Munafiqeen don't listen. They keep rotating on heels in a mood of playful dancing without noticing what has been said and explained.

      peace Mazhar,
Please see reply 136 and let me know your view.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

        peace Mazhar,
Please see reply 136 and let me know your view.

        Salam, Wakas

It was given in Reply 138

1793 "Or that you have a luxurious mansion, or that you can ascend into the heavens. And we will not believe in your ascension unless you bring for us a record that we can read." Say "Glory be to my Lord. Am I anything other than a human messenger!"

Arabic text about it is this
        http//www.haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/017.%20Al%20Israa/17.93a.gif

Progressive Muslims 1790 And they said "We will not believe to you until you cause a spring of water to burst from the land"
1791 "Or that you have an estate of palm trees and grapes, and you cause gushing rivers to burst through it."
1792 "Or that you make the heaven fall upon us in pieces as you claimed, or that you bring God and the angels before us."
1793 "Or that you have a luxurious mansion, or that you can ascend into the heavens. And we will not believe in your ascension unless you bring for us a record that we can read." Say "Glory be to my Lord. Am I anything other than a human messenger!"

        017.093
YUSUFALI "Or thou have a house adorned with gold, or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No, we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could read." Say "Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man,- a messenger?"
PICKTHAL Or thou have a house of gold; or thou ascend up into heaven, and even then we will put no faith in thine ascension till thou bring down for us a book that we can read. Say (O Muhammad) My Lord be Glorified! Am I aught save a mortal messenger?
SHAKIR Or you should have a house of gold, or you should ascend into heaven, and we will not believe in your ascending until you bring down to us a book which we may read. Say Glory be to my Lord; am I aught but a mortal messenger?

          peace Mazhar,

Thanks for clarifying, however I maintain my original statement. I assumed when you said "No such thing is said therein." you meant what I deduced from it was not correct due to a translation error, but now it seems you meant it literally word for word does not say what I said it did. I am not concerned by that until it can be proven what I deduced is not possible.

          My reasoning is as follows
When the messenger says "Glory be to my Lord. Am I anything other than a human messenger?" it is rhetorical, implying whatever is in the list prior cannot be done by him, as he is only a human messenger, thus so-called "ascension or night journey" is unlikely. To do so would have called his statement into question as if he could/did do it he would be other than human, ergo, contradiction.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

and its meaning would be 'heaven'

                Salaam

                Wakas

If you read the verses from 91-to 93, it is very clear that it is demanded from him to show some Miracles on his own, they are asking Muhammad to perform what they are demanding, and very rightly Muhammad peace is upon him answers "do you think I am any thing other than Human Messenger?" meaning to say Did I said I can do these all miracles on my own? I am not a God, who can perform all this on his own. But he never said that Allah cannot make it happen, in fact Allah made it happen. If a baby can be born without father and mother, night journey is much easier comparatively.

Further more if we analyze the first verse of same Surah
subhanallazee 'asra bi-'Abdihee laylam-minal Masjidil-Harami 'ila-Masjidil-'Aqsallazee barakna hawlahou li- nuriyahou min 'Ayatina; 'innahou Huwas-Samee'ul Baseer

Glory to (Allah) Who did take His Servant for Journey by night, from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did Bless, - in order that We might show him some of Our Signs For He is the One Who is hearer and Seer

This event marks some significance as Allah says, "to show him some of Our signs".

Which is further confirmed from these verses of surah Al-najm

Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled. Nor does he say of Desire. It is no less than inspiration sent down to him He was taught by one mighty in Power. One vigorous; and he grew clear to view, While he was in the highest part of the horizonHe drew nearer by moving down.Until He became as close as possible. He then revealed to His servant what was to be revealed. The mind never made up what it saw, Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw? For indeed he saw him second time, Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass Near it is the Garden of Abode.

                Allah Ho Akbar.

Raj don't you think that Allah can 'show him signs' in dreams? don't you have dreams and see a clear picture?

And why is it so hard to believe otherwise. Allah can do either way.
But look at the words of verses carefully, and you will know why I prefer the former understanding.

                        peace,

Thanks Mazhar for 2922 however that verse does not prove anything. It simply means no matter where you go, whether in the earth/land or sky/heaven, you cannot escape His decision, i.e. covering every location. It is a fact that today, some can go into the sky or even in space, but at that time no-one could, and to do so would have made one more than a human, ergo, contradiction. My point still stands.

