Peace All. WHY THE PEOPLE OF MECCA WERE NOT PUNISHED? THE DISBELIEVER'S DECLARE, "THEY WILL NOT BELIEVE" And when there comes to them a sign (from Allah) they say "WE SHALL NOT BELIEVE until we receive the like of that which the Messengers of Allah had received." Allah knows best with whom to place His Message. Humiliation and disgrace from Allah and a severe torment will overtake the criminals (polytheists, sinners, etc.) for that which they used to plot. 6124 And they say " WE SHALL NOT BELIEVE in you (O Muhammad SAW), until you cause a spring to gush forth from the earth for us; 1790 The Unbelievers say "WE SHALL NEITHER BELIEVE in this scripture nor in (any) that (came) before it." Couldst thou but see when the wrong- doers will be made to stand before their Lord throwing back the word (of blame) on one another! Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones "Had it not been for you we should certainly have been believers!" 3431 ALLAH DECLARES, "THEY WILL NOT BELIEVE" Assuredly the word hath been justified against most of them, wherefore THEY SHALL NOT BELIEVE Verily We have placed on their necks shackles which are up to the chins; so that their heads are forced up. And We have put a barrier before them, and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up, so that they cannot see. It is the same to them whether you warn them or you warn them not, THEY WILL NOT BELIEVE. 367/8/9/10. Thus is the Word of thy Lord proved true against those who rebel verily THEY WILL NOT BELIEVE. 1033 Not a city before them which We destroyed believed; WILL THEY THEN BELIEVE? 216 THEY WILL NOT BELIEVE UNTIL THEY SEE THE PENALTY And if We had revealed it (this Qur'an) unto any of the non-Arabs, And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the Sinners. THEY WILL NOT BELIEVE IN IT UNTIL THEY SEE the grievous Penalty; 26198/99/200/201 (Allah has knowledge) of (Prophet Muhammad's) saying "O my Lord! Verily, these are a people who believe not!" But turn away from them and say "Peace!" but SOON THEY SHALL KNOW! 4388/89 "JUST A QUESTION... How do we know the people of Mecca / whichever city the prophet was from did not ask God for forgiveness thus delaying / forgoing His retribution?" There is no verse in the Quran, which says that the Meccans DID ASK for forgiveness of their sins and neither there is any verse, which says that they DID NOT ASK for forgiveness. But if we refer to history we find that the Meccans never ceased to attack the Muslims till the pact of Hudaibiya was signed and this is mentioned in Surah 48 and this verse was revealed precisely in the year 628 AD. (Six years after migration) The Meccans later broke the peace of treaty in the attack which one of their allied tribes (the Banu Bakr) made on the Muslim Banu Khuza'a (who were in alliance with the prophet), but this led to the conquest of Mecca and the sweeping away of the autocracy. It is clear that they never repented and neither prayed for their forgiveness but they were bent upon destroying Islam until they were invaded, attacked, and subjugated. DISBELIEVERS ATTEMPTS TO DRIVE OUT THE PROPHET And (remember) when the disbelievers plotted against you (O Muhammad SAW) to imprison you, or to kill you, or to GET YOU OUT (from your home, i.e. Makkah); they were plotting and Allah too was planning, and Allah is the Best of the planners. 830 And Verily, they were about to frighten you so much as to DRIVE YOU OUT FROM THE LAND. But in that case THEY WOULD NOT HAVE STAYED (therein) AFTER YOU, except for a LITTLE WHILE. (This was Our) SUNNAH (rule or way) with the Messengers We sent before you (O Muhammad SAW), and YOU WILL NOT FIND AMY ALTERATION IN OUR SUNNAH (rule or way, etc.). 1776/77 This was not the first time that the pagans tried to drive out the prophet from Mecca but they tried many times and finally they succeeded in their mission. The planning of the pagans was round the clock and thus the prophet was forced to leave Mecca and lead to TAIF and then to MADINA as a refugee THE WAYS (SUNNAH) OF ALLAH They swore their strongest oaths by Allah that if a warner came to them they would follow his guidance better than any (other) of the Peoples but when a warner came to them it has only increased their flight (from righteousness) On account of their arrogance in the land and their plotting of Evil. But the plotting of Evil will hem in only the authors thereof. Now are they but looking for the (SUNNAH) WAY OF THE ANCIENTS were dealt with? But no change wilt thou find in ALLAH'S WAY (SUNNAH) (of dealing) NO TURNING OFF WILL YOU FIND IN ALLAH'S WAY (SUNNAH) (of dealing). 3542/43 And nothing prevents men from believing, now when the guidance (the Qur'an) has come to them, and from asking Forgiveness of their Lord, except that the WAYS OF THE ANCIENTS be repeated with them (i.e. their DESTRUCTION decreed by Allah), or the TORMENT be brought to them face to face? 1855 THE NEWS OF DESTRUCTION WILL COME And never a sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, but that they have been turning away from it. Indeed, they belied the truth when it came to them, but WILL COME TO THEM THE NEWS of that (the torment) which they used to mock at. 64/5 THE TERM IS DETERMINED Hath it not served as guidance to them how many a generation We have destroyed before them, amidst whose dwellings they Walk! Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, and a TERM DETERMINED (their punishment) must necessarily have come (in this world). 20128/129 TORMENT WILL CERTAINLY COME AND SUDDENLY And they ask you to hasten on the torment (for them), and had it not been for a TERM APPOINTED, the TORMENT would CERTAINLY have come to them. And CERTAINLY, IT WILL COME UPON THEM SUDDENLY while they perceive not! 2953 GENERATIONS DESTROYED BEFORE FOR NOT BELIEVING IN MESSENGERS And indeed, We DESTROYED GENERATIONS before you, when they did wrong while their MESSENGERS came to them with clear proofs, but they were not such as to BELIEVE! Thus do We requite the people who are SINNERS. Then We appointed YOU as SUCCESSORS in the land AFTER THEM, that We might see how ye would work. 1013/14 Like the behaviour of the people of PHARAOH and those before them; THEY BELIED OUR SIGNS, so Allah seized (destroyed) them for their sins. And Allah is Severe in punishment. 311 Then THEY BELIED him (NOAH) there upon We delivered him and those with him in the ARK, and drowned those who BELIED Our signs; verily they were a people blind. 764 Then We delivered him (HUD) and those with him by a mercy from Us, and We utterly cut off those who BELIED Our signs, and would not be believers. 772 Those WHO BELIED SHUAIB became as though they had never dwelt therein; those who belied Shu'aib, it is they who became the losers. 792 And if they belie thee, then surely there have belied before them the people of Nuh and the 'Aad and the Thamud. And the people of Ibrahim and the people of Lut. And the Companions of the Madyan people and Moses was rejected (in the same way). But I granted respite to the Unbelievers and (only) after that did I PUNISH THEM but how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)! 2242/43/44 Before them there have BELIED the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. And Thamud and the People of Lut and the Companions of the Wood; such were the Confederates. Not one of them but BELIED the Messengers, therefore My TORMENT WAS JUSTIFIED, 3812/13/14 But (there were people) before them who BELIED (the Signs) the People of Noah and the confederates (of Evil) after them; and every People plotted against their prophet to seize him and disputed by means of vanities therewith to condemn the truth; BUT IT WAS I THAT SEIZED THEM! And how (terrible) was My Requital! 405 And before them the people of Nuh BELIED, and so did the dwellers Of Rass and the Thamud. And the A-ad, and Fir'awn. and the brethren of Lut. The companions of the Wood and the people of Tubba; each one (of them) BELIED the apostles and MY WARNING WAS DULY FULFILLED (in them). 5012/13/14 Those before them BELIED, and so the TORMENT CAME ON THEM from directions they perceived not. 3925 SUMMARY The Meccans declare they will not BELIEVE Allah declares the Meccans will not BELIEVE Allah declares the Meccans will not BELIEVE (Quran) until they SEE the PENALTY And SOON they shall KNOW The Meccans disbelieve and DRIVE OUT THE PROPHET The SUNNAH of Allah If they drive out the prophet, then they will STAY ONLY A LITTLE The SUNNAH never CHANGES No TURNING off from the SUNNAH The news of TORMENT is NEAR The term is DETERMINED The TORMENT will come CERTAINLY and SUDDENLY Generations DESTROYED before, for the SAME SIN as of Meccans In the light of the above verses the SUNNAH OF DESTRUCTION was applicable to MECCA for they disbelieved in everything and drove out the prophet from his home. Then why Allah did not DESTROY the Meccans? Because the prophet never migrated from MECCA but from MADYAN (JORDAN) We did reveal to Moses the Book after We had destroyed the earlier generations (to give) Insight to men and Guidance and Mercy that they might receive admonition. YOU WERE NOT on the WESTERN SIDE when We DECREED THE COMMISSION TO MOSES nor WERE YOU WITNESS (of those events). But We RAISED up (new) generations and long were the ages that PASSED OVER THEM; but YOU WERE NOT A DWELLER among the PEOPLE OF MADYAN RECITING OUR SIGNS TO THEM but it is We Who send apostles (with inspiration). Nor WERE YOU AT THE SIDE OF (the Mountain of) TUR when We called (to Moses) But (art thou sent) as a Mercy from thy Lord to give warning to a people to whom no warner had come before thee in order that THEY MAY receive admonition. And lest, if an affliction had afflicted THEM for that which THEIR hands had sent before, THEY should have said our Lord! wherefore sent not Thou an apostle unto US that WE might have followed Thy revelations and been of the believers! But when the truth is come unto THEM from before Us, THEY say wherefore hast he not been vouchsafed the like of that which was given unto Musa? DISBELIEVED THEY NOT IN THAT WHICH WAS GIVEN UNTO MUSA AFORETIME? They say; TWO MAGICS supporting each other. And they say verily in all such things we are disbelievers. Say "Then bring ye a Book from Allah which is a better Guide than either of them that I may follow it! (Do) if ye are truthful!" 2843/44/45/46/47/48/49 PONDER ON THE ABOVE VERSES, WHICH ARE REVEALED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE PEOPLE OF MADYAN, THE CITY OF SHUAIB DESTROYED BY ALLAH AND NEW GENERATIONS WERE RAISED. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO DISBELIEVED IN TORAH AFORETIME. WHO CAME TO THE FORE FATHERS OF THE PEOPLE OF MECCAH WITH THE TORAH SO THAT THEY DISBELIEVED IN IT? SUPPLEMENTARY VERSES IN SUPPORT OF THE ABOVE VERSES And indeed We have DESTROYED what is AROUND YOU of the towns and We DISPLAYED the SIGNS that they might return 4627 And 'Ad and Thamud (people)! And INDEED (their destruction) is clearly APPARENT TO YOU from their (ruined) DWELLINGS. Satan made their deeds seem fair unto them and so debarred them from the Way, though they were keen observers. 2938 Generations before YOU We DESTROYED when they did wrong their Apostles came to them with Clear Signs but they would not believe! Thus do We requite those who sin! Then WE MADE YOU (KHALAA'IF) successors in the land AFTER THEM to see how ye would behave! 1013/14 IS it not GUIDANCE to THOSE who INHERIT the land AFTER its PEOPLE, that had We willed, We would have PUNISHED them for their sins. But We seal up their hearts so that they hear not? 7100 (A- FA- LAM YAHDI LA- -HUM) Is it not GUIDANCE for THEM how many generations We have DESTROYED before THEM, in WHOSE DWELLINGS THEY WALK? Certainly, in this are signs for men who have intelligence. 20128 ('A- WA- LAM YAHDI LA- -HUM) Is it not GUIDANCE for THEM, how many generations We have DESTROYED before THEM in WHOSE DWELLINGS THEY WALK? Certainly, therein indeed are signs. Would they not then listen? '(A- WA- LAM YARAW) Have they not seen how We drive water (rain clouds) to the dry land without any vegetation, and therewith bring forth crops providing food for their cattle and themselves? Will they not then see? 3226/27 And warn (O Muhammad SAW) mankind of the Day when the torment will come unto them; then the wrong-doers will say "Our Lord! Respite us for a little while, we will answer Your Call and follow the Messengers!" (It will be said) "Had you not sworn afore time that you would suffer no decline "And YOU DWELL IN THE DWELLINGS OF MEN who WRONGED THEMSELVES, and SHOWN TO YOU clearly how WE HAD DEALT WITH THEM. And We put forth (many) parables for you." 1444/45 THEN SEE how was the end of their plot! Verily! We destroyed them and their nation, all together. THESE ARE THEIR HOUSES in UTTER RUIN, for they did WRONG. Verily IN THIS is indeed an Ayah (a lesson or a sign) for people who know. 2752 So also was Lut among those sent (by us). Behold We delivered him and his adherents all Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind Then We destroyed the rest. And truly ye CERTAINLY PASS BY (the ruin of) THEM in the MORNING and at NIGHT will you not understand? 37133/134/135/136/137138 And INDEED THEY have PASSED BY THE TOWN on which was rained the evil rain. DID THEY (disbelievers) NOT THEN SEE IT (with their own eyes)? Nay! But they used not to expect for any resurrection. and when THEY see you (O Muhammad SAW), they treat you only as a mockery (saying)"Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a Messenger? 2540 THE UNTRODDEN LAND OF (MECCA) And He caused you to INHERIT THEIR LANDS, and their HOUSES, and their RICHES, and a LAND, which YOU had NOT TRODDEN it. And Allah is Able to do all things. 3327 Thanks

