When you think about it, it is quite odd that communication is the way it is. Who thought of pointing at something and calling it X, Y or Z, or even just talking at someone else? It's also remarkable that children pick up on grammar incredibly fast regardless of the language.

I don't think the word is "miracle". Miracles not only do not exist, they have never existed. But that's in the definition you used. If someone heals from a deadly disease like cancer against all odds, we call it a "miracle". The wording is wrong - if you are to refer to Quranic "miracles" you should use the word "signs" which are most certainly there and manifest themselves in REAL methods - such as the verses talking of the partition between seas. "that's how i define a miracle is when an event defies all the laws of nature, physics and biology and cannot be explained by scientific behavior." Usually, in England, we don't call that a "miracle", but rather, "bollocks".

Salam The Quran is the litterary copy of the univers and no comprehension of the Quran can be complete without understanding the mechanisms of the univers. Peace, I think he got married first as well. However, it is possible that he did not, as I don't think it is clear from the verse I will keep my eyes open to any clues on this. However, although it feels good to be clear about these types of details. It really doesn't matter. However, I don't think it would be right that Moses have to suffer through 8 years waiting to marry his wife, it doesn't make much sense to me either. Dowries once fixed can still be fulfilled after one has already married. I think 'family' might be the key. Moses (God bless him and keep him) speaks to his family in the plural. So if we assumed that he left right after his fulfiling his obligation with her father (which is possible) his family was already old enough to take orders and more than 3 people. So I think it is unlikely that he got married after his service. You should also give blessings to Moses when you mention him. I'll look for the passage as I can't remember the number but the Quran says that God and His believers bless God's messenger(s). Those who claim to be believers (whose identification in the world is Momin) have been advised not to adopt Yahood and Nisara, Ahle Kitab (Jews and Christians) as their 'patrons, god fathers,protectors'. But at the same they are also advised not to adopt Kafir as their "Awlia" instead of believers (refer 328, 4144). Again believers have been advised not to adopt their fathers and brothers as their "Awlia" if they like Kufar (refusal to believe) instead of Eeman(refer 923). One is required to remain 'friendly' with his parents and other relatives even if they choose to be Kafir. The word "Wali" does not mean "friend" since it denotes equality between two while "Awlia" are adopted with a misconception of getting protection. Believers have been advised not to adopt others as their "Awlia" except Quran e Majeed (refer 73). It is meaningless to suggest that a woman is half a man. The matterr relates to a particular business transaction and refers to a particular situation where two men are not available for witnessing the deal. Ordinarily women do not like visiting public and private places alone as they feel shy and embarrassed being alone female amongst few men. Two sisters were present and they explained freely to Musa alaih issalam but when one came to invite him to home she came feeling shy and reluctant, as explained in Alqasas 23-25. In the particular situation a woman not related to men who are party in the deal would not be interested to become a witness at a business place in the presence of four men (two dealing men, one Katib, writer of agreement, fourth witness). But it has been made obligatory to become witness.Therefore it would have been against the human rights of a woman to compell her become a witness in a deal she is not interested/concerned in as it is against her Psyche. Therefore two women. In the Court witness is only one. The other is to facilitate her companion if she forgets something. It is the will and discretion of the other to accept or reject. The court cannot interfere otherwise the witness of both will become meaningless and void.
