peace, I would strongly recommend verifying any translation. You MUST learn to use the tools available to you to do this. Transliteration and M&S Ahmed's translation Wamina (and from) al layli (the night) fasabbihhu (so praise/glorify Him) wa (and (at)) idbara (?) al nnujoomi (the star's/planet's) All you need to do is research "idbara" to see what it means. I suggest using the resources at www.studyquran.org Wakas

Al-Kitaab book(s), writing(s), scripture(s), law(s), decree(s). It can apply to any people that have laws or scriptures that they follow. In the Quran it applies to Jews and Christians in alot of cases but it is not limited to them. Muslims in the old days used to consider Hindus people of the book as well as they have scriptures. The opposite of People of the book are lawless people. Godbless, Anwar

Peace be upon you, It is very simple. Most people move from Pleasure to Pain, Pain to Pleasure. Happiness is a life that moves from pleasure to Peace, Peace to pleasure. When you have it, ENJOY IT, when its lost or gone, be at peace. Thats happiness

Peace be upon you, Killing your "nafs"(subconcious) is to kill the conditionings within you. Musa told the sons of israel to "kill" thier nafs(subconscious) in order for them to be born again. Leaving your land is the same thing, when yuo go to a different land, you learn new things and you change. Thats why the rest of the verse says "and if that they did what they are being advised/warned with it (it) would have been best for them" Nafs has never been able to kill, Allah wants nafs to be nafsul muthamainah (Al Fajr). The understanding nafs as hadith says is totally wrong... Men has been ordered to control nafs not to kill.

Peace Noble, There was an interesting book written some years back by Dr. Abdulsaboor Shaheen (professor at Azhar University) where he argued using verses from the Quran that evolution is a reality and that the ruh/spirit was only blown into Adam after he had reached a certain level of development (please note that most creatures have a nafs/soul, but only humans have a ruh/spirit as well). Anyway, this was a huge subject and some other scholars called for his imprisonment as an apostate who is peddling ideas outside the accepted norm. Ruh is not spirit who make men alife, but the understanding of Al Kitab that blown to men's consiousness. Muhammad was blow by Ruhul Quds, as well as Jesus and other prophets (See QS.42/52) as a result they come to fight for etablishment of deen (QS.42/13). Islam without Rasul that blown by uhul Quds is nothing....

Salaam all, Really sorry for the late reply. The last week had been disastrous for me. From the discussion going, and by re-reading the related verses, it does seem that my proposal of treating "muslimin" should be rejected. And thus, it is just a common noun. Although if "submitter" is not considered a good translation, then we probably should create another one. Many thanks to Ayman, Ahmed, and Samia for the Arabic knowledge. =adley= Muslim shall represent to obyance to Allah's deen, it will fit to call as devoter

peace Ahmed, Peace xthug so i am illiterate for not knowing Arabic Yes if we will talk Arabic language Exactly as I?m illiterate if I try to talk Chinese you also wrote The Quran The Wisdom (can not be the Quran because the Quran is item #1) Things that we don?t know (can not be the Quran because the Quran is item #1) This is how simple I see it, but if you want to twist it to create a feel good religion for you, be my guest, that is your life so becuase you see it that simple, then everyone else not seeing it your way is twisting there faith? when I said simple, I meant the following (something AND something AND something) means we have three somethings so if they can?t get to understand the above, I wonder what they need to get to understand the above common sense that a child will understand thats intresting....no not really it's just deluded. Sorry? peace, ex Salam

Salaams, isn't this just the title?(Alif, Lam, Mim) 21-3. Being in pain or suffering pain. (Alif, Lam, Mim) That is the book/ knowledge/ Decree/ Ordainment in it guidance for the pious who believe in unseen and perform counsel and out of what we have provided spend. 31,2. Suffering in pain. Allah no god but He the everliving the sustainer. He sent to you the book/ law/ teaching/ knowledge with- justice confirming what was shown/ told of before it and He sent the torah and the Gospel. Suffering. Do think the people that they will be left to say we believe and they will not be tested. 301,2. This is originally about the romans???????????! Sufferings. Have defeated the desires in their nearest (in their worldly) disposition and they after will gain mastery. In a few years with Allah the matter before and after and on that day will rejoice the believers. 311,2 Sufferings. These are the communications of the book/ law/ teaching/ knowledge discriminating between truth and falsehood. 321,2 Sufferings. The revelation (of) the book/ law/ teaching/ knowledge no doubt in it from lord of the worlds.

