Peace, I usually don't deal with 19'ers on these sorts of issues. In the end I don't care if you pray 5 times, 3 times or 2 times. If you atleast praying and praying according to your sincere understanding of the Quran then no one can fault you for that. I just wanted to deal with this translation 629 O you who believe, when the Congregational Prayer (Salat Al-Jumu`ah) is announced on day of gathering, you shall hasten to the commemoration of GOD, and drop all business. This is better for you, if you only knew. This is an erroneous translation. It says when called to prayer on yawmul-jumu'ah. If you read the Arabic there, there is not mention of Salaatul-Jumu'ah, i.e. Congregational prayer. Only a call to prayer on yawmul-jumu'ah. Jumu'ah if you look it up in a Classical Arabic dictionary means ' A social gathering.' And just like Al-Salaat means 'Prayer(s)' as well as 'the Prayer'(the meaning your understand being dependent on the context), Al-Jumu'ah can means 'the social Gathering' or 'Social Gathering(s).' I think you understanding where I'm going with this. So I'm just going to post the transliteration and the Arabic below to prove my original point of the above translation being an erroneous one. Remember in the end, as long as you are praying to the one god and you are following your sincere understanding of the Quran then I'm sure God can forgive us for whatever mistakes we make in our path towards solely worshiping God as our one and only god, through the last revelation of scripture that he has sent. Salaam Wakas Just a miscommunication. I take prayer to mean either physical or non-physical, and the word ritual is always bandied around by everyone who thinks prayer is not physical, so I thought you were contradicting yourself. To me whether you are praying traditionally or praying in your own unique method, then it is still prayer.

I'm pretty sure the Quran describes how you pray, anyone else? YES IT DOES U MUST LOOK UP THE WORDS IQAMAH FROM QAMA AND SALAH AND IT WILL MAKE REFERENCE TO YOUR SALAH BEING THE OBEDIENCE TO THE MESSAGE ONLY( Q.6153 THIS IS MY WAY SO FOLLOW IT1015 ETC) AND THE ZAKAT THE PURIFICATION OF YOURSELF THEREIN THIS IS THE TRUE SALAH OR ALL THE PROPHETS AND RIGHTEOUS, IF THE PROPHET FOLLOWED ONLY THE QURAN AS ALLAH HAS STATED THEN ANY OF HIS QUOTES SHOULD REFLECT THE QURAN NOT HIS OWN LEGISLATION IF THIS WAS SO ALLAH HAS STATED IN Q 6941-50 THAT HE WOULD HAVE STOPPED THE REVELATION AND SEIZED HIM AND CUT HIS LIFE VEIN. THE POINT IS EVERYTHING HAS BEEN EXPLAINED IN THE QURAN IN DETAIL AND ITS IS OWN TAFSEER AS ALLAH HAS STATED OR DO YOU NOT BELIEVE ALLAH'S WORDS AGAINST MAN'S WORDS. So, therefore there is some sort of Pagan Copyright law that entities them the right to use it... is this true? rotfl I think if you use Ameen to pray to a Pagan god...then it is Wrong...however if you use Ameen in its traditional sense as to affirm your prayer...then I think it could be correct. yes

I hear all of this and to an extent I agree. But God does not make things a burden for us. For many, Friday prayers at sundown are a hardship because of work. Additionally, I would not be inclined to go to a Masjid where its people follow that which is shirk. Wherever there is a congregation of 2-3 or more, that should suffice. But if this is not possible, one should observe the prayers if one cannot congregate with others.

I close my eyes. Not because I feel I have to or need to, but that's just how I do it, I think it helps me remember/recall things to give thanks for/things to ask forgiveness for. I try to remember to ask for forgiveness for particular/specific things, sometimes I ask for forgiveness for things which I have forgotten/things which I should but do not remember to ask forgiveness for.

I'm a bit confused. Sunnis and shias pay 2.5% zakat every year. How much do quranites pay? Salaam If you can afford to give more than 2.5 percent of your salary, do you think God would be pleased if you do not give more? If you cannot afford to give more than 2.5 percent of your salary, would God be pleased if you give 2.5 percent anyway and starve yourself, fall behind on your necessary bills (rent etc.) or starve your family?

