thanks for the welcome dave, it is i think detremental to islam that so many ignorant hadith are regarded as divine regulations. the quran accuses the jewish nation as a people who hindered many from the path of god and compares them to a donkey carrying a vast tome of writings, percieving them not. how are mainstream muslims any different now with all their diabolical laws based on these contrived hadith, fatwas etc? i dont see a difference.

Salam, Hi I was brought up in a non-religious family.My thoughts were those of an Atheist.Then I faced so many incidents in my life that I had to believe in God.One of my muslim friends gave me Quran to read.I read it but what I feel that only belief in God is sufficient for any person.No need to have belief in ,"divine books "and Prophets.It seems as the tyrants made a conspiracy against humanity to control them and created these books like Bible ,Quran etc.There is no proof of their authenticity ,there is no proof that some prophets really were sent for human guidance. Religion has in fact divided this world into different groups who are fighting with each other leading to manslaughter in the past as well as in the present. What do you think? One obstacle is when translators of the Quran do not translate the words islam and muslim. I think these words need to be translated. Hati

Salam everyone ) The story on my first post on this thread is not the same story as the old one that i wrote for over 8 months agoo. I wrote a new story that is now replaced with the old one. The reason for the deleting of the old one was because the old story was too long and had to much unrelevant stuff in it that had nothing to do with "how i came to god alone". It almost looked like a biography, rather than just a story of "how i came to god alone". The rest of the old story in post nr 2-5 will hopefully be deleted soon my the moderators. Peace, David

Since drinking alcohol was in the discussion...just wanna ask if the interpretation of the following ayat which talked about 'wine' does not contain alcohol ? .And from the fruits of the palm trees and the grapes you make wine and a good provision. In that is a sign for a people who comprehend. .Is the example of Paradise; that the righteous have been promised with rivers of pure water, and rivers of milk whose taste does not change, and rivers of wine that are delicious for the drinkers, and rivers of strained honey, and for them in it are all kinds of fruits, and a forgiveness from their Lord; like that of those who abide in the Fire, and are given to drink boiling water that cuts-up their intestines? Piece! And surely I fear my cousins after me, and my wife is barren, therefore grant me from Thyself an heir, What was she diagnosed with that made her barren? Piece.

Salam Agnostic, welcome welcome welcome Regarding the Quran issues... I think it's a test to us on how strong do we believe in God. I also once doubt about the authenticity of it. In Quran God had promised that it's their job to preserve it. So just believe in Him. I think the Quran that we have now is preserved already, any missing pages or surah's or verses is God will, only He knows what is better for us. Just believe in Him. And from what i see in Quran, the context is still there nothing to worry about. May God bless us. Peace handshake

Sister lava, here you find two verses from Quran to answer your question. If you read the verses carefully, you will find that the believers are those who are not proud and those that are humble. If you find this quality in your man to be, then go ahead; for they are the real believers in the Allah's eyes. If you respect who Allah respects then care two hoots for the socalled whole muslim society. Allah is sufficient for you as your soul Protector. Read the verse below carefully. 5.82 Certainly you will find the most violent of people in enmity for those who believe are the Jews and those who associate; and you will certainly find the nearest in friendship to the believers are those who say We are Christians; this is because there are priests and monks among them and because they do not behave proudly. The essence of the above verse is Those who believe are they that do not behave proudly Now the next verse, 2.62 muslims, jews, christians, sabians which includes all existing religious categories like hindus, buddhists and so on ... and among all these groups whoever do believe in righteousness and make themselves as good examples before others, they are the real believers and for them is the reward from Allah, the very Best. So forger the worldly people. Believe in Allah and Allah is Sufficient for the believers like you. You are no more hindu lava(nya), but a believer. Go ahead and assess for yourself while you assess your own self whether you are in the righteousness. Surely whether they are Jews, or Christians, or Muslims or the Sabians, whoever believes in Almighty and the Last day and does good,they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve. The essence of the above verse is You attach yourselves with any religiion but who Allah adjudge as His near ones are whoever believes in Almighty and the Last day and does good,they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.

Yes you should ask why ??? Why some Quran aloners think Quran is preserved and other think NOT at all ??? Why Some Quran aloners think ,2 prayers ,some think 3 prayers ,some think five prayers ?? WHy ? Why some Quran aloners have RK as Rasool while others not Why ?? Why Some Quran aloners think Rasools can come now while others think not ?? why ??? Why each of quran aloner is prostating in a different direction in prayers ?? Why ?? Why a musical congregation is called Hajj in Quran aloners ?? Why?? Why mathematics is more important than Quran for Quran aloners?? Err....I don't subscribe to be a Quran aloner but I do believe that the Quran was the Word of God, and the only message worth considering. Personally, I don't subscribe to a sect. I'm just a muslim. And muslims have diversified opinions on how to practice the religion.
