Right. The neuron-concept association (the firing of a neuron in response to a concept) appears to be a learned one, which is why I think it might be possible to unlearn it. Poisoning? How about washing? IFB Maybe the neuron or the concept doesn't die, only the association dissolves. Of course, it is possible that the association might be remade, or a new association formed, at a later date.

The implication here is that there is a natural difference in the brains of men compared to women. However where is the evidence for this? Taking the example given, how do we know that the reaction to a picture of a smiling toddler is not merely due to women generally being given a greater role in childcare than men are? How do we know it isn't about what is expected of us rather than what we can deliver? Would it make any difference if the smiling toddler was standing between goalposts with a football at his feet? Or how about if the smiling toddler was climbing at the top of a tall tree? I suggest that might give the very reverse result! The pictures would have to be very carefully selected and smiling toddlers are not neutral. In any case it was a very small sample of people. Good point

Yes, the video is much more to the point than the text! It's very clear stuff. When people have casual sex, their hormones are saying "Great, a partner I have have and raise children with!" but their minds are saying "Great, another notch in the belt, let's do this and move on". It's like a kind of schizophrenia. All that surprises me is that it is taking so long for them pin down these affects. It just shows how much harder scientists find it to understand human beings than our natural environment.

I have actually heard a little about that model, but as far as I know it seems to have some major holes and a general lack of details and predictions. It for example doesn't have a satisfactory explanation for the background radiation, but if it could develop and get some aspects testified then we'll see if it'll become a valid view. I am no physicist really but I trust that it will be either falsified or validated eventually. We will have to wait and see. They seem to have a strong case as most of the observations could be easily conducted in a lab. But as you see until it gathers universal acceptance what ever we say is hopeless as we are not involved in the research directly. Peace Hope

Selam Totally agree with you, thats why when their calculations did not add up they try to fit their calculations in with unknowns which was effecting the calculations rather than reject the theory and go back to the blackboard. Peace Hope Well I'm not sure exactly which calculations you are referring to however the big bang theory and mainstream cosmology have made predictions which have later been shown to be observable in contrast to plasma cosmology which has not come up with any predictions. Most notably are the results from the COBE (Cosmic Background Explorer) mission. What yopu write reminds me of Einstein's blunder in adding an unknown to make the universe a steady state one as he couldn't imagine it was really expanding. The currently accepted theory of the Big Bang, the role of gravitation, dark matter etc. is simply the best explanation for the observable properties of the universe among all available alternatives including plasma cosmology.

My personal opinion is that this life is a dream; I think when we die we "wake up" to reality. It's certainly possible. peace peace peace I think of this life as an illusion. Sometimes I'd like to think that this life is just somebody else's dream. I didn't read the article - too long.
