Salam mquran I have recently started reading Hadith and it still doesn't make any sense to me . Some hadiths are ok, i mean they may or may not be true but are things that i can live with, but others will take you in the opposite direction. The writers can't make up their minds and seem to give their own opinions rather than what was actually said. I would love to have some more of your strategies of deconstruction though. Its hard when you question one thing and then they throw another hadith at you to conceal what they could'nt answer to.

u have well quoted the verses, but rituals do have importance, they reflect the picture of the sirat mustaqeem, like gathering of salat,an imam, and jamat doing sajda to quran recitation, the decipline, social interaction, etc infact alone salat is the is the reflection of the whole system to be adopted by whole ummat.and allah has mad it obligatory for the believers to perform salat gathering on prescribed timings mentioned in quran.thats my viewpoint, hope to share with u in fufture.

Peace Ahmed, The link comes from www.toluislam.com and it basically says It basically means corruption and disorder. Fasada-Shai'an is anything which loses its original shape. Lahmun F'asidun is the meat which gets rotten, is stinking and of no use. Fasada is, in fact, the antonym of Salaha which means in order or in balance. Therefore, Fas'ad would mean disorder or to get out of balance (Taj / Moheet / Lane). Quran has used the word Mufsideen as opposite to Musliheen (2/11). It has also been used in the meaning of causing destruction to crops and the cattle (2/205), not to maintain full measure and full weight, and not to give full due of people's sweat and labour. Fas'ad is also described as suppressing peoples' rights (7/85, 26/183), destroying a healthy, balanced system or upsetting a correct order (27/134), and committing crime (12/73). In fact, Fas'ad means to create uneven elevations and depressions in the normal level of a society or social order whatever its shape may be, as it upsets the order or harmony of a society - and people do indulge in such activities after getting intoxicated with wealth and power (7/74). Accordingly, one of the plans of a dictator or a Pharaoh is to create various factions, parties, sects and thus create disorder in the society (28/4). Contrary to this is the desired will of Allah, which is also the correct approach to life. It requires one to take away as much as one needs from the sources of nourishment and not to upset the balance of the society by taking into possession the whole lot (2/60). In verse (26/151-152), therefore, Musrifeen (the extravagant) are also called Mufsideen. In verse (28/77), Fas'ad has also been used opposite to Ihs'an. In Surah Al-Baqarah verse 31, it is stated that at the time of the creation of Mankind, all the Malaika said that Man would create Fas'ad (disorder and chaos) in the world, whereas they are continuously busy in upholding and working according to the program given to them. This shows that working against the system given to man by Allah is Fas'ad, because by doing so, man is creating chaos in his personality and disorder in the society. The whole universe, even the outer space having billions of galaxies and other things still unknown to mankind, is working according to a plan and in perfect harmony. This is because there is one system given by one Allah, and if there were more than one Il'ah or more than one law, there would be Fas'ad (chaos) (21/22). Human affairs on this planet can also be managed and run in a perfect harmony and order if they are subjected to One Code as given by Allah. Thank you mquran I accept the above and have no problem with it, cheers you see the Quran never said that the hypocrites believe in the last day Ah, I havent studied nifaaq or hypocrisy in depth. I need to before I comment. please do, your opinion will be of a high value to me but if we look at the suicide bombers for example we see that they bloody believe hard in the last day because they simply killed themselves thinking by doing as such crime they esacped the judgment on the last day i really can't see that a hypocrite can claim to believe in the last day by a such a powerful statement of killing the self as a sign of believing in the last day, I reckon I hypocrite will never believe in the last day even if the lied and claimed to believe I take your point there, Ahmed. The thing is, I'm of the belief that imaan, specifically the imaan constituents in al-quraan gurantees good behaviour. of course bro, I agree 100%, we only have the Quran as a physical sign of our Creator trying to communicate with us to guide us in the best way suiting the requirement and the accounts that will be given in one hell of a distressful day If you see 3/84, belief in Allah and what's revealed on us leads to us being 'muslimeen', therefore precludes us from behaving like al-kafireen. Your thoughts, sir? thank you again mate, I use verse 3/84 a lot as an argument against the sunni brothers can I say something unrelated man, well, I'm not a sunni, I have never been in my life, it is really strange how it came into me i was born and raised in egypt "fully egyptian" never gave a fluke about religion up to the age of 13, at this age my arabic teacher was encouraging the belief in us, I started reading as I had already the knowledge of the prophets stories in one of the children books I had ironically written by a famous Egyptian writer named "Ahmed Bahgat", what a conicidence bro lol man I got lost with the hadith, and ended at this early age after seeing the differnece between the shaggy words of the hadith and the mighty words of the Quran I realized the huge differnece, and since then I was a Quran alone type of guy, I do not reject the hadith rather I qualify it using the Quran, I created a new hadith science lol , simply The Quran qualifies the hadith the words of Allah should qualify the words of humans, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND, and Sobhana Allah, since then and without any influence from any and without even knowing that there is people called Quran alone, I was sort of a Quran alone believer with a restricted allowance for the hadith that only been qualified by the Quran I'm 40 years old now and this means I have been over 25 years studying the Quran alone and just looking at the hadith if I need a lil insight but only if qualified by the Quran, I can elaborate with examples if you wish after gettin deep into the Quran, I was absolutely assured that my early decision was 100% right and i thank Allah greatly because it happend only from Him back to verse 384, as I said I use this verse against the sunni brothers to expose their ignorance that the Quran warn us from making any distinction between any of the prophets and yet they elevated prophet Mohammad to a far higher level than the rest of the prophets, they actually shut up and can't answer me i use even a stronger logic, I have to tell you this bro, because I discovered it myself and it is so easy to be discovered you know in most sunni countries they raise the children by brain washing them with the following wrong law We can say "Alayhe Al Salat Wa Al Salam" on Mohammad only while all the other prophets we should say "Alayhe A Salam" only, their argument that Allah ordered us to say this on Mohammad in the Quran, while I agreed with that, I showed them that The Quran refuted their claim, but that is not what I want to say, I actually refuted it with a far simpler logic in the prayers (5 times a day) we say at "the Tashahud" "Allahuma Sali Ala Sydena Moahammad Wa Ala Ale Sydena Mohammad, KAMA SALIAT ALA SYDENA IBRAHIM WA ALA ALE SYDENA IBRAHIM" this was enough to confuse the hell out of them bro lol , they are still looking for an answer Finally to give you my thoughts regarding your comment about verse 384, sure the belief will make the humans better but the belief is different from submission man, the Quran diffrentiated between the two, submission is far higher than believing believing is a required stage to submit, or at least submitting can not happen without believing but believing can happen without submitting those prophets were at the highest level of sprituality and they were not just believers, they were true submitters "Muslims" however there are many believers calling themselves muslims and yet they have not submitted fully to Allah there is also people who say they believe in Allah and the last day and they don't really believe and they realize it not peace be with you mquran and sorry about my typo errors, I have a severe spelling disorder