Selam Seeker of truth Here is something I read from Aidid Safar's book (Mental Bondage) regarding 11114. It may have a little twist to traditional translations. It is a mistake to quote verses out of context. Here, 11114 should be read from surah 11 verse 112 through to 115. The verse does not say the Sol-laa should be done at two ends of the day and parts of the night. The verse actually says through both ends of the day and parts of the night. The verse is rendered here in its full context You shall uphold what was prescribed, and also those who repented with you, and not transgress. Indeed, He knows whatever your deeds are, watching. Do not be inclined to those who are wicked. That will make you suffer the Fire, and there is none for you except God as a protector, then you will not be helped. And uphold your commitments (aqimi-Sol-laa-ta) through the ends of the day and the parts of the night. Indeed the good deeds nullify the bad. That is the remembrance for those who want to remember. You shall be steadfast. God never fails to reward the righteous. (11112-115) The verse clearly says the commitments are ongoing throughout the day and parts of the night. Verses 11112-115 emphasise the importance of doing good deeds throughout the day and parts of the night by focusing oneself in routines according to what is taught from God?s prescribed decrees. God does not love the boastful, the arrogant. Be humble as you walk and lower your voice. ?Eat from everything that is lawful and good, and do not follow the step of the Devil, he is your ardent enemy. He directs you towards vice and evil and to invent lies and attribute them to God. This is part of the prescribed way and the wisdom sanctioned by God in the Reading. People, from the times of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad have been committed to these values. They observe these values in an orderly manner (as a deen). Common sense tells us that in order to achieve results these values must be translated into deeds. Worship or ritual prayers are irrelevant. Therefore, religion and deen are distinctly different. People are expected to serve the Creator by observing the prescribed orders. He has decreed for you the same deen enjoined upon Noah and what is revealed herein, and what was decreed for Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. You shall uphold the one deen and not be segregated. It is simply too difficult for the idol-worshippers to accept what you advocate. (4213) Be penitent to God, observe Him, uphold your commitments and do not fall into idol-worship. And do not be with those who change the deen into religion (shi-ya-?an) each sectarian is happy with what they have. (3031-32) Traditionally, the word shi?ah is translated as sect. Sects have long been associated with principal differences in a religious context. God however, has no interest in sectarianism. All the religions in this world are the same. The faithful congregate. They form groups to a common cause in public. They worship and pray ritually to different shapes of idols be it a wall, cross, star, crescent or a square house or other images made from the materials which themselves owe their existence to the true God. That is the extent of difference between religion and the deen as far as the Reading is concerned. Peace

Peace be upon you, Salaat is not enjoinment, but the idea of connection, or tying back (re-ligion, re-connecting) is implied in the word. Salaat deals with programming of the mind/subconcious. The things we do in life, how we RESPOND to the events and challenges of life, are automatic responses based on a PROGRAM. This PROGRAM is pre programmed in animals and plants and in the LOWER PART of man. However Man is the only being with Free Will, and therefore has been entrusted to Program Itself and to GUARD the PROGRAM from others who are able to reprogram it. The mind/subconcious goes through different states of receptivity throughout the day and night...when we are daydreaming, or "spaced-out", or in a period of high emotionality, then we are very receptive to ideas/thoughts/images, etc. This is how we learn and reprogram our selves. This is why in a culture where there is hard core gangster hip hop, gangster movies, and violent video games....we get violent people. That which we see and hear constantly wil one day catch us in this MIDDLE STATE (between wake and sleep) of high receptivity and PROGRAM US. That is why we are told woe to the programmers who are heedless of thier programming. People dont understand how the process of learning/programming takes place. As you can see in 4102 the Prophet did 2 rakat and only his soldiers did one rakat. So how can you explain it ? Maybe the Prophet did a full prayer (which is of 2 rakat) and his soldiers a shortened prayer (which is of one rakat).
