I was refering to things that are bound to the laws of physics. Science can't prove or disprove God for example letalone anything spiritual of course not. Javalatte, Hate is a word with a strongly negative and slightly offensive nature, and often used in cursing. Hatred is always an unwanted trait for a person realized in GOD. It is usually better to use a milder word. To not like wars or atrocities does any sane person. If GOD was emotional they would have come to an end. A German psychologist named Sigmund Freud has done a research on this issue.. Defence mechanisms (German Abwehrmechanismen) are psychological strategies brought into play by the unconscious mind to manipulate, deny, or distort reality in order to defend against feelings of anxiety and unacceptable impulses to maintain one's self schema. These processes that manipulate, deny, or distort reality may include the following Repression, or the burying of a painful feeling or thought from one's awareness even though it may resurface in a symbolic form Identification, incorporating an object or thought into oneself Rationalization, the justification of one's behavior and motivations by substituting "good" acceptable reasons for the motivations. Generally, repression is considered the basis for other defence mechanisms. Healthy persons normally use different defences throughout life. An ego defence mechanism becomes pathological only when its persistent use leads to maladaptive behaviour such that the physical or mental health of the individual is adversely affected. The purpose of ego defence mechanisms is to protect the mind/self/ego from anxiety and/or social sanctions and/or to provide a refuge from a situation with which one cannot currently cope. Human kind and any sentient being is always driven by the "Why". Hamdoulilah, we exist in a ceiling-less Universe. This is an invitation to explore! Allah is infinitely confident and has/will make our quest infinitely exciting and entertaining. As for getting to a final point, this thinking is a limitation of your three dimensional brain. If you observe the universe, everything is continuous and there are no such things as "states" or "points". Hence through inference, it is continuous infinite. Allah of course holds all the answers, but even this statement is limited because what are answers in higher dimensions? What is knowing in higher dimensions? These are great things to ponder on but do not waste too much time as they won't have much impact on your day to day life except for invigorating your drive to study, learn and discover.

It channel nothing. It channels your own undoing. One may feel hate when things are really relly evil and the opprssion unbearable, but one may feel it in spite of oneself, to rejoice in hate is idiotic. It is acknowledging the fact that one lives for somebody else. If you hate somebody you live for that person, you are giving up living for yourself in order to live for others and as a functions of others. It is better to struggle for love of oneself and love of others than to fight for hate to somebody. Hate is serfdom to a pit without bottom. In fact, it is hell. That is why when people say that hell is unfair and all that, no, hell is one's own fabrication. I would never, never, never advice anybody I care for to indulge in hate. As to doing good things for somebody you hate, I don't believe it. If you do something good for somebody, you do not hate that person, it is as simple as that. It is possible to do good to somebody you do not love, but not to somebody you hate. Unless, of course, hate is not hate, which happens a lot when people play with words. Salaam

Salaam Lena, The author of Quran left the so-called "initials" as a little help with literal interpretation of the words instead of, for example, culture bias as you say. If one learns the role they play they can interpret Quran exactly as the author meant. Have faith

Salaam, Hope it's okay to post in here even though the topic has been cold for a while! I think the strong reactions against MM could be partly due to how many side effects they often have, and how the medicines can sometimes be worse than the illness it's treating. Also, there seems to be this mindset of using MM for everything and anything (minor cold? Take medicine. Runny nose? Take medicine) when often our bodies are capable of fighting off the illness without medicine. As a result of our over reliance on MM, we now have issues like antibiotic resistant infections, and various, powerful mutated strains of previously minor diseases. That being said, I don't believe we should avoid MM entirely. There are lots of cases where no amount of rest and vitamin C is going to help and you need something stronger, but we need to take a balanced approach to them.

I agree with Taro Hiroshi. The sawm mentioned with respect to Mary is not about refraining from eating and drinking, but from talking. This is an apparent contradiction with another verse which apparently refers to 'eating and drinking'. However, i have seen that contradiction explained with reference to the actual context of that particular verse which actually refers to sexual intercourse, and the phrase 'eat and drink' is actually a term of art or a then-common expression referring to partaking of enjoyment (and not eating and drinking literally). I am not a scholar, and will let those who are and wish to elaborate on this further. I only mention this because i have seen this previously on this site as a possible way to solve the contradiction, but i have not delved deep into it (as i, due to health issues, am precluded from fasting in the "traditional" manner).