Peace all, THe following quote is from this thread Jesus, Virgin Births, Miracles, Symbolisms, cont... Peace be upon you, (345) When those controlled (malaika) said "You Mary, truly The God announces good news to you, with a word/expression from Him, his name (is) the Messiah Jesus Mary's son, noble in the present world and the end (other life), and from the neared/closer." (4171) You The Book's people, do not exaggerate/exceed the limit in your system, and do not say on (about) The God except the truth , but the Messiah, Jesus, Mary's son (is) God's messenger and His word/expression He threw it away to Mary, and an energy (ruh) from Him; so believe with The God, and His messengers, and do not say "Three." Stop (it is) best for you, but The God (is) one God, His praise/glory that to be for him a child; for Him what (is) in the skies/space and what (is) in the earth/Planet Earth, enough/sufficient with The God (as a) guardian/protector . So why are we debating literal meanings for Jesus, when He is called the WORD of the God? I think the verses above are misunderstood FM 345. And the Angels said ?O Mary, God gives ?you? good news of a word (kalimatin) from Him whose name (ismuhu) is the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary. Honourable in this world and in the Hereafter, and from among those who are made close.? Ith qalati almala-ikatu ya maryamu inna Allaha yubashshiruki bikalimatin (word) minhu ismuhu (whose name) almaseehu AAeesa ibnu maryama wajeehanfee alddunya waal-akhirati waminaalmuqarrabeena Ahmad Shabir 345 Angels said, ?O? Mary! Allah gives you the good news through a word from Him. His name would be Christ Jesus, son of Mary, held in honor in this world and among the ones close to Me in the Hereafter.? I found shabir?s translation more adequate. ?Kalima? is a mode 'muannath' in Arabic (feminin) ?ismuhu? which is translated by ?whose name? is not the name of ?kalima?, because we should read ?ismuha? Example ismuhu = His (hu) name is Zachariah / John?.(masculin) ismuha = Her (ha) name is maryam / Fatima?( feminin) I consider the following as the content of the news announced to Mary ?ismuhu (his name) almaseehu AAeesa ibnu maryama wajeehanfee alddunya waal-akhirati waminaalmuqarrabeena? His name (ismuhu) is the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary. Honourable in this world and in the Hereafter, and from among those who are made close Ahmad Shabir 4171 O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion. Say nothing about God except the truth. The Messiah Jesus son of Mary was a Messenger of Allah, the fulfillment of His Word to Mary, created according to the Laws of Creation and given free will from the Divine Energy (like all human beings (1529), (327-9), (3872)). Believe in Allah and His Messengers, and say not ?Three". Cease! It is for your own good. God is but One God. Far removed it is from His Supreme Majesty that He should have a son. Everything in the Highs and everything in the Lows belongs to Him. He is the Self-Sufficient Sustainer of the Universe (2255). In 4171 "wakalimatuhu" doesn't mean Jesus is the word of Allah but the word (kalimatu) of Allah (hu) He (Allah) delivered (alqa) it(ha) to Mary in 345, in other word, 'kalimatuhu' is the content of the good news announced to Mary in 345. We could translate "alqaha" as "He fulfilled it" If "wakalimatuhu" refers to Jesus, we shoul read "alqahu" (masculin)instead of "alqaha"(feminin). This is the same logic for the verse 345, if "ismuhu" refers to "kalimatin" (feminin) , we shoul read "ismuha" (feminin) instead of "ismuhu"(masculin), in the same way for the verse 4171 "kalimatun" (feminin)--->alqaha(feminin) O people of the Scripture, do not overstep in your system, nor say about God except the truth. Jesus the son of Mary was no more than God?s messenger and His word (wakalimatuhu) He delivered it to Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and do not Say ?Trinity.? Cease, for it is better for you. God is only One god, be He glorified that He should have a son! To Him is all that is in the heavens and what is in the Earth. God is enough as a caretaker. Ya ahla alkitabi lataghloo fee deenikum wala taqooloo AAala Allahiilla alhaqqa innama almaseehu AAeesaibnu maryama rasoolu Allahi wakalimatuhu (His word) alqaha ila maryama waroohun minhu faaminoo biAllahiwarusulihi wala taqooloo thalathatun intahookhayran lakum innama Allahu ilahun wahidunsubhanahu an yakoona lahu waladun lahu ma fee alssamawatiwama fee al-ardi wakafa biAllahiwakeelan Allah knows the best Marie

