So under this interpretation, I think the jews in question were reincarnated as apes (they went from a higher being, to a lower being). The Bible describes beasts that Adam ruled over. I see these as being humans or angels but their names/types/forms can be somewhat symbolically represented in the animals we see on earth. Maybe being an ape, or going from something higher to the form of an ape is retrogression. It is like going from rich to poor perhaps. I think this notion of going from a higher being to a lower being, fits well with We said, “…and do not approach this tree, else you will be of those who did wrong. So, the devil tricked both and he brought both of them out from what they were in, and We said, "Descend, some of you to others as enemies…” (Quran 235-36) Descend = ha-Ba-Tay = to go forth, descend, cause to come down, descend from a high state to a low one, move from one place to another, enter into, change in condition, come forth from, become low, degraded. Peace Centi50 I interpret the verse in the following way When some people get fed up with life, they go out and kill people unjustly (note that killing sufficiently evil people is good and just. But if you kill someone randomly, or if you kill someone whom you believe to be good, then you are evil. If you kill someone whom you think is good, you are potently evil). Some people when they want more from life, they go out raping and stealing. If someone is fed up with life, instead of doing these things, it is better that they kill themselves. That way they are not choosing respite (as Satan sought respite from God). That way they are not worthy of hell because they have not furthered evil. They have not willingly sought to be the kind of evil that you rightfully enjoy seeing suffer (love of God/Good is good, hatred of evil is good). Evil people sacrifice good for evil, good people sacrifice evil for good. When people go through hardship (which is a product of being unfair to God), the best thing they can do is to try and reconcile themselves. It is guaranteed that the only reason they are suffering is because there is a layer of insincerity to God within them. Once they TRULY reconcile this, their hardship will end. Some people may not have the willpower or passion for God/Truth/Goodness to reconciles this. In that scenario, if they really don't like life, and they really can't be bothered to continue, then they should kill themselves. Of course, if they interpret the act of killing themselves as being an act of rebellion or disobedience against God, then they should not do this, but when this is not their intention, then they are simply opting out. This is not a sin, and it is better than sinning (raping and stealing).

Back to the topic, I agree with your point, the red spots are not diacritical points distinguishing e.g. ra from zay, but diacritical marks, fatha, kasra, etc. So Codex Wetzstein II 1913 doesn't prove anything. But I would maintain my theory that the original word was "arza", not "azar" due to the fact arza perfectly fits the context and metathesis (inversion of root letters) is frequent in Semitic languages. Except that no known manuscript can prove it.

Salam, Uzayr (عُزَيْرٌ) in verse 930 is not Ezra at all, although both names have cognate roots respectively in Arabic and Hebrew. In fact, speaking of Ezra in the context of Surah 9 would be a sheer non-sense. Uzayr is a derivative of a word (3zr) whose meaning is "the Instructor". In Hebrew, there are two words that have this meaning. The first one is Ha-Doresh. A transliteration of this expression in Arabic has given the name "Idris" (briefly mentioned in 1956 and 21.85). That is, the title "Ha-Doresh" in Hebrew gave rise to the proper name "Idris" in Arabic. The second one derives from the Hebrew root H-N-KH (חֲנוֹךְ) which has given the name Enoch. In the Jewish traditions, several characters bore the name Enoch. In the context on my explanation, the correct Enoch is this one https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enoch_(ancestor_of_Noah) Interestingly, this Enoch is also identified to Idris by the classical Muslim tradition. This community believed like their ancestors that Uzayr was the "Son of Man", like the Nassaras (not exactly Christians in my opinion, but Gnostics) believed that Jesus was the Son of Man, and the Son of Man meant the Son of God.

Those who do so belong to those who are interested in such gossip and lies males and females alike. Those who are good will not accept without checking and will not spread rumours and lies- males and females-. The good people males and females belong to each other in this case and will be innocent of listening and spreading lies. The bad is for the bad- males and females- and the good is for the good- males and females- The verse is not talking about the bad marrying or being with bad and vice versa. Peace jkhan after thinking abouut the ayah for a couple days I see that it may be, in fact, referring to the awhyayna ilayka ruhan min amrina perhaps the inspiration itself is the nur that Allah is referring to here. Al Kitab is a part of that wahi God knows best.

