All people are not the same. Some people may have to exert themselves very very much for a single good deed or to abstain from a wrong one, while the same thing for another person may just come naturally. Objectively for those who live close to the first person, this person is not a good person, whereas the second would be a good person by all measures. How will al-lah judge? Justice would be that He would reward effort. But are there other things? God says whoever has done an atom good will see it whoever has done an atom evil will see it. Some translations says instead of judgement day day of reckoning. O accounts, where we see what everything is really worth may be? If so, wouldn't it be a moment of ultimate knowledge of ourselves? and tnerefore o what we must put right or wrong? or of burning our old self? I must admit here that I cannot believe in an "eternal" hell or paradise. I do not think we are able to comprehend what that means. Khalid or khlidun to me is a way of saying "rot in hell" like would say "rot in jail", and I think there is a similarity. Rot with oneself for company, that is with nothingness. We are nothing, ony God is. On the other hand time is dimension of material existence, a constraint like the three other dimensions... All this to say that we speculate when we try to fit God's creation, inluded paradise or hell, we cannot talk abut as if they were things we know, or what that khalidun means exactly. But the certainty of the just and the compassionate we have. Would punishing sobody for an eternity for something done over 60 or 30 or 90 years be just? We most humans who are not particularly loving, just or compassionate, would do that to anybody, how can we consider just to punish somebody forever or something done a very limited time? I cannot conceive therefore that putting somebody in hell forever agrees with what God reveals of Himself. I think we do not know because it is beyond our realm of conception or understanding. However, we know how to turn to truth whenever we understand reality. There is no God, but God, and it is our nature to submit and worship Him and that is the source and fountain of full bliss. There is no possibility that that realisation and deep acknowledgement will not free as from the shackles of deceit. Salaam

Dear Mazhar, do not act silly. You know it well, so do I, that, how imperative is formed, from a given root. In Arabic these are called . If you have learned this term yet, please look up Wright vol ii, pages 48D. Badar Dear, that is your basic problem. You read two three lines and build in your mind a presumptive theory and then start raising a hypothetical building over it. Find time to read all that to understand when a verb is called or becomes a verb of heart.

The things which can be consumed/eaten and drunk-things the bonds of which can be unknotted by the inbuilt system of human beings mostly comprises of two things; produce of Earth and meat. Broad and general principle laid down for permissible and non permissible is this http//www.haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/007.%20Al%20Airaaf/7.157b.gif And he, the Messenger declares for them permissible/lawful the things which are sanctified/decent and nutritious and declares non permissible/unlawful/restrained for them the things which are indecent and deficiently non-propitious; And Alcohal/made from the produce of Earth has certainly not been included in Tayebaat.

So what will this mean in practice? Ad Deen is the same from beginning to end. In between distortions were by the enemies of the Messengers of respective nations to popularize conjectural myths and innovations to deviate people from the Ad Deen. The Universal Messenger was sent in the end alongwith the Al-Huda which encompassed the Ad Deen in its totality to keep the Purest form of Ad Deen evident and visible till the last day for all those who wish and seek to be the Sincere Allegiants of Allah, notwithstanding the volumes of conjectural matter thrown/spread before them/world.

Dear all, the journey in search of truth continue, albeit at snails pace due being alone. However, there is a hope some may join in, to make a caravan. Badar Al-kauthar (Historically The Most Abundant Good.) Surah 108 1 Certainly, the information from us is plain and makes it easy to move forward in life. You should take it from us with both hands, just like plucking fruit from a height. Surah 108 2 This information is an aid to decide judicially between what is true and what is false, from your Sustainer, Maintainer, Fosterer and Accomplisher. So you shall become experts through it, based upon intellect and knowledge, as well as experience and wisdom. Surah 108 3 Surely be aware of those disgraced, dishonoured and rendering this repulsive. They are the ones who are cut off from Me entirely and utterly, remaining miserably short of being complete. very powerful tranlsation and makes a very profound message. It wiuld be nice to see linguistic based comments for the sake of learning. Pecae to all

