prophet Muhammed being around....just two examples that I can think of on top of my head.....but you get what I mean. It is a bit tricky because in the Quran some parts are allegorical, so a story about Allah striking down people because of their sins cannot be automatically be taken literally. Shirk is.....different. That is the only sin not forgivable by Allah (on judgement day). So unless you are not actively trying to stop Allah or not letting people believe in him you will not be punished here on earth. jedi If you are just trying to find your way and during that you go against Allah, then He will (hopefully) forgive on judgement day......But He will definately not punish you while alive 2286 God does not burden a soul except with what it can bear. How does one transform doubt into conviction (Yakeen) ? Should one suppress it and hope it goes away by alone. Or Face it... ? if so how ? Salam. Suppressing doubt it dangerous. It's just another form of ignorance and bias. If Islam is the truth, then naturally no matter what doubts you have as long as you research it without bias it will all make sense. If it doesn't make sense you have to either look at Islam or yourself.

Peace, Hoppean. You have failed to provide a definition of "omnibenevolence" or "mercy" etc, which would result in any "problem of evil". The attribute of mercy has relevance only to an object; it presupposes creation and has no relevance to God ad intra. Thus, whatever your definition of "mercy etc" may be, it cannot result in God contradicting himself ontologically. Categories such as mercy or justice have no relevance to God, qua creator. Therefore your objection falls away, as God, qua creator, "...does whatever he wills with the armies of heaven and earth, and none can stay his hand and all the inhabitants of the earth are esteemed as nothing." It would be like going up to an artist and saying your work is "unmerciful" or "unjust", such categories are irrelevant. Those dispositions are NOT irrelevant from a Qur'aanic standpoint, since one of Allah's principle attributes is "alraheem" (e.g. the/most merciful). That's what the feature of 'omnibenevolence' is talking about. It literally describes someone who is all (or perfectly) good in every respect. You're correct in asserting that this characteristic can't be applied to God in the sense of being 'above' his creation. However, he referred to himself as being merciful ("rahiym&quot, just ("hasiyb&quot, forgiving ("gaffa'ar&quot, all-perfect ("q'uddus&quot, provider ("razza'aq&quot, gentle/kind ("latiyf&quot, loving ("waduud&quot, patron ("waali&quot, etc. That, if nothing else, places legitimate restrictions on him. Theoretically, if Allah was all of those things, then 'evil' wouldn't exist in the world - especially since, as you noted, he is knowledgeable of evil and he has the power to stop it. If God knows that evil exist and he has the power to stop it, yet he chooses not to do so, then how can be described as merciful, just, kind, perfect, loving, etc.? Yes sunni and shia scholars denounce each other's hadiths and fatwa.. More than that, they announce each other as infidel and heretics. Thus, if you denounce shiite's hadith you have sunnis as your friend and when you denounce sunni's hadith you have the shiites as your friend. Well we did go through with the divorce after the iddah period proved relatively futile Since being divorced I have found myself deviating further from Islam.. I am now living with a non-muslim friend which was probably a mistake but I would struggle living alone after years of marriage and finding a muslim friend who is not a student, married or lives with his mum is virtually impossible. Over the past few days though I have been reconnecting with my din - watching lectures online, reading, attending the mosque tonight. The problem I have though is I struggle to engage myself at the mosque as I'm unable to express my genuine opinions amongst my muslim friends.. I feel that if I speak openly about my views to muslim friends I will probably lose most of them. Seeing as the majority of sunni's feel anyone who adopts ideologies which resemble Quranist views are apostates. This is also what my sheikh told me. I'm sure this is an issue every single person on this forum has faced though - some form of alienation from the wider muslim community. I value my beliefs over the opinions of others, don't get me wrong, but it certainly doesn't help that I can't attain any form of guidance. Not to mention finding my next wife who does not have conflicting views wont be too easy! I think I need a like-minded community (much like this forum) who have a desire to seek the truth and approach Islam with open minds and actually apply some form of intelligent deliberation and pragmatism. Can anyone offer any sort of space where this may be available? I live in Sydney, Australia. If not can anyone offer any good theologians, or any public speakers/lecturers that I can find online? EDIT Also - I did try to talk to her.. she didn't want to listen.. she has a lot of conviction in her views which are in line with hanafi.

Salam, I think it has two sides. One the one hand, listening to Quran recitations in arabic is like listening to good music. I get into a state of calmness when I listen for example to my friend's recitations. If I did it myself, I doubt it would have the same effect as my pronounciation is still too bad... On the other hand, reading the Quran in my own language does me good because of the meaning. So if you understand arabic well, both effects may come together.

Yes, Farouk seem to be playing for the audience, who is laughing, and it does not resemble any real believers gathering. Personally I think the verses are clear enough. Peace Be With You. I can not say its not a believers gathering. Many Quranist interpret the Quran linguistically with Ka'ba meaning ankle and Qibla actually meaning this or that or Sujood really means this or that or Haj actually means this or that. They look at the root meaning etc. I have no problem with linguistic interpretation if its done with meaning, context and how it fits with the Quran as a whole. Its when its done alone that I find many problems with it. Linguistic interpretation can be useful as a suppliment. Linguism when done alone complicates matters and makes the debate go in circles.
