What is the nature of God?

Salaam! Whether to say - 'Allah is one' is correct? Which of the vereses in Al-Quran substantiate the statement? I see Surah-Ikhlas (1121), wherein it is said - "Qul huwa Allahu ahadun". But not sure whether 'Ahadun' can be construed as 'one'? Sorry, what exactly is your problem? You are bothered it didn't say 3? What can only be One? What can truly only ever be One is what is Allah, its a map to help you understand what Allah is perhaps, will you follow it?

Top 10 Intellectual reasons, why I believe in God/A Higher Being So I came across a post of "Reasons to believe in God", and honestly, It wasn't convincing enough for me, even though I myself believe in God. So I went off on my own and compiled my own intellectual reasons, which I personally believe hold more ground and basis for a belief in God. Nowadays, it is not far-fetched to grasp the idea that some Higher being can create species, why? because we humans have the same power; the power to create and genetically modify a specie and change it to our liking (Keeping in mind that we only have had this knowledge for a little more than 50 years, Imagine what would a thousand years worth of knowledge of genetic modification could bring about...) "We have created you, if you only you could believe! Have you noted the semen you produce? Did you create it, or did we?" ( Quran 5657-9) Reason #2) The Formation of the Universe It is now a held fact that the Universe began from a single point, and exploded into the Big Bang, continuing to expand over time. In the Scriptures, We see this Entity telling us how it created the Universe and how will it end itThe Big Bang?Do those who unbelieve (In God) not realize that the heavens and the earth used to be one solid mass that we Exploded into existence? And from water we made all living things. Would they (now) believe? (Quran 2130) -The Gaseous state of the universe/neubulas produce Stars and planets "He turned to the sky, when it was still gas, and proclaimed to it, and to the earth, "Come into existence!..." (Quran 4111) -Expansion of the Universe "We constructed the sky with our hands, and we will continue to expand it" (Quran 5147)"It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in." Who is this Dark, unseen energy? "God is the One who holds the heavens and the earth, lest they vanish. If anyone else is to hold them, they will most certainly vanish. He is Clement, Forgiving." (Quran 3541) " He is the One who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in its own orbit. (Quran 2133) "Do they not see the birds committed to fly in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up in the air except God. This should be proof for people who believe." (Quran 1679) Reason #4) The formation of planetary systems -Gaseos neubulas produce Stars and planets "He turned to the sky, when it was still gas, and proclaimed to it, and to the earth, "Come into existence!..." (Quran 4111) -The sun gives shining light, not the moon "He designed the moon therein to be a light, and placed the sun to be a shining lamp." (7115) 'God created seven layers of sky and the same for the earth. The commands flow among them. This is to let you know that God is Omnipotent, and that God is fully aware of all things? (6512)... -Air thins in Upper Atmospheres "... He renders his chest intolerant and straitened, like one who climbs towards the sky..." (Quran 6125) -Ozone layer/Electro-Magnetic Field ?We made the sky a preserved and protected roof yet still they turn away from Our Signs.?(Quran 2132) Reason #7) The Formation of Rain & Water "Have you noted the water you drink? Did you send it down from the clouds, or did we? If we wish, we can make it salty. You should be thankful! (Quran 5669-70) "God is the One who sends the winds, to stir up clouds, to be spread throughout the sky in accordance with His will. Then we developed the drop into a hanging (embryo), then developed the hanging (embryo) into a bite-size (fetus), then created the bite-size (fetus) into bones, then covered the bones with flesh. We thus produce a new creature. Blessed is God, the Best Creator! (Quran 2313-14) -The Husband semen determines the baby?s gender ?He is the One who created the two kinds, male and female, from a tiny drop of semen? (5345) "We have created you, if you could only believe; Have you noted the semen that you produce? Did you create it, or did we?" (Qurann 5657-9) -Finger Prints "Does the human being think that we will not reconstruct his bones? Yes indeed; we are able to reconstruct his very own finger tip." (Quran 753-4) Reason #9) Origins of Life and life products "God created every living creature from water. Some of them walk on their bellies, some walk on two legs, and some walk on four. God creates whatever He wills. God is Omnipotent." (2445) -Methods of pro-creation "Glory be to the One who created all kinds of plants from the earth, as well as themselves, and other creations that they do not even know." (3636) Honey originates from bees? stomachs ?Your Lord inspired the bee; build homes in mountains and trees and in (hives) they build for you. Then eat from all the fruits, following the design of your Lord, precisely. From their bellies comes a drink of different colors, wherein there is healing for the people. This should be proof for people who reflect? (Quran 1668-69) Origins of Milk "In the livestock there is a lesson for you we provide you with a drink from their bellies. From the midst of digested food and blood, you get pure milk, delicious for the drinkers. (Quran 1666) Reason #10) Fine tuning of the Universe, Evolution, Natural Selection, and Phi ratio "God created seven universes in layers. You do not see any imperfection in the creation of God. Keep looking; do you see any flaw? Look again and again, your sight will return to you dazzled and exhausted!" (Quran 674) "Do you not realize that God sends down from the sky water, whereby we produce fruits of various colors? Even the mountains have different colors; the peaks are white, or red, or some other color... Also, the people, the animals, and the livestock come in various colors. This is why the people who truly reverence God are those who are knowledgeable. God is The Almighty, Forgiving. (Quran 3527-2 "God created every living creature from water. Some of them walk on their bellies, some walk on two legs, and some walk on four. God creates whatever He wills. God is Omnipotent. (Quran 2445) "They can never fathom the greatness of God. The whole earth is within His fist on the Day of Resurrection. In fact, the universes are folded within His right hand.* Be He glorified; He is much too high above needing any partners. (3967) Really terrible reasons to believe in God. No way. Such things prove nothing regarding God or the Qur'an. There can be many other possibilities and explanations. There are certain clear reasons which both give a reason to believe in God and explain what God is exactly. None of these things mentioned rule out people imagining some bearded man in the sky, they should "Believe" in "Nothing".