Why is it that Allah clearly prohibits us from following scriptures aside from the Qur'an In what HADITH after ALLAH and HIS AYAT will they believe? In what HADITH after THIS will they believe? In what HADITH after THIS will they believe? Should We treat the ones who have surrendered the same as those who are criminals? What is wrong with you, how do you judge? Or do you have another book which you study? In it you find whatever you wish to find? They insist upon following conjecture, when THE GUIDANCE is GIVEN to them from their Lord. But tells us that whoever believes in the Quran, the christian scriptures, the jewish scriptures, leads a righteous life and believes in the last day will enter paradise ?? Thanks salam uZi & all, let us look at the transliteration and quote The Message Inna allatheena amanoo waallatheena hadoo waalnnasara waalssabi-eena man amana biAllahi waalyawmi al-akhiri waAAamila salihan falahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona 262 Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Nazarenes, and the Sabians, whoever of them believes in God and the Last Day and does good works; they will have their recompense with their Lord, and there is no fear upon them, nor will they grieve. Inna allatheena amanoo waallatheena hadoo waalssabi-oona waalnnasara man amana biAllahi waalyawmi al-akhiri waAAamila salihan fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona 569 Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Sabians, and the Nazarenes, whoever of them believes in God and the Last Day and does good works; then they will have nothing to fear nor will they grieve. i trust the key phrase is 'waAAamila salihan'. The Message considered it to be 'and does good works'. but what was understood by the others on this 'waAAamila salihan'? 262 Sahih International Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans - those who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. Muhsin Khan Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Pickthall Lo! Those who believe (in that which is revealed unto thee, Muhammad), and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabaeans - whoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right - surely their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. Yusuf Ali Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Shakir Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve. Dr. Ghali Surely (the ones) who have believed and the ones who have Judaized and the Nasara (Christians) and the Sabi'in, (Sabaeans) whoever have believed in Allah and the Last Day and done righteousness, then they will have their reward in the Providence of their Lord, and no fear will be on them, neither will they grieve. Tafsir al-Jalalayn Surely those who believe, before, in the prophets, and those of Jewry, the Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabaeans, a Christian or Jewish sect, whoever, from among them, believes in God and the Last Day, in the time of our Prophet, and performs righteous deeds, according to the Law given to him ? their wage, that is, the reward for their deeds, is with their Lord, and no fear shall befall them, neither shall they grieve (the person of the verbs mana, ?believes?, and ?amila, ?performs?, takes account of the form of man, ?whoever?, but in what comes afterwards its meaning ). 569 Sahih International Indeed, those who have believed and those who were Jews or Sabeans or Christians - those who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. Muhsin Khan Surely, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messenger Muhammad SAW and all that was revealed to him from Allah), those who are the Jews and the Sabians and the Christians, - whosoever believed in Allah and the Last Day, and worked righteousness, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Pickthall Lo! those who believe, and those who are Jews, and Sabaeans, and Christians - Whosoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right - there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. Yusuf Ali Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians and the Christians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness,- on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Shakir Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabians and the Christians whoever believes in Allah and the last day and does good-- they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve. Dr. Ghali Surely the ones who have believed and the ones who have Judaized, and the Sab???n, (Sabaeans) and the Nasara, (The Christians) whoever has believed in Allah and the Last Day and done righteousness, then no fear will be on them, nor will they grieve. Tafsir al-Jalalayn Surely those who believe and those of Jewry ( the subject of the clause), namely, the Jews, and the Sabaeans, a sect among them, and the Christians (and substitutes for the subject) whoever, of them, believes in God and the Last Day and behaves righteously ? no fear shall befall them, neither shall they grieve, in the Hereafter (this is the predicate of the subject and also indicates the predicate of inna, ?surely?). the people implied here are a. 'allatheena amanoo' / those people who believed b. 'waallatheena hadoo' / and those people who were jewish or became jews c. 'waalssabi-oona' or 'waalssabi-eena' / and the sabians d. 'waalnnasara' / and the nasara but the criteria is a. 'man amana biAllahi waalyawmi al-akhir' / whoever believed in God and the last day b. 'waAAamila salihan' / and did righteousness / worked righteousness / does righteousness but, what does 'waAAamila salihan' / and did righteousness / worked righteousness / does righteousness means? or we should actually view it to mean 'doing right' or 'doing the right things'? right here implies rights or righteousness according to God, rather than rights according to man (what the human mind can grasp). doing the right things here should mean doing what God has commanded, taught or advised to be the right things to do, while refraining from all that God has commanded, taught or advised to be the wrong things to do. what is the meaning of being 'allatheena amanoo' / those people who believed, if they do not do the right things? surely they will experience the opposite of 'fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoon' / there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. they will surely be in fear and be in grief if they did not do the right things. while for 'allatheena hadoo' / those people who were jewish or became jews and 'alssabi-oona' or 'waalssabi-eena' / the sabians or 'alnnasara' / the nasara, 'fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoon' / there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve, if they 'AAamila salihan' / did righteousness / worked righteousness / does righteousness or 'did right' or 'were doing the right things'. interestingly 'AAamila salihan' may also mean 'improved himself' or 'mend his ways' or 'reformed his ways' or 'reformed himself'. it is common knowledge that when one has erred one should mend his ways or reformed himself/his ways. so here it implies that everyone must improve his/her ways, irrespective whether one is a believer of God and the last day, or otherwise. on what and how to improve one's self/ways, one can learn from the qur'an. in fact that is the main objective of the qur'an, to provide the main/general guidelines for everyone to the right/correct way of passing through this period of life. for specifics, one has to communicate with God himself. peace mohammed noh

