Peace Peace Grourself, How do you prepare your meat? I think we can wash the blood out of slaughtered animals. Sure some are left (clotting) but as you can see this goes out of the 'running blood' category. I like my meat cooked ) . To me, that is tayyib, for others maybe not. All the good is allowed.

    (2) Does anyone know if any other scripture talks about punishment in the grave? Interestingly the jews had a similar concept. They call it "Sheol" / "The world of the dead" and references to the "sheol" can be found in (Gen 3735, Gen 4431, Gen 4431, Num 1630-33, Deu 3222, Isa 514 and many more..) and the "details" of what is happening in the 'sheol' can only be found in Midrash, Mishna, Gemarra, Talmud (Oral Tradition), which of course includes many 'bizzare' concepts yet also many similarities. And another one is from Mithraism... A soul recently dead will face "Osiris" god of the dead, and the soul will face a 'quick judgement and questioning' by 'Osiris'. .. the one that did not pleased him (Osiris) will be tortured in sheol / the underworld. And from http//www.mystae.com/restricted/streams/scripts/osiris.html "There is some evidence that in Egypt the slain corn-spirit - the dead Osiris - was represented by a human victim, whom the reapers slew on the harvest-field, mourning his death in a dirge..." Thus the image of "Grim Reaper" is born... Wallahualam Bisshowab..

SaLaM Amanda The people wanted to see Jesus die. That is exactly what God gave them. They wanted to kill a prophet of God and God led them astray. Just look how lost the christians are. Its not deception. Its punishment.

PEACE, MZ357. Ayat 6146, does not read..."every animal with undivided hoof", the correct translation is as follows 6146 And to those who were Jews We made unlawful every animal having claws/ZAFARA, and of oxen and sheep We made unlawful to them the fat of both, except such as was on their backs or the entrails or what was mixed with bones this was a punishment We gave them on account of their rebellion, and We are surely Truthful. The Arabic term is Main Entry ZAFARA to claw or scratch with a nail fingernail clutch claw Nails Claws Talons. The Dictionary of the Holy Quran, by Abdul Mannan Omar, pg 350. A Dictionary of Modern Arabic Written Arabic, by Hans Wehr, pg. 581, has the same definition as Omar. The English-Arabic Translator Dictionary, Steinglass, pg. 146, has the same definition as well. Peace. D

peace Grourself, What I found odd about your comment was that if that was the case, then translators have neglected something rather basic, it would seem. In any case, I have some information (based on evidence wink)... taken from Wheeler M Thackston "An Introduction to Koranic and Classical Arabic" p7 Note that proper names may be diptote ('ahmadu), triptote (muhammadun) or invariable (musa). Triptote proper names like muhammadun, behave grammatically like indefinite nouns; semantically, however, they are definite. Perhaps you were meaning the diptote form, because it states elswhere (p4-5) Diptotes never have the -n termination of the indefinite state, and the genitive and the accusative cases are identical. Nouns classed as diptotes are diptote in the indefinite state only; all nouns are inflected as triptotes when definite. Wakas

Peace all, After further discussion, I think it's fair to conclude that Neutral Food under the category of Restricted food is misleading as per my original question. As all the Restricted food is called corrupt/vile/fisqun...then we have Restricted Food = Fisqun plus a subset of Fisqun which is Rijsun. As all restricted food is fisqun and one item in that category is called rijsun. Restricted Food = Fisqun(subset Rijsun). Any comments welcome, especially what appropriate words to use as opposed to the arabic.

Greetings Joe, Thanks for adding your comments? Apple Pie wrote You can witness this for yourself from 3.59? You can also witness the opposite from 359. Just my opinion. You are correct in stating that this would be your ?opinion??.as it is the one that you have been taught by Islam. Unfortunately, Islam is not the Koran. Not even close? Secondly?it is doubtful that you would be willing to leave the comfort zone of your ?opinion? and actually directly rebut our exegesis. Our exegesis is irrefutable. wink Apple Pie wrote Unless you take Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then we are not worshiping the same Creator God of the Universe? I still think you make no sense. You sound like this guy on another forum who actually believes he is the incarnation of the anti-Christ. Allah knows all things and Jesus must learn and Allah is his rabb/sustainer or lord . Apple Pie wrote Perhaps Islam has blinded you from seeing what is truly contained in your book of faith? Sometimes when we stretch the meanings of things in the quran we will find that there are discrepencies which allows us to correct ourselves. The interesting thing is that while Islam vehemently denies Jesus His rightful deity; Islam?s book of faith whole-heartedly proclaims His divinity?.! Perhaps, one day, Muslims will actually critically examine their book of faith for themselves instead of giving lip-service to the man-made machine called Islam? Thanks?

