Well, I can show you many respected translators who disagree with you. But let's go with expanded as to me, there really isn't much difference. So how was the earth "expanded"? Was it "enlarged" or something? Did it grow after it was created? How so?

The expansion was something Allah did in one shot before he sent the rain down, so this isn't going to work. Maybe the earth expanded as it was cooling off? Or, maybe expanding was meant to mean the same thing as spreading out. The two can indeed mean the same thing. Expand can have the same meaning as spread out.

No, but that was a nice try. It means the land remains blessed and the earth remains expanded. We blessed the land and it remains blessed as it was when we blessed it. We expanded the earth and it remains expanded as it was when we expanded it.