I never found satisfaction in any of that, only misery after misery. Let me tell you another story Father was a criminal in jail, who re-married my mother, they had sex, part of me shot out and struggled against my brothers, THEY ALL STRUGGLED AND THEY ALL DIED, ALL OF THEM, they didn't make it, only I made it, carrying the Sex of Male, and I fought and struggled my way into the egg. I was not satisfied, because I did not remain in such a state. Rather, I grew, and I struggled more, and filled my mother's womb. I was born with my eyes opened and my mother thought to herself "why doesn't he smile? maybe he doesn't love me?" Growing up, games never pleased me. Every girl I've dealt with has betrayed me and traumatized me severely. All the careers disrupted and my education, with illness and other chaos, with no one helping me. Like a sperm, I continue to struggle, my brothers, they continue to die. Who is resting but the dead? I survive on less than 250 a month due to the high bills. I have barely any food, and my fridge is empty. I have no property, even what property my family has is in ruins. My apartment, rented, is also in need of some cleaning, which I will do, like a sperm wiggling and grinding. Haha oh wow I didn't expect the ending to be good! Yes! I do know about NOTHING. That is my only satisfaction! Good ending! The rest is filth!

When asking about proving God scientifically we first need to be clear on what would constitute proof. How do we know when have reached the proof? This is also closely linked to our image of God. I'd say that mostly, absence of or failure to prove God, is a sign of a faulty image of God. The problem is our image and expectations. The problem is not proving God. God is evident. There! See?