I was looking at the book 'the Naturaul Republic' by ProgressiveMuslims.org and was reading the review and came across the usual shocked Muslim, the things he attributed to your book came across to me as logical but one stood out he stated 'They say that ... pork products made from any part of the pig except the flesh/blood can be consumed! ' So I thought that this person must have mis-read the book somehow, there musn't really be any truth to that. The other day I was talking to my brothers girlfriend over the phone and the conversation somehow veered to pork, my brother's steadily opposed to having thier future children eating pork, then I remmbered what I read and told her that the whole pig in actuality wasn't forbidden, but i am not positive and will get back to her with more information on this later on. Today I looked at 53 and scrutinously read it, i noticed that it did not say the pig is forbidden, rather is stated the flesh was. The translation i own is Yusuf Ali's so i checked out other translations on line and sure enough Pikthal and SHakir did the same thing to. But however, Rashid Khalifa translates it as pigs meat. I am wondering what the exact arabic word is that is used in this verse and all of its possible meanings. I looked at your translation and it states 'the blood, and the meat of (the) pig' is forbidden, i am also wondering then if the meat would be the whole pig or not, does that mean there are parts i can eat? I searched the internet as well for articles on pork and the same command is repeated in 2173, 53, 6145 and 16115. Any light on the topic would largely be appreciated, thank you for your time and patience. pz

