;D Yeah, I'm slow alright. Frankly, well, this is hard to say, but I couldn't be sure how real this site was. I mean, who expects anyone to say they believe Quran, but don't rely on Hadith? That surprised me, even though I, too, believe the Quran can be read and understood, at some level, without hadith. ?This is the book, in it is guidance for sure without doubt, to those who fear Allah?. (22) - ?They are invited to the book of Allah to settle their dispute?. (323) - ?A book revealed unto you, so that your heart be not in any difficulty on that account, with it you may warn and teach the believers?. (72) - ?Lo! this Qur?an guides to that which is most upright?. (179) - ?These are the verses of the book that make things clear?. (262). Quran and Tafsir is a good combination. Personally, our own tafsir is what matters the most. Other peoples tafsirs I consider at the best interesting and at the worst irrelevant and/or damaging. Then I've read posts terribly condemning Quran-only. And I'm afraid I'll say something that will make me look just as ignorant as I really am about the Quran, that I'll be ostracized. I have not read it very many times, and I don't know enough Arabic yet, though I can recite short surahs in Arabic. sun We are always going to be ignorant of something or the other, we go through stages. It's best to know ourselves and what's important, to keep our fears of being ridiculed and/or ostracization lower in the priority list in the context of the bigger picture. So what if someone calls you something, makes you look stupid or whatever, if it's true we can work on it, it's not bad to be honest, to know our boundaries and whether we can create newer ones...it's not as if we are experts on things from the get go, we earn our way to a better understanding...and if it's not true, it's irrelevant. I don't have a compilation like you described, but I have books like "World Scriptures" which gives passages from scriptures of different religions, arranged topically. I have not read that for a few years, though. I suppose one thing keeping me from an all-inclusive compilation is the sheer magnitude of such a thing. "World Scriptures" leaves more out than it includes, and that's over 800 pages. I don't have that much time! Thanks for the reference, sounds interesting. I know right, it is a massive undertaking to have a comprehensive list on the subject. Sometimes I'll jot down a reference to the Qur'an in the margins of a book. Or a reference to the Bible in the margins of an English-language tafsir. Tafsir do that themselves. Yeah, was looking for a more personal list giving a priority to clear cut similarities in different 'religions' (maybe even cultural similarities, particularly religiously derived) preferably arranged in a time line...if you or anyone else comes across something like that, lmk.

Hi Sweetflower87! D Thank you for the pdf document, sister. Whether (in your document) you use the Qur'an translation written by someone? If you do, may I know who's the author of the Qur'an translation that you use? http//fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/132/5/3/A_Flower_for_You_by_BlueMoon_Pixels.gif Salaam.

Welcome, Indiana! I too had problems with the 189738972398 supplications I was told to say when I reverted. Now, I don't really say any of them, but I see their purpose. I think they're supposed to keep you mindful of Allah in all that you do. But if you can do that w/out saying a specific pattern of words, I don't see the issue. That's how I feel about it anyway. peace

Salam! I am from Nigeria. Had my own battle, too, but got over it. I was gradually becoming an agnostic until the Quran's Mathematical miracle based on Code-19 convinced me as God says it will. I still pray for certainty in my chosen beliefs but I have conviction already. I mean, I just need some genuine subjective signs from God, you know. Regrading Solat, I started following RK's formula (5 times a day with some Quranic modifications) but later stopped it for his teachings i.e. the Quran alone, the Whole Quran and Nothing but the Quran. I believe he was a messenger of God who did his part in the Islamic Awakening. I researched further and discovered some analysis which try to prove Solat is not physical but mental, such as Man of Faith's, I guess. Further still, I came across three Solawat (plural) per day i.e. Fajr (Dawn), Wustoh (Mid-day) and Isha (Night). I liked the analysis on this for it is based completely on the Quran without any extraneous leaning, at least. At some point, I prayed three times a day, with each Solat comprising two units (Rakaat). When I had the mind to accept even more Quranic analysis, I disowned the word Rakaat from my Solat because it never occurs in the Quran at all. So, How do I pray now? Three times a day with each Solat comprising a single round of standing, bowing and prostration (you might call that one Rakaah), though; for all I care, it is based on the Quran alone, the Whole Quran and nothing but the Quran. Did I come across this analysis on my own? No...! I found it on Quran-Islam.org For now, this link might help for a start... http//www.quran-islam.org/main_topics/islam/pillars/number_of_salat_(P1200).html Do explore the website further. I downloaded and read every article on it and all the articles here on Free-Minds.Org. Remember, it is Free-Minds, a pot of different understandings. So, let Q1736 be your guide, eh? Feel free to send me a PM... iGnAc

Ever grown one of these O0 ? - Or is that a 'racist question'? ??? I'm sure if you asked a sensitive or insecure person they'd take offense. I didn't cut my hair from 5th grade till 11th grade. I had cornrows, but I'd occasionaly wear a fro.

