What do we mean by understand Qoran? Can we understand every verse? For example the prophet did not have the whole Qoran most of his life. He did not even start to receive it until he was 4o years old-according to history- and received verses until his last year in this life. So who can claim that he/she understands Qoran all of it?Should we? I find it is a blessing to just have Qoran. Those drawn to Qoran will begin to read/study this book and take it seriously. Then they begin to value the contents. They will start to comprehend and appreciate how God has designed and structured His final scripture in perfect Arabic. Then they would never underestimate what God says about His Quran to be divinely preserved for all coming generations, easy to understand( how to lead a better life), straightforward except for allegories, complete, perfect , fully detailed, and consistent without any ambiguity or contradictions. They would distinguish the difference between truth and falsehood, divine and man-made. They know how deep, awesome, and glorious it is when God says He establishes the truth with His words. This fact instills reverence, humility, and a sense of certainty in their hearts. Some verses will be absolutely clear to them like this You shall recite/learn what is revealed to you of your Lord's scripture. Nothing shall abrogate His words, and you shall not find any other source beside it. Then the journey begins and it will be ongoing. See where GOD takes you with it and GOD Alone will teach you what you can bare, benefit and need from it. If Qoran does not transform your life for the better,you are not understanding it. Peace, When we live in separation, believing that we are a multitude of beings, separated from the rest of creation, this is the guaranteed way to taste "emotional" hell. Often it is an obligatory passage to purify ourselves of what is not our true essence. Once this state is achieved; the uniqueness of our essence. That is exactly how I would define FREE MINDS. Our upbringing and "worldly knowledge" and traditions may contain all sorts of mixed bags of half truths and lots of falsehood,bias and nonsense,but if we insist on our ways we are not free or honest. We need to retune our intentions and pursue our inner instinct with honesty and a sincere way of acquiring knowledge tuned to GOD s message and info . Only with honest and clean intentions to pursue true "knowledge" will we develop a "change of attitude" to accept that we have to reject falsehood from our mind. I understand that you're rejecting the fact that the word "l-ṣalati" refers to the notion of prayer in general and therefore, the word "l-wus'ṭā" cannot be translated as "balanced/Non-extreme, moderate, most excellent...". Now, let's keep the notion of "midst". The question is "midst" of what? with the constraint of a minimum 3 prayers... The second one is in the middle of the first one and the third one, isn't it ? And the second one is in relation to which starting reference point (the one at dawn? and why not at dusk?). And the third one is in the middle of the second one and the fourth without necessarily 5 prayers but just 4, isn't it ? And the fourth is in the middle of the third one and the fifth, isn't it ? etc.. I would like to add something more how I perceive this phrase "ma meleket" along with "eymanukum". I see it as a Quranic slogan "don't slave - do care" ie. take your responsibility against slavery by not enslaving others but taking responsibility for each other. Take your social responsibility in your community, help the weak, take care of single people (children, men, women, older, younger) who need help and assistance, share with others if you are rich and have great resources and do not enslave others so that you get rich at the expense of others. mā meleket ey'mānukum; don't slave - do care

salam perhaps the answer to why the monkey ia not explicitly me tioned as forbidden lies in surah 5 verse 1 “o you who believe, honor your contracts. made lawful for you are the a’aam, except that which is being recited to you. You are not permitted to hunt the game while you are under restriction. The God decrees as He pleases” the monkey is perhaps not included in an’aam and so are forbidden by definition of not being an’aam (whether an’aam means livestock or not i dont know as i understand hunting is permissible so an’aam could mean other than livestock) in anycase the answer to why the why the money is mentioned explicitly to be forbidden is perhaps because they are not included in an’aam so by exclusion from not being an’aam and by definition of what an’aam could mean, the monkey is not permissible that is my understanding maybe i am wrong peace Salam tutti_frutti, The context of verse 51 is about hunting and not about what is forbidden to eat. Regarding what is forbidden to eat, it has been explained in for example 6145. Some translations are below Say “I do not find in what is inspired to me to be forbidden for any eater to eat, except that it be already dead, or running blood, or the meat of pig—for it is foul—or what has become vile by being sacrificed to other than God.” But whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression, then your Lord is Forgiving, Merciful. Say "In all that has been revealed unto me, I do not find anything forbidden to eat, if one wants to eat thereof, unless it be carrion, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine-for that, behold, is loathsome-or a sinful offering over which any name other than God's has been invoked. But if one is driven by necessity - neither coveting it nor exceeding his immediate need -then , behold, thy Sustainer is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace." Say, "I do not find within that which was revealed to me forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine - for indeed, it is impure - or it be disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah. The messenger has been commanded to say as per 6145 and the messenger did deliver the message, i.e. from revelation received, he cannot find anything forbidden to one who wants to eat it except what is in the list (A, B, C). Given the wordings delivered by the messenger, I don't see the receiver of the message should understand that outside the list there are still forbidden to eat. And regarding 51, my proposed translation is as below O you who believe, honor your contracts. Permissible for you are BAHIMATUL ANAM except that which is being recited to you without making permissible the hunting of game while you are under restriction. God decrees as He pleases. So, based on 51 In general BAHIMATUL ANAM are permissible for hunting There are some exceptions which is being recited (so if it falls under the exceptions being recited, then hunting is not permissible) Lastly, in any case if we are under restriction then hunting is not allowed. I have come across a observation regarding the term "azwājaka" in the beginning of the vers 3350 who translates as "your wives" but "azwājaka" is a a noun in accusative masculine plural form combined with personal Pronoun in singular form. Check this out on corpus quran website https//corpus.quran.com/wordbyword.jsp?chapter=33&verse=50 peace, use context; it's a masculine dominant language often him/his refers to aforementioned person etc. 412 ولكم and for you نصف half ما what ترك left ازوجكم azwājukum/spouses yours (pl.) ان if لم not ىكن beeth لهن lahunna/for them (feminine pl.) ولد offspring ... 3328 ىاىها O you النبى the prophet قل say لازوجك li-azwajika/to spouses your (sing.) ان if كنتن kuntunna/be you (feminine pl.) ... 3350 ىاىها O you النبى the prophet انا indeed we احللنا made lawful we of لك to you ازوجك azwājaka/spouses your (sing.) التى the ones اتىت gave thou اجورهن ujūrahunna/rewards theirs (feminine pl.)

