There is an alternative sugar product in Japan but isn't allowed on the sales market because of the Aspartame producers sake, the FDA suppressed it. its a south American plant called stevia rebaudiana, it is incredibly sweet. I read it in one of Dr Atkins books and it's recommended on the 'x-factor diet'. It has been used as a sweetener for generation in Japan and South America. In it's natural fresh or dried leaf form it can taste up to 10-15 times sweeter then common table sugar, or up to 300 times sweeter if you use it in extracted form. Extracts of stevia are relatively stable during heat processing. In the USA the FDA in one of it's many misguided attempts to 'protect' Americans, refuse to make stevia legal. After many years of public pressure it has been allowed to be sold as a herb but not a sweetener, but it's not allowed in any form here in the UK The EUC scientific committee for food was presented with rather bogus data and concluded a test tube derivative of stevia known as steviol 'might produce adverse affects in the male reproductive system and damage DNA'. Since no adverse affects with in people have ever been associated with stevia in it's long history of use it's so obvious that this is just another attack on a natural sweetener used for centuries in south America and for over of a quarter of a century in Japan. It is nothing less then a poorly thought out attempt to discredit an invaluable herb. Stevia possesses no threat what so ever to human health. It does however pose a potentially VERY BIG threat to corporate projects of companies producing artificial sweeteners. .... and Aspartame is not safe.

Peace jonny_k, Peace "amuslim", If your a sunni/shia then i surely cant understand your viewpt since 1) hadith commands to kill dogs and "muslims" all over the world dont like these creatures much anyways except some secular ones 2) sunnis/shias claim tht animals dont have souls anyways so pain is irrelevant. I for one beleive that we can experiment on animals but i also agree that the methods used should be umane. In case of the rats i see no prblem if they were anasthesized and then cut open and their brains removed. "islamic" slaughtering would be more cruel compared to this. GOD Bless! Im not sunni/shia, I follow the quran by itself. I am aware of those hadiths however. The hadith that comes to mind is I believe Abu Hurairya, the one that says that every black dog is the devil. I am also aware of the hadiths that say that God and the angels do not enter homes with pictures or dogs. The last that I know of is the saliva, which is apparently unclean and nullifies their ablution. What would be a humane way to experiment with animals? Would the methods that I said in which many lab scientist do be considered humane in your eyes? Like I said, I think we can so long we do it in the animals habitat and with care. How is islamic slaughtering worse? The animals get to live their whole life with care (at least they should) and out on the fields. Experimentation (the one Im speaking of) requires animals Not to be free Psychological damage due to be contained Not live a normal life which God prescribed for them and more. There is one hadith though that I can think of that favours slaughtering of animals. The one that states that you should slaughter the animal without the other animals in the way. That way it doesnt scare the other animals. Peace

What you don't know if that's what I was thinking. It's like when they ended up with 5 different string theories that worked perfectly mathematically, but only one could be for our universe. JK- Oh so you mean that in that case only one interpretation of the many would be in agreement with the natural world and so the original meaning doesnt really matter. Well yes thts true but as i said that although one term in any language has more than one meaning, conext and grammar limit them to relatrively fewer and now the one which matches the findings in the natural word HAS TO be part of those meanings. Otherwise the Quran would be falsified(and this is only one way of falsification). But actually i was talking abt the semantic use of the term "know" here as compared to the original meaning you said that someone may know WHAT WAS THE ORIGINAL MEANING OF A TERM but at the same time not know what it originally meant. Actually, I read about this in many places, that rotating magnetic fields influence gravity. Speaking of which, I'm highly interested in electromagnetism. But mostly as a novelty. If it leads to strange effects, then I love it - wireless electricity, tesla coils, antigravity, etc.

Ah, now I understand what you mean. By quantum field, you presumably mean just "space and time" in the quantum sense. Didn't understand that at first. What I meant was that atoms are in the lowest energy state possible given the combination of mass and energy, adding energy will decompose them to an even lower state p Just like melting ice by adding heat... What you are proposing is a derivative of Maxwell's demon, and it breaks energy conservation, because such a "demon" must use up energy to absorb energy in such a way. Odd thing, but that's conservation for you. As I said, maybe something can absorb so much energy, but it won't be infinite, and the law of entropy shall see to it that we get zero, or some highly inefficient useful work out of this!

We don't KNOW they exist. The concept of "atoms", "protons", and "neutrons", goes with what we find through empirical observation. For instance, previously, the plum pudding model was used - this approximates a fair bit, but falls short of explaining many things. Science will never end, as long as there is a universe to be understood, and humans to do the understanding. Physics ending in 20 years is a pipe dream.

Peace again, Another thought. If there is such a hidden potential energy which 1) acts as seperating mechanism of the h2 from the oxygen so as to require less energy from the e current to achieve it 2) gets released on the recombination of h2 with oxygen, then it now means the atoms are losing their energy. First i thought after a certain number of recycling and hence the atoms using significant amounts of energy(quantum particle release) they would suffer deteriottion causing immense radiactivity BUT i forgot that all the atoms as soon as they pass through the environment air and/or sunlight they immediately absorb their energy back to maintain their original particle nature. I believe this is what atoms do to keep themselves in the state they are as long as possible meaning as long as theres external energy available from the environemt(quantum refill?). GOD Bless!

Peace "samia", Salaam JK You and yusha just took part of my posting and responded. It is not about whether God is all knowing or not. I did not pose any question. My statement is mostly related to the never-ending debate of free will and punishment. JK- I just wanted to make it clear tht not having freewill doesnt have any impact on the existence of GOD. I think that's why you concluded that free will is an illusion. JK- No i concluded this because the most advanced neuroscientific discoveries point in the direction that free will is created in our consciousness which itself is a result of neural activity in certain areas of the brain. Peace Angel, Well, Dawkins' 'selfish gene' is a metaphorical concept to help people understand how altruistic behaviour can evolve, so... I don't know if it can be 'proven false' or not. IMHO it is helpful in evolution discussions. But whether genes are actually selfish, I don't know.

Mashallah, the Quran is full of knowledge, such as that you quote of the barriers between two seas. Despite these signs people still find excuses to deny the existence of God and His authorship of the Quran.
