Proofs of these facts are available in what is called the ?Sayar-ul-Okul?. It is one among several volumes of ancient west Asian literature. The Turkish ruler Sultan Salim ordered an anthology to be compiled of ancient Arabic poetry from an earlier work in 1742 A.D. The pages of this volume are made of a kind of silk. According to Arab legend there was a plaque or dish that was hung in the Kaaba with an inscription on it about King Vikramaditya. On page 315 of the Sayar-ul-Okul volume which is in the treasured Makhtab-e-Sulania library in Istanbul Turkey and in the English language here is what the inscription says. ?Fortunate are those who were born (and lived) during King Vikram?s reign. He was a noble, generous dutiful ruler, devoted to the welfare of his subjects. But at that time we Arabs, oblivious of God, were lost in sensual pleasures. Plotting and torture were rampant. The darkness of ignorance had enveloped our country. Like the lamb struggling for her life in the cruel paws of a wolf, we Arabs were caught up in ignorance. The entire country was enveloped in darkness so intense as on a new moon night. But the present dawn and pleasant sunshine of education is the result of favor of the noble King Vikramaditya whose benevolent supervision did not lose sight of us-foreigners as we were. He spread his sacred religion amongst us and sent scholars whose brilliance shone like that of the sun from his country to ours. These scholars and preceptors through whose benevolence we were once again made cognizant of the presence of God, introduced to His sacred existence and put on the road of truth, had come to our country to preach their religion and impart education at King Vikramaditya?s behest? I have doubt on the authenticity of this.. due to the following The social identity of "Arabs" as we know today is as new as the social identity of "Indians". Now even egyptians, lebanese, palestinians and syrians are also being called as "Arabs". The labeling of Arab (from ancient semitic Arav which literally means desert) was being used mostly by the Israelites, Babylonians, Egyptians and Assyrians (today's it's being called as Syrians) for a group of other people 'who are living in the desert' which are unknown to them. They still refer to the desert people that they know and interact often with their respective names (e.g. Edomites, Nabateans, Midianites, Ishmaelites, Sarachens etc..) while the rest who are living in the deep desert they just call it as 'arabs' which means 'desert people'. Saying the 'arabs' identify themselves as 'arabs' 2100 years ago is as 'strange' as the 'europeans' identify themselves as 'europeans'. No europeans today identify themselves as europeans, they always identify themselves as British, french, spaniards, portuguese, italiano, polish, germans, irish, scottish etc.. As a side note; 2000 years ago; there was an 'arab' who rule over the 'Judean Kingdom' named Herod, yet no one ever call him Herod the Arabs but Herod the Edomites... Salam / Peace

Apparently even with a program in place that is supposed to help me correct my grammatic mistakes it is still much less then perfect. What I have already posted and what I will post in the future will be chapters out of a book I have written. As you read them I think you will find that I have done my home work. Peace, I am not too sure. However it cannot be referring to sperm. And I was thinking the most obvious thing between the back and ribs is the heart which is such a big thing in the quran. But clearly in quran when it says heart it refers to the entire nervous system as one entity. May god guide us

Salam, There are 2 possibilities on this topic/question Noah did indeed live for near a thousand years or more based on either the human body having a longer lifeline, or based on the technology and the medicine of that day being advanced enough to allow for slower aging (remeber, Noah was able to talk to his son while their were waves as big as mountains between them - not possible unless wireless devices were being used). The Quran referring to "1,000 years except 50 years" could be an indicaction that a calendar is being used that counts the years faster than our normal 365 days year. This is further supported when we note that the 1,000 years are called "sana" while the 50 is called "aam" - and while both mean "year", they are used differently in the Quran. Peace, and also 3 translate 1000 sunnah/way/path/multiple/time as 1000 years? Dose it make sense translating 3362 as year (earth spin around the sun) The God? 2914 and surely We sent Noah with his people so he stayed with them thousand way/path/multiple/time (i.e. warned them 1000 time) only (for) fifty Aama/years To live 1000 years gets old and tiring although some may desire to be granted 1000 lifetimes. 296 if is granted life thousand time/lifetimes

Salam, I read both passages, they simply indicate different conversations that Abraham had at different times. The first conversation (1941-49) you can see that Abraham has made-up his mind about what actions he will take and that he will leave his people - but first he tries to convince his father to revert to submission. The second conversation (2152-72) seems to have happened afterwards where Abraham goes out and confronts his people (note his father, although present, is quite during this exchange as he already knows Abraham's position - and it is the people who are answering/speaking). Regards, Salam. Yes, to me it's quite clear that his confrontation with his father in sura 19 happened before the confrontation with his whole people. So you tell me that in the exchange with his father, he tell him that he's ready to separate from them but didn't do it immediately after. Then his people want to burn him, and then he leave the town and have Isaac and Jacob?

Quite in accordance with the idea of paradise as a place of unending progress to higher stages of life is the idea of hell, where punishment is not meant for torture but for purification, in order to make a man fit for spiritual advancement... ..."And I have not created the jinn and the men except that they should serve Me" (5156). They must, therefore, ultimately be made fit for service of God, and that is the higher life. With all its fearfulness, hell is called a maula (patron) of the sinners, in one place (5715), and their umm (mother) in another (1019). Both these descriptions of hell are a clear indication that hell is meant only to purify a man of the dross which he has accumulated with his own hands, just as fire purifies gold of dross. In fact, it is to point to this truth that the Holy Qur'an uses the word fitnah (which originally means the assaying of gold, or casting it into fire to purify it of dross), both of the persecutions which the faithful are made to suffer (2191); 292; 2910) and of the punishment which the evildoers shall suffer in hell (3763), where the food which those in hell shall be given is called fitnah, because the object in both cases is the same, the faithful being purified through persecutions and the evildoers by hell-fire. Therefore hell is called a patron of the sinners, because, through suffering, it will make them fit for spiritual progress; and it is called a mother of the sinners to show that its connection with them is that of a mother with her child, the sinners being brought up, as it were, in the bosom of hell. The fire is a source of torment, but it is also a purifier. The keenness of the torment of the other life is due to the keener perception of the soul, which is the necessary result of its separation from the earthly vessel. Bliss and torment, therefore, grow keener in that life. Punishment of hell not everlasting. "He will say The Fire is your abode--you shall abide therein, except as Allah please. Surely thy Lord is Wise, Knowing." 6128 "Then as for those who are unhappy, they will be in the fire; for them therein will be sighing and groaning--abiding therein so long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as thy Lord please. Surely thy Lord is Doer of what He intends." 11106-7 Both there verses show clearly that the punishment of hell is not everlasting...

Muhsana is best translated as "independent" Sorry Layeth; the word "independant" signifying "not controlled by another", "able to function by self", "self supporting" etc does not have even remote relationship with the Arabic Root " and more so with the specific word .

First he says that Quran is a book made clear and than he says that things need to be explained. Thats a contradiction. If something is clear then it does not needs to be explained since its clear. Salam, Just to make clear, the 2 verses have been physically deleted from the latest printed copy of the book (the PDF you refer to is probably from the first edition when they were still there). I have a first edition with the "italics" and prefer it was done that way. Thank you Layth for letting me know that. I am still going to purchase it when I can. But at least I have the pdf file. Doesn't bother me too much since those two verses on their own didn't seem too significant and I can always look back at the pdf file or my other translation for those two verses.
