Peace Simple Joseph is Abraham?s descendent through Jacob. If Joseph?s mother i.e. Jacob?s wife is a direct descendent of Noah then Joseph is both Abraham?s and Noah?s progeny. But Br. warner the proof has to be from within the quran. God Bless Though.

Did you check on the Hebrew meanings of these words? i pretty much concentrate on lookin for the english meanings... but alot of bible stories contain a story about why a certain person became named a certain way. i won't say these stories are necessarily true but it should be pretty standard to accept that most ancient names carry a word meaning of some sort. that's why you can look up the meaning of names on babynames.com so disagreeing with the known meaning is alot different than disagreeing with the understanding that all names have meanings.

One should not behave like these people who instead of obeying God's commands, they chose to dispute His order and moke Moses. Peace Marie Good point. My other understanding is that God's commands are very simple and attainable by anybody. If you complicate them He will make them more difficult for you to attain. Best examle is how hadiths are complicating the deen. I think there is another example of those who made prohibited some "halal" food and God made it prohibited to them.

Peace "idolfree", The literal Muhammad can be proven through archeological evidences just like caesar, alexander the great, pharaoh, etc. GOD Bless! The problem is where to even begin to look. So many theories... The members of this forum can't even agree among themselves where the historical bearer of the Quran (wether his name was indeed Muhamad or not), was born. Do we look for archeological evidence in the present-day Mecca? Medina (where his tomb is believed to lie)? Or do we look in the Jordan/Palestine area? Or do we look in Iraq? Can we believe that the Quran is a product of the 7th Century? Or does it come from an even earlier time? The Islamic traditions tell us that the Prophet Muhamad sent two letters to each of the Sassanid Emperor "Khosrau" (Kissra) and the Byzantine Ruler Heraclios, inviting them to submit. Can this be confirmed? Is there any record of them having received such letters in the histories of both the Persian and Roman Empires? The prospect is mind-boggling to say the least. I personally believe that the Quran was the product of a single divinely inspired man, who lived somewhere in Arabia. If this not so, then all the verses which talk about the Prophet and his wives/daughters/houses, and how the faithful should not raise their voices against him, and should support and respect him, would not make any sense. God did not throw down printed copies of the Quran from the sky for people to read them. Sp I believe teh Quran was indeed revealed through one man. However, I don't think we should waste our energies trying to prove his existence from an archeological point of view, since it is likely we don't even know where to begin to look. Let's focus on his message, and not his person.

This shows us that there are three categories malaika= divine energies of the universe man (that which was created from mud/clay moulded into shape that which is above man- "man + ruh" which the malaika must obey. They do not obey just man(#2), only that which is above, man+ruh. 32.7-8-9 He Who has made everything which He has created most good He began the creation of man with (nothing more than) clay, And made his progeny from a quintessence of the nature of a fluid despised But He fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him something of His spirit. And He gave you (the faculties of) hearing and sight and feeling (and understanding) little thanks do ye give! Same as above, man was not created from ruh, man was already created when "ruh" was breathed into him/her 38.71-72 Behold, thy Lord said to the angels "I am about to create man from clay "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." same 21.91 And (remember) her who guarded her chastity We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples. It is the "virgin subconciuos mind", the mind devoted to protecting itself(the womb) from impurities, that gives birth to JEsus( a pure/energized/suboncious) when impregnated by the "ruh"(solar force) of God. It is the Solar Force that gives man LIFE, so that Solar Force is our Life Force. Life on this planet would not be if it were not for the Solar Force that COMES THROUGH the Sun, and that is how many people ended up worshipping the sun, rather that That which created the sun. 66.12 And Mary the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (her body) of Our spirit; and she testified to the truth of the words of her Lord and of His Revelations, and was one of the devout (servants). Same as above Adam and Jesus were created by God breathing His Spirit, IS there anyother exact likeness possible? The verses don't say Adam was created, it says "man". Jesus was "born" through "Mary" + "ruh(solar force) = the vitalaized/energized subconcious mind.

Transliteration Zikru rahmati rab bika 'abdahu_ zakariy ya_ 38 17 Yusuf Ali Have patience at what they say and remember Our Servant David the man of strength for he ever turned (to Allah). Transliteration Isbir ala_ ma_ yaqu_lu_na waz kur abdana_ da_wu_da zal aid in nahu_ aw wa_b There are other verses such as the following in which it is clear from the context its being referred to Muhammad. 2 23 Yusuf Ali And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant then produce a Surah like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (if there are any) besides Allah if your (doubts) are true. Transliteration Wa in kuntum fi raibim mimma_ nazzalna_ 'ala_ 'abdina_ fa'tu_ bisu_ratim mim mislih(i), wad' syuhada_'akum min du_nilla_hi in kuntum sa_diqin(a). That leaves us with the verses 171, 181 and 251 which do not identify ?His Servant?. Are there any verses which do not identify the ?servant? by name or by context?

Peace Tanveer Yes, I thought about that. There are two verions of string theories out there. One says there are 10 dimensions (6 hidden + 4) and the more popular one says there are 11 dimensions to the universe (7 hidden + 4). The first one seems to fit better with the scenario under discussion. God knows what the the truth is. However after reading about string theory I am convinced that the comprehensibility of 7 heavens concept will get better with the passage of time. String theory is a very powerful equation resulted from combining the quantum theory and general theory of relativity. All that is remaining to do is somehow prove the deductions of this theory by observations. Europe and USA are building atomic breakers to do that. Long time back the 7 heavens concept was in my list of "Difficulties in Quran". Now for me it has moved to a list of "Will get clear with time". There is a big part of physics still remaining to be explored.