I know I definitely didn't agree with the reformist translation when I looked at corpus. Though I appreciate their efforts greatly, at times they have overstepped in translation. They have forced meaning in places that are not there in order to avoid meanings that they feel is at odds with their genuine sense of good. 4127 is one of those verses.

Salam everyone, Here is are 2 translations of verse 4.17 I wonder if I understood well Sahih international The repentance accepted by Allah is only for those who do wrong in ignorance and then repent soon after. It is those to whom Allah will turn in forgiveness, and Allah is ever Knowing and Wise. Yusuf Ali Allah accept the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and repent soon afterwards; to them will Allah turn in mercy For Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom. The verse in arabic إِنَّمَا ٱلتَّوْبَةُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ لِلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٍ ثُمَّ يَتُوبُونَ مِن قَرِيبٍ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَتُوبُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا So the repentance is only accepted when someone commit a sin (by evil i wonder if it includes all sins) without knowing it is bad and repent soon after. So he have to repent immediatly after he realized he has done evil. But it can take more or less time for one to realize it, right ? I can see examples of people, who commit sins, know there are sins or ignore the warns of some believers. At the moment maybe they didn't realized the serouisness of their deeds or were somehow not "ready" . I wonder with the verse above if their deeds will be forgiven, if their repentance will be accepted. Seems like that no. But i could be wrong. I give a few example here to illustrate The man (or woman) who commits adultery and did it several times and knew that it was bad but only repented years laters. He committed it not to challenge God but because of weakness or wasn't able to stop himself ( or not willing to not do it at that time). The woman who had seen someone (a wizard ?) in order to make something to keep her husband, thinking that it was a good thing. I heard stories like this in Morrocco. What about her repentance ? To sump up There is no way to repent unless we do evil by ignorance, isn't it. So even one has been accorded by Allah a life of 70 years (for example) but did "evil" not by ignorance in his life and repented after, he won't be forgiven. example He committed sins from 20 to 50, repented at 50 and has 20 years left before he dies. I believed before I read this verse, that the sincere repentances were accepted if done before agonizing, when we are about to die or a few times before dying. But didn't thought that those you did sins thiking they can do all sins they want and just need to "hajj" or repented to be forgiven I means those who somehow "plays" or are premeditating or calculating. I just wonder if there is here (in this verse) a degree of seriousness to be take, the real attention of the people ( really bad or "just" negligent or carefree). I noticed in the translations that some translators added "carelessness" or " folishness" as if the word translated by "ignorance" encompasses those meanings. Can someone bring more details ? (by using verses and their knolewdge in arabic). May the God guide us. If I sin and then seek forgiveness in a genuine and sincere manner, then I think that means my punishment ends. If I intentionally rape a woman, and then seek forgiveness from God, then can it be the case that nothing bad happens to me? If my repentance is truly sincere, I think my punishment ends and nothing bad happens to me afterwards. But how do you sincerely seek forgiveness for raping a woman with intent? Is it not the case that you would voluntarily hand yourself over to the authorities or slave away to make amends to the woman you raped? So in this, is there suffering? If you are truly repentant during this process, I'm not sure you can truly suffer. The more truly repentant your are, the less you suffer I think. The less repentant you are (despite taking the steps towards repentance, such as handing yourself over to the authorities, or slaving away for the woman) the more you suffer in your goal for setting things right. If you persist in your attempt to set things right, it may be such that you become truly repentant such that you are no longer Hell worthy. Now contrast this with when you do something without fully intending or knowing that it is evil. I don't think any suffering would follow for you if you truly view your Lord as Perfect.