"Saying "God does not rely on chance" does not mean anything if the implications of what is being said is "God relies on chance"." How is God relying on "chance" if the actual direction of a persons life is determined by God and not by mans decisions? "If anyone says "it can go this way or that way, people have a choice of two possibilities and what they choose is not determined by God" " You are misunderstanding me ... In my example a man is confronted with a choice to either steal millions or not steal millions ... he chooses to steal millions thinking that his decision will guide the next trajectory of his life. THAT point of decision making (I believe) has been given to a mans own discretion. If you say that God cannot allow a man to decide, then you think that Gods abilities have limits. God may give and he may take whatever he wants. Now ... If that mans future was determined on the actions that this man took, then he may well become a millionaire and live a great life. But whether he lives the life of a millionaire or is caught by the authorities and spends his life in jail is all dependent on God. The only thing this man could have control over was his decision at that 'point in time'. He does not control its outcome. ""Never any choice had they". Please quote the verse and we can discuss. "That is not to say that in your life you won't be faced with choices, and whatever you end up choosing it is actually Allah choosing for you, and that does not mean it is necessarily good for you either, Allah may intend you harm." As per you, if someone slaughters a family, we should let them walk free, because .... hey, its not you doing it, its actually God, so no worries. I dont get it why should God either Trancendent or Immanent. Do you have any other definition rather than on my dictionary? Each time I thought my consicousness was God's part, there is something bothering me, how our consciousness is very material dependant. For example, nicotine. If consicousness was separated from the body, why when our brain had certain molecule it created certain sensation? It very material dependant right? Once I had to go to the surgery table, and I was given particular drugs. If soul separated from the body, I should experience something right? But, what I remembered was, when I closed my eyes, it was just a few seconds. I thought the surgery was cancelled, who thought it was 4 hours. Of course, suddenly I gradually remembering something, but what I remembered was just an inconvenient experience like you are just about to die. But when I first gradually regain consciousness I dont remember any of it. Once I was poisoned by a drugs(Ahem, overdosed ;D), my parents saw my eyes open, after a few hours, yes I remembered it, but when it happened, I dont understand anything, I can see, but I know nothing, I can hear, but I understand nothing. I dont even remember am I really conscious in there. And like I said, I gradually remembered it, part by part after a few hours, until I fully regain my consciousness. It kept me thinking, why our soul was depend on our physical appearance. Why is it attached to me? And why certain molecule can alter it? I cant understand it except, matter can create consciousness. I always thinking, no matter who is the real God, we are dealing with a God, that understand about Him self, and make a thing that resemble with His. Why not? We already saw "senseless" things on our life. The space, the complete"non-sense technology", or a contradicting "technology" like the plants. Electrolysis is the best advanced technique I knew on how to separated water to the purest form, hydrogen and oxygen, but plants do it to carbon, without heat, and plants make the world cooler. If I thought about God, I thought about "superstition" ;D about "magic". I've actually discussed all these things in details, and it is important to know what it is that we are worshiping. Allah is non-information. Everything else is information which Allah has the power to generate, creating and destroying or "changing" as Allah wills. Allah is not information, so can not be experienced directly because there is nothing to be "informed of", no information. That is why death and unconsciousness like you experienced is skipped, and called "returning to Allah".

Peace @FreedomStands Allah makes Himself known to us through His Attributes, which are Meaningful and Represent His Qualities. As for His Essence, the 112th Sura of the Quran clearly states that we cannot apprehend Him on this side, so no use, or better not advisable to try, remember the passage of Moses asking Allah to show Himself to Him, how it ended for a poor mountain. But that is the revelation that I use to reference what Allah is, because when Musa got up he said Subhan, that Allah is like Nothing, total annihilation of everything, like death, there is nothing to see because if anyone sees anything its a creation of Allah (information), and Allah is non-information. non-information can never be comprehended or experienced directly, but the concept at least can be understood. I don't think it is too safe to not have a clear idea of what Allah is because then some people might be saying Allah and imagining some old man in the sky or something.

And whatever the perception the most important part is being a good person. The Rabb will count that as most important. The rest are not too important. And the best is to have no distinct image of a god at all, even if it is called Allah. The personal address for God is "Rabb". Only ignorant people are seen address God as Allah once in Quran. First yes. I understand Paganism clearly. The visualization of an image is Paganism when it is separate from the consciousness of Allah. Second, it is in Quran, "la Elah ila Allah" is the Arabic equivalent to "I am in the Creator and the Creator is in me" And no, the world is not real. It is an illusion or virtual reality. Even traditional interpretations can testify to that. If you think Jannat is on Earth you are clearly wrong. However, Gehenna is more like being doomed to persist in the flesh. Your aim is to be released from the flesh and not stay in it. You are led into disaster with your thinking I am afraid. Our souls are only for real if they exist in the Creator or otherwise they shall succumb to the same world they let themselves be absorbed in. There is only one existence and that is in Allah or otherwise it is in the flesh. Though I agree fully, I word it a little differently to say that everything is from Allah but some things are things created with the value of being references that accord more with the truth or reality we are experiencing in a moment in our impression anyway and some less so, and the Qur'an was created by Allah as was Moby Dick but Allah sent the Qur'an as a guidance and a light and in a specific way also, whereas "so and so writes Moby Dick" was done in a different way and was a different product to be used differently.

