Peace Simple, When the quran was revealed - and there after the only law was that in the quran, yes? look at the law nowadays how complex it has become, in the UK in some areas you are forbidden to cut the trees even. to do this you have to have a planning approval you need counsel of other people or other peoples opinion needs to be considered and not doing so and cutting th trees can be in breach of the law. but, of course there are thousends of laws nowadays for nearly everything - which weren't' around when the quran was revealed. The design of galaxies and the cosmos and the atom is wise. The only unwise things come from humans. Some Muslims argue that it is referenced in the Quran about the necessity of having a leader to follow - as in signing up to someone who is carrying the torch. Can anyone shed any further light on this. Where in the Quran does it mention this - or otherwise what was the real context it was given in? Personal logic tells me that all humans are infallible and we should not feel that we need to follow someone but follow our own conscience. That being the meaning of following God alone. Minor correction, you mean fallible. Infallible means that they make no mistakes.

Many people also think murder is okay. if what many people think doesn't mean squat then how did you arrive at the conclusion that it is physical? simply based on your own understanding of the original text? I ask you again, when was the book written? based on my own personal knowledge or based on the claims of islamic historians? The pagan mythology of the Quran is not as pervasive as that in the Bible; however, the Quran often assumes the correctness of biblical narratives which themselves borrow or rely on pagan mythology. I really am not trying to prove this to anyone. I know what I see, and I would like to know how to reconcile this with my love for the Quran. But, as Evyon notes, all Abrahamic revelations are contingent....they incorporate elements of the host cultures. I am okay with this....as this appears to be the way that God works. God takes the individual or the culture where it is and works toward transformation. God does not cause one to jettison cultural ideas and values of necessity as these same values can be used as vehicles for transformation. My thoughts for now... Peter

salaams brother David, My husband has tried to discuss issues with hadiths, with sunni muslims..in the end i had to advise him to keep quiet..or he will end up shot!! Ok we live in the UK ..but if we were living in the middle east, i can imagine mobs gathering outside our home. It is so sad that this is the situation of islamic states, thank you brother David for summing up the way it is.. , and putting a knowing smile on our faces..we are not the only ones facing adversity!!

Peace Personally I would not waste my time and would say why look into these collections of ahadeeth to confirm something that is in the quran? Then I also note that some people use them to clarify some point in the quran which I believe to be a dangerous thing since the quran has clear currents of thought to which interpretations should be kept in line. You may find the experience of sifting through all of the ahadeeth a good experience and I would say keep doing what you are doing if it helps in your growth. Joe True, thank you for that. I've got the two major hadiths at home here; it isn't as though I'm a preacher or anything, but I find it good to have some sort of reference. With that being said, having understood how these were collected I tend to take what is written in them with a large grain of salt; a non-binding but a helpful guide. I tend to try and fingure things out myself. Like I said previously, I'm sure God won't send me to hell on the basis of a misunderstanding which at the time I thought I was correct on.

Peace, hmm well actually hadiths did exist before bukhari compiled them into a book. All he really did is collect hadiths that were written and orally transmitted and organised them into "sahih" he didn't make them up he just categorised them... He also claimed to have gone through 600,000 hadeeth, that would be one every 28 minutes (no rest or sleep). They didn't have cars back then either The thing is the hadeeth were never authorized by Muhammad and most importantly God. Not unless The messenger had an interest in being KILLED (6940-46). 1015 And when Our clear AYATS are recited to them, those who do not wish to meet Us said "Bring a Quran other than this, or change it!" Say "It is not for me to change it from my own accord, I merely follow what is inspired to me. I fear if I disobey my Lord the retribution of a great day!" Ask yourself this Why don't these people simply say 'give us a different ruling!' i.e. hadith? 17/73-76 also talks about this...

The woman claimed that the spirits told her about the future plans of the murderers where they planned to run.

Rather than searching for the true faith of the Prophets of God, it seems that all of the "religious Left" movements (whether liberal Judaism, Christianity, or Islam) tend to prioritize the values of the Secular West, and use those values to judge the veracity of their given texts. Hi Ya`aqov, What are the values of the secular west that you are talking about here? I am asking you this becouse freedom of speech, movement, believing/disbelieving, freedom of choice, expression, gender equality are viewed as western values which is not true. The above mentioned and other values are God given to every single human on earth, which at this point in time are more exercised in the west. I think that common sense rather than Secular west is the priority of most of the people in this forum when discussing divine revelations. Peace.

Peace all, Oh yeah this imam is tahir-ul-Qadiri. He was also being praised by my uncle and my cousin and i called him a kaafir for mentioning Muhammad's name along with GOD's in the way he does. On this my 17 yr old cousin ran out and slammed the door. That little f**cker goes to the discos, drinks and enjoys all western life regularly and yet you can see how easily hes influenced by these radicals. I also told my uncle that such type of imagery depiction exists in every religion like the miracle of virgin mary sprinkled onto a church or the pattern of Jesus on someones door. It proves nothing. JK- First of all "create" wouldnt be the right term since when we use the term "create" we mean that prior intelligence caused something to further arise. At the stage of infinite randomness, which by the way had to occur an infinite amount of "time" ago, there was no intelligence so nothing was created actually but one can say "came into being". And yes the quantum flux fluctuated and GOD was there but since this happened an infinite amount of "time" ago it is even technically correct to say GOD was always there. A bit complicated at first but i think gradually one should understand this concept. GOD Bless!

Peace, according to quran, we are submitters(in english) but people here feel ashamed to be called submitters for fear of being associating to the ICS, Tucson. But somehow they are not ashamed of calling themselves 'muslims' despite of the confusion that this surely generates, confusion that will put them in the same basket as those who condemn anti-hadith ideology, as those who condone terrorism, prophet-worship, etc It makes no sense that animals will be slaughtered in heaven, the description of heaven is purely symbolic, it is a dimension that our minds cannot understand, therefore God uses analogy to make us understand. I have never tasted caviar before, so unless you describe it to me in comparison with things i already tasted, i would not know. Why would i seek to know more on muhammad? Why him only?