Grand Qur'aan is guidance and a fact for everyone, from those who were present while the Qur'aan comprised of just few verses, for those who were living alongwith the Messenger Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam, for those who survived in the period his wives were also living, and also for us who received Qur'aan after centuries of corporeal departure of the Messenger Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam and his wives . The protocol to be observed for the Messenger Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam is described in the Qur'aan and is still being read which shows nothing was deleted from Qur'aan whether it had some relvance or not for the later people, but it does convey the history, depicts the actual scenes of the life of that time.

Dear Mazhar, I should leave it, as it is. But since there are people reading this thread, for their sake. I am going to address this. With the hope that you might understand as well. Although, I already know that, this just will remain my wish. is a Musdari noun, formed at a Musdari Waazan of . It will become under Ajwaf/Naaqis verbs rules. When preceeding Harkaat is a fetha, Waw changes to Alif. If it is Dumma, it will remain as Waw. Like is the case in . In . Ta/ha is added as either female marker or sign of intensification. This is my last post in response to you, on this topic. Peace, Badar Having seen this I have reprimanded myself not to have noticed earlier that I am debating on grammer issues with a gentleman who is not willing even to study the nursery class lessons of Arabic, yet gives ruling of a PhD in Arabic grammer. Sorry dear Badar; please go through elementary Arabic grammer books. We will revert to subject after couple of weeks when you confirm that you have gone through that.

ALL contain errors. Personally, when I study AQ I find errors in translations on an almost daily basis. Some small, some big. If you adopt an intelligent approach with verification tools at www.StudyQuran.org it's not so bad. In terms of hardcopy, I mainly use Abdel Haleem, and Asad, free-minds. Thank you.

Salam Brother Badar.. islam is not a religion.. Just like honest is not a religion.. islam is an 'attitude' which when being continuously practiced it shall became one's 'character' just like honest is an 'attitude' which when being continuously practiced it shall became one's 'character' those who had an islam character are being called muslim. muslim people can be found in any religions / sects / cultural groups. There are sunni muslim, christian muslim, jewish/judaism muslim, secular muslim, buddhist muslim, taoist muslim etc... the quran tells stories of many muslims who are being born with different religion / cultural context. Jesus who are jewish / judaism muslim. Abraham who are mesopotamianism muslim. Muhammad who are arabism muslim. Moses who are egyptianism muslim. Isaac who are kanaanism muslim. And many others muslims with different religion / cultural context who are not being explicitly named. They all have their rewards from their Lord, and they shall not grieve.. "Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians -- whoever believes in God and the Last Day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord. And there will be no fear for them, nor shall they grieve" (262) Salam / Peace

