Rami, I love how you make it sound as if the whole cosmological community is in some sort of uproar or something. If it is proper proof, then the current theories will be modified to make it fit. I'd like to see the other side of the arguement to the massive copy-pasta you just pulled. rotfl Paradigm shifts don't come that easily.

Don't the Chrsitains believe that the world will end 2012 too? I remember when everyone said that the world will end the year 2000, then when 2000 came they said the calendar started from the year 1AD so it will end 2001 And now its 2012? laugh This is an article I wrote for our local paper two months ago We keep hearing stories on TV, in the newspapers, in the bar (who me? In a bar? Never! Well, ok, I?m in one now) about the end of the world ? end of time ? end of civilisation ? etc on 21st December 2012. On that date the Mayan calendar comes to an end, Nostradamus predicted catastrophe, even some religions get in on the act. But all these predictions depend on your own interpretation of what is written. So what, if any, is the significance of the date? 21st December is, of course the winter solstice. The day when the northern hemisphere of the Earth is furthest away from the sun, the shortest day. It is also the last day mentioned in the Mayan calendar written thousands of years ago. Also a date mentioned by Nostradamus for (depending on how you read it) a large meteor will strike the Earth or world war 3 will start. Is there any scientific evidence for any of this? Well yes and no! It is predicted that the major planets of the solar system (not the dwarf planet Pluto ? sorry Pluto, you do your own thing mate) will line up. The Sun will also line up with the centre of our Galaxy. What difference will this make? No one knows, many theories but no facts, hasn?t happened since people have walked this Earth (as far as we know) ? and it doesn?t end there. Sunspot activity will be at its height. Every 300,000 years or so the magnetic field of the Earth collapses and reverses polarity, the magnetic north becomes south and vice-versa. Well what will that do? And how do we know when it will happen? The magnetic field of the Earth has been getting weaker and weaker over the past few years, signalling an imminent polarity shift. Scientists believe that the magnetic field will be dangerously low by 2012 allowing the solar winds to penetrate to the surface of the Earth, remember that the magnetic field protects us from these deadly rays, especially during high sunspot activity. So what causes sunspots? Well the Earth has a solid iron inner core surrounded by a very hot liquid metal and rock outer core; the friction (and other things) causes a single magnetic field to be produced. The Sun on the other hand is gas, with many boundaries between the layers of gas causing many different magnetic fields that travel around the Sun in all directions. The clash of these fields is what causes the sunspots, solar flares and solar winds etc. The Sun is a massive nuclear reactor causing millions of tons of Hydrogen to be fused together to form millions of tons of helium every single day releasing massive amounts of energy in the form of heat and radiation. It is the Earth?s magnetic field that deflects this radiation away from the surface of the Earth and off into space. So is this the end of the world as we know it? Nah! Remember all the predictions from scientists and other experts regarding the year 2000 (y2k)? The end of computers, aircraft falling out of the sky, satellites crashing to Earth, the end of civilisation as we know it, all sorts of catastrophes. Did it happen? No, of course it didn?t. We have predictions of the end of the world or civilisation almost every 10 years ? it hasn?t happened yet so why should it happen in 2012? Even if it did, is there anything we can do about it? Nope, so why worry about it? There are people that think it is the end of the world every time there is an election. Maybe they are right, who knows? As with elections, whatever the outcome, life goes on, as it will after 2012. I am now going to make a prediction- We will wake up on 22nd December 2012, the Sun will rise as usual, the Earth will still be here as will most of us and we will wonder what all the fuss was about and look forward to Christmas (or Hanukah). Sometime in the future, they will discover a Mayan calendar that continues from the 22nd December. Someone will reinterpret Nostradamus and discover he didn?t mean that at all and scientists will say ?Oh no, we didn?t say it would be the end?. If I am right we will all know. If I am wrong, then there will be no one left to tell me so! Except maybe two people trying to run for president saying that it will be the end of the world if their opponent wins.

Of course it is. Even Darwin admitted he couldn't explain many things with evolution Ofcourse he couldnt, evolutionary theory doesnt rest upon Darwin's work, that was over 200 years ago. There were tons of things he got wrong, but modern atomic theory isnt wrong because Niels Bohr was wrong about things in the 20th century! We've made advancements in leaps and bounds in areas like genetics. Genetics itself is a proof, among others, of evolution. The fact is that evolution took place. The theory attempts to explain how it occured. Similar to how the fact is that atoms exist, the theory attempts to explain how they work.

Peace, Respectfully. It would be beneficial for all humans if we could enter the black hole, pass through and then make contact with earth from the other side. Of course, once you're in - you are in f o r e v e r. Time is so beautiful and black hole, well, isn't. Peace.

This is a difficult question to answer without using a lot of complicated mathematics. It would seem from calculations that the universe is finite. If you calculate the acceleration and expansion since the big bang, then it is finite, it is still expanding at a faster rate than ever. But it is so large (from our perspective) that it may as well be infinite as we still cannot see the edge. Even if we could see the edge, by the time the light from there reaches us, the universe would be more than twice the size. Well said.

peace why do you say that? what you're describing is travel with our physical bodies, why, we're gonna lose them after a few decades anyway, lets focus on our spiritual side, our soul, part of us that is eternal. that way we can experience more, travel great distances, reach our highest potential... there's so much out there man, it'd be a shame if we didn't (even try to) see it. Peace, Respectfully. And how will you land on a psysical object such as a planet when you don't have a psysical entity? How can a soul go over there and land? Wouldn't it sink? Maybe you should ask scriptwriter of the Ghost .... jedi Glory be to our God. Peace.

peace well ok i meant similar because it seemed like this reincarnation - soul going from body to body on this here earth... in your article - soul going from body to body from earth in one universe to the earth in the next universe. i just assume we'll have bodies thee like this as i read the next universe would form just like this one. ok that stop existing part is sad (and scary) ( well i'm iterested in what kind of this new universe will be like, like what kind of environment? also, do you then support the theory of previous universes?

