Peace Brother Q_s Could you be more courteous to sister Samia than telling her to look it up in the dictionaries ? What is so difficult about telling her if you happened to know what she is asking ? I thought you could be more useful and helpful than that brother . Regards almarh0m Peace Brother Probably you misunderstood. In fact I am as busy as anyone else in this forum. It is a time consuming job. Regards

5.101 I think concerning this I have read some explanation, and it makes sense to me, along the line that there are plain things that by trying to going too much into them, in fact you make things more difficult and get nothing, and the example of when the israelites were ordered to sacrifice a heifer and they started asking, what kinf of heifer, and then, what her colour, and then what age... and so on, which we really unnecessary. Just whatever heifer... Unfortunatelly ritualism does a lot for that kind of thing. As the Qur'an says somewhere else, it doesn't want to make things difficult for us, but easy, so we should not complicate them, nd use some common sense and measure, and not milk any statement to derive straneous things that in turn demand further and further "expertise". I think there is even a hadith, and you will excuse me for it, but I think that this one is one of the good ones attending to content. I can't remember it exactly but it was about some person asking something really not very significant from the Prophet, who answered out courtesy even if not convinced that that was so momentous. To his answer the person asked details, and so back and forward several times, till finally the Prophet said something like you should not ask too much, because if I answer you you will end up burdening yourself with things which are really not necessary nor are of consequence or a duty. Something like that. Like in so many cases a suppose that the aya may hold more than one possibility. Salaam yes By taking the 'complex' way. we will obviously be missing the obvious... hehe

Salaam Mazhar Error of translation 1. It is not "the foundation walls". No walls here, and foundations are not always for walls. Error of translation 2. It is not "of the ...", but "from the .." Error of translation 3. It's not "the house" but the "home/beit"...broader meaning. Where's Makkah or Becca here? Sister, Query was not with reference to Makkah or Becca. It was with reference to this First of all, beit has two meanings a contruction within which a family lives, or a body of concept/s. For God, I would rather go for the lattar meaning, so I am not very much concerned about a "house" being "constructed" somewhere. Perhaps "foundations" with reference to one object cannot be used. "Alqwaid" have to be raised from foundation/or from ground level. And perhaps "" cant be used for "foundation". And Sister, home is not for general public of different origins while the word "house" does have the connotation where public could gather and the purpuse of this Albait is indicated to be for general public, local as well foreign. If we use "from the.." instead "of the.." how the entire sentence would appear. Could you please put the whole translation of the line.

Peace, What I meant was symmetry when it comes to the sexes. From what I have read it is usually the man first than the woman, but please do correct me if I hadn't come across other instances where the woman comes first. Thanks for the link. What I found interesting is that right after the verse where zania come before zani (242), God tells us that both the zani and zania are equal (243). So it doesn't matter who comes first in 242. By the way, I'm a sister ) God bless Oh sister... sorry.. I do not check the 'gender' sign most of the time.. Anyways, that was an interesting find on your side... And it is another logical statement that is enforced in the Quran... Same as the verse where it says Isa is like Adam... and few others. Its called logical statement. The God is really great ... The Quran is amazing...

2235 There is no blame upon you if you openly propose marriage to these women, or you keep it between yourselves. God knows that you will be thinking of them, but do not meet them secretly, unless you have something righteous to say. Do not consummate the marriage until the required interim is reached in the book. Know that God knows what is in your minds, so be conscientious of Him, and know that God is Forgiving, Compassionate. 2236 There is no blame on you if you divorce the women before having sexual intercourse with them, or before committing to what was agreed for them. Let them have compensation, the rich according to his means, and the poor according to his means. Compensation, which is according to the recognized norms, is a responsibility for good-doers. 2237 If you divorce them before having sexual intercourse with them, but you have already agreed to the dowry, then you must give half of what you have agreed, unless they forgive or the guardian over the marriage contract forgives. If you forgive, it is closer to awareness. Do not forget the favor between you; God is Seer over what you do. 2238 Preserve the contact prayers, and the middle contact prayer, and stand devoutly for God. 2239 But if you are in a state of worry, then you may do so while walking or riding. If you become secure, then remember God as He has taught you what you did not know Please read the following part of the end note of 2238 from the Reformist Translation The interruption of the subject on divorce with verses about the contact prayers does not violate textual coherence, since one of the purposes of the prayer is to ask for God's help and guidance during difficult times, and divorce is one of those times. See 245; 2945. 2242 It is such that God clarifies to you His signs/revelations that you may reason. Peace

Peace bravo Another prophet or not, that is not going to change our situation... Our fate remain the same... We have the Quran as a guide, let's walk along and aim for paradise... And ask Allah for guidance. Ever read in history books about a people or community that achieved a high level of "civilisation" without an Imam or Leader ? There has always been Qur'an/ Book of Guidance from god since "He" created intelligent human . Evidence from the Qur'an indicates continuity of the same process and nothing changes about human nature from time immemorial . Peace

Sister Samia, have I correctly translated the verses, gramatically; morphologically etc http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/002.270.gif http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/002.271.gif http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/002.272.gif And amongst the people is a person whose words about worldly life seem exotic/astounding/unaccustomed to you and he swears upon Allah on what he has in his heart/mind, and he is obsessively compulsive/excessively argumentative. And when he leaves, he attempts so that he may create disorder/imbalance/distortions/ spread wicked, unsound ideas in the society and he divides and rifts the people apart. And Allah does not appreciate/approve the distortions/imbalances/lack of equilibrium. And when it is said for him, "Be mindful, apprehensive of Allah", he is seized and puffed by pride/stubbornness to remain in sin. Therefore Hell is the appropriate place for such a person, and it is a very bad dwelling indeed.

peace herbman, Yes, the verse you bring up is key and has been discussed before. Night must have some light to strip away, thus this excludes pitch black as "layl", leaving only one possibility pitch black + the two twilight periods. This simple deductive reasoning exposes quite easily what "layl" is.

Peace I don't think it matters whether or not the prophet Mohammed received wahy other than the Quran. What is meant for us to follow is in the Quran. If God wanted to say anything else to the prophet only then that was up to Him. God bless

I also think it's about abortion, because the qur'aan does not state any justification for killing (other than to sane a life o stop corruption in land/the earth). Saying (do not kill your children for fear of poverty), and take it for born children, would imply that it's OK to kill them for other reasons. As for life in a fertilized egg, well it's not more than life in any cells sperms, ovums, nails, hair, fat (would liposuction or tubian ligation be considered as killing a life?). I personally am against abortion for no life threatening reason (again, different from murder), but can't find a no no against abortion in the qur'aan other than this, nor would consider abortion as murder. Peace Sister Probably it is one of the RARE points where we 100% agree. bravo bravo handshake Regards

Looks like this is an "Elitists" translation to me , but then perhaps Iam wrong . Grand Qur'aan is a statement of proven fact, for all time and space. There is possibility that Jews/Bani Israel attain 100 percent literacy. Here the knowledge is with reference to the revealed Book, and common public never 100 percent comprises of those who know the revealed Book. Ummi is also for common men. Thanks

Salaam Mazhar Why do you think the verse says that the husband gets "sakeena" from the wife? Unless you think that the verse is addressing husbands only. The feminine pronoun in "ilaiha literally upon her" actually refers to the nafs, which is linguistically feminine, even if it belongs to the husband. The translation is therefore And one of His signs is that He created mates for you from yourselves that you may find rest in them, and He put between you love and compassion; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect. The reason is in 7189, which clarifies that it is not "nafs" that is being referred to but physically the wife. "yuskana alahiha" is for husband, only then it remains an eternal truth and fact for the reason already given.
