Clauratina did you read my post? You seem to what to believe the Quran has been corrupted because undoubtley certain verses seem to sit uneasy with you. I am not saying denying anything you said I understand that the Kufic script was designed to show the pronounciatioin and infact what you are saying is corraberating what I am presenting. The thing is the words are the same the prounounciation and subsequent context may differ but word per word it is the same. God didn't say the Quran would be eternally intereperted the same, It is amazing that the words are the same that is what has captivated me. I strongly adovacte criticaling looking at the Quran, one can interpert rewards of Paradise for the Matyr as incentives for Muhammeds conquest but overall this doesn't add up if you ask me. I disagree with you on people being able to believe what they want. Should people be able to believe and propogate bogus things like ayatollahs and the Dalia LLama being god? I view Islam as the only truly acceptable religion in a world of logic because it promotes not only the strengthing of ones self but it rejects hiearchys. I have noticed that these Quran Only Muslims establish their own hiearchys and organizations and even refer to themselves by sects. This is prohibited. You seem a bit confused if you believe in a religion you believe has undergone changes. Just because something doesn't sit right with you doesn't mean you have to eradicate it or rationalize something you do with religion. That is what the hadiths were for and by adovacting what you are you are acting no different then a person who propagates a hadith justifying something in conflict with or not mentioned in the Quran. I am mostly in agreement with you... first of all, as I said, I do believe that the MEANING of the Qur'an has stayed the same, despite the small lexical changes that have occurred. So basically what I'm saying is that while the Qur'an isn't letter-for-letter the same throughout the world, that doesn't mean that there has been changes in meaning in any significant manner. As you said, it could be a present tense switched to a past tense or something similar like that, and therefore we must be careful not to accept an interpretation that could only work with one tense if there are other interpretations that could work with both tenses (unless the rest of the Qur'an clearly points us to a specific interpretation). So what I'm saying is that this theory that all written Qur'ans are exactly the same down to the last little dot is bunk. All Qur'ans are essentially the same everywhere and that since the time it was put together in a book, but don't propogate the lie that they are the same down to the last dot, or even the last letter. So we must question ourselves if God actually promised to protect the Qur'an down to the last letter and dot, or if he promised to protect the MEANING of the Qur'an... given the evidence, I'm inclined towards the meaning. And I think having more than one version of the Qur'an (such as Warsh and Hafs) because it is easier to check an interpretation of the Qur'an... to be valid it must make sense according to both versions, which is a bit of a guarantee against errors in interpretation. I think it's therefore unfortunate that such destruction and burning or Qur'ans happened because people seeking power (=Uthman) wanted their version of the Qur'an to be the only official one (yes, it was a time of political instability, and one of the solutions to the problem was to burn the versions of the Qur'an that were not in conformity with Uthman's version. This lead to political stability because he could justify many of his policies using his version that may not have been justifiable according to the other versions - and the rest is history... Sunni history). With more than one version it is actually easier to find the real meaning, because you have more than one indication to what the meaning is you find the meaning that is common to all the versions.

hi Unity, welcome to the forum ) i got the same experience as yours on prayers. i can read arabic but i don't understand the words, so got to see the translation for that. the problem when i do the prayer is that i don't understand the meaning naturally, and quite often that makes my mind wander about and forgot the arabic words i'm reciting lol i guess, for now, i'm happy with meditating. i can concentrate more, plus i can do it anytime i want, even when i woke up in the middle of the night in my sleep, i would meditate and think about god and life. so far it works like that pray

I am grateful for this forum, to find that I am not the only one on the planet who thinks the whole idea of Hadith and the organisation called "Islam" is, well, just a bit silly, and very misguided. I honestly felt I was the only person who questioned any of the so-called "pillars of faith", until I went searching online and found this place. hey everyone My brother just told me to check this site out as he thought i'd like it and after merely a day, i've fallen in love with it. I'm 15 and have had a sunni upbringing. I've always been open minded. Most people i know are devout sunni's. I've had numerous arguments with people about why they make hadiths out to be something divine in nature when we have the Quran before us which is all we need. And i never really got why people relied on scholars and mullahs etc to tell them what the Quran meant. If the "average" person is not able to understand it, why would it have been given to us in the first place? so anyway, with all these questions and my contraversial nature, i've had many people say i'm not a muslim etc. Thankfully i've finally found some other people out there who think the same. peace all Peace Hal and welcome to the forum! Many sunni's also said that I'm not a muslim, because I was rejecting the hadeeth. What they said is not correct. I am and will always be a muslim inshallah. Don't ever believe those people and don't ever hesitate about whether you're a muslim or not. Keep the faith in yourself.

