Peace Mirjamnur Yes, I totally understand where you are coming from. I saw some documentaries on how they shelter and slaughter the animals in factory farms. Really terrible. I think your decision to not eat meat is definitely in the spirit of the Quran. I respect vegetarianism even though I am not a vegetarian myself. We are supposed to treat the animals with kindness. The organic, certified humane meat is both expensive and difficult to find. We make do with the certified humane chicken but the other meats are very expensive here. Some verses for our reflection There is not an animal that lives on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but they form communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they all shall be gathered to their Lord in the end (Quran 63. Do you not see that everything in the heavens and the Earth glorifies God? Even the birds in formation, each knows its communion and its glorification. And God is fully aware of everything they do. (2441) I think these verses teach us that even animals are to be treated with dignity, as they are here to fulfill a purpose, and they worship and glorify God as well.

Not meaning to be intrusive, but how does one come to be antitheist? Are they former believers? It's a fair question. As a child I was taught to believe in the Christian god. When we lived in Tehran I was confused by different gods and different claims. I guess I was already a sceptic, so I grew out of believing and into rational thinking, where both gods could not be right but both could be wrong. I then realised through science that humans are learning fast about their environment. I realised we had only scratched the surface and already with that minute knowledge did not require gods as explanations for previously unexplained phenomena any longer. So I went from atheist to anti-theist. To finish the story I just ignored religions until recently when I became interested due to personal circumstances and am now trying to understand what people believe and why.

Am I correct in assuming that people are also counted to bashar? 7185 generally speaks of all the things that God has created 2116 and all things are created not for play 51.56 The Djinn and ins not created for game for worship 53.24 here and elsewhere we see the word insan 114 speaks of nas 24.45 speaking of dabba which Allah has created from water and crawling on either two or four legs or on the floor - are meant people here also ? (and could it point to the evolution from monkeys?) 42.29 speaks of the character of the creation of heaven and earth and the Dabba who reside in it and says that God can gather them all. (so, this Aya is for remind people who do not believe in a meeting after the death, right?Why here God do not mention baschar? will he collect also animals in the day of qiama? 45.4 speaks of our creation and the dissemination of dabba (a distinction is made between human and dabba-can it be that God wants to draw attention to the slowly development / difference of us compared to the Dabba? 25.54 says that Allah created bashar out of the water there are different translations Edip-Layth 2554 He is the One who created a human being from the water, so He made for him blood kin and mates. Peace Mirjamur, Basically, if I understood correctly, the other time suggested for Hajj (which is the one I believe to be correct), is the period following the next full moon after the Summer Solstice of June 21st. This is regarded as the hottest sun. It is then calculated ten days from the start of the full moon. The full moon lasts 3 days plus 7 to make 'the count'. I think this is it in a nutshell. Dhubia can't mean sacrificed/dedicated, because other words are used at 16115, 37107, and 1082 with those meanings--and slaughter works and makes sense as a meaning for dhubia. Two words will have two different meanings. In any case, the method for slaughter is not specified--except that slaughter can't be performed by means of strangulation, by beating an animal to death, or by dropping an animal from a height. 53 Forbidden to you is that which is already dead, and the blood, and the meat of pig, and what was dedicated to other than GOD, and that which has been strangled, and that which has been beaten to death, and that which has fallen from a height, and that which has been gored, and that which the wild animals have eaten from except what you managed to rescue , and what has been slaughtered on altars, and what you divide by the arrows of chance.
