May I know how you can know for sure?
Salaam,
You can recognize a messenger of Allah by the message.
Have you ever met someone who you think is a messenger of God?
Salm.
Sure.
We just have to get rid of thinking that messengers of Allah are superhumans with superpowers and get rid of idiolizing past messengers, then a lot will clear up for us.
Salaam,

Peace Mazhar,
Slightest disregard and disrespect nurtured in the hearts against the exalted Messenger Muhammad s.a.s. will suffice to take one straight to lowest hell prison. Such person is a Munifiq and his abode is there.
What kind of respect or regard do you talk about? If we follow the criteria and decree of the recitation (Qur'an) then, in my opinion, we respect and honor the prophet. I am as glad for his past devotion as I am for Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Lot, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon, Zachariah, John, Jesus, and all those I forgot to mention here.
Satan has many brothers amongst ordinary human beings. Men can utter sentences like I quoted earlier, but listen Satan what regards he had about those Personally Chosen persons of Allah the Exalted
Yeah. And you do not think it is because of their exceptional devotion and not through wishful thinking that they reach there?
Since Satan has regards for the elevated Messengers of Allah the Exalted
Hello? Are you really reading the passage or are you dreaming? The passage talks about those exempted people who cannot be tempted by Shaytaan. Please check in on the context.
1535 ?And a curse shall be upon you until the Day of Recompense.?
1536 He said ?My Master, respite me until the Day they are resurrected.?
1537 He said ?You are given respite.?
1538 ?Until the Day of the time appointed.?
1539 He said ?My Master, for that by which You have caused me to be misled, I will beautify for them what is on the earth, and I will mislead them all...?
1540 ?...except Your servants from among them, the devoted ones.?1541 He said ?This shall be a straight path to Me.?
1542 ?For My servants, you shall have no authority over them, except those who are misled and follow you.?
1543 ?And that Hell shall be their appointment, all of them.?
1544 ?It has seven gates, for every gate will be an assigned segmentTeal Does this not include all the servants of God in the whole world, from the now and from the past?
word by word
Except servants your ones them the sincere/devoted/pure/chosen.
I am sorry if I looked sarcastic.

Peace brother Scribbler,
You say that prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was an 'ordinary' man. Can you please tell me the name of one person who is NOT ordinary according to you? Bill Gates? Michael Jackson? Just tell me one name.
That is exactly the lesson. Everyone of them are ordinary people. You were kind to tell me three names so why do I have to add another?
The "platform" on which they operate is just as any one of us. Muhammad's platform was not Human 2.0 but it was the same version as we are. He was not an honorable messenger just due to wishful thinking but he also devoted himself immensely and served The Master well. Not saying we all become messengers or prophets, but it could be anyone of us who really devoted him/herself and happened to be within a prophecy and/or God's planning.

Give a thought to the fact that the word is Passive Participle which is derived from Form IV passive verb. And its role in the sentence is of for which is evident by its accusative case.
-
Peace,
Sorry I have no other thought than what it says.

Had you given a thought why Satan used a Passive Participle your whole perception about the Messenger might have changed. Satan also did not give a second thought when he was asked about his action, instead insisted on being superior to Adam.

Salaam,
RED Wow, what a strong proposition.
And what exactly has this all to do with the messenger? teach us so that we can see if your red proposition holds or not.
Salaam,
Bender -
Peace,
There emerges no second thought and I think you just play with words and confuse yourself Mazhar. Will you say I err like Satan when I see the language right in front of my eyes and it is a very simple sentence we look at?
I think what you know of Arabic grammar is of the flawed man made science. You make a whole science of a poor ancient script language that should be quite clear once learned. But most people insist on translating it the way I do too despite adhering to traditional regards of Arabic so I wonder why you translate it differently.
It is "EXCEPT YOUR SERVANTS WHO ARE ONES DEVOTED".
And the actor in the phrase is Shaytaan so 'K' in abudak must refer to God and not Muhammad if that is what you claim.
-
I guess it means axcept your servants who have been made devoted.
But in the end nothing changes, because God makes devoted whom He wants, but on the other hand, devoted are made (as well or not as well) those who ask God to be made devoted.
That is logical, God does whatever He wants and responds to those who ask.
Am I answering anything of what is being discussed or am I off?
Salaam

