    salam simple,

there are people who unknowingly consider themselves as equals to God - they prosecute & judge the others, since they are of the opinion that they have the absolute truth in their hands.

may God guide us all on the honorable path,
    peace and blessings

Yes either they do it themselves or have other donkeys do the work for them. Obviously in this regard they are god for the donkeys.

removed a line from my previous post in this thread -- it's addressed to no one in particular and should be a reminder for all of us

simple, as someone else said previously, you do talk in riddles laugh

i wish i knew you in person, just so i don't get trapped in your riddles...

Anyway, this is some verses which came to mind, especially in relation to the discussion in the thread you previously linked ("Could an Atheist be a believer.&quot ...

747 And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people."

748 And the companions of the AlA`raAf will call to men whom they recognize by their mark, saying, "Of no avail to you was your gathering and that you were arrogant."

749 "Are these the ones whom you swore that Allah would never offer them mercy? Enter Paradise. No fear will there be concerning you, nor will you grieve."

In relation to Joe Betik's thread ("having The God&quot it's sorta like the difference between believing in The God and having The God, i think.

          What d'you think, ma'am?

            Hi san,

As i see it all; peace

It's good to believe and even better to have the natural force that is evolving us all on our side or rather it is better for us to be on the side of this great natural force evolving mankind, Right?

whether we call it God or Rama or whatever does it matter, not one bit-i think.

So if someone says i don't believe in such a thing as rama or God , who cares , as long as they do believe in the natural force that has been evolving mankind or rather as long as they are on the side of the natural force evolving mankind with there actions and deeds.

So an athiest could be a believer and yet denying God, simply because his/her actions/deeds are not in oppostion to but in line with the natural force that is evolving mankind (or Allah)-thus like having the God.

            Do you understand my view?

            Thanks and peace

The point is... well, i do not know.

The name "The God" itself, is associated (as in "learning by association" -- i'm not talking about shirk at all guys, so hold yourselves back! ) with all the "best names" (Asma AlHusna) in the Qur'aan -- which i too, perhaps similar to you, think that we can only understand them in the view of The God's relationship with us. Believing in "The God" while neglecting all the "best names" would be kind of an empty belief--especially if one's own interpretation of "The God" is filled with his/her own thinking not in line with what is described in The Book (AlkitaAb). So, for any of us who had accepted the revealed Book's view of "The God", he/she must strive to build his/her understanding of "The God" in harmony with these "best names" (Asma AlHusna).

I don't know if an atheist were able to fully grasp these "Asma AlHusna" without being informed with what the AlkitaAb informs to mankind. Then again "The God guides whomever He wills". So i am not to judge anyone by what i have no knowledge of.

"Belief/believe/believer (Imaan/Amanuw/mu'min)" itself is a concept 'more than words' (4914-15) -- it is initiated with acceptance/acknowledgment/belief in certain fundamental concepts and then realized with actions through life.

And re the "checking algorithm" -- "not god except The God", i think its best use is for our own personal thinking (as the ultimate reminder) -- to remind ourselves that nothing (of which we experience in this world) is god--but the only god is "The God" (in one's own language), as understood through the "best names" (Asma AlHusna) explained through "The Book" (AlkitaAb) and confirmed with our ongoing experience in this life (The God's Ayatiyn in our life compared to His Ayatiyn in The Book).

I hope i have clarified my view on this matter.

Thanks and Alhamdulillah for this discussion, and please forgive me if i caused any inconvenience -- may God guide us to always be open and true.

              peace

have come to ruku`and sujud, haven't we &nbsp

salamun alaykum san, simple & all,

if we may say, 'iman' is 'to believe', 'ruku'' is 'to acknowledge', and 'sujud' is 'to give respect'. while 'asm'' is 'status'. in our current comprehension that is, and the salient issues contained in al-AAalaq (http//free-minds.org/quran/PM/96) are (selected few among the many)
                    a. your 'rabb' is the one who created man
                    b. He created man to depend on Him
                    c. He taught what man does not know
                    d. but man is too much, in that he regard himself to be able to know by himself
                    e. indeed to your 'rabb' is the reference (read c)
                    etc.

but what is 'rabb'? in simple english, 'rabb' implies 'the one in control' or perhaps the ideas regarding 'rabb' can be gathered around the following words; owner-master-lord.

stage 1 the knowledge or information regarding the 'rabb', man and knowledge.
stage 2 one believes (iman) or disbelieve (la yu'min)
stage 3 when one believes (iman), one should acknowledge or accept the facts (ruku&#039 the 'rabb' - to acknowledge It's status & roles in one's life. otherwise one will dismiss or deny the information regarding the 'rabb' - thus such a one becomes a 'mukazzib'.
stage 4 only one who has acknowledged the status of one's 'rabb' will give the respect (sujud).

iman, ruku' & sujud are pregnant words indeed. some examples
                    a. the rabb or lord is the one that should be the only one in control of one's being (mind, feel & deeds), but what is the one in control of you now? is it your mind? is it your emotion? or is it another person? what did the qur'an say about the creations of the mind? also of the feel? and of course of other people? we can learn the details of these in the qur'an, couldn't we?
                    b. when one acknowledges the fact that one in control of one's being should only be the rabb, it is only proper that one should know much more about one's rabb. only in later surah could we come across the very idea about God or 'Allah'. what does this fact say about God? and there are people who often unknowingly appointed multiple gods, sometimes together with God - thus a mushrik one became.
                    c. to have other 'rabb' is to appoint equals or rivals for God - it is to be disrespectful to God. to be prejudiced is also to be disrespectful to God. to wrong one's understanding is to be disrespectful to God too. and the list regarding man's disrespectful attitudes can be very lengthy, but suffice to say that some believers have so often blatantly been disrespectful to God. and most do not realize about their disrespect to God.

thus the frequent call is 'aqeemoo al-salat wa-atoo alzakat' or 'correct your relationships with purified hearts', especially the relationship with God. one who has corrected one's relationship with God will slowly but surely be guided to enjoy excellent relationships with other people, and whatever is there in the skies and the earth and in between them both. God's promise is 'wala hawfun AAalayhim, wala hum yahzanoon.'

but this is merely our current comprehension. if one wants to know the truth, one could easily ask God about it, for God is closer than what the fools have usually thought.

and may God guide us all on the correct path. insha-Allah.

                    peace!
