Surely Allah chose Adam and Nuh and the descendants of Ibrahim and the descendants of Imran above the nations.so who is that Adam in the above verse? Adam of the Eve or a different Adam?

A symbolic interpretation is not equivalent to a literal translation. Try taking 218 or 639 literally, for example.
Adam, literally, refers to one "person".

You are translating it in one verse, and not in another? This is guess work.
What about instances where it could mean BOTH a proper noun, or humanity. 359. What's your criteria for choosing one over the other?

Good thinking. If you read the verses after 230, the malaika say that they only know what God has taught them!

Quiet possible, imo. Or that we existed before the creation of adam. This could be how the malaika knew our behavior.