For the whole day you kept insisting that Lane did not mention this Root. Finally I gave you the page number earlier telling that he has not mentioned Quraish, having been mentally exhausted as is evident from his just scratching about Roots he earlier omitted. You thought he had before him all the Lexicons as claimed in his preamble. I gave you the quote from Lexicons. Did you check that. It is matter of common sense, which you call ABC of Arabic that in Possessive Phrase only NOUNS are used. And in your own translation Quraish has been treated as Noun and defined as "associated with those who investigate". So you do treat them a "group of people". And that "group of people"/tribe/community is mentioned and specified by a singular Noun Qraish. Peace, I do want to acknowledge my mistake in saying that root does not exsist in Lane, instead of saying that word ,does not exsist under the root. However, this does not change the fact that word is missing from the most authentic lexicon translated from most authentic and original ancient Arabic original lexicons. That was the original question posted. "Had ever a tribe named Quriash exsisted?" Peace, Badar

yes thank you, that was the one I was looking for, specifically teach you things you did not know before. Is this referring to the Qu'ran? When I read it a couple of times it sounds like it is probably referring to the Qu'ran, as it is talking directly to the prophet pbuh's initial audience. From my understanding hikma/wisdom is the wisdom to apply the Qu'ran's teachings to situations, like how a judge applies his knowledge of the law to situations. I use the other verse which says to judge with the Qu'ran to solidify this understanding. My pleasure. Wisdom can be applied to many situations. You can see from cross-referencing that sometimes the word is not even used in the same line with the Quran. Sometimes it is talking about Jesus, the "descendants of Abraham" etc. having been given the "hikma". wal-ik'mata (&#1614 noun (9) accusative feminine noun ( &#1576 (ChapterVerseWord) (212911) ... and the wisdom ... (215112) ... and the wisdom ... (225110) ... and the wisdom ... (3483) ... and wisdom, ... (31641 ... and the wisdom, ... (45415) ... and wisdom ... (411323) ... and Wisdom ... (511024) ... and the wisdom ... (62214) ... and the wisdom ... The other root occurrences are available here http//corpus.quran.com/qurandictionary.jsp?root=Hkm#(215112) I mean you can know the law, you can know the Qu'ran, but if you don't have the wisdom to apply the law in a specific court case/apply the Qu'ran in an ethical dilemma then its not going to help much right? Exactly.

Thanks Wakas and Alen. The evidence you shared are impressive and do provide a strong case that the Quran is from God. Besides scientific predictions found in the quran, its eloquence, and prophecies are there any other line of evidence I can explore? I don't deny that the Quran is from God. It's just that I'm making a case to support and bolster my belief that the Quran is from God. what about Code 19 describe here? http//19.org/organization/code-19/ I haven't verified it, but if it is true then it does provide a formidable case that Quran is from God, coupled with the other evidence.

An excellent article http//web.archive.org/web/20080528083551/http//www.geocities.com/islamicdiscussions/haramandhalal.htm It has also been discussed in the past several times, e.g. http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=8443.0 Maytata is not dead meat but it literally means a dead body or an animal that died of itself. In addition dhabha means sacrifice and does not specifically mean cutting the throat as the Quran talks about Allah providing a dhabha, and talks about the food gained by hunting through a spear and with the help of hunting animals like dogs and eagles as lawful. In addition, it talks about the fish as ?laham,? or meat also just like it talks about land animals. If ?dabha? means to cut the throat, then that means that all the fish the Muslims eat is ?unlawful? as no one does ?dabha? of the fish by cutting their throats. The gentleman seems totally confused; equates herbivore mammals with fish, does consider animal died of itself different from"dhabha" but ignores the act involved, done one "dhabha" which is slaughter--Qatl--against and opposite to natural death.
