    Peace,

I know this has been discussed, but that was merely on the sexual level. I want to know your opinions on marrying someone of the same sex. For example, if you met someone that you thought was a female, you get to know the person, have many things in common, etc. but turns out its a guy. Some might say "Well you were deceived" but thats a simple answer to a complex problem IMO. If you have links to this person already its not that easy.

From what I know, the Quran basis it mainly on lust for the flesh and that alone. This isnt a problem that I have, but knowing the world today and some men can pass off as a women very easily, you never know. Also I personally am going to inshallah marry someone that is a God Alone person, but still, that person may be scared and not want to tell until the relationship is already too deep, and love is there already.

    Peace

People of Prophet Lut were destroyed because of gay marriages. They even tried to rape Lut's guests (da messengers) but Prophet Lut presented them his daughters so that they can marry them. You should not marry to same sex. That's haram! May God give some wisdom to all of us.

I dont think it stated anything about homosexual marriages? It specifically talked about the act if I am correct. Even if Lut offered his daughter, does that make it right for them?

Also can someone tell me about this ayatun

780-81 And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you? Lo! ye come with lust unto men instead of women. Nay, but ye are wanton folk.

        80
Walootan ith qala liqawmihi ata/toona alfahishata ma sabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameena

        81
Innakum lata/toona alrrijala shahwatan min dooni alnnisa-i bal antum qawmun musrifoona

We know that there are creatures that do have homosexual behaviors that are not human, so what is the correct translation of this verse?

        Peace

Yes brother, thats about gay marriages that is why it was said ye come with lust unto men instead of women. You think if they go to women without marriage thats ok? NO! They were not told to go to women without getting married to them!

Not a joke but what if the male had a sex change and then took female hormones? Is this person still considered a man, or is it something else?

And again, that saying that "no creature has down such a thing" is not exactly correct, since there are animals that do homosexual activities, so I think the translation is a bit off.

As far as no marriage, Lut offered his daughters to them to get raped. He said its purer, I guess since its not with men, but still its wrong.

Its wrong to lust in general, thats why women have their dress codes. Maybe usage of the words is incorrect I dont know.

            Peace

On sex change only a dr can tell, but on translation its not any creature but it mean no one in the world has done it before, and ofcourse no one means no human. May be some one else can better explain it.

Isnt alAAalameen in regards to Everything? I know that you are saying about in this context, but on sidenote like in Al Fatiha rabbi alaalameen would mean Lord of the Worlds and not pertaining to just Earth correct? I know that "min" is from, but whats "mina"?

As far as I am aware there is no prohibition on marrying a transsexual (or an intersex for that matter).

                  http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=13992.0

I shall retain this view unless someone quotes from the quran to provide evidence that it is forbidden.

I personally do not think its wrong to marry either until I can be strongly convinced. Problem arises with sex. As far as disease, I've that the rectum (be it male or female) has many bacteria that is harmful. What if there was a sex change, theres no risk of those diseases there to my knowledge. I personally think that sex should be about love, but I guess people like Abraham didnt see it that way, probably just to populate.

                      People of Lut said

                      1. Qaloo awa lam nanhaka AAani alAAalameena

                      Yusuf Ali
They said "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?"
                      Pickthal
They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone ?
                      Shakir
They said Have we not forbidden you from (other) people?

Here again Aalameena is used referring to poeple. Hope it helps

                        Salaam all

I think that people of Lut were destroyed, not simply for gay marriage or practice, but for all sexual practices also (women were also involved) which they performed publicly and even by force (rape), and seemed to have nothing occupying them but lust in all its forms. If you read the verses carefully, you will understand that they came after Lut's guests, and that Lut was afraid of them. They were more of perverts.

I don't understand it as "his natural daughters", but as the head of the community/tribe he addressed all the young /unmarried women as his daughters. Maybe with their practices, the population number was threatened, and he wanted them to have meaningful sex to procurate and have children. I believe so because I do not think at that time marriage was prescribed.

But how do you know he was the head of community/tribe? Also he was an outsider. And 1570 how could they forbid something to the community head? He was weak and helpless, threatend. I dont think he was a head of community at all.

                                Who was an ousider?

If the qur'aan allude to them as "people of Lut", and he was their messenger, so he is kind of a head figure. And yes, they did not obey him and that was why they were destroyed.
As for his fear of them, who wouldn't fear a gang rape?! Or a criminal gang at best?

In recent history (as far as we know), were/are there any homosexual communities destroyed, either partially or wholly, by supernatural catastrophic phenomenon (by God)? Today, there are abundance of such societies infiltrated amongst us and as well as their own built up secluded corners along with "human rights" but not a word from the almighty. hmm

I meant his fear of his people, not of the angels. He did not fear the angels; he recognized them. They told him that they were messngers to him from God (1180-81)