Peace be upon you, After reading Chapter ?Joseph? of the Koran, I came to the following conclusion (based completely on what the Koran told us; no implied or assumed guesses being made here) about him. I request any/all of you to tell me what you think and correct what I?ve included below, if it seems incorrect. First, let me start of by saying that at the very beginning of Chapter ?Joseph? God tell us We narrate to you the most accurate history through the revelation of this Quran. Before this, you were totally unaware. In chapter ?Joseph? (12), God tells us nowhere that Joseph was given a scripture like Moses, Jesus, David or Muhammad. Neither do we have any instances were we see Joseph fighting the pagan Egyptian kings/queens or people by asking them to convert to the path of God alone by leaving their paganism like Moses, Solomon, Lot, Shuaib, Jesus or Abraham did. There is only instance where we see Joseph preach monotheism (to the prison inmates). Other than this Joseph seems like an ?average Joe? who is fighting to remain righteous in this world and trying hard to make a living by working as the treasurer for the king. In fact, Joseph himself says this They said, "You must be Joseph." He said, "I am Joseph, and here is my brother. GOD has blessed us. That is because if one leads a righteous life, and steadfastly perseveres, GOD never fails to reward the righteous." Thus, according to Joseph himself, he was blessed because he simply lead a righteous life and was patient. So, what exactly did Joseph do for God? What do you think? Thank you, *

