Peace Ambrandk, Welcome to the Forum, and may God guide you to his truth. I felt like there were many similarities in your story to my own life, Much of my family are christian, and while i respect and am thankfull to God that he taught me Good morals through my upbringing and In the bible, I never realy believed in Jesus as any part of God or son of God, even when i did believe for a short period i didnt realy believe. Before converting to islam i struggled with mental health issues, i was diagnosed with Manic Bi-Polar, however God healed me from it after finding Islam, now when i look back man i was realy realy lost, but Praise God, he has healed me alot. I also understand the depression/disillusioned feelings, which i have had much in the past as well, although, again God is gradualy healing me and the more i believe and trust in Him, the most i strive in His cause and the more i read Quran, it realy helps alot. I definitely understand the yearning for the Quran. When i read it i had the feeling that it was true, much like you describe, and the more and more i read it i realised it was truth. And I gradualy came to the understanding of God alone, and following the Quran. There is no 'formal process' of becoming a Muslim , it is a state of total submission to our creator. I would just stick to the Quran as your only source of religious guidance. In terms of your sexuality, I am 100% against it, and i believe that so is God, as far as i understand it is described as an abomination in the Quran. I personaly struggled with sexuality issues when i was younger, and i am of the opinion now that my choice to engage in such things when i was younger was as a result of a very messed up childhood, with Bad role models, if you understand. I dont know it is something i would like to understand more on, simply to understand my past, and myself. However its between you and God, and you are still a Human being just like all of us, and anything i can do to help you in your search for truth dont hesitate to ask. Hi, I was always liked english dialect, it look like a knight. Once I had coleaouge from england. Unfortunately from youtube I only knew americant dialect, and he used to call me from skype whch I dont understand. But after a year I get used to it. ;D )

Hmm... nice statement, but personally, I think that only Allah Who can grant true love between male and female (couple), and I believe that without having faith in Allah, there is actually no true love between the couple, because I think those who don't have faith in Allah would even give their life partners to be exchanged for their safety (in the hereafter), if they could do it. So, in my opinion, the eternal love is impossible without faith in Allah. Mahmati, just like a potter making various vessels by the skill of his own hands, with the aid of a wooden stick, a wheel, and a thread, out of the mass of clay; the tathagatas, too ? by their command of skillful means, issuing from the non-discriminative, and selfless noble wisdom, by various terms, expressions, and symbols ? teach the essence of tathagata, or teach the egolessness. Mahmati, I teach the essence of tathagata for my tirthika disciples, who cling to the imaginary notion of a self, to awaken from erroneous views, to attain the three kinds of liberation, and to quickly attain anuttara-samyak-sambodhi(buddhahood). Therefore, the essence of tathagata, taught by the buddhas, is different from the tirthika notion of ?self?; people who aspire to be away from the tirthika views should understand the meaning of the selfless essence of tathagata.?

Hello and "salam aleikum" (for whom use this traditional greeting, in fact I like it). I'm new here. However I did a couple of question and some people were kind and they gave me answers and their point of view. I knew the Islam more than 10 years ago, but different things (the excessive legalism way I found, the violence, etc.) made me wait to do my "shahada". The most important barrier was the opposition between Islam and my universal view about spirituality (perhaps I can be identified as "perennialist", but I don't like the tags). The attraction of those years was very large. I read a lot about Islam, I even learned the basis of Arabic to read the Quran (though I just know a little). But all that without "shahada" and without salat, without follow islamic rules (like halal food, etc.). After that, the time passed and gradually my enthusiasm faded, but that first approach left a mark... One year ago, I felt this interest reborn within me. And finally I said the shahada in front of a witness (in a Internet site). I 'm happy, but I feel a bit lonely because most of the Muslim's world seem to me very rigid and legalistic. I don't want an Islam in my size (I dont believe in a pure subjetive religion) but I do not want that the approach to God becomes a moral and psychological torture. So, surfing by Internet I found this forum and for the moment seem me one of the best I know in this issue bravo Perhaps I'm more "traditional" than the most here, would be the age because I'm a bit old (5, but I like this enviroment. So, I hope keep sharing with you. Be well I know all about world religions and consider them all compatible largely if applied to the same skeleton or framework which is best or most clearly presented in the Qur'an.