Yes.
The meanings of a text are conveyed to audience by the author of that text through the choice of words and their construction/sequence in the sentence according to the rules of the language he has used.
A passive participle is opposite in meanings to an active participle of the same verb. One who selects and he who is selected are different entities. Satan said that he will try to astray all human beings except those who are Passive Participles with the meanings of that passive verb, verbal noun and the Root from where that participle is derived. Thereby, he considers those persons as remarkably distinguished from all the human beings. Satan inspires people to sin. We the ordinary people can become his victim anytime in life.
Dear Bender, I hope it will also attend your query.
-
Well, we, the ordinary people may ask God to keep us from evil and restrain us from getting near it, and God responds those who ask him. And I suppose that prophets and every person ask God the same thing. Or is there any away around asking God for good things for our lives and deaths? Prophets or not prophets God makes us all. It depends on how much we ask. We do not make ourselves devoted, God makes us devoted. Right? We do not have the power to make us devoted, God has it, we have to ask for it. May be the quesion lies in that the prophets ask for it more than anybody else.
Salaam
-
Peace,
And Satan can inspire messengers to sin. We are all humans. Our would you say you do not fall victim to sin ever? The people in the discussed verse can sin, anyone will, but they are committed to God which will save them.
Those Satan cannot affect will be devoted to God and sufficiently aware not to commit major sins and delve into a life of wrongdoing. Satan says he will mislead them all... except. It is not an implication that there are error free idol messengers here and there including Muhammad, but that a group of people are enough aware of God to resist the temptation of the evil one. If you are seeking Muhammad at the price of God then you will have fallen for promise of Satan in 1539.
Why are you so obsessed with Muhammad anyway and calling him "Exalted Messenger", why is it not Jesus? Or Moses? Or Abraham? Were they not enough for you? Or can you not establish a connection to God on your own without them? What is it that they teach you so that they have to be your mediator?
You can have Muhammad as your mediator but I take God as my mediator after knowledge came to me. The messengers all helped relay the relevant information to me and I thank God for it.
Have faith

All the Messengers have been exalted by Allah the Supreme Sovereign.

You can recognize a messenger of Allah by the message.
True..
And the messenger is still delivering the messages as we speak.
They're easily recognized by the message.
And based on my personal experience none of them demanding a testimony that they're a messenger of God or being worshiped or ask anyone to die for them."By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit."
Try it, ask the question and you shall receive the answer, seek out and you shall find..
But if you never bothered to ask question, then how can you expect to receive an answer?
Or if you believe that there shall be no more revelation, then how can you expect to receive one?Salam / Peace

And they did not reach that rank merely through wishful thinking.

@ Brother Mazhar
Brother, I wonder if you're able to call the messenger (or messenger's name) without adding the word "elevated" or "s.a.s"?
You even use the word "exalted" for the messenger, that's the same praise you usually use for Allah. (
Since Satan has regards for the elevated Messengers of Allah the Exalted he will be given a better class in the Hell-Prison than the Muna'fi'qeen who will be in the worst class of Hell Prison. Slightest disregard and disrespect nurtured in the hearts against the exalted Messenger Muhammad s.a.s. will suffice to take one straight to lowest hell prison. Such person is a Munifiq and his abode is there.
Brother, did you ever think that if you also live at the same time and in the same place with the messenger, then probably the messenger himself will feel uncomfortable if you constantly use such calling to him.
Salm.

Salam Sister,
I understand the concern showed in the light of your perception about the subject. Thanks. Perceptions on any subject are to be framed only after having studied the Qur'aan from A to Z, critically atleast three times. Critical reading ---there is English book on it on line available--is a serious effort.
If you read the protocol prescribed for the believers who were meeting him in his life, you might shiver that what you perceive today, had you done this in his presence, you might have been doomed for ever despite hundreds of thousands of credits of good deeds in your account.
I am grateful for your feelings of concern.
-
I think its wrong to use Allah the exalted and Muhammad the exalted in the same sentence.
When you use a word to praise Allah, dont use that word to praise an another one besides him.

"When the hypocrites come to you, they say, "We testify that you are the Messenger of The God ." And The God knows that you are His Messenger, and The God testifies that the hypocrites are liars." 631
Then whoever will, recognize yourself. Your tongues can lie to people, and to The God, but you are sufficiently aware of what is just and what is unjust in your hearts.