Peace be upon you, Other than the part I underlined in the verse below, I have no idea as to what message God is trying to convey in verse 2461. Could any of you offer any comments? The blind is not to be blamed, the crippled is not to be blamed, nor is the handicapped to be blamed, just as you are not to be blamed for eating at your homes, or the homes of your fathers, or the homes of your mothers, or the homes of your brothers, or the homes of your sisters, or the homes of your fathers' brothers, or the homes of your fathers' sisters, or the homes of your mothers' brothers, or the homes of your mothers' sisters, or the homes that belong to you and you possess their keys, or the homes of your friends. You commit nothing wrong by eating together or as individuals. When you enter any home, you shall greet each other a greeting from GOD that is blessed and good. GOD thus explains the revelations for you, that you may understand. My questions 1.) For what (crime?) is the blind, the crippled and the handicapped not be blamed? 2.) Why would anyone be blamed for eating anywhere (including the cateogries not mentioned above)? 3.) Why would anyone commit any wrong by eating as individuals/group (I mean, what's the need to mention that)? Thank you, *

peace to all, I was reading through tolue-islam and I read an article where Parwez I believe claimed that contrary to the survival of the fittest the Qu'ran supported the idea of survival of what is most beneficial to mankind, I didn't quite understand or know where he got the idea the Qu'ran supported this idea until I came across 1317 in my daily reading He sent down water from the sky, so valleys flowed according to their capacity, and the flood produces foam. And from what they burn to smelt jewellery or goods is produced a similar foam. It is in such a manor that God strikes the falsehood with the truth. As for the foam, it passes away, and as for what benefits mankind, it remains in the earth. It is such that God cites the examples. (Qu'ran 1317) what are your thoughts on this topic? does survival of what is beneficial to mankind make sense? I'm not quite sure I understand it but I find it very interesting peace

