Ask God... He will give you the answer.. Yet sometimes, His answer is not suitable to your liking and / or assumption... Sometimes "God" will test one's intelligence too...

I am happy to find this site. I was deeply religious all my life which is quite strange in this culture (am dutch). My experiences with christianity in youth were disastrous . Later i discovered that this was only due to the people, and the institute, but that God does exist and is above everything.I read many books about religion and prayed alone. I even became interested in new age meditation but those that i found were all after money and power, and their meditation methods all of them were dangerous. You will find out that God has no relation with any of the organized religion / tradition or any holy books. Being religious doesn't necessarily mean being close to God and vice versa... Be humble and you will be 'close' to God.. metaphorically speaking.. as God is actually here there and everywhere.. Meditation by itself is a good technique for reflection and obtaining peace within yourselves.. which actually should be your ultimate goal.. Human abuse of anything for their own selfish benefits is quite common to be found within any religion, I'm not so surprised there... welcome welcome

Hi, I started developing my knowledge of Islam and I seem to be discovering something new every day. This thing I am battling with at the minute is contact prayer. What does it mean? should I be doing it? Does the quran actually advocate the ritual prayer? ETC. This all started 10 years ago when I was very ignorant and my friend point out a fact about halal meat. The common misconception about meat that it has to be slaughtered a particular way invoking Allah's name at the time of the slaughter etc. Since then, I feel like I've taken the red pill (like in the matrix) and everything has been a lie! I'd love to use this forum to discuss and discover for myself what Islam means to me. welcome Religion is all about turning untested belief into unshakable truth through the power of institutions and the passage of time. The first step that anyone took which mostly resulted in losing their own religion is starting to think, contemplate and validate their own religion. Yet the vast majority didn't even bothered to do that.

The question is is a TRUE Christian welcome here? What i've studied of the Qur'an tells me i am one of the Kitabi and as a true believer, scholar and disciple of the Prophet Isa/Jesus i am (by definition) Muslim. However, i just emailed someone calling himself "quaranist" and was attacked and quizzed just like mushrik Moroccans have been doing (both in the Netherlands and in Morocco); asking me if i do salat and the like. I know the Hadithi think 'christians' are their enemies and i realize Moroccans/Arabs/Immazighen can be rascist (just like people all over the world are), so can i expect anything different here? Frankly, i'm not too interested in more opinions people have on religion. I've paid my dues and studied the Bible far better than most. It taught me many things, one of the most important being that 99% of people calling themselves "christian" are just about the opposite of what a Christian might be expected to be. Now it seems Muslims, and perhaps quoranists too , demand that i spend ANOTHER bunch of years studying scripture before they'll even talk to me. However, it is my experience that even then they'll probably still hate me because i'm caucasian and Christian... So, are people here like "Welcome all People of the Book!" or is it more like "Christians are Muslim-wannabes who need to get with the programme!" Brother, all praise due to God, Lord of the worlds. To hear from you that you are willing to become a student of the Messiah. We need to unite, and only the word of God can unite us. We shouldn't follow false teachings, but we shouldn't deny the True Scriptures like the Torah, Psalms, Gospel and Quran etc. also. Only our Lord can guide us brother. He alone can Guide. He knows what is inside our hearts. Remember the quran what it said in 6115. Remember the Gospel in Matthew 713? So may the Lord guide the Children of Adam. I've visited different sites, different forums, and have read some of two different Qur'an translation to English, but I get so put off by so many things in the Qur'an, hadiths, and opinions/thoughts of other Muslims I've encountered online. What I've read has been so judgemental towards people who are not a cookie cutter version Muslim; that is someone who's straight, male, prays 5x a day, and is completely perfect and sinless. I get so confused, eventually I give up. I just want to have open debate and dialogue. I want to discuss and think. I don't want to feel like God is this wrathful, vengeful being who punishes you for everything little thing you do "wrong". Are you Dutch? Who told you that we should pray 5 times a day? Did the Quran? I doubt so.

Peace Everyone, I've been roaming the website for a few years now actually. I've enjoyed so many topics and views. It has certainly been a blessing. I'm utterly bummed out that there is no mosque available to me that does not compromise the Deen. It's been over 10 years since I've been a part of a religious center and I do miss aspects of it. I desire most of all to be around like minded people who want to make a positive difference in the world. So if you're close to Philadelphia (I'm in Wilmington) I'd love to meet you! Question- Why are there only like one or two mosque that claim to uphold the Quran only (or perhaps I'm wrong)? How come they aren't springing up all over the country? The past two months have been challenging for me. I was engaged to marry an amazing Christian woman whom I truly loved. I felt totally secure in the relationship. She posted a detailed, beautiful post about me (us) that brought so many of her family and friends to tears (including my mother). It marked 6 months of being together. She expressed that it was the "most amazing experience of her life". Yet, less than 3 weeks later, she was giving me an ultimatum to, "Fully accept Christ or we can't be together". For the following 5-7 days I did my best to reason with her to no avail. She said that God had called her into His ministry and that I had a choice to make. She apologized for letting the relationship go on as long as it did while knowing in her heart of hearts that our religious difference didn't sit well with her. We prayed together each night (we would alternate who prays), but she never added Christ to the prayer out of respect for my beliefs (I never asked her do that-I simply shared my views with her). Said she had recently asked God for forgiveness for not including Christ in our prayers. Anyway, this is the 2nd thing I'm bummed out about Peace/ Love to all The Messiah warned already for Synagogues. Read the Gospel. We learn from the Quran that the Gospel is Light and Guidance. What we also learn from the Gospel is to go to our room, and close the door, and pray there in private to God. Anyways, i have never, ever, seen a mosque that is free from "shirk". And the point is, we shouldn't forget about the Tabernacle.