Hi Ming-lo, yeah, u r right, ur name does have a J-Lo feel to it thanks for the welcome. hope u have a good journey called life. dunno about bermuda muslims, but arabic is spoken in only a few countries. so, i guess the rest of the world goes on reciting Quran in arabic considering the recital holy. i rememeber we were/are told that if we recite some particular sura some no. of times(say 100 etc), we would gain direct access to heaven or we get 500 steps closer towards heaven etc. now, does that make any sense? LOL....if the thing about reciting the sura is true...think about how much ppl will get easy excess to heaven! lol

Salaamun alaikum Warda, Unlike the rest of you I like the term progressive Islam actually because it shows that it's forward-looking. How do you mean 'forward looking' ? To me progressive Islam means that it deals with subjects in a more modern way which differs from the conservative way if v?ew. Islam from the beginning would have dealt with our 'modern day' problems. You see Warda, there was nothing from the sky which dropped and told us, 'now the modern period has begun' (at least I hope not, if there was, I certainly missed it ??!!). It was we humans who labelled a particular period as 'modern' (and now 'post-modern') and we build a whole world-view around it. 'progressive islam' to me, simply acknowledges that we submit to the man-made worldview which demands a particular response. Suddenly islam is democratic, tolerant (according to the definition of the powers that be, not allah's definition) and so on. The conservative viewpoint may CALL itself islamic, but we have checked them against the Quran and see how its totally contradicts the Quran. So we cannot play on thier terms and label ourselves with these labels just because there's a 'conservative' element. To me the discussions on this forum are progressive. I don't see it as changes/progressive is made in Islam but the way we look at it, we live it. The discussions on this forum is islamic because it discusses life and the essence of humankind. Humans from beginning of time have been doing it.