as salamu alaykum, i'm new here too. It's funny how I stumbled upon this site.... I just don't remember! But the thing I do remember is that I first stumbled upon the site of the "19ers" as the authors of this website address them. Anyway, it was there that I saw the message about following Qur'an alone. But all of those 19 arguments were a bit of a stretch. Anyway, I have no idea how I came here. A lot of the articles I've read on this website are like WHOA!! I actually accepted Islam a while back. well actually I was born in a so called "muslim" family. They were originally of this Shia sect who are just plain hypocrites and polytheists. I shall not name names. Anyway, my uncle first reverted. Then I also did along with my mom and sis. About a year ago, I spoke to my uncle on the phone and he advised me not to get mixed up with sunnis and the hadith and what not. I said ok... But I still went for the Jummah prayers, and they repeated Hadiths and Qur'an and all the good advise. It didn't sound bad at all. It was good stuff. So I joined this Islamic forum. And discovered a lot more hadiths and what not in the messages like what we're supposed to do and what not. Particularly interesting are prophecies of the hadiths. And the Dajjal stuff. Anyway then a few months ago I spoke to my uncle again on the phone and we got into argument. Anyway, long story short, both sides of the arguments make sense to me. For example, what about all the prophecies of the hadith that have come true like female singers being widespread, interest being widespread, etc. And what about how to do Hajj and make prayers and waht not? Also how is it freaking possible for a whole 90% of 1.2 billion people to actually say the shahada which the authors of this website call fabricated? How come nobody in those times, when Abu Hurairah was spreading such a fabrication, raised their voice? Obviously he would have had to tell someone about it for it to be passed down and be recorded later on. And when Bukhari recorded it, it probably wasn't new to him. I dunno much about the "hadith science", but it seems to me that if you have 2 or more parellel chains (ofcourse meeting at prophet muhammad as the source but nowhere else) of a particular hadith, then that would be considered pretty strong evidence of it being authentic dont you think? Aren't there any hadiths like this? These are just some of the questions I have. I haven't decided what the hell to do. It's just driving me crazy. I don't want to have to go through the whole routine of abandoning my community all over again. I wanna say I've made some very nice, honest (sunni) muslim friends. I've just never met such ppl before you know. They're all religious, knowledgeble, funny, my age, etc. etc. Best ppl i ever came across!! I thought this was a gift from Allah who was happy with my accepting Islam. Well enough of that. I'm sure I'll have plenty of discussions here InshaAllah. God Bless.

It is I in the avatar. I chose the nick Sword of Allah for many reasons. Quite a few of them are personal and how I reflect on how the Quran has effected my life. Growing up a Roman Catholic in America, even reading the Quran can get you more than a few dirty looks. There are many more reasons, notably Khalid bin Al-Waleed, of whom was also called the Sword of Allah. I'm not very well versed in the Quran yet, but reading the arguments here suppliments my reading of the Quran. Hopefully, I will be proficient enough to carry on a conversation in due time, God Willing.

Wa alaikum salam jonny I read your story and found it very interesting. I'm happy for you! I too came to realize that the hadiths are so non-sense that they couldn't be from the Messenger or from God through the Messenger (like the Qudsi). As for code 19 and the submitters, I haven't read it enough but their point on hadiths is a good point. It's a pitty that most muslims don't even consider questioning hadiths. I had some arguments with them but it's always proven rather worthless... ? I was told too that complete bull about folding your trousers, grow a beard, don't eat with your left hand, women's salat is more valid in house, dogs are not to be pets, music is discouraged and more endless garbage. I mean, these guys don't live at all! Honestly, I never really believed or followed any of this non-sense before and definitely it was not because of them that I came to Islam, so I'm glad the hadiths are begining to be exposed to the truth. May God guides all and give us strength.

Peace TheNabi I would visit various Mosques of different school of thoughts and hear what the sisters, brothers, imams, speakers etc.. taught and even did. I remember attending one Mosque where we the sisters were shield behind a room divider..Scarey...I'm looking for a Mosque to attend that doesn't promote any school of thought other than Quran.