Peace All, Free-Minds translation I posted something like this a few days ago but didn't get to a conclusion, despite some good help. And whoever follows other than surrender as a system, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he is of the losers. How can God guide a people who have rejected after believing, and they witnessed that the messenger is true, and the clarity had come to them? God does not guide the wicked people. To these the punishment will be that God?s curse will be upon them as well as that of the Angels and the people all together! Eternally they will abide in it, the retribution will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved. 89 Except those who repent after this and make amends, then God is Forgiver, Merciful. 90 Those who have rejected after their belief then increased in rejection, their repentance will not be accepted, they are the strayers. RK translation Why should GOD guide people who disbelieved after believing, and after witnessing that the messenger is truth, and after solid proofs have been given to them? GOD does not guide the wicked. These have incurred condemnation by GOD, and the angels, and all the people. Eternally they abide therein; the retribution is never commuted for them, nor will they be reprieved. Exempted are those who repent thereafter, and reform. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. Those who disbelieve after believing, then plunge deeper into disbelief, their repentance will not be accepted from them; they are the real strayers. Those who disbelieve and die as disbelievers, an earthful of gold will not be accepted from any of them, even if such a ransom were possible. They have incurred painful retribution; they will have no helpers. now, 38.074 Saving Iblis; he was scornful and became one of the disbelievers. transliteration- 'Ill 'Iblsa Astakbara Wa Kna Mina Al-Kfirna The question is, is a simple bad act/s 'disbelieving' or 'rejecting', leave you open to the threat of 390? I only edited twice! D

Peace to all, Seems that many groups are waiting for a return of Jesus Christ, some say alone some say with Al-Mahdi .. etc. Are the verses in the Quran clear on that issue? Also .. the Quran seems to mention Jesus was "tawafa" which is known to refer to natural death (not murdered or killed .. those are "qotela") .. so did he die after the crucifixion but was in a coma while on the cross .. or Was he "towofeya" while on the corss but was not due to the crucifixion itself, instead God took his soul ? I am so far more convinced with the fact that he died after the crucifixion, he was in a coma during the crucifixion process, he was taken down alive (as per the Ahmad Deedat analysis on that issue) and that could explain why he spoke to the disciples after the crucifixion .. however .. I am very skeptical of the "second coming of Christ" deal be it with Muslims or Christians etc .. I tend to think that it is over .. no more Jesus coming back etc .. any thoughts on this?

    O
Peace to all, There are several points I would like to make, some may not be original since many of you may have come to the same conclusions but no harm in trying The distinct usage of plural or singular in the Quran when refering to actions .. examples "We breathed..." Verse (2191) with regards to the creation of Jesus in contrast with "I breathed..." (1529) with regards to the creation of Adam. -- "We" is always used when the action is done involving angels .. while "I" had no such thing. The verse (3041) - The "traditional" translation goes as follows 3041 Mischief has appeared on land and sea because of (the meed) that the hands of men have earned, that ((Allah)) may give them a taste of some of their deeds in order that they may turn back (from Evil). The word FASAD is translated mischief .. however when I read this verse it comes very strongly to me that the verse is a "prophecy" of sorts about POLLUTION and the worsening environement .... and the reason I think of that is the reference that it is in both LAND and WATER .. I am not sure if there were known cases of piracy at that time for people to know that mischief can be on land as well as water .. or perhaps sea battles .. but everytime I look at it it all adds up together to mean POLLUTION especially when the reason is given "BEMA KASABAT AYDEE AL-NAS" roughly meaning by what the people earn (as in profit and "labor") althpough it also can mean what they have done in general. What do you think on that one, would it be a warning against bad environmental policies that cause pollution? I sure hope so it is not an irrelevant issue and I am sure God would mention something about such thing in the Quran .. as in FASAD meaning pollution! Also the chapter Al-Rum (Romans) seems to have "prophecies of sort" in addition the first half of it tends to focus on the signs in nature earth water etc etc Regarding the verse (665) which is addressed in the Reformist Quran Translation http//www.yuksel.org/e/books/rtq.htm I somehow see that the verse can be translated as follows If he divorces you, his Lord will substitute other wives in your place who are better than you; submitters, believers, devoted, repentant, worshipful, active in their societies, virgins AND previously married. (665) I read the argument for saying "thayebaat wa abkara" to mean connected, and progressive .. but let me say this The verse is speaking to "several" women not one .. it spoke to the "wives" of the prophet .. so the replacements the verse warned will ALL have the first portion of being submitters, believers, devoted, repentant, worshipful, active in their societies (which in the arabic verse did not have the 'WAW' letter (AND) between all of them and ends with two adjectives thayebat wa abkara .. the verse can be seen to mean virgins and previously married WHO all share the previous adjectives .. since the wives of the prophet were plural the replacmenets would be plural and would be of both virgin AND previously married status .. Moreover, if we look at the previous verse it said "tatooba" which is addressing "two" of the prophets wives (one I think was supposed to be Aisha but not sure whom was a virgin when the prophet married her and the other was a thayeb previously married) the verse was about one wife telling another a secret .. if it were speaking to more than two I think thje verb would be "tatubn" .. however I wonder if God meant he would replace both of them (one virgin and one previously married) with two others of the same on that but with better "faith" ? Also, this does not require the "OR" mistake at all in fact the AND may in a subtle way be an assertion from God that a virgin is not better than a previously married woman in status (as found in some cultures) Although we agree that both wrods abkaran and thayebaat do have several meanings I see that the verse would be valid if we take the traditional meanings .. it would for one assert that women are not to be treated differently as per virgin or not .. and for the argument that SUCH a use would validate the allowance to marry more than one virgin it would not apply since the verse is speaking about the prophet and his wives and such allowance would only be for the prophet (since he too married more than 4 wives and the limit of 4 was not applied to him too) So the verse would be more like this If he divorces you, his Lord will substitute other wives in your place who are better than you; submitters, believers, devoted, repentant, worshipful, active in their societies, BOTH previously married and virgins. perhaps we need to look at the grammar of arabic with regards to stating several adjectives in succession without WAW (and) and then the last two would have a WAW (and) and see if it fits that the last the successive adjectives would apply equally to each of the last two .. I hope I am not confusing you all with this .. it is like in math distributive property saying ====> A.B.C.(D+E) especially that in arabic is unlike English in that the AND before the last enumeration is not used .. so it should not be translated to mean A, B, C, D, and E .. instead A.B.C.(D and E) I think I may have more observations while reading the Quran .. I will post more when I collect them Peace.