                            i am assuming you mean 17 90-93?

the unbelivers were asking for some sort of miracles as proof and the prophet answered that he was a man, a messenger. Nowhere does it say or imply he was flying through the sky and clearly says he cannot do that, that he is human.

Correct. That should be his answer, but how you or any one else can assume from this that Allah cannot take him to night Journey, or he was not taken.
Also read Surah Al-najm, combined with 171 and the above verses starting from 1789 and then please share your understanding.

Muhammad's (peace is upon him) night journey as stated in 171 and 531-18,, is a test because the people had to believe Muhammad (peace is upon him) on faith.

i have not assumed Allah cannot do anything He wishes Raj, you do enough of that for everyone. You have assumed from these verses that he has been on a physical journey, one can 'journey' in a dream or a day dream on by 'inspiration' from Allah in a 'vision', it doesnt necessarily mean a physical journey.

Also read Surah Al-najm, combined with 171 and the above verses starting from 1789 and then please share your understanding.
From what i can gather from reading 53.1-18 there was another person/being apart from Muhammed or Allah and that is what was seen on the horizon. Horizon is the line of distance that you can see, not in the sky. Whatever or whoever it was is apparently unknown but was a great sign of Allah. It mentions the Lote tree shrowded in mystery. Whatever it was it sounds wonderful but i cannot see any flying through space in these verses, maybe a dream or vision yes, but not actual physical journey.

Muhammad's (peace is upon him) night journey as stated in 171 and 531-18,, is a test because the people had to believe Muhammad (peace is upon him) on faith.

So where is the bit where he tells the people what happened and tests their faith of who believes?

81.23 also mentions Muhammed saw 'him' in the clear horizon, it doesnt say who it was though but it wasnt God.

The meanings of the words remain static. What what one perceives a broader idea from those words should remain within the fold of meanings of those words and not beyond the scope of those words. We can not presume meanings by considering an active participle a passive participle or a masculine as feminine. The word is Active participle and then is the exact location "Fee" which means any location within the Earth and any location within the Sky where they cannot frustrate/avert the will/decision of Allah.

An information is given that man will not be able to frustrate/avert decisions of Allah in the Sky, indicative of the fact that man can ascend to Sky. That indicated the possibility. And Allah has further told

We will keep making it visible to the eyes, of those who do not accept Qur'aan, the signs/knowledge in the Universe and in their own bodies till it becomes evident/manifest for them that this Qur'aan is a statement of proven fact.

                                  4153
The Grand Quran has informed that Allah will keep revealing, the knowledge about the universe and human body, and it will become manifest to the people that the Quran is a statement of proven fact. Why would it become manifest that the Quran is a statement of proven fact when man sees/perceives new knowledge about universe and human body? If the things mentioned in a book written earlier in time and space are subsequently found a scientific fact only then it is evident to people that the Book is really a statement of proven facts and not conjectural and presumptive.

It stands proved that in Qur'aan it was not just a statement in air but was a fact that man can and will go into the space.

81.23 also mentions Muhammed saw 'him' in the clear horizon, it doesnt say who it was though but it wasnt God.

Very rational argument. It will become more clear if the above, which is absolutely incorrect translation, is not relied upon.

that Guiding Lord of you people was neither unmindful of his surroundings and nor he distracted.

This cannot be stated with reference to a dream.

This does not say 'and these swearing are to reiterate and confirm that the Guiding Lord of you people is never afflicted from any delusions and hallucination.'

It says 'and NOT is your companion crazy'

And it is a certain fact that he had seen him at the Demarcating Horizon .

There is NO mention of Gabriel in this verse. It says 'it is certain he saw (him) in the clear horizon' it does not mention WHO he saw nor does it say 'the when he was at the Upper most horizon during his journey beyond limits of Universe-'

                                          Look up the word 'horizon'

                                          http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/081.%20At%20Takweer/81.24.gif
And he is never withholder/miser in making public the unseen which he has been made to see.

'And not does he withold information of the unseen'

So in your 'corrections' to Gods book you have added Gabriel where there is no mention and a 'journey beyond limits of the Universe' that there is no mention of in the original text.

I am sure Allah will be pleased you have 'corrected' His book for Him and assumed He 'missed' a few points.
