The premise of the article as a whole is irrationally flawed, since it correlates ideas that have ONLY been established with a religious theme... At the end of the day, there are actually two (2) concepts being relayed in this context, although they are meshed together as if they are the same PURPOSE and MEANING. To put it plainly, your life doesn't have to have a PURPOSE in order for it to have MEANING. A purpose is said to exist for the life of an individual prior to their physical existence. I think there is enormously much we don't know, of course. There is one thing which I think we must be very careful about, and guard against, and that is the habit of convenience to assign blame on external things outside us, whether it be other people, other religions, other cultures, or even other beings like devils, spirits and what not. As soon as we shift blame onto anything outside us, no matter how justified it is in an "every day" context of cause and effect, we actually make ourselves into victims and throws away our responsibility and whatever power we have over our life. To blame on "the other" is to escape personal responsibility for our lives. Allah will not let things happen to us unfairly. Evil will not get to us unless we open the door. Ignorance and blame is to open that door and sell yourself in mental slavery. We need to stop blaming everything on external entities. We need to start being more humble in many different ways. Humility leads home to God and the light. Resistance leads to arrogance and darkness, away from God. Real humility is not the same thing as kindness and generosity and "those things", it is much much bigger than that, and humility is the thing that humanity is lacking. We need real humility to be able to surrender to God. It is actually more or less the same thing. This is what I generally think and it is not a response to anyone specific. Peace all!