Salaams all, A critical thing i came accross might help some people. The usual routine for analysing quran is to see the meaning of a word or group of words to see how its used in variouse places in the quran. But only flaw with this method is if there exists a mistranslation in one place its obviouse it may also be present in other places in the quran - according to the picture in the mind of the translator and whether he is of cristian ,jewish or of some other background. It may be better to use prestigouse dictionaries and according to the context of the verse/s the right words could be selected - a number of opinions would we entailled for this. 538 Aidh = Support/strength/might/authority. According to lanes and the Quranic dictionary. But traditionalist usually translate Aidh as Hand. I can't see how they got that translation. So intead of cutting of support /authority of the thief they introduced the cutting of a thiefshand. Simelrlarly 533 Usually its translated as ........cut off their hands and their feet from opposite....... according to lanes its .......cut off their support and their misfortune from opposite........ Its worth using the dictionary rather then the traditional trnslations as some people are allways using i think -sometimes anyways.

Peace all, This thread is in response to some posts regarding the usage of the word dabbatin as is commonly equated to beasts in the quran...can it be creatures? Are all 'beasts' sentient? Do all 'beasts' know/understand God?Are there 'dumb' beasts unaware of God? Some verses that may make this clearer 2164 Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which Allah Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they Trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise. 822 For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are the deaf and the dumb,- those who understand not. 855 For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are those who reject Him They will not believe. 2218 Seest thou not that to Allah bow down in worship all things that are in the heavens and on earth,- the sun, the moon, the stars; the hills, the trees, the animals; and a great number among mankind? But a great number are (also) such as are fit for Punishment and such as Allah shall disgrace,- None can raise to honour for Allah carries out all that He wills. 3110 He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. 3528 And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle, are they of various colours. Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants, who have knowledge for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving. 4229 And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the living creatures that He has scattered through them and He has power to gather them together when He wills. 4504 And in the creation of yourselves and the fact that animals are scattered (through the earth), are Signs for those of assured Faith. Now for where we can think that they are sentient and/or in the sense that they understand the concept of God 2179 To Solomon We inspired the (right) understanding of the matter to each (of them) We gave Judgment and Knowledge; it was Our power that made the hills and the birds celebrate Our praises, with David it was We Who did (all these things). 2441 Seest thou not that it is Allah Whose praises all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise. And Allah knows well all that they do. 2716 And Solomon was David's heir. He said "O ye people! We have been taught the speech of birds, and on us has been bestowed (a little) of all things this is indeed Grace manifest (from Allah.)" 2717 And before Solomon were marshalled his hosts,- of Jinns and men and birds, and they were all kept in order and ranks. 3410 We bestowed Grace aforetime on David from ourselves "O ye Mountains! Sing ye back the Praises of Allah with him! and ye birds (also)! And We made the iron soft for him;- 3819 And the birds gathered (in assemblies) all with him did turn (to Allah). 2724 (The bird says"I found her and her people worshipping the sun besides Allah Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes, and has kept them away from the Path,- so they receive no guidance,- 2718 At length, when they came to a (lowly) valley of ants, one of the ants said "O ye ants, get into your habitations, lest Solomon and his hosts crush you (under foot) without knowing it." 638 There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end.