Peace and welcome Pam, I gave up and resolved to live by Allah's Words Alone. At least He was perfect, At least he could forsee it all. Indeed, He is the Perfect, and He sees and knows all things... May the Lord blessings continue to guide your heart and your mind to what is right.

Peace, all... I lean more towards the understanding that we do not carry the sins of another. The passage about Cain & Abel seems unique to the quran, and i therefore wonder if it is to be understood in another way; otherwise, one might go so far as to consider this a contradiction. Perhaps in not choosing to fight back, he had chosen to "give up additional sins," as we know that you are entitled to defend yourself, but mercy is better & remits more of your sins. Of course, this possibility is the result of my typing while thinking. Very seldom, if ever, are my posts "pre-meditated." Peace, brian

Peace Mini Wati, It is uelogistic praise unless the person is worthy of it. My brother, You are. We must study historic documents to study Islam, its evolution & Islamic civilization, there?s nothing wrong with that. But if we associate any of this with our religion as law, way or method of going to heaven then we are committing idolatry. Besides, what ever is man made cannot be enjoined with the quran as religious law or teaching. I wish to prove to you brother that if you read the volumes called hadith with the intention of associating parts or all of it to the religion only taught by god then you are commiting idolatry (shirk). On what basis can we trust anything that does not come from Allah? They say A Hadith is accepted only when its authenticity has been established on the basis of both Fann-i-Riwaayat and Fann-i-Daraayat. Any document that claims to be from God, but in actuality is not would contain some form of error according to the Quran "Do they not consider the Quran with care, If it had been from anyone other than Allah, it would contain many discrepancies (482)." Who gave us the authority to judge by anything other than Allah?s revelations? Well, we have been doing so for over a millennium. Who are we any way? God? Lo! WE DID REVEAL THE Torah, wherein is guidance and a light, by which the Prophets who surrendered (unto Allah) judged the Jews, and the rabbis and the priests (judged) by such of Allah's Scripture as they were bidden to observe, and thereunto were they witnesses. So fear not mankind, but fear Me. And barter not My revelations for a little gain. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed such are disbelievers. (544) AND WE PRESCRIBED FOR them therein The life for the life, and the eye for the eye, and the nose for the nose, and the ear for the ear, and the tooth for the tooth, and for wounds retaliation. But whoso forgoeth it (in the way of charity) it shall be expiation for him. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed such are wrong doers. (545) LET THE PEOPLE OF THE GOSPEL judge by that which Allah hath revealed therein. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed; such are evil livers. (547) AND THE MESSENGER SAITH O my Lord! Lo! Mine own folk make this Quran of no account. Think logically. There is history but it is logical to think only a person who speaks to Allah can decide whether this history can become a document authentic as the Quran to associate as religious law & methods. To make a decision on religion other than what the Quran says you have be No 1. you have to be ilah (Divine) 2. Speak to Allah 3. Know a person who for sure speaks to allah. As the Quran is the Criterion (Furqan) none of these 3 could come true. Most of us at least a lot of people that i know take both Al-qur'an and Haditz. From my point of view they seem take Al-qur'an as the guidance of life and treat Haditz as the supplementary guidance. See brother, many people say what you have said above though through out the history of Islam (Since the first revelation Taurat) men have adopted The revelation (Written Tradition or word of god Torah, Quran) and stories (Oral traditions, Mishna & Gemara, Gospels according to st X, other books in new testament, Hadith etc) and this is the only reason why people are strayed. When you submit to someone you must listen to him and yourself only. It?s like a syllabus and the day of examination. You can study or read or do anything you want. On the examination day you will be judged by the syllabus only. Think deep. YOu will realise that when we take oral tradition which is man made we always end up making it the basis of our religion. Would you believe it if I told you that by the time I was 17 I have read the Quran at least 15 times fully in Arabic and yet never knew what it was saying. None of us took the Quran even close to hadith. We had the idea or rather we were taught by our elders that Reciting the Quran in arabic is like mantra. It will bring good fortune and so on. Thats all. The way of life is totally based on Hadith. If you think islam has only 74 sects and Christianity has another 75 sects you are wrong. Christianity itself is a sect of Islam. That is of course only if you believe in the authenticity of the Quran. Throughout our history you will notice that Allah delivered only written traditions. Scriptures perfected by Allah himself. We have always idolized the prophet, innovated with oral traditions and added it to religion by saying oral & and written traditions. Hadith or Sunna.