Peace Jaxal, This is what i had in mind when i was replying I know, thats what is meant by the IF in your post...the thing is, I too remembered thinking at the time that's what the verse meant, but after reading the quran on its own, it lends no credence to this story at all...I think it's just one more concocted story to try and explain/embellish a verse, it fails at doing so when analyzed though...

DoctorNO! Look again at the evidences.... In the Quran (those beside 434) Dharaba when used on a human object only implies a physical striking or a beating. It is correct that all other contexts of "Darab" dealing with human beings means to strike or hit. This can be verified with this lecture in questions implication to think - meaning to use common sense. I think that the most important cue in this verse confimring that we are to leave our women is that the "previous step" encourages us to take one step in that direction, while "beating/striking" the women would be a step back... In conclusion, try to use a little common sense to start with! Dharaba was applied solely to the wife object. Therefore if you would translate it to separate then you have to separate just the wife. it is not the marriage you are separating but the wife only, whatever that implies. The wife is indeed object in this clause, which proves absolutely nothing of your cause. "I left my women/girlfriend/lawyer/whatever". Please evolve! The message of the verse is reconcillation, not divorce. Does that say in the verse? However, it does not have much importance for the beating issue, does it? Arab scholars that include Rashad Khalifa translated that to "beat". I belive that the arab scholars that you refer to are the ones indoctrinated by the world religion of islam, which is disussed in another thread. Second of all, those peoples comprehansion is not very representative for the majority of this forum's ditto. /S

SaLaM From the context of the Surah, in my opinion, God is telling us what the hard path will be like. And why we should choose it. It quite literally, in my opinion, means the easy path and the hard path.

Hey Albion, how's it going? The question needs to be asked, is Muhammad a TRUE Prophet and a Prophet of a loving God. Muhammad said First of all - without making you believe that I'm mocking you - let me ask you the following Did muhammad say this? Then who is he? And did he put his initials somewhere that they are visible to you or me? How can you tell that this Muhammad was a prophet? Once the Sacred Months are past, you may kill the idol worshipers when you encounter them, punish them, and resist every move they make. If they repent and observe the Contact Prayers and give the obligatory charity, you shall let them go. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. Al-mushrikiin (translated as "the idol worshippers") means God-distracting obsticles, not the people performing it. Also note what I wrote on 489, 91 a bit further down... Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. I have no idea what it has to do with either a prophet or his hatred. It's mentioned in the context of believers and it is pretty obvious that they by not believing are exiled by God and not by the believers! Thus, believers are not to confuse non-believers with belivers or regard them as "faith-allies". No more different than for hockey players not to confuse tennis players with their hockey-allies. O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. O ye who believe! Choose not your fathers nor your brethren for friends if they take pleasure in disbelief rather than faith. The quran "is a guidance for the forethoughtful(22)...", and in this manner it is nothing odd about stepping aside from jewish, chistian or non-believing mind discours. I cannot see anything wrong with criticizing a belief and adding that the pursuers of these believs are not to be allied with. So where's the hatred in these contexts taught? They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them Ye will find others who desire that they should have security from you, and security from their own folk. So often as they are returned to hostility they are plunged therein. If they keep not aloof from you nor offer you peace nor hold their hands, then take them and kill them wherever ye find them. Against such We have given you clear warrant. As for the killing part, I don't buy it. What is the point of seizing someone in order to actually physically kill the person. Do you get that? Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. . When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying) I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger. You are aware of the fact that the quran often speaks in metaphors, aren't you? Muhammads teachings of hatred and KILLINGS are that of a warlord I'm sure they are, I'm looking forward to hear something about this person's horrible teachings, once you can provide them for everyone to see. Perhaps you may post it on this forum?
