Salam, well i think it is safe to use Allah or God....as Allah means The God in translation,if i am not wrong Allah is an arabic word borrowed from aramaic meaning Al-illah...The God.Also,the most beautiful names belong to God...as long as we use the quranic attributes to call on God...we are safe...and language is not too relevant..but we should be careful of inventing new attributes and names without knowledge...as God condemnd those who invent names like the Allat,al uzza...etc....yeap..hope this helps...and well since quran mentions Allah i am MOST comfy with using Allah though i use it interchangeably with God duringg daily conversations. Assalamu alaikum Does anyone know the reason why the Quran isnt written in the order it was revealed? Did the Prophet tell his followers to record it in a different way or did someone else decide? How was the final order decided? Any info would be apprieciated ) Every verses are written when revealed, Muhammad had got the secretary called as katib.

Peace be upon you, I am lost as to the responses on this thread. I will just add however that the moon is used as a timing device according to its phases. Some of them "appear" to us on earth as if the moon has been "split" or a piece has been broken off. I am offering no explanation of the verse, just some thoughts. oon is not only earth's planet but as reflector of sun's light. It can be regarded the qiyamah will take place when priests or preachers are splited in interest.

Salam All, I have been thinking lately in the light of the Quran and reading all the verses dealing with the speech between God and Satan. In fact devil people and Satan compagnons have to be set free the same way God the All-Mighty granted Satan the freedom to do whatever he wants. I re-read all the verses of the Quran dealing with this issue so I changed my mind and I think no action should be taken against the devil. Peace and take care all. Myr. Devil is not invisible creature, it can be seen, it is men who make competition to Allah's law. They are given authority in a limited time not forever. !! When moslem feels not necessarily fighting against devil he may be Abu Jahal 's disciples !!!

When men try to make power competing His power, Allah will send Apostle to make him Powerfull in Allahm proxy. Allah Alim = Allah teach men the best way of life, Allah teach him the science (physics). No one can teach his own conjectural way of life, it is the authority of Allah. If men do, Allah will send massenger to teach men Allah's way of life.

Just updated All ayah's in which Shahr accurs - i think. 009.001 A declaration from Allah and His Messenger, to those of the Pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances - 009.002 Stay devoted in disposition to carrying out the four shahoor/ interactions and know that you not escape (from the punishment of) Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers. 009.003 And a declaration from Allah and His Messenger, to the people on the day of the Greater challenge- that Allah and His Messenger dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye mustn?t frustrate Allah And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith. 009.004 (But the treaties are) not dissolved with those Pagans with whom ye have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided any one against you. So fulfill your engagements with them to the end of their term for Allah loveth the righteous. 009.005 But if they withdraw from the forbidden interactions then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish counsel and are forthcoming then open the way for them for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. And these two ayahs? follow on from 2222 which is telling you to avoid the menstruation periods. for those who take an oath for abstention from their wives, a waiting for four bloods/periods is ordained; if then they return, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. if any of you die and leave widows behind, they shall wait concerning themselves four bloods/periods and ten days When they have fulfilled their term, there is no blame on you if they dispose of themselves in a just and reasonable manner. And Allah is well acquainted with what ye doa. So what are the two shahr in the following? 004.092 YUSUFALI Never should a believer kill a believer; but (If it so happens) by mistake, (Compensation is due) If one (so) kills a believer, it is ordained that he should free a believing slave, and pay compensation to the deceased's family, unless they remit it freely. If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you, and he was a believer, the freeing of a believing slave (Is enough). If he belonged to a people with whom ye have treaty of Mutual alliance, compensation should be paid to his family, and a believing slave be freed. For those who find this beyond their means, (is prescribed) a fast for two months running by way of repentance to Allah for Allah hath all knowledge and all wisdom. Wilful killing is forbidden, but being an accident the two shahrs envisaged are to free a debtor and to pay compensation. But if you can?t do these then be so sad so you don?t have words to speak and may be to eat neither a few days for each shahr running consecutively. Or (it generally means) He made it apparent as bad, evil, abominable, foul, or unseemly, he exposed it as such. Interaction causing pain was revealed in it the quran a guidance for mankind and clear proofs of the guidance and the criterion so whosoever testifies amongst you (to) such a shahr/ an interaction/ Shahr he should fast it and whosoever is sick or on journey (the same) number of days other wants Allah for you ease and not want for you hardship so that you complete the number and that you should magnify Allah on that he guided you so that you may give thanks. Salaam JM Sorry for the belated response I am sorry, but I don?t understand. You know, I am only a beginner in Arabic. What is the verb in ya3jibuni ? could you write it with Arabic letters ? Some scholars relate the first "i7daahuma" to "memory f." other than to testemony. Which scholars ? One or two of the classic interpreters. Do you want a name/s? If yes, I will post it. I do not remember it now. However, there is even a better explanantion which is each of the two "i7daahunna" refers to each of the two women, to give the understanding that each of them (the women) may forget a different part of the testemony and each will remind the other. This definitely is different from one woman forgets, the other reminds her (taDillu i7daahuma fa tudhakkiruha alukhra). It is mutual forgetting and reminding. In this explanation, the 2 women remain each other. But, why is it a better explanation than ?one woman remain the other? ? Because it is direct. We do not have to (presume) things or (guess) which "i7dahunna" belongs to whom. Interesting idea ! It would give "Lest one of the two forgets/is lost , then (in that case) one of the two reminds the other". But, in this case, is the subjunctive in tuthakkira still justified ? Well, either we subject (tudhakkira) to the human grammar and find a reason for putting the verb in the subjunctive, like saying (fa 3alal alukhraun tudhakkiraha &#1575, or just presume that our grammarians have not grasped all the grammar in the qur'aan, and that not all the rules of the subjunctive verbs, for example, have been understood. This word writes . Can someone tell me what is the last letter? It looks like a (yaa) Without the 2 dots below. And what is the verb ? It is pronounced like the alif. It is always a final letter. It occurs in prepositions ( ) , nouns ( ) in which case it is a marker of the feminie like the taa' marbuta, and in verbs ( ) indicating that in the perfect form or when deriving any other word from them and it this letter is no more final, it will change into ya ( ).