God also gave Abraham a promise as long as those after him are righteous to make leaders of those and of blessed character. And it can be anyone who is a faithful follower of God. So it is positive to look back on father Abraham and his devotion to God alone, and the God of Noah, Isaac, Ishmael, Yacub, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Jonah, Jesus, Muhammad and the rest of messengers. And we make no distinction between them but The Master we serve wholeheartedly. Wisdom jedi

Welcome. You've come to a good place. As most of us already know, there is a huge difference between 'religion' and man-made religious institutions. Religion is a relationship between YOU and GOD, and no other person. Wishing you the best on the right path. Thank you

Hi welcome,,, I also find some hadith to be extreme the tell you basically how to live and be this perfect image of islam...they over complicate everthing...quran alone is much more easier to understand I agree, not only complicated rules but, there is also sexist and offensive hadiths that contradicts the Qu'ran. nope

I could not believe that Jesus was the only way to be with God I agree... this makes no sense. Even if we would accept it, nobody can say it makes sense, because it doesn't. I also wonder what it means that the only way to God is through Jesus. What does "through me" mean anyway. Who says it has to mean "believe that I am God"? Assumptions , assumptions assumptions. I also wonder about whether Jesus is considered God or just God's only son. They say God loved the world so much that he sacrificed his only son for it. Well, what does THAT mean? Sacrifice? Jesus was put to torture and died(raise to heaven). What sort of sacrifice is that? Tons of people have gone through that kind of torture, and worse things. And what sacrifice is it when you don't lose something? Jesus just went back to God. Is that a sacrifice? And how can God lose anything anyway? So God tortured a part of himself because he loved the world (or part of it at least, since most of it will go to hell)? Christians believe (as per the books at least) that Jesus created the universe. So Jesus is God who created all? So who and what was sacrificed, and why? The trinitarian Christianity makes no more sense that Kali Mata and Ganesha. hypno

Remember you follow the way of Abraham, the true in faith we spent many days alone even in society and among his peers he was alone. They just did not think of higher things. You may realize they were like cattle but farther astray so remember ALLAH as he is quite the friend to have in fact he's the best of friends. Talk to Allah and you'll soon understand he hears and sees all, he understands your longing for good intelligent company and it is a trail you'll simply learn as you don't need many people in the future. Thank you for comment. Moses had been rewarded for his faith, So had Solomon and many other believers. pr

Salamun Alaikum! handshake welcome to this forum. A really good introduction! I have the same feelings. Today the 'Muslims' are in fact destroying their own religion. The scholars don't care and the people of this religion don't care. They are busy in following some books, written by some men 300~ years after the Prophets death. Wassalam peace Ijaz, A.

SALAAM Bien venido/da, yo no soy espagnol pero hablo un pouquito, yo soy de Portugal. Qualquier duda que tengas poder?s recorrer a mi que te ayudarei com la premission de Dios.. SALUD y SALAAM Muy buenas tardes, paz y felicidad ) Entonces, utilizemos el Espanol en vez del Inglez o Arabe dominante ) Of course, Arabic is not the "holy language of the paradise" as some traditionalists woudl describe it. But I can't see a problem with using some arabic words either. For me, using "peace" (or "Frieden" in my language) just sonund a bit strange, as if there had been a quarreling that has to be calmed down...

Thanks everybody for suggestions. Actually I am not an anti-Jew man. I know the diversity of human being, diversity from so different aspects. I can not blame the whole Jew community for a handful one. If I can, then the biggest question would be, Are there any human left in this planet as everyone would be a pathetic cruel animal, as generalization says so? > > Now what I really hate, is the "deeds", "ideology"; the bad deed and bad ideology. You see, the dogs who consider themselves superior because of their race, should be counter-considered as inferior creature by peaceful mind. Might sound contrary to Gandhism or Buddhism, but I don't care. I call it justice. The same way who think, tax should be imposed to other humans because of his/her religion , should be treated equally counter-wise. Meaning similar tax will be imposed to them for similar cause. Beard-tax, circumcision tax, vail/sack tax how about those? They can live and practice judai/sunni/shia/christians, just they must have to pay certain price. NOT A BIG HISTORICAL ISSUE AT ALL!!! No "humanic" exception. Those men who think girls should be teased or raped or those who sympathize rapists, because the girl is not wearing modest black sack, I would like to witness ,"those men" be gang raped by she-males and gays and animals. Then I would like to say to them cheerfully, Bro, you should hide your abs and muscle. Also the hair. Also your teeth. As these organs provoked T and Gays. Those human who killed the rape victims and adulterous by stoning, should be counter-stoned one-by-one down to the dogs same way, by the fellow stone-throwers(who participated). This nice recursion will continue until just one human lives to tell the horror to their Zionist-Islamist-Church friends. Those who burnt females accusing them as witch, must be burnt at the stakes, in front of a church(and their padris-popes). So ladies and gentleman, you got it. I want the reverse wheel. I hate Judaism along with the pathetic Talmud. It is not the Jews/Christians/Sunnis/Shia/Buddhist/Atheist "person" I hate, it is the deeds which reacts so violently with me. There is a judgement day, isn't there? I swear by the every atom HE created, every named HE has I will leave none. I will demand justice. I will never forget, never forgive. Not my own kin, not my own family, not even me. Know of what I think, sometimes? A part time job in hell! I was not like this. Had a heart for everyone. As I came to know things, the histories, I can not go back. I was like Living with HIM this life and the life hereafter happily. Trying to love everything HE created. Always try to do things which makes HIM happy. But now I think I want someone to suffer too.
