Fish is haram 4 Quran Alone adept according to Sunni Cheikh

Peace Q_student,
Forgive me for interrupting the discussion between Belal and you but correct me if I am wrong. Logically it cannot mean "dead", otherwise the god would be implying that we should only eat animals or fish or whatever while they are alive and kicking.

Hyenas do eat alive and kicking animals ;D

Peace Layth
Thank you for your kind words.
Some extra insights.
For me it was like a pendulum, I went from one extreme to the other.
At one stage not questioning anything, then questioning everything,
and now using reason and caution.
I think what one of the gravest mistakes the second generation of scholars did (the ones who won
the legal and intellectual battle as to how to set up the islamic system / legal framework, the main architect for the sunnis
Imam Shafie, for the Shia maybe Imam Yaqoub al-Kulainy) was- to endorse the acceptability of compiling hadiths about the Prophet and sahaba and 2. to endorse hadiths as a source of Law.
- allowing by implications that all hadiths even not attributable to Mohammed became his hadiths too!!!
As a result, this spawned the hadith factories that we know of, i.e Bukhari, Tirmidhi, Kitab Al Kafi, etc
If for instance those early scholars said, ok we tolerate that there are sayings of The Prophet circulating, but they are not binding and we are not using them, we would have known where they came from, we would have gotten a better idea about timelines, there would have been far less incentives for corruption...
but Allah willed it otherwise, if you look at it, it is again to fulfill certain prophecies that have come to pass...
and He knows best what His Scheme is... -
Peace,
Of course is not a "Natural Death", and therefor, the Fish is killed when fished out of the water.

It means we can eat those animals which die because of some poisoning. If take hens 100 and poison them with Carbon monoxide ,can those be considered Halaal as per Quran ?
We should not forget that is it is sort of Strangling for the Fish because of production of Free Oxygen radicles which damage external and internal respiratory systems of it.

RegardsPeaec,
Men have been practicing Fishing since their first creation. Moreover, they use to catch fish but did not used to slaughter them in order to kill.
If God were to think that this way would cause the fish to die in a way that would cause the fish to be prohibited for us to eat, then God would have instructed Men otherwise; rather, God Instructed us that Fishing is Lawful for us as a way to kill and eat the sea creatures.we should only eat animals or fish or whatever while they are alive and kicking.
By the way, that is how I like my Fish cooked, "alive and Kicking" on the top of my Scorching Grill. eat

Fishing is lawful as hunting is lawful. Being hunting lawful does not mean we start eating strangle animals which are clearly prohibited. Exactly God has made lawful not but .How does it imply that dead animals/ strangled animals have become lawful for us.
That is true we cannot eat "Kicking animals".BTW what is the Quranic method of Killing the Halaal animals for eating puposes ?

I do not know.
I like fish a lot but have left it for the last 5 years thinking that it is dead meat (maitah) or Strangled one.
That is why I am asking From Quran experts.

That shaykh said that "all dead animals" are forbidden in the Qur'aan... Where?
Forbidden to you is that which dies of itself, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that on which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked, and the strangled (animals), and that beaten to death, and that killed by a fall, and that killed by goring with the horn, and that which wild beasts have eaten ? except what you slaughter; and that which is sacrificed on stones set up (for idols), and that you seek to divide by arrows; that is a transgression. This day have those who disbelieve despaired of your religion, so fear them not, and fear Me. This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favour to you and chosen for you Islam as a religion. But whoever is compelled by hunger, not inclining wilfully to sin, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (Q. 53)
Where does this passage say that "all dead animals" are forbidden? Aren't ALL animals dead when we eat them, or does that shaykh choose to eat animals that are still alive?! laugh

RegardsAs I told you, Try Grilled "alive and kicking Fish". At least you are aware that is not a dead meat...By the way, being born in seashore city, I love to eat Raw Oysters, Clams, Crabs, and Fish (i.e., Sushi); they taste the best, especially when they are alive and kicking in your mouth.
As far as myself, I'm comfortable with my different ways of eating Sea Food; and according to the hadith, the Prophet and his companion used to eat fish that were dead due to being fished out of the water.

Forget about that Shaikh brother. It is the habit of these "hadithi" shukhookh.
I am asking about Quranic method of killing animals for eating puposes.
If I give you a hen ,how will you kill it so that it becomes halaal for eating purpose and does not come in the category ofRegards

RegardsIf this would help, the Quran tell us the Prophet Moses used to eat Fish
1862
18631862 And when they passed further on, he said to his youth Bring us our lunch; we have found much fatigue in this journey of ours.
1863 He said Do you remember when we rested upon the rock? I forgot the fish, and it was the devil who made me forget to remember it. It made its way back to the sea amazingly!I hope now you can go back and enjoy eating the tasty sea food that our Lord created for us to enjoy.

Again, do not exaggerate in the Deen, what comes from the sea is lawful to eat, so you can eat it, raw, cooked, whatever.
Now as anything use common knowledge, maybe the water is contaminated, so you risk poisoning... you might be allergic to shellfish like my mother was... do not eat rotten fish... the food from the sea is better eaten fresh, so keep it refrigerated or frozen, and not longer than advisable, etc.Peace Brother

I was not expecting at least from you to avoid my question of "how to kill halaal animals for eating puposes"
If you do not have answer which I guess you do not, there is no need for wasting time anymore.

RegardsPeace,
The best known way that was old practiced by Jews (Kosher slaughter ) and then by Christian and Moslem is to do the followingThe slaughter should be performed by a specially trained person
The knife should be long (16 inches for cattle and other large animals and 12 inches for sheep) and razor-sharp and should be used to slaughter the animal in a single, unbroken move
The knife should be inspected by the slaughter person for sharpness and damage before every animal is slaughtered
A blessing should be given before entering the kill floor
The oesophagus, trachea, jugular veins and carotid arteries should be cut without damaging the spinal marrow
The blood should be totally drained

If predators by land are not allowed to eat than logically the same is for seahunter we should look what is meant by catch of the sea in surat bacara.stay connected

Does it mention anything from the sea that is prohibited?
What about chicken? Don't they eat worms and centipedes etc? Doesn't that make them predators? Is chicken prohibited then?
Peace

Red How did you reach to this conclusion? Do you have any aayat to support?
May Allah increase our knowledge and guide us on His path pr

No, but it does not mention that everything from sea is eatable.
596
Lawful for you is the catch of the sea, to eat it as enjoyment for you and for those who travel; and unlawful for you is the catch of the land as long as you are under restriction; and be aware of God to whom you will be gathered. This is the FM-Translation with a missinng word after catch of the sea "wa taamahu"
If everything from sea is allowed then there would be no distinction from" catch of the sea and his food "
So what does "saydul bahr" mean?