The Quran never telling about rituism, but law (ad deen). The reveals of Allah's verses shall be treated as Allah reveals law to men to manage their life according to Allah's rules instead of men's rules, nothing else.

Kafir is you, if you believe in Allah but you were included in this verse Hast thou not turned thy vision to those who declare that they believe in the revelations that have come to thee and to those before thee? Their (real) wish is to resort together for judgment (in their disputes) to the Evil One, though they were ordered to reject him. But Satan's wish is to lead them astray far away (from the Right). When it is said to them "Come to what Allah hath revealed, and to the Messenger" thou seest the Hypocrites avert their faces from thee in disgust.

Peace JM, I do understand your point, I just don't agree that being naturally generous and compassionate is removed from believing in God. I think allowing these natural attributes to prosper is, in action, believing in God. Could you explain this sentence? What is the intuition behind it ? Does it have a Quranic basis? As for taking it to a higher level, ie. fighting oppression and helping the poor, I don't see an outward belief in God as the defining attribute with which this level can be attained - because if that's the case, then it's not helping for the sake of helping(with it's built-in rewards), but helping for the sake of a reward in the afterlife. I think what you're portraying is that doing good must always come with a reward. And I agree. But I think the reward is always built-in, not something to be "paid" later. What is the built-in reward for fighting (at the cost of one?s life) the oppressor? And do you think that to believe in God is useless? I don't think the many great people in this world who fought oppression and poverty did so for a later reward, but they did so because their energy in compassion was so acute and refinied and clear, that they really had no choice. Most of us can get there with practice. The more compassion we allow ourselves to feel, the more acute it will become. I don?t agree. The belief in an ultimate justice in the hereafter can be so deeply internalized in one?s mind (often by the education of the parents) that it can become nearly unconscious. Obeying rules in order to obtain rewards and avoid punishments doesn?t seem very moral. Moral judgments explicitly prescribing this strategy are classified at the lowest stage in Kohlberg?s sequence. Conformity also doesn?t seem very moral in and of itself. Most people believe that to qualify as moral, a behavior must spring from an internal source. I liked the clarfication between being wealthy and being materialistic. While the Quran does not condemn the first (we are encouraged to roam the earth and seek God's bounties in Quran), Quran condemns the second, that is, being obsessed with wealth and status. It is true the majority succombs to the latter. For most people, status and wealth in reference to people and society (how others will perceive us) is very important and even more important than how their Creator actually perceives them. It is a driven strong force and that's why in Quran the several reminders and warnings that our possessions and children are but a test. I attended a Quran-only conference in Newark early this month by Dr Fazly and part of it was about the sense of "giving" and "being charitable" in relation to the creation. It was amazing to realize that God the All-Mighty created the eath with a spherical shape and not cylindrical or cubical or other shape for a very good reason. Through the ratio volume (content/supply)/surface that can be used by us, we would have been much poorer if the earth was of another shape, in other words, God the All-Mighty has created and established the natural laws that governs HIS bounties in a way that they are made available to us without limits. (I wont' go into the details of the numbers and calculations as this is not the thread subject) but the point is that God the All-Mighty created everything at our reach, and we can see that in many instances, without doing anything, trees will give fruits and flowers, cows will give milk, chicken will give eggs, rivers will give water, etc. and all these creations or part of the big creation do not complain when they give but continue to give, because they all submit to their Lord and follow HIS natural laws while we the humans, we tend to go against this nature, we do not give without worrying or complaining or counting, or expecting something in return. Have you noticed that some trees will even make their fruits available to us without picking them up?-), they let their fruits drop on the ground, made available to anyone to be picked up and without asking the person if he/she is poor/needy, subhan Allah wa al-hamdullillah for this blessing and signs we often do take for granted.
