Now, in 2184 "alladhina yuqnahu" could, in my current understanding mean only one of several things. Those who are ill or travelling substitute other days AND if they are able to feed a poor person. Those who are ill or travelling and find it difficult to substitute other days can feed a poor person. Beyond the people who are ill or travelling there is a group that finds it difficult to carry out the fast and they are allowed to substitute feeding a poor person because fasting is always difficult for them, irrespective of the specific time. The text of languages is typically divided into three categories Word Phrase Sentence And "reading" means to identify the words and their relationships to know the meanings of the text. You seem following the translations and deriving meanings merely by reading individual words. All three divions first need to be identified to know the thought contained in the text. One of the simplest sentence is made confusing by going only in the sequence of the words from right to left. The sentence is inverted nominal sentence-the last three words are the subject-topic of discussion and the first words are relating to the elided predicate being more than obvious from the subject. "And mind it that compensatory feeding a destitute is incumbent upon those who have the strength to bear that-the disease or journey for availing of exception. ". The subsequent advice makes it crystal clear that in such bearable situations the exception should better not be availed even on feeding a person. Fasting should be preferred instead of availing the relaxation. "Therefore, whoever made himself adopt a better course, thereat that is much benefiting for him. And remember that should you observe fasting it would be far better for you people, if you people have understood/comprehended it" .

Self imposed blindness is absolute blindness. See the contradiction in the two quotes. Brother Mazhar, my objective is neither to get involved in vain arguments, nor to force any body to change their beliefs. I am only in search of truth based upon facts, reason and logic. Why do you feel there is a contradiction in my statements. Have not us, Muslims created a deity out of Quranic text of which was written and started to pronounce as for easy of both writting and speaking. As one would get sick and tired of sying whole sentence again and again. However, we created a conceptual deity out of and started to worship by number of rituals. If I am contradicting myself? Then please tell me, what all 5 pillars of Islam are for? are these not meant to worship this conceptual/imaginary deity of ?

Salam Answer from an other forum about this question With respect, the QXP rendition of 1759 is grossly inaccurate and misleading. The restriction particle 'illa' (except) is present and seals the interpretation along with the negative particle 'ma' in wama (not). ?And nothing stopped us ?EXCEPT?. If I say 'nothing' stopped me 'EXCEPT' that XYZ denied them, I am affirming my actions of restraint. Therefore in 1759, God is clearly giving the reason why he stopped something. There is absolutely no way out of this. The Quran could have clearly said that we have not stopped sending signs - full stop! To say that the signs would continue despite XYZ (people of old) denying them is with respect, a misrepresentation of the context. ?illa? does not mean ?even though? as the QXP renders it ? This is a complete opposite meaning of the Arabic text. For example, Lailla ha illa huwa (31 does not mean - No Deity even though God. It means 'except' God and the negative particle 'ma' needs to be read with the restriction particle 'illa' (except), to derive the full meaning of overall 'restraint' given the context of the verse. As I'm sure you will appreciate, natives derive the full meaning of a sentence and not by a conscious breakdown of individual syntax and part scrutiny of synctactics. It is what is meant by the overall sentence which is important. Another way of reading this would be that 'we did not stop X Y Z' EXCEPT 'illa' (the reason we did) because ancients denied this. This is similar to 'There is No God' except . The reason for the exception (illa) is stated i.e. that 'Allah' exists. If we just read 'No God' without the exception (illa), then the sentence would be understood as 'There is no God' . Understanding the 'exception' (illa) is important. My theological contention would also be that If such 'signs' were to continue, then why were they not given to Prophet Muhammad when the disbelievers kept asking for it? And where did in the Quran, the author claimed "What I wrote here is a miracle... you should consider this as miracle.. OR ELSE!!".. Salaam, I agree with Jafar on this. AlQuraan itself is nothing, has no value, except to make your path to your Lord, God through it. Unfortunately, people do give much importance to so many things that Allah has created instead of giving WHOLE importance to HIM ALONE. In such case how we are different from others who pray stones, statues, animals, sun, etc. etc. If not 100% also, are we not following them at least some percent? May Allah keep us away from all kinds of Shirk. May Allah increase us in knowledge and guide us to His true path pr mmKhan

I agree with Huruf above here in that it is not simply telling us to obey our parents but is rather telling us to be good and kind to them. The second part is that if they try to get you to associate partners is what you should never obey. One other thing I wanna point out is how the Quran uses the word "obey". Obey as the Quran states usually involves "belief" as evident here in 298 with how obeying their command to associate partners means you believe them in that there are others who have the right to have a divine association. or "And if you obey the majority of those on Earth they will lead you away from God's path; that is because they follow conjecture, and that is because they only guess." (6116) Here also shows that it is belief based as leading one astray based on guesswork is likely pointing to someone who follows a false belief. and of course "And do not eat from that which God's name has not been mentioned, for it is vile. And the devils they inspire their supporters to argue with you; and if you obey them, then you have set up partners."(6121) Here it states if one regularly eats it, they are simply doing a sin as it calls it "fisq" (vile) and then states if we "obey" them and eat it then we have associated partners, which would likely point to them believing them as if they were lawmakers alongside God that it is okay to eat it as in it isn't haram based on what they said. Thus obey in the end seems to more or less always involve belief and thus parents are never said to be "obeyed" here and only said to be respected Course I may be wrong on the "obey" part and if I am then may God forgive me. As for the parents part I am confident in stating that it never stated to obey them.

There should not be any previous scriptures. If theory about any previous scriptures is true than there can not be a Rabb. There likely was and is only one book that can be called a scripture. This is based upon limited and part understanding of Quranic text and not its translation. As its current translation in most part is similar to so called previous scripture. The Bible is a book about Jesus and not what Jesus might have said or brought. Additionally, the information even about Jesus contained in the Bible could be surmised on a couple 4x4 cards. Rest of it consists of stories and fables. This is a fact about gospels. Other books that constitute Bible even do not claim to be related to Jesus. Same holds for Old testament.

If that is the case then why the following Prophets desired to be one of the Muslimeen Prophet Noah (pbuh) asks for no reward from his people, he states that he is one of the Muslimeen (1072) Prophet Solomon's (pbuh) letter to Sheba requesting her in the name of the Lord to abandon her blasphemy and for her to surrender with her people and become one of the Muslimeen (2731) Prophet Solomon (pbuh) acknowledged his own state as being one of those of the 'Muslimeen' (2742) All but one house from the people of Prophet Lot (pbuh) submitted to God (Muslimeen) (5136) Prophet Abraham (pbuh) was one who submitted to His Lord (Musliman) (367) Disciples of Prophet Jesus (pbuh) confirm that they submit to God (Muslimoon) (352) Prophet Joseph (pbuh) prays to his Lord to die as one who is a 'Musliman' (12101) Prophet Jacob's (pbuh) children at the point of his death professed that they submit to God (Muslimoon) (2133). Even the magicians of Pharaoh called themselves muslims once they had seen the signs given to Prophet Moses (pbuh) (7126)

i do not agree. In our arabic in these days at least, masculin form is directed to both females and males while female form is directed to females exclusively. Hence it can for obvious reasons be assumed, that when quran says ''you'' it means the reader, regardless of whether the reader is a female or male. Peace Salaam, I think you are referring to second person male plural form. Second person in male plural form refers to either a group of males only, or a group of both male and female. It is also used to address one individual, be it male or female, as a formal speech to show a sign of respect. I have not come across any argument that shows that second person male singular form applies to a singular female. Had the Qur'aan intended the "you" to be a reader in general, I am of the opinion that it will use male plural form. I.e. "kum" instead of "ka". Salaam.