Think of it this way, if you are married to someone and they commit Zina, then you find out, would you stay with them if they carry on committing zina? Or they with you if you commit it ? Therefore only if both partners commit zina and agree to carry on being married together and keeping committing zina- like wife/husband swapping...etc. Which can only mean what the verse is saying to you,agreeing to zina in marriage can only be possible if both partners are committing zina. Normal marriage of people who are loyal to each other do not commit zina or if they commit zina under some circumstances and are caught they either repent and are reconciled or divorce. If one is a believer they should try their best to follow GOD s commands especially not repeating sins like zina continuously. It makes complete sense to me! GOD bless you. Peace.

I was told by the Quran, that there had been attempts to write verses of the book with their own hands. And they had hidden the truth, confound the truth with falsehood. So there is no difference between the Taurat and the Injil today and when the Quran was revealed. 275 Did you expect that they would believe with you, when a group of them had heard the words of God then altered them knowingly after having understood? 279 So woe to those who write the Book with their hands then say "This is from God," so that they can purchase with it a cheap price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they gained. 371 "O people of the Book, why do you confound the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know?" I ever thought, is God unfair to the people of the book who came later? In the same Quran, Allah recounts how the previous Books have been altered and partially hidden, or mixed with false verses, and on the other hand Allah still commands the people of the book to stick to what has been given to them. 568 Say "O people of the Book, you are not upon anything until you uphold the Taurat and the Injil and what was sent down to you from your Lord." And for many of them, what was sent down to you from your Lord will only increase them in transgression and rejection. So do not feel sorry for the rejecting people. With the Bible that exists today, he can find that there is no god but Allah, and Jesus is his messenger. He also believes in the last day, doing good as taught in the "books that are considered corrupted". Because of this I truly believe in God's justice. I don't like the way of thinking that there is only one way to reach heaven, only through the "best book". What if I wasn't born into an ummah with the best book given by the God? How can I accept the fact that there is a group of people who have inherited a book that has been corrupted and are still forced to take guidance from it? Alhamdulillah, The God I know through the Quran is very fair. He gave the same guidance to each people through their respective books and preserve the reminder in them. 548 And We have sent down to you the Book with the truth, affirming what is between your hands of the Book and guardian it. So judge between them by what God has sent down, and do not follow their desires from what has come to you of the truth. For each of you We have made law, and a well defined way; and if God had willed, He would have made you all one nation, but He tests you with what He has given you; so race to do good. Brother I know there were people who were corrupting Taurah OR Injeel OR even Quran at the time of prophet Muhamed.. But how can they corrupt the copies of believers... Even now there may be so many corrupt version of Quran.. In Arabic and even in translations.. Corruption and those who corrupt is ever present... But if there was a time where no believers to hold Taurah OR injeel then corruption will overtake and eradicate the root and later generation people would only have the corrupted version... Try to grasp it... I am not against Bible or its people...but what I am against is against corruption.. Up until prophet Mohamed period or even little after that probably there would have been believing Jews and Christian who were upholding true Torah and Injeel that's undeniable... Still at that society corrupted version were there at the hands of people of of book who were disbeilivers and intentionally were keep corrupting the genuine book.. For that believers not responsible.. So, do you mean to say when Taurah was recited to Muhamed it was a corrupted book and that Muhamed was satisfied with it.. Peace, The Quran uses the word “Hout” to describe the whale which swallowed Jonah (37142) as well as the fish Moses and his guide were carrying with them (1761) as well as the fish the fishermen who did not observe the Sabaath were missing (7163) - so I would say that the Quran does not follow this mammal/fishdefinition we hear being observed. P.S. interesting fact, because of this la k of distinction, in Arabic we have created a new word “Samak” to indicate a “fish”, while we use “Hout” to mean a “whale”. Nope. Everyone has access to Allah's abundance. Nothing is impossible. But not every person wants the same thing. Take an individual's ability and wish into consideration. Some people do want to be employed by others. Rank can mean almost anything like leadership skill or knowing how to run a company. It isn't important for a person to be personally wealthy to start or run one. Money can come from other sources. These days not even loan is needed. But wealth is given by God to a person so they can use it for the betterment of their community. 4332 gives one example so that some may employ others in service. Apparently, this is a part of formula that governs God's creations. He condemns the idea of hoarding and showing off wealth. See 934 O you who believe, many religious leaders and preachers take the people's money illicitly, and repel from the path of GOD. Those who hoard the gold and silver, and do not spend them in the cause of GOD, promise them a painful retribution. 924 Proclaim "If your parents, your children, your siblings, your spouses, your family, the money you have earned, a business you worry about, and the homes you cherish are more beloved to you than GOD and His messenger,** and the striving in His cause, then just wait until GOD brings His judgment." GOD does not guide the wicked people. 969 Some of those before you were stronger than you, and possessed more money and children. They became preoccupied with their material possessions. Similarly, you have become preoccupied with your material possessions, just like those before you have become preoccupied. You have become totally heedless, just as they were heedless. Such are the people who nullify their works, both in this world and in the Hereafter; they are the losers.