& Quran. The quran kept on saying that it has been sent down through Muhammad to confirm the previous scriptures. We ignored them. It says not to adopt any other document as religious teachings. We ignored them. We want more. We want to look different. Feel big. Make our ego our ilah. Everything is more important than our creator?s word. The revelations. See how we have split and kept on splitting. Written & Oral Traditions, idolatry & imams have always been part of our religion. Beyond Written revelation from Allah there are no other communications between us and Allah. Thus if we had only stuck to what Allah had said in his revelations we would all be united. Also, we will be upholding the pillar La ilaha illallah. The people used to be one community when GOD sent the prophets as bearers of good news, as well as warners. He sent down with them the scripture, bearing the truth, to judge among the people in their disputes. Ironically, those who received the scripture were the ones who rejected any new scripture, despite clear proofs given to them. This is due to jealousy on their part. GOD guides those who believe to the truth that is disputed by all others, in accordance with His will. GOD guides whoever wills in a straight path. (2213) Have you read this hadith brother. Prophet Muhammad said ?Do not write down any thing I utter other than the Quran? which is ironically mentioned in Ahmed, Vol. 1, Page 171, and Sahih Muslim & that he maintained his anti hadith stand until his death Ahmed, Vol. 1, Page 192. When we watch the Bruce lee movie fist of fury we get enraged to see a board saying ?Dogs and Chinese not allowed?. Do you even dream that Islam would be worse than that? According to the books of Hadith, a woman is compared to a black dog or a monkey Bukhari 8/102 and Hanbel 4/86. if a woman or a monkey crosses your prayers are not supposed to be accepted by god. This is pure male chauvinism. The Quran on the other hand honors women and lifts up their status contrary to what is contained in the Hadith. A woman is called bad luck in the haidth (Bukhari 76/53). Also, according to the collection of Muslim (Sahih Muslim), most of the people in hell were of the feminine gender! According to Bukhari, "Women are naturally, morally and religiously defective." Therefore, by the standard of the Quran, no Muslim should accept such prejudiced Hadith as issued from the lips of the prophet of God. Note what the Quran says about hadith. Which Hadith, other than God and His revelations, do they uphold? In their history, there is a lesson for those who possess intelligence. This is not fabricated Hadith; this (Quran) confirms all previous scriptures, provides the details of everything, and is a beacon and mercy for those who believe. Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless Hadith, and thus divert others from the path of GOD without knowledge, and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution. GOD has revealed herein the best Hadith; a book that is consistent, and points out both ways (to Heaven and Hell). The skins of those who reverence their Lord cringe therefrom, then their skins and their hearts soften up for God?s message. Such is God?s guidance; He bestows it upon whoever wills (to be guided). As for those sent astray by GOD, nothing can guide them. (3923) YOu realise when you read a normal Quranic translation they have left the familiar arabic phrases like Ayat, Allah left in arabic text since we know what it means. But they will translate (Distort) the word Hadith as Speech, idle talks (Music & Singing), Statement etc. In the Quran you can very clearly see the arabic word Hadith and that translators are sending you astray since they believe in some thing and they will not let even the Quran prove them wrong. The Almighty. Teacher of the Quran. (551-2) Praise be with god. Peace Shohorab

Peace Islamik, It is not yet a fact that you will not live until 40, despite the statistics pointing otherwise. In my opinion I am convinced that as long as you are genuinely searching for the truth you will obtain salvation in the hereafter. Take prophet Abraham as an example. Regards Peace I was just trying to say that age 40 theory help me open up 2 submitters, which PRAISE 2 GOD led me here
