If we could read ahead to the ending of the story, we would all select the path that leads to a happy ending and avoid the one that leads to a sad ending. People who choose the wrong path do it not because of the author but because they are not reading the story correctly. The great reading is like a “cheat sheet” that tells us about the endings and helps us choose the path that leads to a happy ending and avoid the many paths that lead to a sad ending.

In my humble understanding these ayats are telling that after God's revelation, conjectures or superstitions have no room in a believer's life. Fortune tellers and star readers are just guessing and have no knowledge of future. Salam Layth, Salam. It would seem repetitive to take such meaning (zani or zani). I am not sure if I understand what you are trying to say. Please kindly elaborate. Also, why are you looking at this as a cosmic law - why can’t it be a civil law (adulterers are encouraged to marry others like them or polytheists - and are forbidden for the believers). I say this because Noah was married to an adulteress and Lot was married to a polytheist (they didn’t know). I don't think I am looking at this as a cosmic law in that good people will always end up marrying good people and so do bad people. This is because from Quran, I can see examples good people can end up marrying bad people like you already mentioned Noah and Lot, and also Firaun's wife if I may add. Sorry if my previous post gave that impression. Agree on it being civil law, i.e. zani and zaniyah are to be married to each other or to "mushrik" and not to be married to believers. Nothing is 100% translatable, and being a human language that can be learned, nothing is 100% untranslatable. And the percentage will depend a lot on the capacity to grasp and understand of the translator, jast as the capacity, just ans the understandability of any text depends on the capacity of the reader to understand and grasp. He gets the son he solicited. فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ Thereby, when he (son) had crossed over to the age of exerting effort, formally operational along with him; he (Iebra'heim alai'his'slaam) said — The other son was later granted unsolicited. Salaam All, i have been using quranix.org in my studies of the Quran and it is a great resource. I especially like how you can click on a word and it shows the root as well as the occurrences of that root everywhere in the Quran. What is missing is the definition of the root according to the Arabic lexicon. I have to manually go into PRL quran (studyquran.co.uk) and look up the root. But before to do it, i must state that i don't assimilate this ayat to surah Al-fatiha because of the presence of the preposition "Mina" (of = Provenance, origin) in (15874). Thus, the word sab'an (seven) must be taken in its Semitic well-known sense as "Multiple, several". As Mazhar pointed out, the form mśany (twice in the Koran - it returns to it later) carries the fundamental notion of Binarity (the place of the double). If it is sometimes translated by "the oft-repeated" but it is well understood that it is the doubling of something or act. It is necessary to approach a primordial aspect of the Koran The "binary" aspect of the Koranic speech. The "binary" opposition between what is positive and what is negative goes through the corpus systematically with many examples that are similar to express this central theme. Thus, the universe described by the Qur'an is a permanent binary universe. "Binary" is understood here in the sense of "that which comprises only two states, or two sets of elements" (it will be seen below that this definition can be extended). For example, this appears almost obvious from the beginning of the text in the canonical order from the sura al-Fatiya the text opposes those who are well-guided and misguided, and those who receive grace against those against which God is angry ...