Speaking about light, what is your own understanding of this beautiful parable in Surah (NUR), it's physical meaning, philosophical, metaphoric, or science if any. LIGHT UPON LIGHT. 2435 God is the Light of the heavens and the Earth. The parable of His light is as a niche within it a lamp, the lamp is within a glass, the glass is like a radiant star, which is lit from a blessed olive tree that is neither of the east nor of the west, its oil nearly gives off light even if not touched by fire. Light upon light, God guides to His light whom He pleases. And God sets forth parables for the people, and God is aware of all things. PARABLE OF PEOPLE WHO IS DECEIVED BY THEIR OWN FALSE BELIEF OR KNOWLEDGE. 2439 As for those who reject, their works are like a mirage in the desert. A thirsty person thinks it is water, until he reaches it, he finds it is nothing; and he finds God there and He pays him his due, and God is swift in judgment. DARKNESS UPON DARKNESS. 2440 Or like the darkness out in a deep ocean in the midst of violent waves, with waves upon waves and dark clouds. Now a brief summery telling us what on earth was Sabaath - as i picture it. From QD and Lanes. Yaum = punishment/favour of Allah. Ssabaat = bad disposition/ill-natured/bold-daring. Intelligence mixed with craft and forcast/very cunning/silent/lowering his eyes and looking towards the ground. Sabaati = (fem) Sharp in tongue/foul-tongued/vehemently clamorous. 007.161 YUS And remember it was said to them be tranquil there, entertain and help yourself as ye wish, and say words of humility and enter the gate in a posture of humility We shall forgive you your faults; We shall increase (the portion of) those who do good." 007.162 YUSUFALI But the transgressors among them changed the word from that which had been given them so we sent on them a plague from heaven. For that they repeatedly transgressed. Old Trans 007.163 YUSUFALI Ask them concerning the town standing close by the sea. Behold! They transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath. For on the day of their Sabbath their fish did come to them, openly holding up their heads, but on the day they had no Sabbath, they came not thus did we make a trial of them, for they were given to transgression. New Translation; 7163 And ask them about the entertainment which was presented to the men of knowledge when they transgressed in their ill-nature, at the time of prowling around punishments came to them shoals upon shoals because of (their) ill-nature and punishment did not come to them when they did not have ill-nature, thus did we test them because they used to disobey. 007.164 YUSUFALI When some of them said "Why do ye preach to a people whom Allah will destroy or visit with a terrible punishment?"- said the preachers" To discharge our duty to your Lord, and perchance they may fear Him." 007.165 YUSUFALI When they disregarded the warnings that had been given them, we rescued those who forbade Evil; but we visited the wrong-doers with a grievous punishment because they were given to transgression. 007.166 YUSUFALI When in their insolence they transgressed (all) prohibitions, We said to them "Be ye apes, despised and rejected." 007.167 YUSUFALI Behold! thy Lord did declare that He would send against them, to the Day of Judgment, those who would afflict them with grievous penalty. Thy Lord is quick in retribution, but He is also Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. 007.168 YUSUFALI We broke them up into sections on this earth. There are among them some that are the righteous, and some that are the opposite. We have tried them with both prosperity and adversity In order that they might turn (to us). 007.169 YUSUFALI After them succeeded an (evil) generation They inherited the Book, but they chose (for themselves) the vanities of this world, saying (for excuse) "(Everything) will be forgiven us." Salaams Samia, Nabi. Actually what I tried to get across was that any linguist who proofs that people/ human beings actually physically changed to monkeys aren?t worth name - linguists. And sorry from that point of view alone I personally value my self more - even though I may not be an Arab linguist - but using credible linguists like lanes and or qd suffices. Let?s look at another example La yazalu bunyanuhumuallathee banaw reebatan fee quloobihim illa an taqattaAAaquloobuhum waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun The foundation of those who so build is never free from suspicion and shakiness in their hearts, until their hearts are cut to pieces. And we were given knowledge before her, and we had submitted. 2743 And she was prevented by that which she served besides God. She was of the people who were rejecters. 2744 It was said to her "Enter the palace." So when she saw it she thought there was a pool, and she uncovered her legs. He said "It is a palace paved with crystal." She said "My Lord, I have wronged myself; and I submit with Solomon It says Solomans people were already submitters, while the queens people were rejecters. Since it says Soloman already submitted why would he have to re-submit with the queen ("I submit with Solomon&quot unless he did some act the was heretical to the faith-i.e being aggressive. And the meaning of the story is that men and women(or different peoples) have different qualities and have to unite to form a perfect harmony together and reform each other on their negative qualities(like materialism and aggression). He gave her faith outside that material world and she gave him patience-since she all most literally tested the water of what he was preaching to her not just outrightly accepting because she perceived him a threat. just my thoughts

The fire is the metaphor of one who is ruled by thier emotions(energy in motion). The image of the fire is destruction of all that nourishes and is useful.

Peace be upon you, Since we can never avoid life's adversities because we are all tested...it follows that peace and therefore happiness (The goal of life) comes from not being moved automatically by the emotions..life is all about our RESPONSES to lifes challenges...the difference betwen the one in the garden and the one in the fire is the RESPONSE to adversity.

It means "submission" and in the context of the Quran has been used to submit to the Will of GOD which neither the Christians nor those following Judaism deny, infact its at the core of every religion. A correct statement would be "Christians used the name Allah before the birth of Muhammad ibne Abdullah". GOD Bless!
