salaam brook, just a fast idea yes we are souls, but we live in a physical body on earth, so during our lifetime we are both i also thought right away about the "being put to death during sleep" which imo confirms our body stays in place, we sleep, but our soul is traveling to the death land, which is a spiritual one lk Salaam LK I know that these ayats speak about slain (killing), but the idea is that we cannot die (souls). Allah says kum faya kum...(be, it is) can not be changed...I think we think about the physical life to much. (my opinion). ( , Al-Baqara, Chapter 2, Verse 154) And not say of those who are slain in the way of Allah. "dead." Nay, they are living, and though not you-perceive . Wa la ta-qooloo liman yu-qtalu fee sabeeli Allahi amwatun bal ahyaon wa lakin la ta-shuroona ( , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter 3, Verse 169) And no, say of those who are slain in Allah.s way, dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord; Wa la ta-sabanna allatheena qutiloo fee sabeeli Allahi amwatan bal ahyaon inda rabbi-him yu-rzaq-oona

I wanted to clarify that Albruni quoted an aayat but fail to understand "4150-151 -- Those who disbelieve in All?h and His Messengers, and desire to make separation between All?h and His Messengers and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in some," desiring to adopt a way in between this and that? those are the unbelievers in truth; and We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment." First part "Those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers" First of all we DO believe in ALL messengers And this part talks about all Allah's Messengers not only ONE. Salaam brother Khan, Since you request to correct as you are wrong...... First you need to know what is belief ,belief is some thing want we follow and I don't think you follow ALL or even Mohammed as you denie hadiths and denies to follow Mohammed and denies the Quran which ask to obey the messenger. We belive both Quran and Hadiths ,We follow the hadiths of Abraham and we do haj as instructed by Mohammed , We follow all the messangers as instructed in quran and in hadiths. Second part "and desire to make separation between All?h and His Messengers" Again, not only Messenger but Messengers . And the important part is, we also believe in "Maiyn yuti-irRasoola fakhat ata'Allah"... that means we are not making seperations, but people who believe in Hadith says that AlQuraan from Allah and AlHadith from Messenger... They are making separations. Third part "and say, We believe in some and disbelieve in some" We never say so, we say, we believe in the complete book of Allah as a complete guidance for the whole mankind. But people who believe in Hadith say this, when you ask how to perform Salaat, they say some are in AlQuraan and rest details are in Hadith. Thus, they don't believe in any order of Allah completely... be it a Salaat, Zakaat, Hajj, Sadaqaa, Saum, etc... We say we believe in all... but the followers of Hadith say AlQuraan does not contain everything in details, so they deny some of it. That doesn't mean the separation between the messengers but the separation between Allaha and messangers which is proved by the third part which says ("We believe in some and disbelieve in some," desiring to adopt a way in between this and that?)you cant adopt the way of adam by marrying your own sister because its prohibited ,the verse mean that you want to make separation saying only we follow what is in quran and denies the hadiths and wants to adopt a way in between by following the number structure which is not proven by Quran or Hadiths. Forth part "those are the unbelievers in truth; and We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment" No comments. You can understand it... inshaAllah May Allah guide us all towards the correct path that He has chosen for us. Regards, A.Albruni

