I agree with a lot of previous statements. My interpretation is that God weighs every act you do. If the good outweighs the bad you can gain entry into Jannah but not all acts are weighed the same. If you die in the state of shirk, it outweighs every good deed you have done. Shirk is not just disbelief in God but also disbelief in the the oneness of God. Ancient Greeks were mushriks because they did not believe in the existance of one God. But trinitarians are also mushriks because while they believe in God, they associate other things with him thereby denying his power. Even though they believe that the others are manifestations of a supreme deity. Shirk is an act that you MUST repent for. Allah does not accept those who do not accept him. The Quran makes it clear that people go to and from belief. The verses are a warning. You can't cover your bases by worshipping multiple deities. You either believe in Allah or you don't and if you don't, then likewise you don't deserve a spot in his paradise. But if you repent and change your ways Allah is most merciful and most forgiving.

That's what happens when people are afraid of what others might think... Fear people more than Allah and end up throwing away holy verses!

peace Samia, I am saying that the nisa are not necessarily the receiver of money directly. This is an indisputable fact of life. For example, it would be quite common for it to be indirect, e.g. spending on utilities, house maintenance etc. Besides, giving money to "vulnerable" person doesn't seem very prudent. And lastly, the word is "spend" not "give", so for your interpretation to better fit, the word should be "give". There is nothing conclusive about this point. Re slave/prisoner You said "This is mainly for the society." You say mainly for society, I say it could be mainly for the slave/prisoner. In either case, there is nothing conclusive, and it would be subjective. What do you mean by the last sentence? It DOES say exactly that. If you are implying Quran does say an absolute statement then this is 100% wrong. If you are implying that then you contradict yourself when you later say "If someone is quwam over the other, the logic says we should show the criteria of this quwama. The verse did that." So please clarify what you meant, thanks. Why mention pregnancy and childbirth? Women still work while they are pregnant and when they have kids. If they are unable, they fall within the category of the sick, men or women, and abstain. Same rules as for fasting. Why change the same rules here? Being pregnant does not equal being sick! Moreover, how many years of the age an average woman spends on pregnancy and childbirth to make it such an issue? It doesn't matter if it is only 5% of one's time, it is an issue that should be dealt with, and it is. What about unmarried women, sterile women? If they wish to work, provide etc that is fine, they can do as they wish. This is about default duty, i.e. there is no obligation upon women that they should work/provide etc if there are men of the household. The way "some of them over some" as I explained it in an earlier post (post 7 in a reply to huruf, on the issue of FDL, and according to the usage of this expression in the quraan, shows that it's a preference within ONE group, people of both genders in our verse, in opposition to the expression that shows preference between two specific groups. You missed out 432, see below Also, I just noticed that 432 says "some of YOU over others" whilst 434 says "some of THEM over others" - and the implication of this is obvious. In 432 it is referring to one pool of people (i.e. humankind, i.e. men and women), whilst 434 is referring to two groups of people, hence "THEM". This usage is a perfect fit. To imply otherwise, would require explanation.

Peace "I am certain about the Infinite Creator, and pick and choose from the Koran (to the best of my overstanding)." We are free to pick and choose according to our over/understanding but when the light of ALLAH shines through the book, submit. It is the same light radiating from the sun and the moon, it is our light, it is your light, it is my light, it is none of our light for it is ALLAH supreme. Peace

Salam, Raheel is correct about his food, ie food given to him. Speculating, he follows, obeys whoever feeds him. Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing. To change people, focus on their stomach. And when you said, "O Moses, we can never endure one food. So call upon your Lord to bring forth for us from the earth its green herbs and its cucumbers and its garlic and its lentils and its onions." said, "Would you exchange what is better for what is less? Go into settlement and indeed, you will have what you have asked." And they were covered with humiliation and poverty and returned with anger from Allah . That was because they disbelieved in the signs of Allah and killed the prophets without right. That was because they disobeyed and were transgressing. Let's plant and Grow food and feed people. Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby fruits of varying colors? And in the mountains are tracts, white and red of varying shades and extremely black.

Excellent question I must say. The Quran uses allegorical statements a LOT. That is what I find so beautiful about it. I remember reading somewhere that Allah uses similes to make humans comprehend, or even slightly fathom, that which they could never fully appreciate in their human existence due to their limitations in perceptions. For eg. the quran was primarily sent down to bedouin tribes living in the desert regions. What was heavenly to them in that scenario? ...water and cool air...hence paradise is shown as rivers and flowing streams with all sort of good foods. What was torturous?... severe heat and dry hot air, with cacti like plants and hot water...hence hell is indicated as such. I highly doubt that heaven and hell are actually fire and water...for me the worst, most inconsolabe feeling i have ever felt in life is guilt, darkness and distance from God...when I felt that I was too far gone in sin for Him to care to answer my prayer....so IMHO hell for me is exactly that...guilt over self caused anguish and distance from His light for eternity. Since humans are too limited in their experiences and perception, I guess we can only guess as to what the Hereafter holds for us. But no matter what Hell/ heaven is..im sure we all agree on doing the best we can to make our lives here and in the hereafter better.

