Does it mean that if there is no Medda at all, from meaning point of view, anywhere on the above "word", then still it would mean " mankind is in pain and suffering". I like this relationship you draw between pride and shame. My understanding of 4.3 and of many other ayas of the Quran similarly addressed is that it is adressed to all, to the whole community in a distributive way. That is, it is addressed to the whole community and each of the things requested to those susceptible of carrying it out within the community. I do not think it is stating who can or cannot carry in the community, it is saying that those able (and willing) to marry, should be married to those in need, that is, to the mothers of the fatherless. The general push is that of everybody assuming responsibility, not shrinking from it. Instead of having countless unwed mothers, build stable families and take up the social burdens. And no one in particular is addressed, but the whole community, because on the whole falls tha burden of social solidarity and justice. Understanding it this way we do not get in any need to choose between marry or marry off. Everything falls on the whole community, who should also support those of its members who more directly untertake to wed and may thus stretch themselves. And it must, the whole community, watch so that fatherless children do not suffer and that they reach adulthood and are handed what is rightfully theirs. Salaam

God is Most Loving...so how could He literary meant the cutting of the hands for petty theft?? Pray = Salat = PHYSICAL ACT of prostrating, bowing and bending of the body?? No Real salat is bowing to what is TRUTHFUL for there is God in every truth. Salaat has nothing to do with bowing. When we perform the salat, its our soul that performs the salat and nothing associated with physical body. You need to undertake good action as you are free to do that any time. When we salat...and doing the right things and bowing to the truth, we actually purify our souls to be good and clean. When our soul is clean, then it would direct us to do all the right things in life and we rid ourself from easily being influenced by the jinns and the satan who causes disorder and mankind to be led astray. You are free to do good any time of the day or night. What about the prayers performed by all the previous messengers which should not change from day one as God is Most Perfect. Anything that is from God is devoid of any doubts or any bad comments. Whatever is not from God will easily be questionable and made a mockery!! Think about it. Actually the verse quoted does not seem to encourage multicultarism but the oppossite however it does not say that different ethnic groups and races should be hostile to one another. Multi-culturalism actually eleminates these racial and ethnic distinctions, at least in theory. And it could be argued that this disrupts God's plan.