(He eats and drinks, wondering where Adam is, got pissed off, jumped out from a box to attack the Philistines etc...) The Nevim bundle (e.g. book of Isaiah, Jeremiah et al) contains the notion of "God Here There Everywhere" a.k.a Panentheism.. And within the Nevim bundle there's a description that the scribes has written lies about God. Majority part of the book within the Gospel bundle support Panentheism. Writings of "Early Christian Father" contains the notion of Panentheism. (God a.k.a The Father is here there everywhere, Kingdom of Heaven is here there everywhere, He 'sees and hear' from all angle etc..) Pardon the late reply, sir... The Nevi'im, for the most part, cosigns the Torah, depicting God in a similar fashion. However, it presents Him as being an anthropomorphic figure Who is no longer restricted to being a 'national' deity among the Israelites, for the most part at least; rather, He's often presented as being a Universal anthropomorphic "father" figure Who lives outside of the Earth, e.g. 'heaven'. Well, Energy is mentioned because it is the way we can comprehend it. Of course it is not energy that way the universe and "God" is composed of. A "force" then, a kind of might that keeps the universe together. If you observe atomic structures and so on you ought to know the universe is energetically charged. There you have your "God's" "miraculous" way of working the universe. Matter is like charged LEGO pieces which form different substances. The reason why matter appears solid is because its Creator wanted it that way Have faith You got it right. God is not something we can comprehend it, he might be something we cant think of. Our skin can give us report about our surrounding when we are touched at multiple place at once, even when we see something. And God is beyond it. Even we saw a jellyfish can have 6 tentacle at once and it coordinated awesomely. God gotta be better than that. His creation was just something tiny. I saw the universe is amazing. Something far beyond our understanding.

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said , Indeed, Allah has Vessels from among the people of the Earth, and the Vessels of your Lord are the HEARTS of His pious worshipers, and the most beloved ones to Him are the softest and tender ones (Musnad Shamain of Imam Tabarani) So to answer your question, not all of us are vessels of Allah, but only the hearts of His pious worshipers (the People of Sunnah), and the softer the heart, the better the vessel it is.

That guy was so awesomely correct. The problem is that both Jesus and Muhammad taught the same but also their words got corrupted somehow. The phenomenon of "God" can be a bit difficult to explain but there is a "God", but the problem is that "God" cannot gain an image of something or "be manipulated" like your ordinary object/entity, and that "God" is existence itself. The best I think is to erase the object "God" at all to maintain sanity. I find that making an image out of "God" diverts your focus from what is truly important in your life here, a test interim. Unity in "God". You have to work on your character in the spirit and then you belong with "God". "God" is an entity for sure, and thus a 'being', but not your standard person with character. By far this is the most difficult thing. Humans think through visualization. They are obsessed with shapes for which they bring the concept of God down to statue/image level. They are always looking for some kind of defined sign and symbol. Muslims do the same for which these days Prophet Muhammad has turned symbolic. Its difficult to bring them back to the original path. Blood shedding already stinks failure far away for a 'Nirvana' does not shed blood but waits until the 'Foundation' ("God&quot takes care of people. I wonder what actual message Buddha gave on Nirvana. I am not sure how hard it is to attain it. But it does affect brain chemicals for which mental problems surface in some. I suppose since it is not so easy, the one who attains it gains high level of respect from the average people. Hence, his commands are followed as divine.

I had that feeling a lot in the past. thinking if I'm nice and a good person all will be fine but it doesn't work that way. Being just is also letting yourself being treated just. that's just the law injustice to others is wrong but letting yourself being treated that way has the same effect and I realized I can't blame it on the Creator.