Danish, QS.62/9-10 does not specifically refers to Friday, because jumu'ah means gathering, can be any time, not necesarily doing rituism.

Salaam Ahmed, Thanks for bringing 2226-227 to the issue of desertion by the husband (or the wife). I'll look into it a bit further. Well, it seems off topic, but I guess it helps to shed some light on this issue of Wa-Fa-Ya. Thanks. =adley= Peace I agree that it is off topics, i was searching last night and this verse just caught my eyes, it is clear that it is about rebelling wives and the husbands should desert them for a period of 4 months before they divorce them what caught my eyes is the plural verb "Azamo", i felt it means both the husband and the wife however I had another thought later on and realized that it can also mean the HUSBANDS as a plural I think i got mixed up with the hadith, the issue of desrting the wife is dicussed in details in the hadith as far as I believe and the wife can chase something called Khalih, i.e to seek divorce because of the husband desrting her, in fact I had a relative in egypt who just got divorced in such way and ironically i found that the egyptian christains use it nowdays to get divorced of their christian husbands if they desrt them cheers

I cannot see the relation between "the attempt of the enemies of the prophet to tamper with the quran" and the verses you brought up. Could you expatiate? Thanks. Some moslem think that they shall follow Muhammad character who love every men regardless of their believe, in other hand they reject that Allah has enemy, or Allah has ordered to make war. The truth that Muhammad can not be separated to the whole story of Al Quran where he took part entirely.

Peace, 923 O you who believe, do not ally yourselves even with your parents and your siblings, if they prefer disbelieving over believing. Those among you who ally themselves with them are transgressing. And We instructed the human to be good to his parents. But if they strive to make you set up partners with Me, then do not obey them. To Me are all your destinies, and I will inform you of what you used to do. These verses seems very perturbing, specially the bold parts. How can a mother (or father) make her siblings an ememy (opposite of ally) against her and vice versa? What are the implications and consequences of disobeying from either sides? Once again, I believe the "agenda" is of historical significance? Your thoughts please? Both verse is not contravene each other, the emphazyse shall be on disbelieving Auliya is a leader, instead of ally, see the more appropriate translation O you who believe! Take not for Auliya your fathers and your brothers if they prefer disbelief to Belief. And whoever of you does so, then he is one of the Zalimoon (wrong-doers, etc.). ( , At-Taubah, Chapter #9, Verse #23) When our father became a disbeliever we should not make him as leader for believer. Mentioning QS.298 it was a to support the QS.923, when our father to be a musyreek (not believe Allah is our leader) we should not obey his orders (back to be disbeliever), but we have to respect him as our parent (speak tenderly, good treatment etc) Compare to And (remember) when Luqman said to his son when he was advising him "O my son! Join not in devoting others with Allah. Verily! Joining others in devotion with Allah is a great Zoolm (wrong) indeed. ( , Luqman, Chapter #31, Verse #13) Matthew 10 34 Think not that I came to send peace on the earth I came not to send peace, but a sword. Matthew 10 35 For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law Matthew 10 36 and a man's foes `shall be' they of his own household. Matthew 10 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. So what wrong with God's verses ?

  • WHat is the meaning of tarteel?

The word "tarteel", comes from the root "ratl", which means a kind of organized arrangement. When we say in Arabic "ratlun" of soldiers, or "ratlun" of trucks, etcc... We mean a certain grouping or arrangement. Hence the "tarteel" of the Quran could be an organized grouping together of all those verses which deal with the same topic. For instance, if I wanted to find the laws for divorce in the Quran, I would first to do a "tarteel" of all verses in the Quran which deal with the subject of divorce. The word does NOT mean rhythmic chanting of the verses, as the ignorant mullas and sheikhs would have you believe. If you mean by sequences (as by reveals) and tematics I agree.