So, sad!-----The Ummah (Salafis, Sunnis) today say that the Prophet was illiterate. Allah Commanded the Prophet ---"Read" in the name of your Lord who has created." (961) According to Sunnis, the Prophet himself did not obey Alalh's Commandment, and did not learn to "Read". (Naoozo Billah!) ---"The One who taught by the pen." (964) According to Sunnis, the Prophet did not obey Allah's Commandment, and never picked up a pen to learn how to write. (Naoozo Billah!) How shameful!-----How shameful!

Getting back to the topic, In my opinion Quran is too trivial a thing to be compiled by Allah himself. I think HIS planning division must have floated the idea and Got it approved. HIS R&D cell, probably chalked a broad outline and then let the Owners/controllers for earthly affairs finish the job. Once complete and approved, it must have been passed on to the messenger in charge (Gabriel) of inspectorate team, to be taken along in their next annual visit. They brought it down on one of the Shahar ur Ramadhan night some 14 centuries ago and handed it over to the last layer of controllers for deliverance across the border. siki

Thanks Wakas. I supose that there are sins that can be forgiven by Allah without repenting!? If there really are than I supose there is no contradiction! Thanks How do you repent to Allah f Allah isn't practised anywhere, Allah is the Law, how do you repent to the Law of our creator ? do not repent, just try to fix your mistakes in your life, by doing good and having a better life , in harmony with the rules of nature and existance, love, hapinness, doing good, paying your taxes, try to feel better and do good work, try to make a lot of money legally and learn and be nice to the people around you. that is forgiveness Put Jalabib on yourselve, meaning put something TAJLIB, attractive and respectufull so people know you belong to a High class ( musumin) Family and no one bothers you. do not put a veil on your head, JALABIB are high class cloths to look good and respectefull, this is just an exemple. men and women shall put JALABIB , so people will know they are civilised, by the way, Rijal and Nissaa are rulers and ruled.

Greetings and Peace group The Qur'an may be "attacked", but is it weakened? People are free to choose what they believe, and many are unwilling to dispassionately/objectively view evidence. Addressing question #1 Not necessarily. It is impossible to "prove" the existence of the Highest Power except as the Highest Power permits. It follows that the same applies to Guidance or claimed guidance. I believe AQ to be of Divine origin, but cannot prove it (unless Allah Illuminates me and allows it). <playing devil's advocate> Ultimately, if AQ is the best written Guidance we have, does the origin matter? Addressing question #2 My belief is yes. It is stated in AQ that Allah uses examples. In AQ 265, I believe that "apes" is non-literal. AQ 226 God does not shy away from putting forth the example of a mosquito, or anything above it. As for those who believe, they know that it is the truth from their Lord. As for the rejecters, they say "What does God intend with this example?" He strays many by it, and He guides many by it; but He only strays by it the wicked. AQ 1335 The example of the Paradise which the righteous are promised, is that rivers flow beneath it, and its provisions are continuous as is its shade. Such is the abode of those who were righteous, while the abode of the rejecters is the Fire. AQ 4715 Is the example of the Paradise; that the righteous have been promised with rivers of pure water, and rivers of milk whose taste does not change, and rivers of wine that are delicious for the drinkers, and rivers of strained honey, and for them in it are all kinds of fruits, and a forgiveness from their Lord; like that of those who abide in the Fire, and are given to drink boiling water that cuts-up their intestines? If there are any particular areas that need illumination, perhaps FM can provide perspective--Allah willing. Haters still "gonna hate", but most folks capable of helping would love to do the service of helping a seeker. May Allah see fit to Guide all seekers. peace ~Abdul-Hadi

My understanding of the unseen is that we observe things as they come. Because we have only existed for 14 billion years, there is the rest of eternity to follow, that segment is the "unseen", i.e. the future.

At the begining I will mention that I am undecided on wich religion is true. I am sorry to say this but I have to be honest with my self and others. I supose you wouldn't want me any other way. That is a very good start - the fact that you're being honest with yourself, and you remain that way - who can stop you from finding the truth? I am finding it hard to believe in eternal torment in Hell. If I had to chose between the Qur'an or the Bible it would probably be the Qur'an That was always my outlook Help me deside if you wish! None of us can do that for you, the best thing any of us here could ever do is to present information to you in the most objective way possible sans our own person interpretation of the given information being presented, keep searching every possible source of information you can find, and if I could give you my honest opinion - STEER CLEAR OF OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS! lol peace

Peace I have a burning question. If there existed a Quran in the time of the prophet e.g. written in the supervision or by the prophet, how come it is lost? How irresponsible of the people of the day to have misplaced or lost the most important book of all time. Surely people would have lost their lives and taken precausions to make sure of its safety and preservation. This really puzzles me. However, there is no denying that over the years the Quran has managed to find its way back, otherwise we would have found many contradictions, right? Probably why the Quran was memorised and also writen down to help its preservation. I dont think however, that anyone in this forum has the answer and that unless we get unbiased access into the middle east to carry out archaeological finds we wont understand our past. Peace I believe the quran that they say was written by othman, is the quran written by the prophet, they didn't admit the prophet wrote the quran, because they insist that he is illiterate. Othman lived all his life with prophet mohamed, from the begining of the message, so he know the quran by heart also, why would he ask for papers and versions if there was any ? and another narration about the quran of um salama, the prophet"s wife, or hafssa , it's the othman quran and the same, this is what i believe. Hope