Dude, The answer to your question is... it depends.. You're talking about merely the 'technical methodology' about how the message are actually being delivered. And it's not important! So far the record of someone declaring to everyone that "he's a God messenger" can only be found within semitic culture (middle-east). While messenger has been and continously being sent to every corner of the world to DELIVER MESSAGE. e.g. Sidharta doesn't declare himself as "God's messenger", he just start teaching wisdom.. There are as well many figures who teaches "Wisdom and Truth" throughout the history without a 'declaration of his/her messengership' (and asking everyone to acknowledge them). There are as well many figures who teaches 'REVEALING MESSAGES' on many topics throughout the history without a 'declaration of his/her messengership' (and asking everyone to acknowledge them). For instance "Relativity Theory", "Quantum Physics", "Microbiology" etc.. For this type of messenger; we just label them as "Scientist". There are 'personal level messenger' as well which I mention on my previous post, usually sent to an individual to DELIVER A MESSAGE. And God's people will recognize the truth in the MESSAGE BEING DELIVERED, as TRUTH STANDS OUT CLEAR FROM ERROR. That's why God doesn't bother to put "Declaration Of Faith" in the Quran / Bible etc.. There shall be no compulsion in DIEN as TRUTH STANDS OUT CLEAR FROM ERROR. Anyone who rejects evil and believes in GOD has GRASPED THE STRONGEST BOND; one that never breaks. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient. (2256) God's revelation begins when you're first being born into this world, and ends when you die. The revelation a.k.a REVEALING MESSAGES are being sent to you through many channels and means. Some time you've recognize them, some time you've missed / ignore them. While 'the figures of messenger' a.k.a how the messages are being delivered.. IS NOT IMPORTANT. Salam / Peace First of all, dont compare me to Sidharta and all others you named... To them is their works and to me is mine...and to you is yours...weather they keep it hiden or declare their messengership publicly, or weather they believe they a messenger or teacher or not... to them is what they do... God knows what is said in the heavens and the Earth...And He will judge between His servants in what they dispute... While we talkin history, why dont you just roam the Earth and see what was the end of those before... Most of them denied the messengers that came to them who said " I am Gods messenger ." And they ridiculed them, and they said " you are not a messenger." And they said " If only a sign was sent down to him from His Lord! " And they said " crazy, has the reminder come to him from all of us" and they also said " Has God chosen him over all of us." yeah whatever And yes, had God sent it down to a forigner they would not have believed in him. It is a Quran in a clear Arabic...So that they may understand... hypno The more I read the Quran the more stronger I get and the more I ask God to grant me victory for what has been denied of me muscle ... And the more I read quran and pray and purify and teach, I am more inspired that I am Gods messenger... Am I goin crazy ??? Praise be to God, those who believe know the truth. jedi And truth does stand out clear from error... So I ask bring all your evidences and partners ( all those names you mentioned ) , be sure that it doesnt come against you. And then judge me. And dont hold back... jedi And whoever dont judge by what God has sent down, then these are the wicked > ... So I ask for refrences from the Quran or the previous Scriptures... eat God's revelation begins when you're first being born into this world, and ends when you die. The revelation a.k.a REVEALING MESSAGES are being sent to you through many channels and means. Some time you've recognize them, some time you've missed / ignore them. I agree wit the above. Who knows, mabey God is revealing a message through someone who claims to be Gods messenger??? hmm It may be a test for you rejecters... tempt Am I creating compultion in the deen because im Gods messeneger? Or by me claiming to be??? I do fear the warnings!!! & Peace Jafar, I agree with you. The section I am calling for is not for the people who won't bother to be acknowledged as messengers. The section I am calling for is for those messengers who are dying to be noticed and acknowledged as messengers. To them messengers, this is the MESSAGE that has to be delivered! I believe that their obsessive conduct to be acknowledged as messengers should be limited to one place and not brought up in each and every discussion all over the forum. Because, as you can see, they tend to abuse that easy accessibility that Free-minds is famous for. And as you can see also, there cannot be a dialogue with someone who is obsessed. So I want those "messengers" to have a place within Free-minds where they can feel happy and welcomed, and for those who are super interested in them to visit their section and have all the one way dialogues they crave. And at the same time get them out of the main road! peace lolz, u said dyin to be noticed and acknowledged as messengers. rotfl N e ways, this is an obvious lie! ! most of what u say... and you can keep your welcome... ! and if you turn away those who go meet their Lord dawn and dusk you would surely be of the wicked... !

I put more thought on this and I recalled of one of the verse about praying (du'a) in the Quran. AMAZINGLY Jesus's prayer structure is PERFECTLY ALIGNED with Quran Quran 1010 Their prayer (du'a) shall (begin) with Subhannaka Allahumma (Holy / Sanctified God) and their greeting shall be Salam (Peace) and they end their praeyer (du'a) with Alhamdu Lillahi Rabbi Al-Alamien (Glory Be To God, Lords of All Worlds) Begins With Recommended By Quran Subhannaka Allahumma (Holy / Sanctified God) Jesus's Prayer Our Father, which art in heaven, Holy (Aramaic Qadosh) be thy name (AramaicShemakh) Ends With Recommended By Quran Alhamdu Lillahi Rabbi Al-Alamien (Glory Be To God, Lords of All Worlds) Jesus's Prayer For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and THE GLORY, for ever and ever "That is, then, is how you should pray" ~Jesus, Matt 69 Yo Jesus!.. I agree with ya... This Jesus guy is certainly one cool dude!.. ;D Salam