Peace All 385 And whoever follows other than surrender as a system, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he is of the losers. 386 How can God guide a people who have rejected after believing, and they witnessed that the messenger is true, and the clarity had come to them? God does not guide the wicked people. 387 To these the punishment will be that God?s curse will be upon them as well as that of the Angels and the people all together! 388 Eternally they will abide in it, the retribution will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved. 389 Except those who repent after this and make amends, then God is Forgiver, Merciful. 390 Those who have rejected after their belief then increased in rejection, their repentance will not be accepted, they are the strayers. I was under the impression anything could be forgiven in this life, or have I gotten the wrong idea of rejection? Any imput would be appreciated )

Peace I fully agree on what is halal and what is haraam. As god said in his revelations 6145 Say, "I do not find in the revelations given to me any food that is prohibited for any eater except (1) carrion, (2) running blood, (3) the meat* of pigs, for it is contaminated, and (4) the meat of animals blasphemously dedicated to other than GOD." If one is forced (to eat these), without being deliberate or malicious, then your Lord is Forgiver, Most Merciful. Ofcourse, provided we take Gods name, whenever, whereever and whatever we consume. 6146 For those who are Jewish we prohibited animals with undivided hoofs; and of the cattle and sheep we prohibited the fat, except that which is carried on their backs, or in the viscera, or mixed with bones. That was a retribution for their transgressions, and we are truthful. 6147 If they disbelieve you, then say, "Your Lord possesses infinite mercy, but His retribution is unavoidable for the guilty people." However, while arguing with my father wink I was told that god strictly told to mention his name while sacrificing animal in Surah Al Anam i.e. Live Stock and below verse also confirms it. 6138 - Dr. Rashad Khalifa They said, "These are livestock and crops that are prohibited; no one shall eat them except whomever we permit," so they claimed. They also prohibited the riding of certain livestock. Even the livestock they ate, they never pronounced GOD's name as they sacrificed them. Such are innovations attributed to Him. He will surely requite them for their innovations. 6138 - Yusuf Ali And they say that such and such cattle and crops are taboo, and none should eat of them except those whom - so they say - We wish; further, there are cattle forbidden to yoke or burden, and cattle on which, (at slaughter), the name of God is not pronounced; - inventions against God's name soon will He requite them for their inventions. 6138 - Progressive Muslims And they said ?These are livestock and crops that are restricted, and none shall eat from them except as we please,? by their claims; and livestock whose backs are forbidden, and livestock over which they do not mention God?s name as invention against Him. He will recompense them for what they invented. Waqaloo hathihi anAAamun waharthun hijrun la yatAAamuha illa man nashao bizaAAmihim waanAAamun hurrimat thuhooruha waanAAamun la yathkuroona isma Allahi AAalayha iftiraan AAalayhi sayajzeehim bima kanoo yaftaroona Only the translation of Progressive muslims, does not show that gods name has to be mentioned and that such is thing is an invention. So all other translations are wrong except progressive muslims. As per PM those who say to pronouce gods name while sacrificing will be retributed or vice versa. We need to include this verse in the article of Halal/Haram with due explanation. God Bless All.

hi again; i think that douhl carnain is cyrus the great. for hadithlovers, alexender the great is an islamic prophete. it was a cruel, polytheiste man. so, for me ,there is a probleme..... then i heard the theory of cyrus the great. it was a zoroastrian (monostheist) king, who liberated the jews in babylon. look at isaha 45 in the bible, so no doubt, cyrus is douhl carnain. now, there is another point in the coran there is " the lord of sirius..." sirius seems to be a constellation, but couldn't be " God,the lord of CYRUS" in persian, cyrus and cyrius have the same meanings. what do you think about it??? salutation

hi everybody, i just have one question.... in the coran, we have the expression "people of tobbah". i ask a hadithlovers who told me that tobbah is a small old city in yemen. then i read the book of tobbey. it s the story of a jew called tobbey, who have some adventures... but it finished by the destruction of ninive ( the town of jonas). then, it is possible that tobbah is in fact tobbey.... what do you think of??? salutations

Peace, This is an honourable Quran. In a protected scripture. 5677-78 We have made it into an Arabic Quran, perhaps you may understand. And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, exalted, full of wisdom. 433-4 I've always wondered why God says the Quran is IN a book. ? Sara
