If she was a baby, she wouldn't remember. I have read about the "full" circumcision of women. It is barbaric, outdated, and pagan.

    yes it is! brickwall

Definitely... another strike to the Sunnis, the prophet Muhammad apparently said in a hadith that cutting off 'a little' is okay nope

From what I have been told (I may be wrong) the prophet did not say anything in a hadith, they were made up after his death.

Well, hadiths are full of doo-doo anyway but for the sake of ah research

"When you circumcise then do not cut severely, since that is better for her and more pleasing to the husband." (Reported by Abu Dawud and Al-Baihaqee and declared Hasan by Shaikh Al-Albani)

Also, one of those ask-an-imam sort of sites http//www.islamonline.net/servlet/Satellite?pagename=IslamOnline-English-Ask_Scholar/FatwaE/FatwaE&cid=1119503543886

          Seriously, wtf.

            bravo

He wasn't allowed to either from what I understand from these verses...

Had he uttered any other teachings - We would have punished him - We would have stopped the revelations to him (644-46)

Of course, you can show evidence like this to the Sunnis and Shi'ites but most of them won't listen.

              Peace peace

I am quite sure that no one who believes that God is love would condone the mutilation of women (or men for that matter)

But isn't male circumcision mandated by YHVH in His Torah??

Inaccurate/erronous translation, plus you gave a wrong citation.

6943 A revelation from the Lord of the worlds
6944 And if he had ascribed his sayings/anything falsely to Us

6947 None of you would be able to prevent it

6948 This is a reminder for the righteous

6950 And that it is a distress for the rejecters

You've used Rashad Khalifa's translation and concerning these verses it is inaccurate AKA bad. Just compare his with the other ones on www.quranix.net

I'm not saying that his is overall bad, to the contrary, I think it is one of the best, but sometimes/many times it just isnt literal/good.

No offense but do you think RK is a messenger? If so, you think he can't translate the Quran properly? hmm

I only used that because it is the Progressive Muslims translation too according to submission.org.

                                Misconception Rashad Khalifa was infallible.
                                Truth Rashad Khalifa was fallible

Fact the translation of those verses is not literal.
Check other ones. The literal translation brings across the message way better.

Fact orignially, he only wanted to translate the Quran for his family and himself, because he saw distortions in traditional translations - he wanted to make a monotheist translation - not a sectarian/traditionalist one. Then he discovered the numerical pattern.