Peace "liquidharma", Okay, I've just got to ask. Jonny_k, why do you put quotation marks around everybody's names, and why do you finish every post saying God Bless!? JK- I put ppls IDs in quotes so that IT STANDS OUT and one can easily see who is being addressed. It's not meant to put the person's ID in a bad light by any means if you meant that. As for me ending every post with "GOD Bless" that is a habbit ive adopted since the very beginning when i first posted on any forum where i discuss religious/deen issues. I belevie it's a good habbit to remember GOD this way too and see no problem with it whatseover. GOD Bless!

Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters, Quran is the messsage of our Almighty GOD. Quran is not the science book, nor mathematics, nor history, nor economics and etc. BUT, Quran is the book of guidance and reference in our daily lives, be they scientists, politicians, businessmen, teachers, film directors, comedians and even the sweepers on the street. This means that Quran is the miracle forever till day of Qiyamah. Yes, muslims centuries before were great scientists, mathematicians. Why? Because they not only read Quran, but doing research in Quran. They put Quran above everything else. Sadly nowadays, millions of Muslims read Quran ... only READ without bothering what's the meaning. They read Quran only during certain ritual times. We should use and research Quran in the science lab. Sadly most Muslims knew little bit of information in Quran, what they know is just heaven and hell in limited terms, married four wives(???), kill the enemy in the name of GOD, the beauty of the people in the paradise and other things that sometimes illogical to the Quran. Sadly, muslims were far behinds others in terms of science and technology. That's why we are very weak now. Others dare to bomb and explode muslims right in front of us and in our TV news, but where are we? Because we cannot even manufatured our own aerospace technologies not even our our own software engineering and satellite technologies. Actually we have thousands of brilliant muslim scientists, but where are their position now in regards to the Quran? What I mean is that not to create nuclear bomb to bomb other nations, BUT we contribute our own quran knowledge to the world. We just can't be proud of our Muslim scientists centuries before. That are the things of the past. We must do something now. Rich muslim countires should have their own world class science and mathematics research lab, world class astronomical observatories, world class supercomputers, world class software engineers, world class film production not just world class buildings and sky scrapers....all of them without too depending on other nations. It's not wrong for us to do science research with non-muslims , but convey to them the uniqueness of science and quran in relations to the results in lab or supercomputer, for example. Wassalam.

Assaalamualaikum, In my younger days (age 45 now), we have been taught of heaven and hell. Adam and Eve ware driven out of heaven. They both eat apple. Qiyamah is the destruction of the universe. Based on theory is it true that our universe is expanding or static? I think our whole universe were created at one time and the nature of our universe are moving in parallel not expanding nor static. Qiyamah is not happening in sequence, but in seconds or snapshot in time, where all the things in the universe explode all together and after that the new universe, be they earth or planets will appear. At that time no positve or negative, everthing is neutral. We will not became an old man or woman. Everything are stable in nature. Actually the hell is the huge sun or star roaring every seconds. This is where for those who don't believe in GOD will reside there forever in form of stones. Why human being become stones? Because during on Planet Earth, they failed to become true human beings, so GOD turn them into stones and reside in the hell or big roaring stars forever and their soul will cry forever. Heaven during Adam's time is not the Heaven after qiyamah. We must remember that Adam is not the first man on this universe but the first man on Planet Earth. There are thousand of Adams before Prophet Adam. Thousands of years ago in the higher level of the universe, GOD said, He will appoint Adam as the Khalifah or on the Planet Earth. This shows that Adam is matured enough to manage the Planet Earth. When he is matured enough, we understand that he must obey GOD's law. What happen is that, he don't obey GOD's instruction that is don't eat the khuldi tree. Actually this khuldi tree is not a tree but act of sex. That's why in the Quran, when Adam and Eve(??) peform sex, they have no clothes on. So, GOD instruct both Adam and Eve to make a million kilometer journey to Planet Earth and live on Planet Earth and find food and know how to live by themselves. Before this they are staying on Planet Muntaha or Sidratul Muntaha (or tenth planet or Planet X) at the edge of our Solar System. On the night of Israk Mikraj, this planet Muntaha is where our prophet Muhahammad had see this beautiful and huge greenish planet. Remember the buraq is not the bird, but the very highly sophisticated aerospace technology as fast as lightning. Why I said Adam is not the first man in the universe is that why the Angels complained to GOD of Adam appointed as the ruler of Planet Earth, meaning that the Angles have seen other men fought and killed each other somewhere else in the universe. Maybe my opinion is quite strange enough for most muslims, but we must try to dig deeper in the meaning of Quran. Whether believe or not, does'nt matter. I just like to swim in the deep oceans of the mystery of Quran to find truth. Wassalam.