I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike (idrub) off every fingertip of them." there is no preposition or "bi" here but it is a literal hit/strike. Is this an error or have I got it wrong? Thanks! Quoted here for reference fa idriboo fawqa al-aAAnaqi wa idriboo minhum kulla bananin = so strike above/over the necks, and strike from them every/each finger/extremity. Some use "smite". Translators are divided when it comes to the issue of who is being addressed by this command, even though the verse itself clearly states who is being addressed at the start, and that is the angels/controllers. In terms of what is more likely, it should be noted that this verse is likely addressed to the controllers than to the believers, due to the Arabic construction (i.e. no obvious break in addressee throughout and the first "fa" refers to the controllers, thus the second "fa" most likely does also) and it is in the imperative mood, meaning it is a command to be followed. Thus, it is impractical and illogical to command all believers when in battle to strike above/over the necks and each/every finger from the enemy. Especially since there is no need for doing both! Therefore it more likely refers to the controllers, as we shall now examine When your Lord inspires* to the angels/controllers** “I am with you so keep firm those who believed. I shall cast terror into the hearts/minds*** of those who reject; so strike above/over the necks, and strike from them every/each finger/extremity.” *imperfect tense, i.e. an action in the process of being done. **angels is better translated as controllers, i.e. forces in control of certain functions/laws. There are some controllers we know about, e.g. those found in nature F=ma, E=mc² etc. and some we do not know about. ***qalb is often used like the English word "heart", meaning the physical organ, but more often for the locus of feelings/intuitions etc. The verse seems to imply then God will instil/cast terror into the heart/minds of those who reject, and then nature's forces take their course, resulting in affecting anything above the neck, e.g. the throat/mind/thoughts/senses/breathing and limbs/fingers of the rejecters, i.e. likely causing impairment of their performance. Instilling a sense of terror/fear in someone often results in their mind/thoughts/senses being affected/paralysed, and often results in trembling/shaking, especially transferring to the hands, which would likely result in weak fighting skills (swordsmanship or accuracy of arrows) when in battle. It is also interesting to note that when someone is fearful or anxious/nervous, their throat often becomes dry and precipitates an involuntary gulp reaction, i.e. a manifestation of fear/anxiety. Physical manifestations of anxiety trouble concentrating, feeling like your mind's gone blank, dizziness, shortness of breath, muscle tension, fatigue, headaches (source). The above understanding may also help clarify the confusion some translators have about 817 on who really did the defeating and who really did the casting (Arabic rama, root Ra-Miim-Ya). As it likely refers to the use of "cast" (Arabic olqee, root Lam-Qaf-Ya) done by God in 812. Also see 3326 for comparison. Interestingly, if we take "rama" to mean "throw or cast" as in arrows or pebbles in 817 as done by some translators, then obviously the believers did not strike above the necks and each finger, making this interpretation even less likely. As is common, there are conflicting accounts between the traditional tafsirs on 817 and what was thrown, e.g. Asbab Al-Nuzul by Al-Wahidi (arrow), and Tafsir al-Jalalayn (pebbles), and Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs (dust). See M.Asad's note on 817 which mentions several possible explanations. Interestingly, some traditional interpretations take 812 to mean the "angels" literally struck off the necks in battle (but neglect to mention the fingers!), but if this was the case, then there would be little need for 817 to re-affirm who really did the defeating, i.e. God, as it would be rather obvious. To resolve this problem, some say just as the believers were to strike the necks with their swords the heads of the enemy would fall off, and this was the angels at work! It is a fanciful explanation, but again, they neglect to mention the fingers, or the logic of this application. Thus, the division amongst translators as to whom the command refers is likely related to their misunderstanding of DRB, hence their awkward explanations. To conclude, 812 is addressed to the controllers, and DRB does not mean a literal/physical "strike" e.g. by sword, as is commonly understood, unless taken metaphorically. Thus, may be better rendered as "put forth" or "put into commotion" in these two occurrences.