Peace everyone, As far as I remember several of my articles on the main site are also posted in the forum. However, since there was no specific section for the site articles, I posted them under the topic where they most closely fit or under the General Issues section. I think that a quick solution is for the moderators to create an "Articles Feedback/Discussion" section and move those threads to the new section and add threads for each article not already discussed on the forum. Next, all that the Site Admin has to do is to provide a link at the bottom of each article to the appropriate thread in the "Articles Feedback/Discussion" section. In this section the ability to add new threads should be restricted. People should only be able to post replies to existing threads. Here are links to help the moderators start populating this section by moving those threads HOW DID IT COME TO THIS? Peace, Respectfully. Interesting thoughts, thanks. Keep them coming. Only God knows but i thought of this idea while i was on actual prostration. I was focused on glorifying God but then it hit me, i all of a sudden thought of the beats that will emerge and will tell the truth. Then i remembered how i was in Frisco and they took my prints and how prints are testifying against me. Skin will testify against us, huh? Peace.

Peace Tariq Ramadhan's book is very different then Lings. Lings has no regard for statements that might deter a non muslim from Islam. Ramadhans book is awesome. Tariqs bio of Muhammed focuses on certain aspects of Muhammed's life that can teach people of all faiths how to live more wholesome and spiritully satifsed lives. Also he shows how Muhammed was not a chavinist by giving examples of the radical reforms the prophet made in issue of women's rights. It shows how everything was decided by a democratic method. Muhammed he shows was a kind open minded a loving indivdual who helped turn the arabs from violent nomads into a civilition. It is packed with beutiful verses of the Quran. Compareing Lings bio with Ramadhan's is heresy. To Karen Armstrong's bio. The work is the best. I can not describe the works high qaulity. If I praise it to much you might think hyperbole. So just bye it. Lareb

peace to all thank you for all the replies, this desire thing is much clearer to me then before. but another thing came to my mind, http//free-minds.org/articles/history/ayman2.htm ok so i read this article and started thinking again this part is really interesting to me 'We can even test our understanding with any such "symptom", past or present. For example, sectarians today fantasize that the prophet can intercede on their behalf and can control who goes to heaven. Thus, one may think that they idolize the prophet. However, upon closer examination of the root cause of this symptom, one can see that they are in fact not idolizing the real prophet but they are idolizing an imagined prophet, i.e. a fantasy. So when they implore this fantasized prophet they are in fact serving nothing more than a fantasy. Another example is Jesus. What Christians actually idolize and serve is not Jesus but in fact is an imagined Jesus, i.e. a fantasy. In fact, you can test this understanding by applying it to all such symptoms of setting partners with The God and you would always get to the same fundamental root cause. It is also a fact that in all such tests, you would never get to the root cause as being reptilians/snakes as the Bible contends or ghosts as sectarian mythology contends.' the thing is, i fantasize a lot about this one girl, i saw her once and... "fell in love" with her, actually i fell in love in what i imagined her to be like, my image of her, and that imagination/fantasy grew with years. so i started worrying about, am i idolizing my fantasy? the bad thing is i do spend quite a lot of time fantasizing about her, yet i am fully aware that the actual person is nothing like the one in my head, but i still hang on to the fantasy for some reason. is that called idolizing? and how can i stop? i mean i don't want to idolize her or the fantasy, i just want to meet her, get to know her, see what she is like in reality, but everytime i see her i'm speachless, she takes my breath away... literally, it's hard to say anything. so i don't say a thing and later regret it and return to fantasizing. that worries me now, is that idolizing? am i idolizing/serving my fantasies/desires? Peace nerspi If i were in your position, my primary concern would be wether she would like or dislike me thinking about her in anyway. If she disliked the idea of me thinking about her then i think it would be morally wrong on my part as i have fantasized about her without her permission. peace

It is highly unlikely you will be able to pin it down to a specific word. As far as I'm aware the word "islam" comes from the verb "aslama", which can have several meanings. There has been some discussions in the past about the word "islam" and it's meaning. My understanding of the term "islam" is "self-surrender". I discussed it a little in a past thread. Izutsu says it comes from the verb "to give over".

Soof, thanks for the explanation. What surprised me was the story of Moses coming from the Mountain and finding his people worshipping a golden animal, and dropping the plates with the commandments. It just seems to be repeated in so many cultures. I'm not sure why you say the virgin birth was not stated in the Quran, when the verse clearly says "how can I be pregnant If I was not touched by a human being." Can it be clearer than that? Peace Show me which cultures. Peace

Please note, I did not say that free minds indeed harbors hypocrites, but asked a very valid question. There is a huge difference between accusing of something, and provoking an answer. I never said that. I simply pointed out the word that you used in the title of this thread and answered the question. Peace, dotty
